STR REG# 2018-3261. This apartment is close to all the action of downtown (7 minute walk), the Old Port (15 minute walk). Deering Oaks Park is one block away. Please note it SHARES A BATHROOM with the adjacent unit. It is very close to all the wonderful restaurants, breweries and bars of Portland. The building does sit next to a light industrial urban area, there is a less 'salubrious' area 2 blocks east, which is easily avoided, and this is Portland, you will see 'street characters'..
This is a studio apartment with its own private access door but with a SHARED BATHROOM. You have a large bedroom area with TV, WiFi, Netflix and Hulu streaming and a dining area set up in the bay window. It is a ground floor level apartment and for this reason I have frosted the windows for privacy. The bedroom area has air conditioning and we suggest putting this on at night (even if it is on fan only) as this will mitigate any outside noises from traffic and voices. The street is generally quiet at night. The bathroom is accessed through a hallway, so you have your own lockable door, a hallway and the opposing apartments lockable door to separate the private areas. This is an old building and nothing is really level/square. Noises can travel and for that reason we request that guests please enter and exit quietly and please be aware of those below you.
This neighborhood (West Bayside) is undergoing strong gentrification. There are several great restaurants less than a minutes walk from the front door (Isa, American Bayside Cafe, Back Bay Grill) and Food Fork Lab, 2 buildings down. There are also several breweries close by, such as Rising Tide. However, the building borders a light industrial neighborhood and sits behind the main post office. It is an urban environment, not a tree lined residential street. The area 2 blocks east is best to avoid, you are safe but it doesn't look pretty. It is easily avoided by accessing downtown Portland via Forest Avenue. Deering Oaks Park is a beautiful park that is only one block west, and has a great Farmers Market at the weekend. Trader Joe's and Whole Foods a quick 2 minute car ride or 6 minute walk away. The building is minutes away from everything, but this being Portland, you will see 'street characters' in our neighborhood.

Well lit, large room with an extra futon (second bed) in a cozy old-fashioned Maine duplex with your own private entry. The queen size bed, plush with 800 (or more) thread count sheets, a down comforter and cozy pillows will prove to be comfortable. The room has a private bath with a tile shower, refrigerator, microwave and coffee/tea. We provide towels, hi-speed wifi and small speakers for music. We are an easy walk to everything, and we offer our driveway for parking.
(Please read my entire listing as it will answer most, if not, all questions you may have. It will also help you decide if what I have to offer will meet your expectations and needs so you can have an amazing stay here in Portland) Hi, I'm Christine. I'm here to help you have an enjoyable stay at my home. But, also, I have made my Airbnb as self-sufficient as possible in case I'm off doing unpredictable life & mom things. I don't want my busy schedule to hinder any of your plans. As much as I would love to meet all of my guests, I may not be able to. (Do know, I will always be reachable by phone or text and would love to help in any way I can) My place is right in Portland and you can literally walk to most, (if not all) desired locations. It is a two story duplex that I have converted into a home for my family with a designated Airbnb area. To ensure privacy, my family stays in an area that is totally separate and secure from the Airbnb space. I have a dog (Harriet) and she will bark. Even though she is friendly, you will not have direct contact with her. My house is not modern. In fact, it is well over 100 years old. Calling it a "fixer-upper" is a bit harsh, but it does need some special love and attention. As much as I am very serious about making these upgrades happen, it has been a slow process. Take comfort in knowing that I have prioritized the Airbnb space and its the best room in the house! I am proud to have made it into a unique/comfortable/clean and cozy little Spot for my guests. (I intend to use my Airbnb revenue as a means to make such improvements to the rest of my home) I love my neighborhood. Back Bay Grill, Bayside Bowl, Bubba's, (voted best dance club) Isa and American Bayside Grill are primo hot spots within a block of my house. We are a short walk to The Museum of Art, Nickelodeon, the Old Port, (waterfront) Trader Joe's, Whole Foods Market, Deering Oaks Park and some of the nations most highly regarded microbrew pubs. On the downside, there is a resource center a few blocks from my house. You may encounter homeless people who may/may not be under the influence of drugs/alcohol. The area can easily be avoided by foot and/or by car. I provide a map that clearly shows where the resource center is and how to best avoid it. (if you choose) Please take comfort in knowing, I have lived in my neighborhood for 15 years and I feel safe in my home, and I would never have an Airbnb if this were not the case. Also, we are less than 2 minutes off the 295 highway, so traveling north or south of the city will be as easy as it gets with minimal city driving. FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT MY PLACE: Q: When can I check in or check out? A: I will try to accommodate your desired check-in or check-out, no matter what time it is. Note that early check ins are not always possible if I have a guest leaving that morning, as I need time to have the room cleaned for you. Q: Will I have a key? Can I come and go as I please? And, where do I leave the key when I leave. A: Yes, yes and leave the key in the room.
Parris street is a little two-way street right in the heart of downtown Portland, in the most diverse area of the state. Online maps measure distances in feet to the most celebrated and award winning restaurants and night spots. We are located just blocks from Portlands highly touted art district with the Portland Museum of Art within ten minutes on foot. My family has lived in the neighborhood for over a decade. We feel safe in our home and have never had an incident where someone even tried to break in.

Our home is near parks, nightlife, hospitals and the city center but located in a quiet neighborhood. You can walk to everything. It's very small, but quiet and has a separate entrance. If you want to socialize with us you can, but you also have privacy too. The house was built in 1894, so the room/ bathroom are older, has a clawfoot tub and is small. Many guests ask about off-street parking. We have it available for 5$ per night in a nearby lot.
Full size bed. Very comfortable double bed. The room is small!! Electric heaters are available for your use to supplement the heat. Did I say the room was small? Its small but really comfortable. The bathroom is older and has a clawfoot tub, so you must be able to lift your legs over a 24" lip. Water pressure is very good.
The West End is primarily residential, with apartments and single family homes. It is very safe. There are nearby convenience stores, markets and laundry mats. The hospitals are both a ten minute walk away.

A quiet, beautifully lit, sanctuary in the middle of Portland's peninsula. The Art Studio is on the ground floor of a 100 year old church. It's previous use was as a painter's studio and there is still some paint on the radiant heat, polished, concrete floor. The room is full of art by Maine artists. Your host is an artist and makes the rest of the building his home and work space. For the use of guests there is a sunny, fenced yard accessible from the rental.
Park your car because you won't need it. In minutes you can to walk to the many restaurants and bars as well as brewery and distillery tasting rooms. Less than 20 minute walk to the Portland Museum of Art, Portland Stage Company, and the State Theater through the center of the downtown. And you'll be only one block from Portland's historic performing arts facility Merrill Auditorium. My listing is dog friendly, but you must inform me if your dog(s) are accompanying you. Sunny ground floor apartment in a beautiful brick Victorian era Italianate home. 1000 sq. ft with hardwood floors, king bed, full bath, private entrance, access to patio and yard. Walking distance to everything; just two blocks from Congress Square.
This is a spacious one-bedroom apartment with a classic Portland layout: living room in front, french doors to the dining room, bedroom to the side, kitchen in the back. The bay window gets copious morning sun and makes the maple floors gleam. The bathroom has just been expanded and remodeled in 2017 with a small tub and new fixtures. The bedroom has a kingsize bed and a rollaway twin bed or pack-n-play crib is available. The entire place has replacement windows and was certified lead-safe by the city of Portland. Please note that like many homes in Maine, there is no air-conditioning, as Portland averages only 4 days per year over 90 degrees, in which case we have fans and beaches.
Mechanic Street is a little one-way street right in the heart of downtown, in the most diverse neighborhood in the state. Online maps measure walking distance in FEET to Portland's most celebrated restaurants, nightspots and parks, and less than three blocks to Portland Stage Company, Portland Museum of Art and Congress Square, the center of Portland's art district. Also be advised that a resource center for the homeless is down the street and an ancient local dive bar on the corner can sometimes attract an "urban tableau" of our less-fortunate neighbors, however they are mostly harmless and the community policing center is nearby and responsive.

Stay in our remodeled urban micro house. Everything in here is new as of May 2017. Small + stylish. Form + function. Everything serves a purpose with nothing extra. We like to call it simplistic comfort. Ergonomic mini-kitchen with granite countertops, apartment-sized range and fridge, French-press coffee maker with coffee/cream/non-dairy milk/sugar/agave provided. Remodeled bathroom with floor-to-ceiling white tiles, rain shower, upgraded toilet, and the cutest little 9" vanity you've ever seen. Other features: *Black-out shades *Your choice of fan or air conditioner in summer *Filtered water *Organic cotton sheets *Reliable Wi-Fi *Smart TV with 125 cable channels and Apple TV *Bluetooth speaker *Firm sofa that easily converts to a queen-sized bed. Topped with the provided 2" memory foam and new fluffy featherbed, it's quite comfy! *Cuddledown pillows, organic cotton linens, and bath towels *Kitchen with the essentials: utensils, dish set, pots, colander, kettle, bowls, cutting board, can opener, bar ware such as wine and cocktail glasses, wine opener, cocktail shaker, spice rack, Nutribullet, mini waffle maker, popcorn maker, etc. We are also clean freaks. This unit accommodates two adults. We do not allow pets or children. BEFORE making a booking with us, please consider whether our amenities suit your needs or whether you'd prefer a real bed, a bedroom, a larger unit, on-site parking, etc. at an alternate listing. We want happy guests! The condo is on historic Deering Street - lined with trees, stately Victorian mansions, and brick sidewalks. The condo is one of 6 in the building, built in 1865 by a local carpenter by the name of Rufus Deering for he and his family. It's a lovely building and many of the architectural details have been lovingly preserved.
The condo is a on a quiet and safe residential street, and the bustling commerce of Congress Street is just a block away. The action on Congress Street is all considered part of the Arts District, so it's very artsy! The very popular ArtWalk First Friday is on the first Friday of every month, and it's right around the corner from the condo. This part of town is where the locals hang out; the Old Port is, on the other hand, very touristy. Our local park, Congress Square, is a 1-minute walk and offers outdoor entertainment several evenings a week, including dancing and live music - all for free! Bars, restaurants, shops, and live music venues line Congress Street, so you don't need to go far from the condo for coffee, live music, or a meal. Not only is our street - Deering Street - one of the most beautiful streets in all of Portland - tree-lined, with brick sidewalks and very little traffic - it is also a cohesive collection of high quality architect-designed buildings from the second half of the 19th century that were originally predominantly residential in nature. The district was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.

The charming Olive & James Berry House (1851) is your CLEAN, comfy & cozy refuge in the center of it all: a block & a half from MECA & up the street from Bayside Bowl. Many park & never move from the driveway! Great food steps away: Isa, Bayside Cafe, Nosh, Emilitsa & more or walk less than a mile thru the Old Port to the waterfront. Eat-in kitchen, full bath, small tv room (Roku/hulu/wi-fi), a/c in each bedroom, patio, grill, garden & free parking. No pets, kids 9+ considered. 420 FRIENDLY!
The kitchen is fully equipped with a full-sized fridge, electric stove, Keurig coffee machine, toaster, blender and an array of dishware, cookware, silverware & glassware. Try a Moxie, the official soft drink of Maine or brew a cup of locally roasted coffee from Coffee By Design. An assortment of tea and breakfast items is also provided for you! The cozy tv and reading room has a selection of books about Maine or by Maine authors in addition to a 24" flat screen tv. Network channels are available over the air and there is a Roku with Hulu Plus. The unit has dedicated service with the modem & router located in this room should you need to re-set. Two LOVESEATS (NOT full-sized couches) seat 4. The bathroom, with a full-tub and shower, is located UPSTAIRS and is fully stocked with towels, toiletries and a hair dryer. The upstairs bedroom features a full size, extra thick inner spring mattress with an egg crate foam topper. There is a new, twin size, 8" memory foam mattress that slides out from under this bed for a 5th person (or 3rd person if each one needs a separate bed). Let me know if you need this made up and it will be ready upon your arrival. The downstairs bedroom has a 10" queen size combination foam and Conforma Coil mattress. Both bedrooms have air conditioners. Since this is a 160+ year old house, be aware that the stairs may be steeper, and the stairway itself narrower, than in a more modern building. Floors are creaky too! City of Portland License #STHR-001185-2019
Bayside is one of Portland's emerging and popular areas on the peninsula. It's not a quiet suburb, houses here are quite close together and you'll hear normal city traffic and neighborhood residents. We are located on the edge of the Arts District (don't miss the Friday Art Walk!) within walking distance of all of Portland's hot spots-both uptown and in the Old Port. New business, including a whiskey bar & a brewery, are soon to join Chipolte, The Fork Food Lab, Trader Joe's, Eastern Mountain Sports, Quest Fitness Cycle and others. Within a 3 block area, you'll find some of the city's finest dining establishments: Back Bay Grill, Isa bistro and brunch favorite Bayside American Cafe to the West. Yet, just down the street, to the East, the Preble Street Resource Center and Soup Kitchen serve Portland's large population of homeless persons and others in need. A throwback from the founding years of the industrial area of the area, E. Perry Iron & Metal Scrap Yard (est. 1896) sits across the street from Whole Foods. This diverse area is in transition and we who live here are excited to see what will come.

Located between Mercy and Maine Medical Center. Blocks from Museums, MECA, USM, Parks, Markets and loads of great restaurants and shops.
This is a free standing little house. The shaded side yard is your own private outdoor space. The front enclosed porch is great for bikes, stroller, and/or drinks on a buggy evening.
This is a downtown residential neighborhood with access to all that Portland has to offer. We located conveniently one block up from Longfellow Square. Groceries, basic and gourmet, are available behind the house and down the street. Local Pharmacies and Reny's "a Maine adventure" Department Store will have any necessity you've forgotten. A fully-appointed kitchen with plenty of bar ware, cookware, coffee, tea, sugar and creamer will make you feel at home and able to eat in if you choose. Two large closets are provided for your items. The Arts District is the best place to stay in all of Portland! Walk anywhere on the peninsula or just step out your door and find yourself in the middle of the finest galleries, live music and dining Portland has to offer. Just a few blocks from the waterfront, this section of Congress Street is lined with art galleries, antique shops, and artist studios as well as the Portland Museum of Art, the Institute of Contemporary Art at MECA, the Center for Cultural Exchange, the State Theater, the Portland Stage Company, the Center for Maine History and more. Several music venues offer live music in the Arts District : Blue, 650 Congress Street: A jazz club with every Saturday dedicated to the genre and live music nearly every night of the week ranging from open mic to Irish session. Tapas and a good wine selection. Empire, 575 Congress Street: Eat at Empire Chinese Kitchen before heading upstairs to see a show. Local and national acts pass through this small club, and it's home to the long-running Clash of the Titans series. Geno's Rock Club, 625 Congress Street: This rock/metal club has character. The theater-style set up makes every spot in the house a good one, and the whiskey is good. One Longfellow Square, 181 State Street, Suite 201: Hosting acts from all genres, this is a great place to hear old favorites and learn new artists. The bar offers local draft beers and cocktails made with local spirits. Port City Music Hall, 504 Congress Street: This mid-size venue attracts fantastic artists from across the country and supports the local scene, too. The beer selection offers many locally brewed options like Bunker, Oxbow, and Allagash. Space Gallery: 538 Congress Street: This Congress Street arts center hosts documentaries, community events, and music acts. Whatever the format, it's sure to be something that makes you think. Enjoy locally-made Urban Farm Fermentory cider or draft beer from Bunker Brewing Company. State Theater, 609 Congress Street: The State Theater could easily force its captive audience to buy overpriced drinks, but this mid-sized venue keeps its beer selection local, so you can enjoy your favorite Maine brew while you listen to the national acts that visit this historic theater. Portland has nearly 400 restaurants. A few worth trying right in the neighborhood include Emiltsa, 555, Taco Escobarr, Sur Lie, David's, Empire, and Boda.

We are in the heart of downtown Portland. 5 to 10 minute walk, to all Portland has to offer; restaurants, breweries, galleries, parks, shops, famers markets. The State Theater, Portland Museum of Art-Portland's arts district, the Old Port, Congress Square are near. We are located in a vibrant transitional neighborhood, home to Trader Joes, ISA, Back Bay Grill, Bayside Bowl and Bayside Café. There is a homeless outreach center located 3 blocks away that serves the homeless.
First floor studio space in our 1848 Greek Revival home, with separate entrance. It is not a large space, but there is a feeling of spaciousness, largely due to 9 foot ceilings. There is a small coffee maker, and a small refrigerator with beer, wine, water, and coffee . Outdoor garden space is shared- primarily with Elmo and Wally (our French bulldogs), and Mack, (our cat). Renovations were completed in August 2017; new floors, walls, lighting/electric, and a new bathroom. A few things to know about your garden mates; Elmo has a great deal of enthusiasm, and we are working on his greeting behavior as he tends to jump for joy when humans step into the back yard area- Wally overall is more low key, but still very excited to greet people- Mack, the cat lounges on the chairs outside the studio and in various places in the garden, he is very friendly and enjoys greeting guests at the backyard gate.
