Charming seasonal waterfront cottage boasting awe inspiring views of Buttermilk Cove. Interior is tastefully decorated with granite countertops, stainless steal appliances, wood floors, a gas fireplace and many attractive touches including a spiral staircase. Lounge dockside or venture to the rooftop deck where you are completely private from your neighbors. Close to Bowdoin College, Maine State Music Theater, Freeport and 25 minutes to Portland.
  • Shower is a touch on the harder side if you’re a taller guy but other that, you cannot beat this place! Updated and beautiful inside and out.

  • Beautiful and stylish place! The deck and dock were perfect after a long day of travel.

  • Beautiful place and spot!

    James2019-07-18T00:00:00Z
  • Robert and Charlene’s place was a perfect oasis at the end of a long road trip throughout the Northeast. I loved sitting out on the balcony and walking down to the dock. The views are as beautiful as the pictures show! Our only big complaint was that the blinds only go down halfway and there isn’t a way to fix them which makes you feel like you have zero privacy. I’m assuming this is because the house is for sale and is set up for staging. Otherwise, we loved it!

  • Great stay! Nice and clean!

    Evan2019-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is beautiful! The view is unbelievable. the living room furniture is comfortable. The bathroom is lovely except the shower head is mounted three feet high on the wall. Very strange. There is a beautiful tub but didn't feel like I could take advantage of it because the cistern of house water that is upstairs behind the bed was a bit low. The loud piercing alarm for the water level went off twice. The cottage is right on an intermittently busy road so bring your ear plugs for sleeping. We were planning to eat most of our meals at the house but the kitchen is missing some essentials like bowls, sharp cutting knives, baking pan, mugs, etc. Sleeping was a bit of an issue. The upstairs bed is very small and short and the pull out couch is pretty bad. Wish we had known a few of the shortcomings before hand. We still had a nice time but there were challenges. I am still grateful for the place to stay.

  • This was my first AirBnB experience and it set the bar extremely high for any future stays. Everything about this experience was perfect. Convenient location that was easy to find (even after dark); warm & friendly (but not intrusive) hosts; immaculate room and bath; comfy bed and pillows, and the frosting on the cake was a Keurig in the room and half & half in the fridge!

    Lisa2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • I can’t say enough good things about this rental! Allison is a wonderful host and has thought of everything in preparing for my stay. It’s extremely comfortable and private. It’s spotless and stylish. I will stay again and highly recommend them!

We practically guarantee a good night’s sleep in a comfortable space with lots of windows, ceiling fans and a propane heater with a fire's glow! Explore Harpswell and its 216 miles of coastline!! Mid Coast Maine is a nature lover's paradise with lobster on the menu! Restaurants! Walking trails! Beaches! Breweries! We are close to Bath, Brunswick, Topsham, Orr's/Bailey Island (both part of Harpswell) and Freeport.
PLEASE READ the description of our studio and outdoor space in its entirety. There may be a bit of duplication - sorry for that. :) Let us know if you have any questions. MAKE PLANS NOW for a vacation or “mini vacay” to remember in Harpswell! We are consistently fully booked for the summer and early fall season. Welcome to your home away from home! You’ll want to relax and take your time here - so much to see and do! Just a short drive to sunsets beyond belief!! You will find our guidebook (in the studio) insider tips to be invaluable and they will make your stay so much more enjoyable! No added cleaning fee! Pet-free space! Seasonal a/c window unit for warm weather. Propane “woodstove” heater with flames ambiance and lots of warmth for the cooler months or evenings. Picture a toasty fire with real flames. No drafty seasonal space - bask in year-round comfort regardless of the weather. Enjoy a nice hot chlorine free shower with well water! (like all families with a well, we still need to be mindful of excessive usage - thank you in advance for your help with this!) And excellent drinking water - no need to buy bottled water! We have room for one or two vehicles maximum. Kindly let us know if you will have more than one vehicle. Once you are here, you will appreciate how stunning this area is! Our studio is a good value in desirable Harpswell. We are THE BEST-SITUATED AirBnb on the Route 24 side of Harpswell leading down to Orrs and Bailey Island for visiting Bath, Brunswick and Topsham and for getting on the highway to venture further. All of these towns are just a few miles and less than 15 minutes away. Bowdoin College is just 6 miles (12 minutes) away. The studio is located at the back of our house considerably far from the road. We live on a two acre piece of property. We are on a busy road, but this means that we are very accessible to many amazing destinations including small beaches (some you need to know how to reach) and hiking trails within 20 minutes and two state parks with beaches within 35 minutes. Our 488 square foot (45 square meters) studio on one level (slight step up between rooms) features a private entrance, bedroom area, large efficiency kitchenette (see details below) and private shower bath. The surprisingly spacious area is bright and airy with lots of windows, high ceilings, two skylights that open and two ceiling fans. The decor is comfortable and eclectic rather than contemporary. We’ve decorated the studio with original artwork and a few nautical touches. Outside you will have your own personal sun space with seasonal gas grill, table and chairs. Lovely garden and water views from our property! Check out our two small sitting areas across the road with spectacular and expansive views of the New Meadows River! Consider it part of our shared outdoor space - it just happens to be across the road. We have tidal water access. All use of this area is at your own risk. Water shoes or sandals are necessary for swimming and use is dependent upon the daily high tide schedule. You have approximately 1.5 to 2 hours before and after high tide for swimming. The ”efficiency plus” kitchenette area features a refrigerator, separate upright freezer, kitchen sink, microwave, countertop convection oven (with toaster feature), coffee maker, single serve hot water dispenser, single state of the art glass induction cooktop (gets rave reviews - heats up fast!), and an electric skillet. We ask that you make every effort to operate only two high wattage appliances at one time. We provide pots and pans, cooking utensils, silverware, tea, coffee, olive oil, butter, condiments, milk and flavored coffee creamer. We want our space to be fresh, odor free and welcoming, so we ask our guests to refrain from deep fat frying or indoor steaming of lobsters and clams. Outdoor seasonal cooking of lobster and clams may be available with advance notice. Year round you can order lobsters cooked to order for eat in or take out about 1 minute up the road at Gurnet Trading. Gurnet Trading also has other seafood cooked to order or fresh for purchase and it gets very favorable reviews . Erica’s (open Mother’s Day Weekend to Columbus Day Weekend) is well worth the 25 minute drive to the other side of Harpswell for freshly prepared seafood - a guest favorite! Steamed lobster at market prices with just a slight upcharge! The studio has a queen bed with soft cotton sheets in the bedroom area along with a newly added futon couch (double). There’s also a pullout queen size couch in the living room. Regarding the sleeping arrangements - it's your choice as to using EITHER the futon in the bedroom area or the queen sized pullout couch as the second bed option. Please let us know so we can leave linens for the second bed for your arrival. We think the space is perfect for two people or at most three good friends or three family members. Both parts of the studio have cathedral ceilings and ceiling fans. The bedroom area has a seasonal a/c window unit. The living area has rough-hewn beams that are original to the house and two skylights. There are privacy drapes separating the sleeping from the living space. The living room area has a 42 in HDTV with DirecTV including HBO. (subject to change) We provide an Amazon FireStick (current apps include NetFlix, Amazon Prime Video, Hulu - these are subject to change) and a dvd player (there are some dvds in the studio and many other dvds and cds readily available - just ask). Redbox is at several nearby locations. We offer both wifi and an ethernet "hardwire”. Please note that our studio is NOT child proofed. The studio adjoins our home and is separated by a wall and a pantry. Like any homeowners with a private well and septic system, we ask that you be mindful of water usage. That said, we have continuous hot water, so you will never run out of hot water and the water pressure is great for taking showers! Chlorine free! Excellent drinking water right from the tap! Two supermarkets are just up the road (7 minute drive - Shaw's or Walmart), so you can easily get provisions for your stay. Zach's store (2 minute drive) has an excellent selection of wine, beer, liquor (hard liquor prices are the same everywhere in Maine), pizza and some groceries. If you want a big breakfast, we will be happy to recommend one of the local breakfast spots. Cooks Corner shopping area in Brunswick with Sears, TJMAXX, BigLots, Bath and Bodyworks, Staples, Applebee’s, etc. is just 3.5 miles up the road, but we might as well be a world away across the Gurnet Bridge here in Harpswell. We provide a soft side cooler, cool packs and a couple beach towels. If you have kayaks or bicycles, bring them along! There are many public boat launches in the area (one is just a minute away) and some good areas for bicycling as well, particularly the nearby former Navy base. There are also three kayak and paddleboard rental places (two that deliver) and arranged kayak tours available as well as sailboat, schooner, ferry and charter boat tours. (seasonal) And to prospective home buyers - we have a few friends in the business!
We are in a residential area conveniently located to many of the area highlights. We are so spoiled here with scenery and little getaway places! There’s a year round seafood place less than a mile and one minute by car! Eat in or takeout! (5% cash discount). Close by there’s a general store with beer, wine, spirits - and pizza! We are in one of the lobster "capitals" of the world!!! Fresh off the boat and so tasty!! Shopping!! Just 6 minutes (3.5 miles) but worlds away to TJMAXX, Sears, Walmart, Bed Bath & Beyond, Bath and Bodyworks, Goodwill, BigLots, DollarTree, etc. Just 15 minutes (6.5 miles) to Target, Reny's, etc. Just 24 minutes (9.5 miles) to all the stores and outlets in Freeport including LL Bean flagship store (open 24 hours, 365 days per year) and the LL Bean outlet store. Breweries!! There are more than 20 breweries within a 45 minute drive, with some as close as 15 minutes away. Check out the Maine Beer Trail! We are very close to Flight Deck, Moderation, Sea Dog, Black Pug and Bath Brewing. Flight Deck is an especially fun place with outdoor and indoor seating. Feel free to bring your own food or order from the food truck.. Moderation is also BYOF. You will need a car to get around, but the driving is easy! You can choose to head towards "civilization" or head in the other direction away from the hustle and bustle - or do a little bit of both. Harpswell is a paradise for lobster lovers and for those who love seafood of all kinds. Unspoiled beauty abounds! Harpswell consists of Great Island, Orr's Island, Bailey Island and the peninsula of South Harpswell. We are surrounded by saltwater here! Late June, July, August and September are simply enchanting! Nearby Brunswick is a college town, so there's plenty to do there - lots of restaurants, several museums and beaches and trails that you can walk along every day of the year. We're just 8 miles (18 minutes by car) from Live Well Farm, a very popular wedding venue. We are directly across the road from the New Meadows River. This saltwater river goes out to Casco Bay and the Atlantic Ocean. Our home is located midway between the fun and charming town of Brunswick and the city of Bath (The City of Ships, voted "best main street" recently) We are on Great Island in Harpswell on the way to the Harpswell islands of Orr's Island and Bailey Island. The peninsula of South Harpswell is just across the Mountain Road. This area is a year-round destination for enjoying Maine hospitality and scenery. Grocery stores and many shops and restaurants are within 5 to 15 minutes by car. A favorite outdoor seafood place (byob, cash only)- Erica's - is located on the other side of Harpswell and is open from Mother's Day Weekend to Columbus Day Weekend. Erica's is a must see destination featured in Coastal Living Magazine in June 2018 issue. Harpswell and the neighboring towns of Topsham, Bath and Brunswick have many nature preserves, hiking trails, public boat launches, a riverfront bicycle trail, river and ocean views and walks. What's really great is that many of the natural scenery can be enjoyed for free - so you can plan a whole day for only the cost of your food - brown bag it, get takeout, or dine in a restaurant. There are 184 restaurants in total in the towns of Harpswell, Brunswick, Bath and Topsham according to TripAdvisor. For nature enthusiasts, get a taste of what you can see by going to the Harpswell Heritage Land Trust website. Brunswick also has Bowdoin College with Maine State Music Theatre and the International Music Festival throughout the summer. Bowdoin College also has two museums (an Arctic and an art museum) and the Chamberlain House Museum is just across the street. Bowdoin often has events and performances that are open to the public. So much to do -consignment store shopping, watching a movie at nearby Regal Cinemas feature film movie theater or the independent movie theater or scheduled dinner, live entertainment and film options at the Frontier cafe. Smitty's in Topsham offers movies and food at the same time! Four theaters to choose from with Regal Cinemas just a five minute drive away! We are just off Route 1, so we're in a great location to explore Mid Coast Maine for day trips. Visit Rockland/Camden/Rockport, Wiscasset, Boothbay Harbor, Damariscotta all within an hour and 20 minutes or less drive. The Maine Maritime Museum is located in Bath. It offers river cruises in the summer. The intriguing and fun city of Portland (with a tremendous number of restaurants, breweries, bars, museums, lighthouses, beaches etc.) is an easy 35 minute drive. Portland has become THE foodie destination- recently voted #1 by Bon Appetit magazine (2018). Augusta, Maine's capitol city, is also about 40 minutes away. Take a spectacular noontime scenic cruise of Casco Bay just down the road from us on Bailey Island (June 22 - Sept 2, 2019). USA's #1 voted favorite place (according to Good Morning America 2014 poll) Acadia National Park is a three hour drive. We're a good stopping point on the way to Acadia in Bar Harbor if you are heading north. There are some beaches and special places that are only accessible off season - yet another reason to visit any time of the year! Beaches are almost always walkable -even when there's snow on the ground. Schedule horseback riding on Popham Beach from October 1st through March 31st. We have many brochures and a helpful “cheat sheet”, so you can put off the planning until you arrive and then comfortably explore the area. Many of our guests have used our Harpswell Heritage Land Trust brochure with a map, description and directions to some amazingly beautiful places that require only an easy hike or drive to visit.
  • Alane and Bill are the perfect hosts. We were in the area for a wedding in Brunswick and the location was great. Close to the wedding and other sites we wanted to see in our short stay. We only wish we had more time. The next time we are in the area we will definitely be back. Tom and Tim

  • Bill and Alayne were exceptionally welcoming and hospitable. A few hours ahead of our arrival, we received a message from Bill and Alayne checking in on our ETA and offering us an earlier check-in if it was more convenient for us. The next morning, Alayne brought over warm, freshly baked blueberry cake, which was an absolute delight (and a snack I continued to munch on for a couple days!). The suite was comfortable, spacious, and clean. Harpswell is a beautiful town and perfectly situated to bounce around among Portland, Freeport, Bath, Rockland, Morse Mountain (recommended by Alayne), and other scenic areas. Our only regret was not booking an additional night!

    Ryan2015-11-08T00:00:00Z
  • Bill and Alane were gracious, welcoming, and thoughtful hosts. They made us feel right at home, despite our popping in and out for wedding festivities. Their suite was large, pristine, well-appointed, and gorgeous, with a spectacular view of the water across the street and lots of light. We would love to return and spend time with them when we are back in the area. Thank you for the memorable experience Bill and Alane!

    Kacy2015-10-18T00:00:00Z
  • The place of Alane and Bill is as exactly as described - location is perfect and you have everything you need. Both Alane and Bill are super friendly and provided us with every information we needed around the area. Cupcakes inclusive! Danke schön noch einmal für den schönen Aufenthalt! Bis bald, Gruß Daniel & Galabina

  • We had a lovely week at Bill's suite in Harpswell. I would recommend this suite for a couple who wants a romantic get away, or anyone who wants to escape to the beautiful Maine coast. Bill is an excellent host!

    L.G.2015-07-26T00:00:00Z
  • We are so glad we stayed at Bill and Alane's place. They were quick to respond to our booking and gave us detailed information about how to get to their (somewhat secluded) place. Although we were there when it was cold (so we didn't sit outside) they have a lovely and inviting place. They had a detailed list of places to eat; Alane sat down with us with a map of the area and pointed out great places to sight-see; and she gave us suggestions for lighthouses to view in our limited time there. Her fresh blueberry muffins were a pleasant surprise. The rooms were very clean and spacious, and the bed was very comfortable. If we're in Maine again, we hope to stay with Alane and Bill again.

    Mari Lyn2018-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • We have stayed here several times and it is never anything other than amazing!

    Nick2018-04-29T00:00:00Z
  • We spent two nights at Alane and Bill's suite while exploring the area. The location was easily accessible and an excellent launching point to explore Harpswell, Bailey Island, Orrs Island, etc. The space was comfortable and spacious -- just as described and indicated in the photos -- with abundant light flowing in from windows on 3 sides and 2 skylights. The suite was thoughtfully equipped and arranged; we felt relaxed and right at home here. The notes on local sights and dining, as well as the delicious muffins were a nice personal touch. Our hosts were friendly and welcoming. It's clear that they are seasoned Airbnb users, both as hosts and guests. We'd recommend Alane and Bill's place to our friends and family.

Cute and comfortable, 5 min. walk to restaurants, fast food, coffee shop, groceries and shopping centers. Also, bowling alley, miniature golf, driving range and cinema. Minutes by car to The Brunswick Executive Airport Downtown Brunswick Bowdoin College Maine State Music Theater Mid Coast Hospital Bailey Island Historic town of Bath
There is a full size kitchen with everything needed for cooking that fine meal. The living room is spacious, with a very comfortable couch and two recliners for relaxing after that fine meal. In the bathroom, there is a stacked washer and dryer for small loads. The two bedrooms have very comfortable full queen mattresses. The whole living area comfortably fits four adults and two children.
The house is located on a main street so, there is the usual sound of traffic but by 5:00 pm this quiets down quite a bit. Out behind the the house, a train passes by one or two times only during the day. Within walking distance or a short drive, there are a good number of restaurants, shops and entertainment.
  • This was a charming cottage around which the commercial world grew--Walmart, Pizza Hut, and OTB. Yet once inside we were insulated from all the noise. Host provided complete larder for our use. Great prep kitchen with good workspace, can't really seat more than four people for dining.

  • Amazing everything

    Artur2018-06-15T00:00:00Z
  • Very clean and convenient with a lot of information on local activities and restaurants. Peter checked that we had everything we needed.

  • Wonderful space for a great price. Clean, comfy, with caring host

    Cynthia2018-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • This was really perfect for our needs. Extremely affordable and thoughtfully welcoming. One of the bedrooms does get quite a bit if street noise but some white noise blocks it out pretty well and the other bedroom is quiter. Peter was a very accommodating, detail oriented, and helpful host.

    Jesse2018-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • This house is a great place to be if you are on the go and exploring the area. It has quick access to major roads to get around Brunswick and Bath. It is comfy and clean and the hosts are nice and thoughtful in their accommodations.

    Emily2018-06-17T00:00:00Z
  • This house is small, and in a quirky location, but it has a very comfortable feel and all the amenities needed. It was perfect for my 85-year-old father, who needed a single-level place that was easy to get around. We didn't meet the hosts, but we were greeted with lovely notes and gifts left on the kitchen table. The location in Bath was convenient to everywhere we wanted to travel in the area. The house is on a main street, so you should be prepared for some traffic noise. There are railroad tracks behind the house, but we never heard any trains. For the price of a hotel room, we had a whole home. This was my first Airbnb experience, and due to Peter, I will definitely use this service again. Peter did a great job of making us feel welcome and well taken care of.

Set in Mid-Coast Maine, this cabin in the woods combines the quiet and beauty of the natural world in Maine (pond, river and woods at your front door, 30 minutes from ocean beaches) with proximity (2 miles) to great restaurants and cultural activities. The cabin is upscale rustic, mostly off-the-grid and entirely comfortable. Perfect for a solo retreat for nature-lovers, writers or artists or for a romantic getaway for two.
Do you know how peaceful a home can feel when it's surrounded by nature, uninterrupted even by electricity, microwave, television? In spring, "peepers" fill the night soundscape, joined in summer by bullfrogs in the pond. On your deck facing the pond, you will see our friendly neighborhood heron in stillness, the mating pair of ducks (and perhaps their ducklings!), and perhaps an osprey or eagle soaring overhead. A neighborhood right-of-way gives you access to the most beautiful river in this part of Maine, only steps away from the road, where a small beach offers swimming and kayak or canoe access. On your other deck, if you can tear yourself from bed, you may see the sun rise through the trees. The space is cozy, self-contained, and very comfortable, making the best use of the small space. The bed is a new, firm and deliciously sleep-inducing double/queen. If you want to keep the cabin as a more spacious day room with twin bed rather than double bed, we can make that happen if you give us notice.
Every day we say "We live here!". It's peaceful, beautiful, and close to everything you might want, whether it's good coffee or a great movie, Brunswick's varied and excellent restaurant scene, Bowdoin College's many activities, or any number of hikes, drives and walks, not to mention the ocean, a 30 minute drive to any number of Maine's best beaches, rocky promontories, seafood in the rough eateries, and quiet seaside vistas.
  • Nancy and Dulcie were very intelligent, wonderful Hosts. Their breakfasts were special, including freshly baked pastries featuring the fresh blueberries from their yard. The living space was comfortable and privately separate from their residential house. The beautifully "cabin" situated in the woods of central Maine included a quiet burch and furn covered path leading to a peaceful river with a sand beach. The nearby small towns and islands with spectacular sunsets were beautiful. Boothbay and Baileys Island were especially nice. The three hour "mailboat" trip to the islands off Portsmouth, nearby restaurants serving delicious seafood, reminded me of the special attractions of Maine. I encourage you to experience this yourselves.

    Richard2016-08-08T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful weekend stay at Nancy and Dulcie's cabin! We loved how small, simple and well organized the space was and how generous and welcoming our hosts were to us (e.g setting up a tent with an air mattress so we had some extra space, letting us borrow their kayaks, providing a lovely cold breakfast). The river is right across the street, and beautiful, and the ocean and the city are a short trip away too! We would definitely come stay with them again.

    Anna2016-08-22T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay - communication was excellent and responsive. We had to change our arrival time, and everything was totally smooth. Dulcie, who met us at the cabin, was lovely, helpful, and guided us down the nearby path to the river. The cabin was small, cozy, with thoughtful touches. We loved everything about our stay and look forward to coming back.

    Molly2018-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • I had an extended stay here and it was such a great experience. The cabin feels very secluded. You can opt to hang out by the woods and river for respite. Or travel just a couple miles in be in Brunswick for lots of neat art galleries, restaurants, etc. Best of both worlds! Nancy and Dulcie are extremely kind people. Can hardly put into words how awesome my experience was. You won’t regret staying here!

    Mary2019-07-14T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful and magical woodland space hosted by two beautiful people. Great communication, welcome, and hospitality. Having access to the pristine river, ample hiking, a hotub, and cozy cabin was a treat for a Maine respite.

    Doug2016-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • We loved every part of our stay. Nancy & Dulcie are incredible hosts — they were available within minutes when we had trouble starting the stove and shower, and the little scones/cookies they left for us were a sweet touch on a magical trip. The cabin is super simple and comfortable, and the outdoor amenities and closeness to the Androscoggin River made it a great space to relax in and also explore around. We also appreciated all of the hiking recommendations, and the proximity to Portland let us hit that sweet spot of seclusion and urbanity. A great place to unplug and hang — we feel lucky to have found this place!

    Jane2019-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • I felt so much at home here, and at peace in the woods! I needed some quiet time and Nancy and Dukcie were the perfect hosts for that! They responded quickly when I needed something, and otherwise gave me lots of room to take the space for my retreat. The cabin is small and cute (and the bed is super comfy) and they made the house available for the things the cabin doesn't have, so It felt like I had my own house and another house too! What a beautiful setting!!! Truly a peaceful woodland retreat!

  • The apartment was very cute and clean, with amazing views out the windows. The hosts provided many extra amenities beyond what was expected! Even though they were unable to greet us personally upon arrival, they arranged for their daughter to welcome us, which was very kind. I would recommend staying here!

    Rebecca2016-10-10T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful week at Jane's and Frank's home! Their apartment is beautiful. Every item is thoughtfully arranged, and we enjoyed looking out at the inlet and gardens each morning. Jane was an excellent host. She provided us with breakfast items upon our arrival, recommended the Maine Botanical Gardens (a highlight of our trip!) and a few other restaurants, helped us use her pool, and even baked us cookies for our drive back. We highly recommend their apartment and would return in the future.

  • What a beautiful experience! This was my first trip out of town with my five-year old daughter and my first try at booking an airbnb - I am not sure the next one can beat this one! Jane and Frank were great hosts, the apartment was lovely, the property beautiful. My daughter just learned to swim this summer and the pool was a perfect addition to everything else. If I hadn't had to return home for work I would still be there... I definitely want to plan next year's return trip and I should probably do it sooner than later before everyone reading this review beats me to it!

    David2017-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • Jane and Frank have truly made a home away from home, so cozy that it felt like we were staying with family. The home itself is nestled in a clearing in the woods, with views of the water. There's no better way to wake up, having a cup of coffee while looking out at the water. Their hospitality is unparalleled, with breakfast goodies provided and lots of great recommendations for day outings. Thank you Jane and Frank for making our trip unforgettable and being one more reason it was so hard to come home.

    Maija2019-06-25T00:00:00Z
  • The rental apartment was well furnished, clean, and comfortable. There were plenty of windows to let in light and breezes and there was an air conditioner in the bedroom. The view from the kitchen and living room of one of the tidal bays was beautiful. Frank and Jane were what made the stay memorable. They were pleasant, friendly, and helpful, and they gave us plenty of privacy.

    Allen2014-08-22T00:00:00Z
  • We had high expectations based off the previous glowing reviews, but Jane and Frank still managed to exceed them. As many others have mentioned, this is a great place for toddlers with plenty of toys, books, and a single step that our daughter loved climbing up and down. The bathroom was well stocked with toiletries, and there was enough food in the fridge for us to make delicious breakfasts each morning. The location was also great--close to Portland, Brunswick, and Bailey's Island. What we most appreciated, however, was the kindness that Jane and Frank showed to our daughter. We can't wait to come back!

  • A beautiful, rustic cottage in the woods of Maine. Secluded but not far from the town of Bath or any necessary amenities. If you are looking for a cottage on the water then this is the place.

    Kyle2019-07-15T00:00:00Z
  • This is a classic Maine waterfront cottage. Cozy and rustic with amazing water views. Watching sunsets sitting out on the dock was wonderful and we were out there again each morning with our coffees . The screened in porch was perfect for candlelight dinners and reading in the afternoon. The insides are rustic but very comfortable. The place was spotless with all the amenities needed for a comfortable stay. Shops and restaurants of Bath are just a short drive away as well. Great location. We’re planning on returning later this summer!

    Michael2019-07-02T00:00:00Z
  • The photo of the location is accurate - it's just lovely. There are houses on either side, hidden by trees, so there is a sense of privacy and spaciousness. The wide, screened in, furnished porch/verandah is marvelous. Be aware that there is only one bathroom in the house.

    Michael2019-07-09T00:00:00Z
  • Cue the Minke Whales, crew teams and a marvelous view. This rustic cabin is super charming and warms up with a wonderful heater in a flash. For the warm weather screens and ceiling fans were wonderful. The screened porch is where we spent most of our time. The porch is amazing!!! Candlelight dinners and no bugs!!! Or enjoy the water right out the door. Jump off the dock, take out the kayak or just sit on the dock! You can not beat the charm of this cabin and great walks in the area. 12 minutes to town with out in the wilderness feelings. If you need anything, help is just a call away.

  • Location location location. This place is ALL ABOUT the location. It’s a camp... it’s uninsulated, quite rustic. Think “on golden pond”. And...will go back in a heart beat. Wished we could have stayed longer!!!

  • Perfect! We stayed here with a large group ages 82 to 8. It might be a little more difficult for guests that have issues with stairs but all in our group were ok with that. The house is so much better in person and a very special place. Surprised to walk in and see a large bowl of peonies! So special. So many places to just hang out. Highly recommended!

Lovely studio overlooking a beautiful salt water cove and Audubon's Hamilton Sanctuary. Full kitchen, dining space, living room, sleeping area and gym. Use of two kayaks and canoe. Perfect for an active couple.
Located in the lower level of the home with separate entrance via stone steps on the water side of the property. The space is private and set apart from the owners quarters. A parking space is provided to the right of the driveway for easy access. A gently sloping wooded path leads to steps to the shore where you will find two kayaks and a canoe for your use during the summer and early fall months.
Located on a lovely protected cove in West Bath and near Audubon's Hamilton Sanctuary. Great blue herons, eagles, cormorants, and eiders are all commonly seen on the cove. The home is less than ten minutes to Brunswick or to Bath in either direction where you will find a myriad of shopping, restaurants, museums and theater. Popham Beach State Park is approximately twenty five minutes away where you will find one of the most beautiful and extensive white sand beaches in the State. Freeport is twenty minutes to the south, home to LL Bean and lots of shopping and restaurants. Wolf Neck State Park, also in Freeport, is a great spot for hiking and enjoying the shoreline.
  • The home is screened from neighbors, tucked into native bedrock outcrops with rustic stone walkways down to the ocean bay. I loved having morning coffee on a small deck overlooking the bay. The studion is private, nicely decorated & very comfortable. We used the state park pass to enjoy a local ocean beach, we didn't have time to try the kayaks, but appreciated that they were available.

  • The space is so lovely! Denise is very hospitable and the location can not be beat. Perfect for outdoor adventures and relaxation!

    Tate2018-07-20T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful secluded location and an outstanding host. Denise was there to greet us, let us in and answer any questions about the area. She even included passes to the local state park beaches. The house was clean and decorated nicely....If you needed anything, all you had to do was ask. As an added perk, there were kayaks and a canoe to explore the beautiful Cove in her back yard. Downtown Portland was a simple 20 minute drive. I would suggest this to anyone wanting to explore Southern Maine.

    Kevin2017-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • If you want seclusion and quiet on a gorgeous cove, look no further! This is a beautiful escape! The amenities are outstanding including thoughtful touches like freshly baked banana bread. The space is larger than pictured and comes with an awesome recliner couch. Everything was simply perfect and it was a wonderful experience. There are kayaks to use, a grill and a fire pit. Every detail was thought out and much appreciated. We hope to return!!

    Sara2018-06-25T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful and serene area, and a great place to stay. We loved the studio space and were delighted by the espresso machine, gym, and the accessibility to kayaks.

    Kelsey2017-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • Denise is a warm and welcoming hostess and the studio apartment is in a lovely, quiet spot overlooking a quiet cove with great natural beauty and close to many local attractions. We borrowed Denise's kayaks and spent over four hours paddling around the serene and tranquil coves right out the back door. We appreciated the delicious homemade banana bread with butter and jam which Denise provided for our breakfast. The bed was super comfortable. We had a great time!

    Bozena2019-08-16T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay. Denise is a very generous host. The space is as clean as you could possibly get and it is modern and full of many amenities, like a fantastic kitchen, exercise space and beautiful outdoor area that overlooks the bay. It was the last weekend of September, but we were still able to take a spin in the kayaks and it was the highlight of the weekend. My husband and I were celebrating our anniversary and loved our time at Denise's place, but it would also be a great spot for one person who wanted to get away and have a weekend (or week!) of self-care. We would highly recommend staying at Denise's place. The location was a ten minute drive into Bath which is one of our favorite Maine towns; cute shops, delicious cafes and restaurants and a great park right on the water to relax.

    Laura2018-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • Denise was the perfect host. Communication/check in was smooth and she thought of everything! Fresh baked bread and everything we needed for our stay. The house is situated on a beautiful cove and in a great location to explore Maine. Would love to return!

We had everything we needed and more to make a great dinner in the kitchen and then enjoy it on the screened-in porch overlooking the water. Fran provided breakfast for us in the morning as well. • Fran’s place was much nicer than I imagined. We have stayed in many AirBnBs and sometimes photos paint a rosy picture. The opposite is true if Fran’s space. I expected the space to be comfortable and well decorated but it was beautiful and the view breathtaking. Thank you for sharing a special place with passersby. We would love to be back for a longer stay.

The room/bathroom was sooooo clean with plenty of towels for using both the jacuzzi tub and the shower as well. The property is gorgeous and the cats are a hoot. We were there during that Harvest Moon, and it was amazing being able to see that right from the bed! Wonderful!!

  • Such a beautiful setting with water views on both sides. Very manicured landscaping. Extremely clean inside and out. Very spacious bedroom, bathroom and sitting areas. This post & beam home is so cozy we could have stayed for weeks. JuliAnne is most gracious as is her hubby and mother! Attention to detail is most notable as is the breakfast. They sure know how to treat their guest! We will be back again someday! Thank you! Terry & Ruthy Robinson - New Hampshire

  • I was looking for a place that could be quiet and serene but with all the amenities for easy staying as well as a real Maine experience. The views and property were magical and I slept like a baby. I had everything within a short distance including some of the best restaurants, antique stores, and beaches. As a writer I found that is was perfect for a cup of coffee and my computer sitting on the deck watching the waterbirds and the ocean or simply sunning on the dock. I cannot recommend Sea Kiss Point enough or the family that made my stay so perfect. I will be back often. Maya

Stay in this blissful spot near Bowdoin. Watch the sunset, use my kayak, go for a swim, drive to nearby Popham Beach or relax on the deck. The apartment includes two bedrooms (queen and double), kitchenette, full bath, wifi, use of deck and grill.
This house is located on Back Cove in West Bath. The property faces west allowing for incredible nightly sunsets. The space for rent is the bottom floor within my house. It has a separate entrance, 2 water view bedrooms, a large living room, kitchenette, full bath and outside area. The apartment will comfortably fit 4 people, but additional people are possible.
Back cove is a rural neighborhood with both summer and year round homes. My house house is located right on the water with a convenient staircase to get to the waters edge. I am near idyllic walking areas such as the Hamilton Audobon Sanctuary and Merritt Island (part of Maine Island Trails). There are superb beaches within 25 minutes drive (Popham Beach, Head Beach, Reid State Park). Or, this location is a short drive from the quaint downtown areas of both Bath and Brunswick and the outlet shopping mecca in Freeport. There are many local eateries ranging from wharfside seafood take out to Asian Fusion that will satisfy both foodies and scavengers alike.
  • Amazing experience. The hostess was wonderful. The apartment beautiful and comfortable. We could not believe the location. It has a world class view. The pictures undersell the place. We were so happy with our stay.

  • Beautiful views and a very nice, comfortable stay. Friendly, efficient and all good

    David2017-07-23T00:00:00Z
  • What an absolutely beautiful location! Very clean home, comfy beds. Pictures are accurate to house experience - kitchenette is small (I think it's assumed ya'll want to go out and have lobster on the dock, yum!) Living room area spacious with great screen door and plenty of windows. Katrina was very helpful and quick to communicate via email before we arrived. She dealt well with my back and forth and sloppy communication. Grateful for her understanding and flexibility. We didn't meet during our stay, but I was there only two nights during the week! Susan, Katrina's mother, was welcoming upon arrival. One morning she even surprised us with croissants! The internet connection was a tad spotty sometimes, but generally serviceable. It did not work our last day. Though Katrina did try to come over and reset the modem. I only mention this because some people rely on internet access. Only note on the house is that the screen porch and deck are *not* attached to the portion of the house that is for air bnb guests. I think I assumed this from the pictures. I am guessing if we had asked Susan if we could sit on the porch she would have happily agreed, but it did feel like an intrusion of space in a small way - I was making the assumption it was attached when I made the booking. The quick jaunt to the waterfront was fun for a morning dip - I really enjoyed that private access. We didn't have a chance to use the kayak, but what an awesome addition to the whole setup. Popham Beach was a gorgeous and I highly recommend it to future guests!

    Sophia2015-07-16T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay was picture perfect from the beautiful house to the spectacular view at sunset. Susan greeted us warmly and Katrina was an absolute expert on the area, giving us tons of excellent suggestions. We kept very active and loved going down to the water and kayaking. We did most of Katrina's list, but the highlights were the Maritime Museum, Morse Mountain Beach, Farnsworth, and especially the Merrit Island hike. We loved the rare beauty and the solitude of our stay. Meg Kelly

  • My fiancee and I had a great three-night stay at Katrina and Susan's Airbnb. The apartment was clean and spacious and we loved having access to a screened-in porch and large deck. We were able to grill out every night and enjoyed the privacy and beautiful water views of the apartment.

  • Katrina’s place has a great layout with large rooms and an amazing view of the water. We loved the secluded feel of the home in the woods, while still being close to restaurants, stores and major roads.

  • This place was so peaceful and exactly what we needed. A great place to get away and relax. We should have brought bikes to tour around a bit!

  • Wow! Beyond expectations! Susan and Katrina are outstanding hosts. The view and home are magnificent. Two spacious bedrooms with a bathroom in the hall. Perfect for two couples or a family. • We had a wonderful weekend at Lorraine's rustic but comfortable cabin. What was particularly nice was the feel of privacy despite being so close to civilization! We prefer vacations way out somewhere remote, but do not always have the time for the 8-10 hours it takes to get there. And it was nice to have hikes, restaurants and other activities close by if we wanted to venture out. The bird life was amazing, bald eagles back and forth all day, blue herons, osprey. And the inlet where the cabin is located is a nice place to explore on the 2 kayaks provided. We will ABSOLUTELY be back and have already recommended Lorraine's cabin to several friends.

    Susan2019-07-29T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin was terrific! Right on the water, plenty of space, and a perfect spot to get away from everything. We'll definitely be back if we're in the area.

    Brandon2019-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • This place was gorgeous and we had the most amazing stay! It was only one night but we will never forget it! The cabin is cozy and the view is breathtaking! Our pup Murphy had an even better time swimming and playing! Lorraine was incredibly sweet and she was so flexible with our check in as we were running a bit behind and I had to change our ETA a couple times. She even allowed us an extra hour for check out time because we arrived a little later than expected! Don’t hesitate to stay here for your visit! it’s magical!

    Kelli2019-06-25T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great few days staying at Lorraine's hut in the woods. It was exactly as described, and made for a relaxing and comfortable stay. No frills, as expected, but everything we needed was there, and the location to town was very convenient. The windows all around let all the natural light in, and the screens gave fresh air without letting any of the bugs in (I was worried with so many mosquitos all around but everything was very well maintained). A lovely little hut!

    Meghan2019-07-04T00:00:00Z
  • We had an amazing time in Lorraine’s cabin. The location was stunning and so secluded for a weekend away. We enjoyed a hike around the area, watching the stars from the doc and taking in the landscape! Couldn’t recommend more.

    Heidi2019-05-25T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin location is perfect! Great water access, it is a simple summer cabin so don't expect a luxurious experience but that is exactly what makes it a magical, peaceful place to hide away from the busy summer crowds! Lorraine is very clear of what you should expect and we were completely happy with the cabin and its amenities.

    Jake2019-09-07T00:00:00Z
  • Lorraine’s hut was amazing! We had the most beautiful day fishing, kayaking, and just relaxing. This spot is next level. I can’t wait to go back!

    Claes2019-06-09T00:00:00Z
  • Lorraine's place was amazing, very secluded and quiet, which is exactly what I need, the view is awesome, and Lorraine was very helpful, she communicates well and even brought me a brand new vacuum upon check-in. Chances are, I will be coming back

    Peggy2017-06-28T00:00:00Z
  • Robert's place was absolutely picturesque!! It is surrounded by water and forests and is the perfect getaway location. We were able to go fishing right near the house and went looking for mussels in the water once the tide went down -- which was so much fun! The house is perfect for four people and is very comfortable!! Finally, Robert was such a wonderful host all around! I would recommend to anyone looking for a restful vacation with beautiful sights; and we ourselves hope to come back sometime!

But apart that, host was very convenient and very fast to answer, the house was filled with anything we needed and the pie was delicious! • Quintessentially Maine! Beautiful peaceful location—mornings and evenings on the porch hearing the fish jump and watching the herons (and occasional eagle), roasting marshmallows at the fire pit, teaching grandsons to do knots on the floating dock—priceless! Great house for our family of 7 to explore southern Maine. Comfortable with all the amenities! Lovely place!

  • This wonderful home sits over the water with a big porch to sit on and enjoy the day dawning and later the evening sunset. So beautiful and peaceful. The kitchen is big and fits several cooks and the house holds a big happy group of people easily with comfortable places to gather inside and out. Easy stroll down to the dock. Nice positive notes to help navigate the house details - from recycling and composting to wifi access and the lock system. We loved our days at 20 Seal Cove.

  • A beautiful home located on a beautiful lot. The large pond provides a serene backdrop to morning coffee or evening drinks. The home is spacious and well equipped with anything you may need. It’s located minutes from downtown Brunswick and convenient to restaurants and grocery store. I would recommend this home to anyone’s looking to stay in Topsham.

  • We loved our stay at Nancy’s home. It has a beautiful open layout, comfortable and spacious bedrooms and is located in a quiet neighborhood not too far from Brunswick, Bath or other local destinations. We love cooking and felt comfortable availing ourselves of the well stocked and appointed kitchen- one where cooking seems to be a cherished affair! We enjoyed an evening soak in the hot tub and walking a super short distance to the river. Most special was the warm and thoughtful welcome... cookies and fresh cut flowers immediately set the tone for a relaxing and fun get away! Hope to come back again soon!

  • We had a great stay at Nancy's beautiful haven. She was very accommodating and responsive to our needs. Check-in &check-out was painless and easy... Her place is also close enough to beaches & shops. We will definitely be back, but next time for a longer stay!

  • Karen helped us out while the owners were away and was extremely helpful. We arrived quite late but it wasn't an issue. The space is much larger than I anticipated and the many seating areas and open concept were a great surprise. We were in town for a cycling event in Freeport, but all agreed we were lucky to have chosen this home in Topsham. The owners' recommendations were also spot-on, pointing us to the Sea Dog Brewery and Portland Pie. Thanks!

  • The location was so lovely, and welcome so warm. The river walk across the street, as well as the grounds with pond lived up to the term idyllic--especially with the added benefit of fall foliage. The location is an easy drive to Bowdoin college, and allowed us to have a mini family reunion. We enjoyed our visit and the accommodations immensely.

  • Nancy and Dulcie are very lovely people, generous and caring. The house is stunning, the pond, river and surroundings are magnificent. It was a pleasure to get to know them. We'll be back again, thank you so much for having us!

  • We had a wonderful stay in the house. The house and the yard a very spacious. Dulcie and Nancy welcomed us warmly and gave us useful information. The short way to the river and the opportunity to use the Kajaks were great! Thanks again for a relaxing week.

  • Nancy's place was a pleasure on our recent trip to Topsham. Not only was there plenty of space for our 4 adults and 5 year old in the house, but her park like setting allowed us to have 4 other local family members join us for fun games of soccer and bocce in the yard, watching frogs jump into the pond, and walks down to the river to dunk ourselves. Mornings were also spent lounging on the back deck with coffee. I would highly recommend for anybody traveling through the area, especially if you have the time to relax and enjoy the space.

  • Lori's house is the perfect spot for a Maine family vacation. Remote enough to be quiet and relaxing, yet just a few miles from quintessential Bath. The house itself was perfect, with a great kitchen, dining room, and great room. Plus a lovely deck with a great view. Everything in the listing was just as described, and then some, including a small basketball court that our young boys loved. We'd definitely stay here again!

Two bedroom house sleeps four, perched over the water with sunset views of eagles and osprey. Small deck leads to the tidal waterfront. Seaspray Kayak Rentals less than a mile away. New Meadows marina just up river with boat rentals. Private road.
  • Beautiful views and location. Swimming not that inviting, but a sunny, breeze-filled house with a great view of the water and the eagles! Friendly and helpful. Kitchen is well-equipped for dining, less so for cooking. Mattress extremely comfortable, plenty of towels and blankets. Kayaking, ice cream, town close by. Beaches a little bit more of a drive, but very nice ones.

    Catherine2016-07-02T00:00:00Z
  • Very relaxing cabin that is perfect for some peaceful Rest and relaxation. The setting is beautiful right on the water. There isn't easy access or a dock leading right into the water so we never went swimming. However we did rent kayaks from the place right down the road which was fun. Bath is a really cute town and also close to Brunswick. This cabin is an easy 40 minute drive to Portland. We never met Michael but his parents live right next door and are easily available for any needs.

    Emma2017-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • The property was just as advertised with a great location and fantastic views of the river. We were exploring the Maine mid-Coast area and the location proved to be ideal. The house had everything we needed and was comfortably furnished and we felt right at home.

    David2016-10-10T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent find!! Peaceful stay, amazing view to watch the river and just relax!! Very safe and private home. Best escape type vacation, close to the stores and many fantastic restaurants. Kitchen has plenty of everything we needed to use to cook with. Shower was a little challenge, but never ran out of hot water and we did get cleaned each day. :)

    Gonnapa2016-07-20T00:00:00Z
  • While we didn't meet Michael, his mother was there to greet us and make us feel welcome. Very clean, very cozy and what a wonderful view of the water. We would have stayed longer if we could have! If we ever get back to the area, we'd stay here in a heartbeat.

    Dan2016-10-25T00:00:00Z
  • Our one-week stay here in August was very relaxing, with a lovely view of the water and great swimming when the tide is up. The delightful town of Bath is only a few minutes away by car, and a great kayak rental place is less than a mile away. Michael was very responsive and the house very comfortable and the location wonderfully peaceful. All in all, it was great, and we look forward to coming back.

    Bobbi2015-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful view, lots of windows on the side facing the water. The house has a few minor repairs needed but nothing that interfered with our stay.

    Jacqueline2015-07-29T00:00:00Z
  • The place was nicer than we thought it would be. It was clean and fairly well stocked. The view is to die for!!! The sunsets were amazing, as was just sitting and looking out over the water. You can't really swim right out in front because it is mud that sinks but if you rent a kayak and go out in the river, there are places you can stop and swim and it is incredible. You're a 5 minute drive to stuff. It is a very relaxing and comfortable place. Thank you!!!

The Blue Heron Cottage has gorgeous views and easy access to the saltwater, shopping malls and quaint downtowns nearby. A first class Maine Maritime Museum, theater, golfing, beaches, hiking trails and biking are also close by. This a quiet location perfect for vacationing families and retirees. The owner is a boat Captain and offers custom tours and fishing on his 21 foot vessel. Stay at the Blue Heron cottage, smell the salt air and relax on the front porch with a book or binoculars.
  • Jim & Beth's place is amazing. A lively cottage right on thewater with its own dock! The house is lovely, the cove is quiet, there are just enough neighbors around so that you don't feel isolated. The supermarket is about ten minutes away , the charming town of Bath is 15-20, and Schutty's fish stand and a good local ice cream shop are just 5 minutes away. We can't say enough about what a magical place the Blue Heron cottage is. We can't wait to come back!

This is a very quiet space . You won't hear other individuals however you will hear birds and fish jumping. Maybe a seal snorting.
  • Pat is a terrific host and her place is a great spot to enjoy some high-quality time in Maine. We rented kayaks and launched them from the dock. Drove to the beach. And enjoyed spending time on the well-maintained property.

    Nathan2019-07-07T00:00:00Z
  • Pat's place is a large, airy "garage" apartment overlooking a spectacular cove in Maine. The stairs are a bit steep but once you are inside the apartment it is a well-appointed flat -- with a functional kitchen, cute living area, really large bedroom, Her taste is great! And you can see the water and flowers everywhere -- cannot stress enough how light, airy, and fabulous this is. The property is actually ten amazing acres of beautiful flowers, woods, and a very large open yard. In three directions you can see water. Pat is a wonderful hostess -- very attentive but gives you lots of space to enjoy your time. Two large grocery stores within 10 minutes, an ice cream place 3 minutes away and a very serviceable lobster shack, Schutty's, right around the corner mean that you can spend most of your time right on the property -- kayaking, swimming, going hiking, or just enjoying this beautiful spot! IThe Audubon Society has a preserve on the adjoining property, so if you're into birds you will be in heaven. I took two three mile runs -- it's hilly but very gentle running and not many cars to negotiate, so if you are a biker, this would be a great place to ride. We loved it and could have stayed for the whole summer!
