Vikings Stadium Convention Center Downtown Minneapolis Nicollet Mall North Central University Hennepin County Hospital University of MN Easy Lite Rail ride to MSP Airport and Mall of America The South Ninth Street Historic District exhibits one of the city’s best and most cohesive collections of multiple-family dwellings from the turn of the century. Generally located along Ninth and 10th streets between the intersections of Park Avenue and Fifth Avenue During the mid-1880s, the young City of Minneapolis was booming. The flour milling industry had hit full stride, bringing thousands of hopeful newcomers to town in search of new jobs and new homes. A rapid influx of new residents between 1880 and 1890 created a severe shortage of housing. As architects and builders scrambled to meet the demands, a new type of building – the row house – was introduced to the Minneapolis streetscape. The first residents to settle in the South Ninth Street District were affluent professionals drawn to the area by its proximity to the downtown business district. Many of these wealthy businessmen, such as Samuel Morse, vice president of the Minneapolis Flour and Manufacturing Company, enjoyed living in row houses designed for wealthy inhabitants adjacent to the 10th Street and Park Avenue mansion. The most outstanding feature of the South Ninth Street District is its uniformity of type, scale, material, age and design. Between 1886 and 1915, local architects including William Channing Whitney and Frederick Clark designed townhouses, row houses and flats based on Classical, Renaissance and Romanesque models. The red brick buildings feature an assortment of diverse details rendered in red stone and terra cotta.

The duplex is located downtown just minutes from the heart of Minneapolis. Here, you are nearly 3 blocks from the US Bank Stadium! For convenience, there is a popular burger joint 100 ft. away, a CVS down the block, several minutes from dive bars, and a cafe half a block away. There's free wifi, a PS4, and Netflix on our bigscreen TV for leisure, and a park a couple blocks away for those who like spending time outdoors. The only limit is street parking.
Not only are you near the downtown area, you'll also have access to famous local restaurants, bars, and eateries. Downtown is known for its extravagant array of sports stadiums (Target Field and US Bank Stadium), but also great shows--musical or non (Orpheum and Skyway), and late night clubs (Aqua and Cowboy Jacks).
There are several parks nearby and a small community college. The area is lively and very easily accessible for public transportation and bike riding.

You are going to love staying blocks from the US Bank Stadium, Guthrie, Convention Center, Mississippi River and all the downtown restaurants, cafes and shopping Minneapolis has to offer. Enjoy our classic historic brownstone built during Minneapolis' flour and timber mill boom. Although the exterior is on the historic register, we work to preserve the character and charm of this 19th Century gem.
Step back into history in our 1885 9th Street Historic Brownstone. The bathroom is a minimalist late 1800's style with antique clawfoot tub/shower. Finally you will love the roominess that extends from the 10' tall ceilings. Hardwood Floors Tall Ceilings Efficient Kitchen Antique Claw-foot Tub Fibre-Optic Wifi Owner Occupied and managed Great Neighbors! VERY CLEAN!! Off Street Parking Included Clean Laundry in basement, 2.00 wash, 2.00 dry. BORR0W A BIKE - loaners to travel the city! Great neighbors, all tenants properly screened. AWESOME LOCATION! My Historic Brownstone is located in the South Ninth Street Historic District downtown Minneapolis and is registered on the National Register of Historic Places.
The South Ninth Street Historic District exhibits one of the city’s best and most cohesive collections of multiple-family dwellings from the turn of the century. Generally located along Ninth and 10th streets between the intersections of Park Avenue and Fifth Avenue, the district also extends south to include properties along East 14th and East 16th streets. Southeast of the central business district, the South Ninth Street area served as an important zone of transition between the downtown commercial core and outlying lower density residential districts. The area remains unique for being the only neighborhood in Minneapolis with a linkage of serial housing, featuring prominent local architects. Cont'd Below During the mid-1880s, the young City of Minneapolis was booming. Many of these wealthy businessmen, such as Samuel Morse, vice president of the Minneapolis Flour and Manufacturing Company, enjoyed living in row houses designed for wealthy inhabitants adjacent to the 10th Street and Park Avenue mansions. The district also appealed to members of the middle class, such as clerks and bookkeepers who worked for the railroads and milling companies headquartered downtown. Residing in more modest flats, these people enjoyed low rent prices offered by developers and easy access to the workplace provided by the new streetcar lines. The Park Avenue fourplex (912-914 Park Ave. S.) and the Lee Residence (623-625 Ninth St. S.) represent examples designed by William Channing Whitney, while the Mayhew (614-626 Ninth St. S.) and the Linne Flats (728-740 E. 16th St.) represent examples designed by Frederick Clark. Although the South Ninth Street neighborhood has changed over the years, it still illustrates the coming of age of Minneapolis. Its location anticipated the development of a large city by indicating a separation between commercial and residential zones. The appearance of the row house as an alternative to single-family residences marked the evolution of the urban city from its village roots. Within the South Ninth Street Historic District, the "City of Lakes" made its transition from frontier town to urban center. Located in Elliot Park Neighborhood, our apartment is right on the cuff of downtown Minneapolis. It's just a couple minutes walk from US Bank Stadium/Train Station (connects directly to airport), and a short ride to the chain of lakes and Minnehaha Falls. Our home is a very spacious, artistic, and welcoming studio apartment. We have a sectioned off bedroom, a full kitchen and full bathroom. Across the street from, in our opinion, the best diner in town (The Bandbox).
We are on the third floor, corner unit of a newly renovated 1916 brownstone condominium. Walk up two sets of stairs and you'll arrive at Apt. #31. We have a really comfy memory foam Queen mattress and full housekeeping/cleaning. Our kitchen is 100% open for you to use, we have all of the pots, pans and utensils you could ever need. Also, we have an espresso/steaming machine, rice cooker, blender, toaster oven and clean water! And of course, FAST WIFI!
We're right next to Elliot Park, the first park in Minneapolis! There's a Coffee Shop right down the road with great drinks (Segue Cafe) and many churches for all the people. Being that we're in downtown it's important to know that it can be noisy and busy at times. We outfitted the bedroom with noise and light blocking curtains, and we'll have some ear plugs set out to ensure you get a great night's sleep!
