  • Loved my stay. Cozy place in a great area.

    Keith2016-04-26T00:00:00Z
  • Communication and accuracy were great. Mayra was extremely communicative and even allowed me to extend my stay at the last minute. The one thing to note is that there were a few roaches, weird bugs, and a bit of dust coming out of the vents. Outside of that I would say4.5/5! Would stay here again.

    Aaron2016-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • Mayra is a wonderful and attentive host who is quick to respond to any questions or problems. The apartment is in a wonderful location and is an easy walk to Logan circle, downtown, or the metro.

  • Mayra's place near Logan Circle has a perfect location! Walking distance to the convention center, Logan Circle, DuPont Circle and downtown (if you're up for it!). The place was very clean and the check in process was easy. Even though it doesn't face the street, there was some car activity right outside so if you're a light sleeper just FYI. Otherwise fabulous location and wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

    Stefania2016-09-27T00:00:00Z
  • Functional and inexpensive. Great location. Great communication. It’s a basement unit and DC is not a clean city. Be prepared to deal with trash bins, trash blowing down the stairwell, mildew, and people taking over the parking space. Otherwise, a bargain. The gem was the Michelin Star Mexican restaurant three blocks away!!

    Vanessa2018-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • RATS. At first, this place seemed awesome. I arrived and it was clean and just the right amount of space for me during my travel assignment for work. Also, the location is amazing!!! However, after several months, I started to find rat droppings and pieces of banana bitten through. I notified the host, who stated she would get pest control out there. During the week that it took before pest control came, the drippings exponentially multiplied, I had physically seen the squirrel-sized rats TWICE, and the house smelled worse than anything I've ever smelled. I cleaned the droppings several times during the week, but couldn't keep up. The pest control guy walked in on a Thursday morning and his first words were "oh. My. God. This is awful." He left traps out, but had also mentioned that he has been servicing this place for a year now and that the problem has never resolved. He showed me where foam had been sprayed to essentially band-aid the bigger problem. However, it was just a ticking time bomb as to when they would chew through the foam. I also had been sick nearly the whole time living in this place, which I had assumed maybe I had developed allergies. I have never had allergies in my life, to which the pest control said I have likely been breathing in rat urine and poison this entire time. I worked Thursday night then came home Friday morning and saw that there was more droppings, especially by my dogs cage, and my dog had bites all over her. I put her in a hotel and left to see my family for the weekend and cancelled the rest of my reservation. The host called me after the complaint was filed through Airbnb stating that I was making it up and had no proof. She stated that it was "disturbing" to her that I would be doing this and now she is losing money, etc. Never once an apology for how awfully she maintained her property. I would never rent one of her properties again. P.S. I have not gotten sick and my dog's skin cleared up since moving out weeks ago. I would be happy to provide pictures to anyone inquiring.

  • Excellent place, excellent host! Very close to everything in downtown DC!

  • Great for the value as DC can be so expensive. the check in was self service, easy and great. although I got a double codes and had to try a few to see which one was right. it was a comfy bed and the other guest were nice. it wasn't super clean, but decently so

    Caitlyn2019-02-11T00:00:00Z

My apartment is a small, older studio located in the heart of downtown Washington, D.C. Just a 15-minute walk to the famous National Mall, the studio is located in D.C.'s Shaw neighborhood, flooded with restaurants, bars, coffee shops and more. There really is no better location in D.C. The apartment is small but it is extremely functional. There is no kitchen to cook meals but I will be happy to provide coffee/tea. There is no parking on the premise but street parking is available.
There is no kitchen but I will always provide coffee/tea and light snacks. I have a 75 inch TV, with an Amazon Firestick that you will have access to if you need to relax. The bathroom is big and has all the necessities (shower, sink, toilet, etc.) and I will provide towels, toilet paper, and basic shower toiletries. I have a work desk you can use for your needs and drawers and a closet for your belongings. An ironing machine and iron board are also available
The studio is located in the center of downtown Washington, D.C. in the Shaw neighborhood. It is a 15 minute walk to the National Mall and all Smithsonian Museums. Three blocks away in D.C.'s famous 14th St. that is full of amazing restaurants, bars, clubs, coffee shops, shopping, everything! My favorite restaurant there is Ghibellina - a small, cozy Italian restaurant with an adorable windowsill bar. In addition, two blocks away is D.C.'s famous City Center - a beautiful retail destination that takes up three blocks. I recommend Centrolina in City Center - a coffee shop by day and restaurant by night!
  • Amazing location, it is only a few blocks down from a ton of restaurants and places to shop in a nice neighborhood. Also for touring any of capital mall it is a quick cheap scooter ride away. Would highly recommend it.

    Gerrit2019-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • I would not recommend you booking this place to stay. You can find a hotel room using Hotel Tonight for the same cost or even less. I had a terrible experience with this place, the whole unit smelt like mold or mildew. Her communication was not the greatest.

Just 1.5 blocks from the Shaw/Howard U. Metro, this modern English basement apt. with gas fireplace & high ceilings is a walkable spot to a gourmet grocery store, bars, restaurants, the Convention Center, and Chinatown. The home has exposed brick, Bosch appliances, heated bathroom floor--just 5 metro stops to the White House, the Mall and museums. The Shaw neighborhood is vibrant, constantly changing and full of diversity and young people. A great value with an experienced & DC-licensed host!
You won't feel like you're in an English basement! Cozy up by the fireplace in the winter and enjoy the cool pad in the summer. Since this is a basement, please note my disclosures below in "other things to note." I personally refurbished this 140-year-old property with one of D.C.'s hottest architects. You can trust that I have taken great care to provide you with fine amenities and attention to detail. This 625 sq. ft. apartment is very comfortable for four people, with two in the bedroom and two others could sleep on the pull-out, queen-sized sofa. There are also 2 single Aerobed blow-up mattresses. If you are traveling as a family, I would consider more than 4 people, but it would be tight. If you need just one night's stay, contact me and we can work something out. I've priced the apartment very competitively using the variable rates AirBnB suggests, based on the time of year. The actual daily cost may be higher or lower than the standard daily rate advertised, but you will always feel like you're getting your money's worth compared to any hotel in DC. If you've used AirBnB before, you know you have to lower expectations just a bit as a budget-conscious traveler (but not too much with this apartment). I also tend to book up fast during peak seasons. Any dates that are grayed out on the calendar you see are booked by other guests. This apartment is a dedicated rental, 365 days a year. I can almost always allow guests to drop their bags after 12:00 noon, but the maid will need a 2-hour window to clean, which can be as late as 5 p.m.
Shaw is the hottest neighborhood in DC right now. There's a great city vibe with nearby bars and restaurants, including a great beer garden 1.5 blocks away. A new gourmet grocery store is only 4 blocks away--a nice stroll through the historic Shaw neighborhood. The colorful row houses were all built at the turn-of-the-century--a classic feature of D.C. Two take-outs are across the street: Chinese and Mediterranean/Indian will do in a pinch, and a 24-hour 7-11 is a block away.
  • Nice place, well located. The gas fireplace was a nice plus for our winter visit!

  • If you're visiting Washington, DC, this is the place to be! It's close enough to all the tourist type stuff downtown, but just far enough way where you are living there with locals. There are plenty of great restaurants within a few blocks, a grocery store a few blocks away, and Metro two blocks away. Don't forget to research all the bus lines within walking distance, because they are everywhere. I almost forgot to mention that this rental includes a permit to park on the street all week. The apartment itself is all modern and updated inside, and is very quiet even when there was construction outside. Also very secure. Thanks Alan!

    Bob2017-05-16T00:00:00Z
  • Alan is a great communicator. Responds to your needs and will keep you alone to enjoy your stay of needed. Great location to metro (even though they are doing work on the yellow line). Compass coffee and Shaw's tavern are our favorites.

  • I had a great time in DC. Alan made it easy to check in, his communication before and during was great. The apartment was very clean, looked like the pictures, and a great location. Comfortable, cute, cozy and fully separate eclectic studio apartment with queen-sized bed, dining/living area, kitchen with amenities (no full stove) & wifi. Located around the corner from the DC Convention Center and Shaw metro station. With amazing restaurants and bars within walking distance and proximity to great neighborhoods such as Chinatown and Logan Circle. You’ll be sure to enjoy your stay with us.
The studio apartment is in a super fun and vibrant part of the city with plenty of street traffic, pedestrians, and socialization. Therefore, no guarantee of zero noise pollution to peace and tranquility seekers. It's a basement unit and during the DC humidity there is a dehumidifier and air purifier that runs continually. The apartment would not be a good fit for those with allergies or noise sensitivities. You will get a great feel for the Shaw neighborhood by staying here. There are amazing restaurants, bars, bakeries, and coffee shops within feet of the apartment entrance. There is a large grocery store two blocks away. Please ask for recommendations - we are more than happy to point you in many great directions! The apartment is easily accessible by bus and metro -- you can get to any part of the city within minutes. If you prefer to walk or bike, notable spots like the National Mall and Smithsonian Museums are within a mile. We have a strict No Smokers requirement. Absolutely no smoking or any other smoking-like-activities on or near the property. We take pride in keeping our property and by extension, our neighborhood clean. This is a strictly enforced policy and any violation will result in the stay getting cancelled without a refund and an additional charge for all the costs involved in remediation. If you absolutely have to smoke, please utilize the area across the street near the parking lot and be sure to clean up after yourselves.
Shaw is a fantastic area to be in. There are so many new, fun, and exciting nooks to explore (check out Blagden Alley). Easily walk-able to nearby Chinatown or 14th St. for more great food and drink explorations.
  • This is a lovely, homey space close to the downtown. It is private and stylish, ideal for someone who wants to prepare their own meals and have a but of a neighbourhood experience. Ilissa was a great host, very responsive and helpful. She has two really gorgeous dogs that i was fortunate to meet. Her neighbours gather on their front stoop in the evenings and are happy to chat, offering some local colour. There are great restaurants nearby - an amazing Mexican place just at the corner and even a good nail salon (Red Sun) a 5 min walk. It is a tiny bit rustic due to it being a but Ilissa has capitalized well on this element, creating a stylish space. I would definitely stay again.

My house is located in the Shaw Neighborhood, better known as the heart of Washington, DC. I LOVE MY LOCATION. Surrounded by an assortment of restaurants, pubs, cafes, a beer garden, coffee-houses, carry-outs, & if you want to cook your own meals the grocery store is in the next block. Yet, with all this activity the neighborhood is well-lit, safe and relatively quiet on a metropolitan street. I have easy access to everything including, public transportation (trains, buses & planes).
There are no separate bedrooms, like most studios, it is one large clean room with amazing flooring, a queen size bed, several pillows, clean linen, extra blanket, a large closet with shelves for your things, an iron & full-size ironing board, a comfortable chair & ottoman to read or watch TV on a 40" adjustable HD TV with cable/streaming ability or sign-in to your own Netflix account, a workspace for a laptop, Wi-Fi, a small, yet, full kitchen, with new stainless steel appliances, pots & pans, dishes & silverware, a washer & dryer and a mid-size refrigerator, a clean bathroom with a spacious shower, no tub, clean towels, soap & small cups for mouth wash. The entire space is separate from the rest of the house, comfortable for no more than 2, GREAT for one. ONE OR TWO OCCUPANTS ONLY PLEASE.
Shaw is submerged in African-American History, named after the Civil War Colonel Robert Gould Shaw who was an American soldier in the Union Army during the American Civil War. He led the first all-black regiment. The neighborhood Shaw grew out of a freed slave military camp. Duke Ellington was born and lived in Shaw. The U Street Corridor became known as the “Black Broadway”. Big name stars played at nearby theaters that are still standing like the Howard Theater where Marvin Gaye played and many well-known performers. The six days of riots that erupted in Washington, D.C., following the assassination of civil rights activist Martin Luther King Jr. on April 4, 1968, leaving 7th Street & the U Street corridor in ruins. The U Street corridor did not begin to recover economically until the opening of the U Street and Columbia Heights Metro stations in 1991 and 1999. Slowly, DC started changing from a widely held African American City to the current redevelop, flourishing, revitalize Shaw. There is an adage that says, “Change is inevitable Growth is optional”. Today, the Shaw neighborhood’s row houses remain, including the attractive Victorian houses, tucked amid the in vogue places currently on the scene.

    Idania2019-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • The location of Jackie’s studio was perfect and very close to the subway. It was exactly what we needed. We appreciated the coffee for the morning and the laundry facilities. It was quiet after a long day of visiting museums. We would recommend Jackie’s studio.

Enjoy downtown D.C. from our new studio apartment near 14th and U Streets! Minutes from everything— features private entrance from plant-filled porch, queen bed, and deluxe private bathroom and kitchenette. Modern, bright, and charming studio apartment has private entrance from alley and parking area. Morning sun streams in the east window over the dining table (seats two, but let us know if you're hosting and we can provide extra chairs). Couch under the exposed brick wall is a queen-sized, top-of-the-line "Night and Day" sleeper bed that's as comfortable as a fixed bed and can be folded up without removing sheets. Brand new, private, modern kitchenette has everything you need whether you want to make tea and toast in the morning, or a four-course meal. Flat-screen 40" television is connected to Apple TV, with access to our Netflix account. Wifi is included, and the unit has its own thermostat and heating / AC for your comfort any time of year. Enter the apartment from the private alley entrance through a modernist, plant-filled porch that surrounds the apartment - offering peace and quiet in the city. The apartment is a private suite closed off from our house. We'll leave the keys out for you but just knock or call if there is anything you need! The apartment is in the U Street corridor, with dozens of great restaurants, bars, and music venues and clubs. Logan Circle is nearby, where you can relax or begin the historic self-guided walking tour and explore the area's African American history. You'll be a five-minute walk (really) from the U Street metro stop (green line) and bus lines serving downtown, Georgetown, Union Station and more. We're also near several Capital Bikeshare stations, and many other car, bike, and scooter sharing services are in the neighborhood.
  • Lovely people who do whatever they can to help you. Great value in a good location to see DC. They have 2 lovely kids who were so quiet. We were shocked at how well behaved they are,

    Glen2018-06-18T00:00:00Z
  • This property has a perfect location in a very cool city for a great price. The apartment was clean and well put together for us on arrival and we had no difficulties in getting settled. The handout that listed the places to eat near the apartment was especially helpful.

    Josh2015-10-24T00:00:00Z
  • This is a very nice (freshly and tastefully remodeled) space at a very good price. Nazgol was attentive and available, but I didn't need a thing. They provided thorough instructions and a guide to local establishments, even metro directions and taxi price estimates. I very much prefer this experience to hotels I have stayed at in the area, and again, this price was better as well. I would book it again, thank you.

    Jak2016-01-17T00:00:00Z
  • The reservation was canceled 47 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.

  • A well-appointed, cozy place to stay. My wife and I spent a very comfortable week here. Bathroom and kitchenette and very modern and functional. I was concerned about the pull-out sleeper but it was comfortable and easy to set up and break down. The neighborhood is full of great bars and restaurants, but the apartment itself is shielded from traffic/street noise. Nazgol sent over very detailed directions so the place was easy to find. Inside, she had left printed notes for everything from how to use the television to nearby coffee shops & groceries. Had a great visit and would definitely stay there again! One note: The unit is private but you definitely can hear people in the rest of the house, so if you're planning on being super loud this maybe isn't the unit for you.

    Mark2014-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • Nazgol provided a detailed guide on how to reach and access the studio. Everything was flawless and very clean and as described. The apartment is small but has everything you need. It has a pull-out sofa for a bed which I only used as a bed which leaves little space for anything else but for me this was not a problem whatsoever. The neighborhood is quiet and feels safe.

    Michael2015-12-21T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent location, close to public transport, bike rentals, walking distance to lots of great bars and restaurants. Only drawback, the bed. It is hard... And uncomfortable...

    Patrick2015-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely nothing to complain about.we received all important information in advance. What we found was a totally new, carefully designed appartement with a top kitchen and modern bathroom. The bedsofa was cozy and comfortable. Altogether it was a great stay in a well renovated, absolutely clean appartement surrounded by one of the most vibrand quarters of D.C..Nazgol was a lovely host always available to answer any questions. We would always recommend it!

  • This master suite at Logan Circle is very stylish and comfortable . Check in and check out was effortless. Lee was an absolute joy to deal with. Polite and helpful, extremely quick with replies and generous with understanding. The large bathroom and bedroom are extremely pleasant and have a nice view to the street. The neighbourhood is very nice and safe. Nearby shops and restaurants of all types and prices are easily accessible. If however, there us another guest above you the stairs can be quite noisy. A delightful stay, overall.

  • The apartment is cute and well kept for a short stay in DC. Pamela was kind and quick with responding. The location was good in the sense that it was close to lots of things, though I felt the neighborhood itself was a little more run down than I expected. Pamela was amazing though and this place is great for a short stay!

  • An excellent place to stay in Washington. We arrived from NYC into Union Station and the Metro is easy to use to get to the property. However we actually just walked, it was only 15mins. The excellent host gave us great details on how to get access to the property, responding near instantly to any subsequent queries. Plus there were further hints, tips, maps etc at the property for us. The flat is a third floor walk up, really comfy and is perfect for a city break; with Netflix, kitchen, washing machine for an evening in and a comfy bed. The flat is in a great location, very close to a Metro station but easily within walking distance of all the main attractions and the host also provides tips on where the locals go. We definitely enjoyed Washington more as a result of staying here. A thorough recommendation from a very happy customer. Book now!

  • Clean room and shared spaces, great location and surprisingly quiet for the heart of DC.

    Jeri2019-06-25T00:00:00Z
  • Let me start with Mohammed’s space is kept impeccably clean. I didn't find a crumb, hair, or mote of dust anywhere. Everything is kept very neat and organized, all of the private and common spaces were immaculate and obviously well taken care of. The location itself is pretty great. It's about a 5 minute walk to the closest metro, about 15 minutes to most of the major bars and night life, and maybe 10-15 minutes (by metro) to the museums and the mall. It's also on a fairly quiet street and there was minimal noise throughout the entire weekend I stayed. Overall, it was a great experience. The only downside (and this is small, but worth mentioning if this is something you're looking for) is that there isn't really any common space to sit or be in. The room I rented was large enough to be comfortable in, but that was about it. There isn't a dining table, there were 2 chairs and the 2 beds and a desk in the room. So if you're looking for somewhere to be communal with other guests who are staying there, this might not be the space for you. I hope you the reader aren't taking this as a negative, it wasn't for me, but it is something to be mentioned as usually communal AirBnBs are great for meeting other travelers, but this might not be something you can do here.

Inspiring NYC Studio loft style in the heart of Blagden alley historical district. Much effort was given to preserve this 1870 carriage house’s landmark legacy while remodeling in 2018: hardwood floors throughout, flooded with natural light, gourmet kitchen, King bed & extra beddings upon request. Set back in a quiet corner but from the pulse of Shaw & Logan. 1min walk to convention ctr, 6 to Verizon ctr, 15 to White H. Complimentary free local Gym access & free parking permit. WELCOME!
I am so excited Welcoming you in this unique place ! I should start with a little bit of a history ( all right I know I’ll make it quick just about Two minutes of reading so you can get Some Inspiring (i think) background about the place. Blagden Alley is a historic district defined by middle-class residences, churches and small apartment buildings which display a rich variety of Victorian architectural styles dating from the 1860’s to the 1890’s. In the interior of each block are extant examples of utilitarian alley dwellings, such as working class residences, stables and commercial buildings that are hidden behind the buildings facing the streets. The area illustrates how different classes, races and services were physically organized in the 19th-century city of Washington. The names Blagden Alley and Naylor Court were derived from two 19th-century property owners, Thomas Blagden and Dickerson Nailor. Blagden owned property in the area and ran a lumberyard in the city. Dickerson Nailor (now spelled Naylor) also owned property and was a grocer. After the Civil War, Washington's downtown became increasingly commercial and residential development grew north to the Blagden Alley area in the 1870s and attracted several prestigious, affluent residents. The elegant townhouse, the Blanche K. Bruce House (NHL) at 909 M Street was constructed in 1873. Bruce was the first African American to serve as a Senator in Congress (R-Miss, 1875-1881). To the south was a house built by Alexander "Boss" Shepard, the chief of the Board of Public Works during the 1870s. Streetcar lines connected 9th and 7th Streets with downtown in 1873, and these streets served as the main commercial corridors. After the Civil War, many African Americans migrated to Washington and came to live in the alley dwellings. They were small and poorly constructed buildings, mainly of wood and brick. The living conditions were overcrowded and unsanitary. Throughout the first half of the 20th century, there were concentrated efforts to have the alley dwellings demolished. Bladgen Alley and Naylor Court are two of only a handful of alleys which are extant. The Blagden Alley neighborhood continued to serve as a closely-knit, racially mixed middle and working class neighborhood into the 20th century. However, the widening of 9th Street with its subsequent loss of street trees and yards, the flight of the middle class to the suburbs, the increase of absentee landlords and the 1968 riots led to deterioration of the area. Today, there is interest in renovating and restoring the homes. New residents have been attracted to the area by the charm of the buildings and the proximity to downtown. So you know the big picture. On the logistics side to recap the space is bright spacious 1000sq ft, totally open and changeable. Brand new kitchen appliances and state of the art Cuisinart tools . Security system extremely safe especially for Single woman traveler. Any question of further detail you may have about a specific of the place Just ask! 3/4 guests staying with here are couples or single business traveler. I often organize the space differently for a long stay or any special requests if you need to set up a desk area, a meeting room, A/V material I have everything you need. The space is indeed regularly used as an offsite meeting location for events at the convention center. 1/4 of guests staying here are mostly, couple with Younger children, groups of friends, Siblings or special occasion getaway trip. I can accommodate special and extra bedding as requested. Although There is a NO hard party policy, I do take reservations for small events and Gathering, Let me know what the details are and we will try to work out something together.
The loft is in the heart of Blagden Alley historical district. Walk to the Convention Center, Verizon Center, and the White House. Many unmissable hot spots are around the corner, including artists' workspaces, food markets, shops, and restaurants.

  • This is a fantastic space in a great location with neighborhood amenities and a kind, welcoming host. Apartment is comfortable and well-outfitted with the little things you need, but forgot. Louis is such an accommodating host and has thought of so much to make things comfortable. Far superior to a hotel in the area and at a totally reasonable rate. I will definitely stay here again and recommend it.

    Kevin2019-04-30T00:00:00Z
  • I had a wonderful time in Louis's space. The apartment was super cute, modern, and nice and clean! He was very accommodating with me and my check in time since I only needed his space for 1 day. All in all couldn't have asked for a better experience! Definitely a gem if you're staying in DC

    Shannon2019-07-29T00:00:00Z
  • Louis has created a stylish, beautiful, and comfortable space in his loft! The amenities were above and beyond (toiletries, snacks, and the bin of items that might be needed), the location was conveniently located to markets, bars, and restaurants, and Louis was a helpful, responsive, and welcoming host. Would definitely recommend a stay here!

  • The apartment at 934 N Street Northwest is a lovely one bedroom apartment. The bath and a half is a nice amenity as when one is in the main bathroom, access to the half bath is a bonus to be sure! The place is spacious, comfortable, and convenient to the convention and local venues. It is, indeed, a home away from home!

  • The apartment was perfect: easy to find, super clean, modern, spacious, nice area, about 15 min walk from my conference centre. I had trouble with the entry system but Matt answered my call right away and guided me. Too bad we did not get a chance to meet as I left early and returned late every day.

Right in the heart of DC, a corner house with a convenient store under it (first floor). Near Washington DC convention center, Capital Arena, White house, National Mall and others. I welcome you to my house and can be reached via phone and i also lives there so feel free to reach out if you need something.
You will love how everything is within a walking distance!
The White house and all of the museums are near by, coffee shops and a block away. I can answer any question you have if it is your first time in DC.
  • This location was perfect for the conference I attended at the Convention Center. The walk was less than 10 minutes. Their is a convenient store very close and a Safeway, Chipotle and several other restaurants a couple of blocks from the place (5 minute walk). The rooms were clean, the kitchen was great and the check-in/check-out process a breeze. I will definitely plan to stay with Mohammed on my return trips to DC.

    Scot2019-05-22T00:00:00Z
  • Mohammed was a great, communicative host with a beautifully renovated second floor space. 3 units share the floor and share a full kitchen and bath. Our two room unit #1 was located by the entrance and stairs which thus had some noise, but we plus was having kitchen and bathroom separating us from the other guests in the two other units which are next to each other on the other end of the floor. (If anyone needs to be VERY close to the bathroom they may like the other units better). We were really impressed with the newly renovated space and comfy new beds. The whole place was spotless and had a kitchen I envied, and was so convenient to store or make food. Appreciated the ironing set up in the hall. Location was easy walk to breakfast and dinner places and a short ride to downtown. Deli downstairs. Nice neighborhood we felt comfortable walking around in. This larger unit was perfect set up for my friend and I, with two beds in two separate rooms. Definitely recommend!

    Dominic2019-07-10T00:00:00Z
  • Great location, clean room, and very communicated host. Mohammed was accommodating of my delayed arrival and was very responsive to my questions. My one negative is that he entered my room without knocking or calling, and I was still inside.

    Mohana2019-06-29T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing location with good food and a grocery nearby and local sights within walking distance. Steep, narrow stairs could be a challenge for those with mobility issues and heavier or bulkier luggage.

    Tabitha2019-07-29T00:00:00Z
  • The place was exactly as described and pictured. Very clean and Mohammed messaged every morning asking if he got help with anything. Great host, would definitely recommend.

Charming, beautiful, historic apartment just steps from the heart of D.C.! Walk to the convention center or monuments, and unwind surrounded by the best D.C. has to offer. Get a restful nights sleep on the comfiest mattress, and wake up in a beautiful location.
This is a beautiful and charming English basement in a remodeled historic grand Victorian row home. Just 2 minutes walk to one of DC's newest Michelin Star restaurants (The Dabney) and surrounded by critically acclaimed restaurants in the neighborhood, this location is the epitome of sophisticated convenience.
  • We had a very nice stay and enjoyed our excursions very much in the DC. Lovely restaurants around and the grocery is within minutes’ walking. It is a quiet area but easy to access to main attractions and metro. The house is well equipped and Bennett is very responsive and considerate to our needs. The bed is so comfy! Highly recommended!

  • Great space for a small family and located nice and close to the convention center, where I had to be for work. We found some nice places to eat nearby and really liked the location and apartment. Bennett is a super responsive host and check in and out were a breeze!

  • This is the place to stay if you plan to walk around DC! We felt safe walking around at night, and it was just walking distance from some great restaurants (the commodore, the bird, sundevich). We would definitely stay here again!

    Heather2018-08-07T00:00:00Z
  • Bennett is a great host! He’s so easy to work with and available for any questions. The location is perfect!

    Erin2019-03-31T00:00:00Z
  • Had a lovely holiday in D.C.! Bennett is very warm-hearted and gave us really helpful suggestions about local restaurants. The whole apartment is cozy and comfy, however the sound upstairs could be a little bit troublesome since you can hear people walking around and dog barking. All in all a great place to stay and I’ll definitely recommend!

    Wendy2018-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay at Bennett’s place - the location is excellent and the neighbourhood is beautiful with lots to do. Bennett was very helpful and offered some great tips about the local area. The apartment has everything you need for a great stay - others have mentioned a bit of noise from the fridge/AC which we did notice, but I am the most sensitive of sleepers and it was not a problem! Would definitely stay here again if we come back.

  • Great service! Great house! Great experience! The first floor is public and the rooms are all upstairs. We stay there for 2 night and for the check out day morning. I see cleaning lady start to clean the room very fast and carefully. She replace the bathroom mat and clean the door handle and every surface that people might touched before. The owner’s reply faster and the discretion are clear and on time! Perfect experience!

  • Oksana is a helpful and accommodating hostess. She met me at the gate to the apartment complex and helped me get my luggage from my car into the aprartment. Her apartment is on one of a group of six apartment buildings arranged in a "U" shape around a large open courtyard area with trees and a grassy lawn. The entire complex is surrounded by an attractive metal fence with locked gates. This provides a secure, peaceful and attractive environment. The apartment is of modest size and is immaculately clean. The bedroom is not large, but has adequate space for two people and their luggage. The bed was, for me, very comfortable. There is a closet available with hangers and plenty of space for hanging clothes. The neighborhood seemed to me to be relatively quiet with only a modest amount of the inevitable street noise in an inner-city environment. Overall, I enjoyed my stay with Oksana and had no complaints.

Decompress from your business travel in a stylish home that combines convenience with a cozy residential neighborhood. This 1800s retreat retains a great deal of historic charm, with feature fireplaces, sash windows, and hardwood floors. The location is perfect for conferences at the convention center, Marriott Marquis, or other downtown office buildings.
This rental is for one private bedroom (full size bed) and bathroom (not en suite but down the hall). Both the room and bathroom are on the 2nd floor of the house. You are welcome to use the common areas while staying here including the living room and kitchen.
The home has the best of both worlds: convenience to the convention center and downtown, yet the tranquil surroundings of a residential area (Logan Circle/Shaw) with great coffee shops, bakeries, bars, and restaurants just a block away.
  • Nick and Shelley were great hosts! They were very accommodating with my late night arrival time (and early morning departure time) and made sure to prepare their spare bedroom with anything you could need (water, granola bars, hairdryer, etc.). Shelley in particular was very communicative, which made the check in/out process go smoothly. Their home is newly renovated, so the living room, kitchen, and guest bathroom are all in tip-top shape. As for location, I needed a place that was walking distance from my work (which also happens to be near the White House). If you're visiting for fun, I'm sure you could get to an assortment of attractions within 10-15 minutes. The neighborhood seemed safe as well. Last but not least, the bed was very comfy and the room was decorated quite well. I felt right at home. I would definitely stay with Nick and Shelley again (if they aren't already booked)!

  • I stayed with Nick and Shelly during my attendance at a conference. They were great at answering questions I had an communication in general. This was my first Airbnb and they made me feel more than welcome. I felt like I was staying at a friends house. Check in and out was super easy. The room exceeded my expectations with great attention to the little details like the water and snack treats they left for me. I had a private bathroom for my stay, which was clean and had the little amenities like shampoo and soap. Thanks for being such great hosts Nick and Shelly.

    Carlos2017-07-13T00:00:00Z
  • Great spot! I came while in town for a conference at the Marriott Marquis. It's about 3 blocks away from their place - very convenient. It's a great neighborhood for food, coffee and drinks. I went to Unconventional Diner and La Colombe on Nick and Shelley's recommendation, and The Dabney on a friend's recommendation. They were all really good and within easy walking distance. Nick and Shelley were gracious hosts and the bedroom and bathroom were well stocked and clean. I didn't end up using the living room or kitchen but they made it clear that I could make myself at home if I wanted. The kitchen has a really nice gas stove, kinda bummed I didn't use it :)

    Samantha2018-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • Comfortable and quiet room in immaculately clean, lovely home in great neighborhood convenient to downtown. Easy lock box check in. Fast and friendly communication with hosts, Nick and Shelley. Impressive collection of books in tranquil bedroom with private bath down the hall. Top quality mattress is very comfortable. Hardwood floors are a little creaky but otherwise idyllic and well appointed accommodations. Short walk to convention center, restaurants, and metro. Several bike share bikes nearby. Highly recommend and would definitely stay again next time in DC.

The kitchen is also well stocked with pots, pans etc--so if you're looking to eat in, this is the place for you. Great neighborhood too.

  • Really great residence. The unit is a small studio but is so stylishly and elegantly furnished that you don't miss anything. Very comfortable, both in terms of resting space and the bed itself. Nothing was lacking, even including bathroom amenities, even a brand-new toothbrush was available in case I needed it! The unit is in a quiet, modern building in a vibrant part of town that's well-served with public transportation and has lots of cafe and restaurant offerings. This is one of the best Airbnb's I've ever stayed in. I would seek this unit out specifically if a future opportunity arose.

  • Good for those wanting to explore DC over a couple of days.

    Amelia2019-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay at Nicole’s place. What a great location on the same street as restaurants, a market store, liquor store and train station. Her unit was clean, bright and Nicole provided an extensive list of her go-to spots to eat :)

    Sarah2019-06-02T00:00:00Z
  • Nicole's place is super clean, beautifully decorated, very comfortable and in a great location convenience to restaurants, a grocery store and the Metro. The apartment was stocked with coffee and all necessary toiletries. Nicole was very responsive to our needs. When we arrived we noted that the thermostat wasn't working (needed a new battery perhaps). Nicole immediately called for emergency maintence who fixed it within an hour. We were not able to get the ROKU to work, but that may have been because we were not familiar with ROKU. I would highly recommend Nicole's place and hope to stay there again the next time we visit DC.

    Kimberly2019-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • AMAZING!! Not only is Nicole quick to respond with detailed instructions and helpful tips, but offers a beautiful and very clean loft styled apartment in a wonderful location. Walking distance to countless amenities, eat spots, bars, and transportation locations. We often used the Metro located at Mt. Vernon Sq. And had breakfast every morning at The Union Grocery located directly across the street from the apartment. We couldn’t have asked for a better host or experience. Would highly recommend and look forward to rebooking:)

    Monia2018-03-20T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing host. Perfect experience in every way. No better value.

    Alisher2018-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • Comfy bed, cozy apartment with everything you need. Great location and super nice host!

    Jessica2018-11-14T00:00:00Z
  • This spacious studio apartment was quiet, immaculately clean, lots of natural light & located close to a few cafes. It was just a short walk to the Metro or a 15-25 min walk to attractions. Plenty of closet space to put away my luggage, easy to control temperature, water filter jug, fully equipped kitchen. It was a perfect place for my one week stay.
