  • This flat is in a spectacular location. Close to everything, and really well fitted out. The parking across the road is $15 per 12 hours but so convenient, and we’ll worth being so close to all the action

    Kit2019-03-27T00:00:00Z
  • Easy, convenient, and very clean apartment in a great location. The apartment's photos are very accurate, and I appreciated the well stocked kitchen. The area can be a bit loud at night-- the bedroom seemed to overlook a loading area of some sort--but the white noise machine that was thoughtfully provided made a huge difference. Would definitely stay again.

    Alexandra2018-11-16T00:00:00Z
  • The location was very convenient from many main attractions. The apartment was cozy and cute. I did have a couple of questions when I first arrived and when I called the number that was provided I received prompt attention. Overall this was a good location and would consider renting this unit again in the future.

    Roxanne2018-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful apartment, location and hosts. Look forward to our next stay.

    Sonya2019-03-17T00:00:00Z
  • Right on the riverwalk, tons of cute coffee shops and restaurants within a 1 block walk. The apartment was sparkling clean and just as pictured. The entry lockbox was a little confusing, so read the instructions sent to you ahead of time carefully for everything is clearly explained. I highly recommend this AirBnB, one of the best ones I've ever stayed in.

  • You cannot beat the price for the location. The Alamo is right across the street and plenty of bars and restaurants are within walking distance. The room was a bit smaller than I expected, but we had plenty of space for our one night stay. I loved the modern style mixed with the antique feel of the building. All the staff were super friendly and helpful. I would absolutely stay here again.

Unbeatable location! Only ONE block to the Riverwalk - there is no apartment building closer than this! Surrounded by restaurants and entertainment. The Buckhorn Saloon, Walgreen's & Guinness World Records Museum is across the street. The Majestic Theatre is a block away. Everything is within minutes.
  • We loved this place. Excellent location, had everything we needed. We made breakfast in the apartment and we had every pot and pan that we needed. Everything was clean and there were plenty of towels for everyone. We were able to find a good parking garage that was inexpensive to park for the weekend. (St. Mary's garage, it was about 5 blocks away). We really loved this place, and next time we are in town we will be staying here!

    Brittany2018-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was wonderful. Irene is very responsive and happy to answer any questions. The apartment was awesome and just a few steps away from the Riverwalk. We really enjoyed our stay and have no complaints!

    Luke2019-03-20T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect location, awesome apartment in a cool building. The check in process is a pain, had trouble finding the key. Even worse is the parking situation. Our vehicle was towed from a Hospitality Parking lot for no reason. Other than that nonsense we enjoyed the place.

    Jeff2019-09-14T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect for our overnight stay in San Antonio! The check-in process was simple and straightforward, the apartment was clean and stylish, and the location was perfect! I would definitely stay here again for future visits.

    Ashley2018-10-16T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic place with great views of the city! 10/10 would stay again!

    Michael2019-06-21T00:00:00Z
  • This place is in an excellent location, we were able to walk everywhere we went downtown this weekend. It was a little loud at night being in the heart of downtown, but we were told to expect it and Irene had placed earplugs and white noise machines in both bedrooms. Would love to stay again!

    Katie2019-04-07T00:00:00Z
  • We loved the location and the apartment; it seemed like everything was too good to be true... Until; 10:30 when the noise started. I believe there is a night club on the corner below the apartment. The music was ridiculously loud until 3-4am, there were people yelling on the street below us and it seemed like the cop cars were running all around us. The noise ruined the experience; this was not the hosts fault but perhaps there should be earplugs no the nightstands for sleeping.

    Shane2018-10-15T00:00:00Z

Our house is located in downtown San Antonio with very convenient access to the Alamo, Alamodome, Hemisphere Tower, and the Riverwalk. Great for tourist coming to see all the sights as it is walking distance to everything. Our house is a four-bedroom single home and all rooms are listed on AirBnB (Red Room, Green Room, Tan Room, and Blue Room). Anyone renting a room will be sharing the house with any other guest who may be there at the same time, however, respect each other's privacy.
Our house was built in 1930 and has the vintage appeal to it as well as modern upgrades to help make you stay a clean and comfortable one. You will be loaned one towel per each guest (limit two).
Our house is located in Historical Gardens which is a older, quiet and safe neighborhood where neighbors look out for each other and the children play in the street (basketball).
  • Everything was neat and clean, I would recommend if youre going alone or as a couple. Only a 24 minute walk to the river walk

    Jalen2018-03-25T00:00:00Z
  • Everything about the home itself and the room in particular was perfect. I was very surprised how beautiful the house is on the inside - the rooms are all kept very clean and are well maintained. My two comments relate to the location of the house -- I was not expecting the neighbourhood to be as downtrodden looking as it was, and as a young female travelling alone I did not feel safe taking the bus after dark, though the stop is conveniently located near the house. It is worth mentioning that although I may have felt unsafe, I never actually encountered a dangerous situation or person, and the home itself is gated to provide extra ease. Also, I found that there was no mention of being so close to the train tracks with a very active train that runs past. Eventually I was able to tune it out, but it was difficult to get over at first as I am not used to hearing the train. Anyways, other than these two minor issues, I definitely enjoyed my stay in this clean and well kept space. The host is very responsive and provides you with bottled water and some snacks in the kitchen. I would most certainly return because it is a great value!

    Carolyn2017-11-14T00:00:00Z
  • I stopped off at San Antonio overnight after arriving late at night on the train. These guys very kindly picked me up from the train station, great communication, and really lovely people, keen to make sure I was comfortable and had everything I needed. And I really was so glad to arrive somewhere so comfortable, welcoming, food in the kitchen, eggs, toast, oatmeal, tea and so on, toiletries (I even noticed they had pads/tampons in the bathroom necessities, that's the first time I'd seen that and I thought it was really thoughtful and right on). The house is also a lovely space, roomy kitchen table, they've obviously gone to some effort in decorating the place and it's nice. I can imagine a good place to socialise with other people staying there too. Walking distance into town. I could hear the trains occasionally, as another review mentioned, but I didn't find it disturbing or too loud at all, slept really well.

    Anna2016-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • The house was very clean. The common spaces (kitchen, bathroom, dining area) are shared with three other rooms making bathroom was quite busy in the morning. As there is only one restroom, there is nowhere to use a toilet when any other guests are showering/using the restroom. The residence is very close to the train station and has many security measures in place (locked fence, security cameras, etc.) However, the house did not feel like it was in a very safe neighborhood and we avoided being out after dark. Also, being so close to the train station, train sounds were loud and continued through the night. Overall, I would stay here again, but would be sure to have earplugs and plan to be in before dark.

  • Great location and Leslie is an awesome host! The house is minutes from the river walk and is cozy.

  • I loved . Clean and confortable space to share time with family ... thank u

    Dayana2018-12-26T00:00:00Z
  • Place is totally different inside to outside, not in the best area. Was clean in the inside just the outside garbage needed to be removed it was over filling. All in all quiet neighborhood considering location, suited the need we needed for our stay. Leslie herself was great with communication & helping with questions.

    Amber2019-05-01T00:00:00Z
  • The iLIve home was more than perfect for our stay with multiple families. We only stayed one night, but certainly wished we could have stayed A LOT longer. Everything was comfy, clean, good communication and we had our share of fun with all the high tech gadgets. Definitely one of the best AirBNBs I have ever stayed in and we hope to be back soon.

    Raul2018-12-12T00:00:00Z
  • The outside of the house is a little rough, along with the neighborhood. The inside was nice and clean with plenty of space for all of us. There were a couple of things broken like one of the beds had fallen on one side and the ping pong table was broken. Leslie did a great job with bringing us extra blankets and towels and responds very quickly! Being close to downtown made Lyft rides cheap and convenient. Sleeping wise, there are dogs and roosters next door that like to chatter all night. Overall we had a lot of fun! Thank you Leslie!

    Kaity2019-06-09T00:00:00Z
  • We did have quite a few issues regarding the home being dirty when we arrived. Leslie did send someone to bring new bedding. However we never received clean towels nor was the house cleaned for our visit, so we just stayed in the home the way the previous renters left it. I appreciate Leslie’s effort to try to fix issues we had, but I wouldn’t stay in this home again. The home is for sure in a sketchy side of town like other renters have mentioned, so keep that in mind. I do have to say, the beds were really comfortable to sleep on.

Also we provide wi-fi , cable TV with Netflix , and an ice machine for ice.

  • Edward will go the extra mile to best accommodate you! The Bedroom and Bathroom are separate from the rest of the house, so you feel more privacy. He also had a coffee brewer, snacks, and easy-cook dinner packets on a shelf.

    Dante2019-03-28T00:00:00Z
  • Edward and his brother Roland are great hosts. It was perfect for my daughter and I who were attending my son's graduation from basic training at Lackland AFB. They offered everything you could possibly need if you had forgotten something as well as snacks, drinks and an ice machine. I would definitely stay here again.

    Brooke2019-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • Great place, very well equipped. Edward is a very attentive host.

    Mickael2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment was very good value for the location! My husband and I were able to walk to the historic center of San Antonio. Only 20 minutes walk to the Alamo. They had a keypad for the private entrance to the room; very convenient for check-in. There was an AC and fan in the room making our stay in the end of June bearable. There's also wi-fi, tv, and Netflix, but we didn't get to take advantage of these since there's so much to see and do in beautiful San Antonio. Great affordable place to stay during our weekend visit!

    Michelle2017-06-25T00:00:00Z
  • If you want to enjoy the hospitality of the south, Ed’s place is the right one to stay. The room is spacious with all the necessities and even more (love the small chocolate snacks in the fridge). Only 7 min walk from the Alamo mission and the Riverwalk makes the place ideal for visiting and relaxing. But most important, Ed makes the place special, always there to help and answering to messages quickly – he loves classical music so that is a plus for me too. He is not a superhost just by luck! Highly recommended!

    Elias2018-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • Edward’s place was amazing. Very welcoming and felt right at home. Easily accessible and close to downtown. Would highly recommend.

    Saurabh2019-03-22T00:00:00Z
  • The brothers Edward and Roland were awesome hosts! The room was very comfortable and well equipped with water, snacks, toiletries, microwave, refrigerator, coffee maker, WiFi internet, and air conditioning. Exactly as mentioned in the listing with some extras. I had everything I needed right there (had to use a band-aid one day, they had it in the restroom). The check-in and check-out were really easy with the keypad lock. It is a nice and calm neighborhood with bus stops nearby and it was only a 20 min walk to the conference that I was attending. The hosts are really good and accessible people that helped me a lot. It was a pleasure meeting them and staying at their place. I wish them all the best. Will be staying here again if I come back to San Antonio.

    Daniel2018-05-25T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great room east of downtown! Right on a bus line, the room is cozy and great for 1-2 people. The place had tea, coffee, and extra shower products in abundance. It couldn't have been easier to check in and out as well!

  • The host accommodated my early arrival and that was great because I had had a long trip. The apartment was as described. Very homey feeling. The neighborhood is where my work is and I feel very comfortable walking to and from the office 2 blocks away.

  • The house is excellent, clean a pretty! Cozy too! The owner lives just in the second floor of the apt. So the comunication is pretty easy and nice!

  • Mandy and Danny were very helpful. They ensured I had everything I needed, provided basic toiletries, clean towels, and quickly responded to questions about the area. The place itself was very spacious for a one-bedroom unit, was clean, and very comfortable. The unit was about a 10-minute walk to the riverwalk. As previous reviewers have mentioned, the unit is in an "up and coming neighborhood". I walked to and from the river walk at all times of the day and night and always felt safe. I would definitely recommend this place!

  • Brett & Erica's home is beautifully decorated and very inviting. With a queen bed in the bedroom and a Futon couch in the living room, the house comfortably sleeps 3 people. It made for a wonderful weekend getaway for me and my two grown daughters.

  • The host was very prompt and the apartment was amazing. Whoever setup this place made sure to include all of the basic amenities for a satisfactory stay. I am very happy with my stay and will definitely recommend the place for anyone else looking for a cozy little pad to stay at in downtown San Antonio!

  • A nice, small, apartment in a house near downtown San Antonio. Not much more than a double bed and a bathroom, but the place is as described. I would stay here again - check-in was easy and it was a good place to spend a night.

    Brian2018-02-11T00:00:00Z
  • You know what you're getting.. just buyer beware the neighborhood is kinda sketchy. When we arrived we were confused because the complexs front door is propped by a rock to stay open. And it stays open during all hours of the day. If you're squeamish of lower end parts of the city I highly recommend you spend more for the luxury you seek.

    Rudy2017-06-18T00:00:00Z
  • first let me say hugo is very responsive, friendly, and seems like a great person. That said, I must be honest and say my stay didn't work out(we stayed 1 out of 4 nights). the place is cute and in a great location, but it was very hot. I understand the place is older and wall AC units are not as good at central units, but with 100 degree days in san antonio it just didn't work and the room stayed around 80-82. Overnight and by 5am, the place did cool to about 76 and we got some sleep, but come morning we had to leave and advised we'd re-evaluate upon returning in the afternoon. also, please note "hangers" meant a single coat hanger in the closet, "refrigerator" was a small mini fridge to fit one take-out box and a couple bottles of water. We also had some issues with cleanliness of the shower. having worked in property management for years, it's definitely not the worst I've seen, but it warranted wearing sandals for showering. Again I will say, hugo was very pleasant and quick to respond. Unfortunately, it just wasn't the place for us, and we canceled the remaining 3 nights.

Near downtown. This is a very popular area for airbnb but it's urban and used to be a bad area of town. Very up and coming and I have never had any problems.
  • Loved Kevin’s place! VERY clean and nice and exactly what we needed. He was very nice and helpful! Thanks Kevin!!

  • Very cute house- clean, comfy! Was in an up-and-coming neighborhood but my family and I never felt unsafe. Kevin is super responsive, check-in/.out was easy, and the place is the perfect distance from downtown! I ran a race that started by the convention center and was able to jog to my race start from the AirBnB (and not deal with parking/traffic).

    Mariah2018-12-02T00:00:00Z
  • Quick responses, perfect location, clean home. Would book again .

    Tee2017-11-04T00:00:00Z
  • The neighborhood is worse than expected. If I wasn't traveling with my BF and dogs (which i normally don't), I wouldn't have stayed there after pulling up. It's obvious the neighborhood is going through a gentrification, but it has a ways to go. Things experienced on this 5 night stay include waking up to 3 police cars, an ambulance, and firetruck blocking the street off 3 doors down, people fighting in the street in of the house at 1am and then laying on a car horn for almost 10 min, sketchy looking people walking/ lingering around the fence of the house, neighbor bumping music several nights, late and loud enough to shake the house, a train coming by late at night... all that being said, inside the house was great. Plenty of linens, pillows, towels, soap, dishes, water, coffee etc.. Could comfortably sleep 4, AC ran like a champ in 100 degree weather, nice bathroom, washer/dryer, TV, and having a huge fenced yard for the dogs was awesome. So at the end of the day, it was worth the money, it's a lower cost rental due to the neighborhood, but the house is super comfy, you just gotta get past what's outside.

    Adrian2019-06-17T00:00:00Z
  • The outside appeared questionable however, I would do it all over again if I had to choose between there and a local hotel. Kevin's place was awesome. It was just like being at home. We had the comforts of the entire house, clean sheets, towels, a clean atmosphere and more. This was our first time using Airbnb he really set the bar high for other host. His price can't be matched.

Revisit the past in a brand new loft situated in a revived nineteenth century carriage house. With full amenities and the feel of home, this is the perfect starting point for exploring a historic neighborhood, the River Walk, and the best of downtown. At night, have a barbecue in the private backyard.
King William is one of the most beautiful districts in America. King William Street, where we are, is at the heart of the district with two museums--The Steves Homestead and Villa Finale--within one block in either direction, and access to the San Antonio Riverwalk/Mission Reach is just across the street. The famous Pioneer Flour Mill and Guenther House restaurant is at the end of our street, too! The King William Historic District dates back to the 1790s, when the land that once belonged to the Mission San Antonio de Valero (now known as The Alamo) was made available for native settlers in the area or sold at auction. In the 1860s, the area was divided into lots and sectioned by present-day streets. Soon after, German nationals who immigrated to Texas in the 1840s began to settle in the area. The area developed as the King William district when Ernst Altgelt, a German immigrant who later became a businessman in San Antonio, named its main street after King Wilhelm I, the king of Prussia in the 1870. But the King William district didn't always have its current title. It was once known as the "Sauerkraut Bend," a derogatory name given to the German community. And during World War I, when anti-German sentiment ran high, King William Street was named Pershing Avenue to honor U.S. Army Gen. John J. Pershing. The Greek Revival, Victorian and Italianate-styled homes that line King William Street date back to the 19th Century. These homes have been there from the start; Germans that settled in the area constructed large and impressive homes to form their own idyllic neighborhood. After World War II, the neighborhood's allure began to decline after original settlers moved away and houses fell into disrepair. In the 1950s, preservationists began to restore original homes, making it a fashionable district once again. With its revitalization came its historical value. In 1968, King William became the city's first designated historic district and in 1972, it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It was also given the title of the oldest historic district in Texas. Art is treasured in King William and Southtown. The historical district holds an art walk on the first Thursday of every other month, while Southtown holds a walk on the first Friday of every month. Both give exposure to local artists and musicians through pop-up shows and galleries. And every home in King William has a story. The Nix Houses were built in 1899 by J.M. and Birdie Nix, young property developers from Alabama. Their architect was a young Atlee B. Ayres, a major regional architect of the first half of the 20th century in central Texas. Ayres was the first San Antonio architect honored as a fellow of the American Institute of Architects. He was the Texas State Architect in the early 1910s and built thousands of iconic commercial and residential buildings and court houses across Texas. The Nix homes were started in December 1899 and finished by March 1900. Ever the business-minded family, the Nix's lived at 432 and used 434 as a boarding house. They had one son; a number of great grandchildren still live in the area. The Nix's occupied the home until 1907. In San Antonio, the Nix's built the Nix Hospital, the Emily Morgan Hotel, and the Majestic Theater, among others. The Bouquet family--Arthur William and Edna Laura--bought the home in 1943; daughter Edna Rose Bouquet lived in the home until 2005. For years, before King William was a designated historic district, Edna Rose, a redhead with long beautiful curls, operated a beauty salon in her carriage house. "I had a thousand customers in my heyday," she says. "I was the fastest hair stylist in San Antonio. I could turn you out in no time flat and you'd look beautiful. " The house and carriage house sat vacant until 2013 when the Galbraith family bought and restored the property. Welcome!
King William is the first historic district in Texas. We are on the San Antonio River Walk near downtown, with four museums right on our street. We have dozens of restaurants, bars, shops and sights to see within blocks of our place. It is best to put on your walking shoes to see everything.
  • Shelly's carriage house apartment is beyond perfect. It's cozy and within walking distance to shops, restaurants, the River Walk and the downtown area. Though our stay was short (only one night) we both left wishing we could stay longer. It was very clean and Shelly was incredibly helpful with recommendations and directions. I highly recommend staying here!

  • Excellent location walking distance to the river walk and all sorts of local bars, cafes, and local landmarks. The house description is completely accurate—charming, self-contained, and comfortable. Shelley was very accommodating and helpful.

  • Shelly's Carriage House apartment is perfect. In the beautiful King William District and located near all the cool kids hangouts PLUS walking distance to the River Walk and B-Cycle docks, breweries, excellent restaurants, coffee and tea shops, art galleries, little hole in the wall places off the beaten path...perfection! We parked our cars and didn't get back in them till we left 3 days later. The apartment itself is so well designed that it's making us rethink all of our 1400 sq. ft. In Galveston!

Your retreat in the city! Lavanderie is a clean, rustic, historic, 19th-century Cottage nestled in a private gated garden right in the heart of San Antonio. Literally across the street from the world famous Riverwalk and within walking distance from great shopping, restaurants, and bars. Only a 10 min walk from the World Heritage Alamo and a 1/2 mile from the Blue Star Arts Complex. It's perfect for couples, solo adventurers, and business travelers. Modern fun in a historic setting!
Staying at Lavanderie is an experience with the comforts of home, even though you're right in the heart of a city full of things to do and see! This romantic cottage is located on the estate of the Gustav Giesecke House in the King William Historic District of San Antonio and is a perfect romantic getaway or experience - something other than your traditional boring hotel room. There are no elevators or flights of stairs, although it is a bit of a cross the yard hike to the property so you may choose to reconsider wearing heals. Its rustic charm is more akin to a stay in a log cabin in the forest than a century-old guest house in the middle of the city, yet its fully appointed with linens, terry, soaps and shampoos - all the amenities you'd expect from a hotel stay. The bedroom, the majority of the original structure, houses a comfortable queen-sized bed with pillow top mattress. Original wood floors still run throughout. When you'd like to freshen up, the bathroom has a nice shower, the original claw foot tub and is stocked with thick, fluffy, super soft, oversized towels, soaps, and shampoos/conditioner. This cottage, “the wash house”, is what remains of the Victorian frame home and wash house build here in 1889 by Gustav Giesecke and his bride, Anna Francisca Groos. Their original frame home was demolished in 1915 when the couple expanded the property and built the large, brick, two-story, Arts-and-Crafts house which now stands as the main home on the estate. The Victorian wash house was converted into a guest cottage in 1950 with the addition of the sitting room and kitchen area and renovated in 2010. You'll find this snug, yet a comfortable space to get away and relax. In the area added by the two renovations, there's living/dining space, a small but 'mighty' kitchen, 32" flat panel TV with free Netflix. If you travel with your own entertainment, the TV fully supports connecting a Firestick or other devices via HDMI and USB. Your kitchen is small but still completely appointed with refrigerator, range/oven, microwave... and all the necessary cooking and dining utensils, coffee maker, plates, glasses, etc. to enjoy your own home-cooked meals, if you choose to cook. However, the entrance to the Riverwalk is right across the street and restaurants serving all varieties of cuisine can be found a short walk away. Parking is free, but only available on the street and is time limited by the city. We’ll help you stay in compliance so it remains free. Since 1889, only two families have owned the home and grounds. You'll see magnificent pecan and cypress trees on the property, these are believed to be centuries old. Native plants fill the lush garden surrounding Lavanderie. These plants provide a haven for wild birds so you'll likely see many varieties during your stay. Your cottage is a small, yet warm and comfortable retreat (500 sq. ft.) for you, or you and a loved one. If Lavanderie is available on dates you're looking at, grab that booking fast! Open dates do not last long. This is a very safe neighborhood and within walking distance to food, fun, everything really!
Your retreat cottage sits in a private, gated garden, in one corner of the Gustav Giesecke estate in the elegant King William Historic District. The neighborhood is listed on the National Register of Historic Places as one of San Antonio's oldest and most architecturally significant areas. The grand houses of this neighborhood were built by successful German immigrants on the land bordering the San Antonio River and formerly farmed by the Spanish missions. Right across the street you'll arrive at the start of the world-famous San Antonio Riverwalk (on the San Antonio River) which offers shopping, dining and entertainment for all tastes. Feel free to stroll the area. Welcome to your perfect romantic escape.
  • Quaint small guest quarters just right down the road form the river walk. Located very near pretty much everything you could need, and it is a quiet humble abode. All in all I give it 10/10 for a great little get-away retreat.

    Dakota2018-12-14T00:00:00Z
  • The location is great, only few mins away from river walk. We enjoyed the nice cottage very much.

  • Fantastic communication, perfect location, and a very cute, quaint cottage for two. Stayed with my newlywed husband for a romantic weekend and it was perfect for us. Easy to get into San Antonio, amongst beautiful historic mansions, and enough away from everything for privacy.

    Gwendolyn2018-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • Fabulous location!! My husband and I enjoyed walking around the neighborhood and rented bikes too. We love this area of San Antonio. The house itself was ok- we didn’t spend much time there. It is tucked away behind a big house and there is no outdoor lighting. As the listing says, when arriving at night, be prepared with your camera’s flashlight. Ladies, be careful in heels! The little pathway to the house is through the garden with pavers. I was also freezing with the window unit! My husband likes it cold so he had it at 70 and it was too cold for me in that little space. The bed was comfy. The bathroom tiny. I would’ve liked if coffee was provided, but they did provide basic kitchen utensils and supplies (we didn’t use them). Joe was super quick to respond to us and even left us a bottle of wine to enjoy which was very thoughtful!

    Amira2018-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect location for those wanting privacy, comfort, and quiet while still having the ability to quickly get where you need. I enjoyed the short walk along the River Walk every morning to the conference downtown. Not only beautiful parks within close distance to relax, but also several places to eat and shop within close distance when desired. My host was quick to respond to inquiries and even left a special welcoming gift. Cottage had everything I needed. I would definitely stay again next time in San Antonio!

    Jo2018-05-09T00:00:00Z
  • This place had exactly what I was looking for. It was tucked away in a secret garden behind a stately brick mansion in a historic district. I enjoyed walking the neighborhood to see the variety of large old estates. The Riverwalk has an access point almost right across the street. In 15 minutes I walked downtown, feeling safe and peaceful all the way. The cottage itself is informal classic ease. I love having a kitchen when I travel, and Joe makes sure that you have what you need. The bed and linens were really nice. I love the vintage touches like the French doors and claw foot tub! I will go back here again. I recommend it to others.

    Cynthia2018-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • The place was perfectly located and exactly what I was looking for during a 3 day business trip. Pretty, clean and private. Thank you

    Jason2019-07-26T00:00:00Z
  • The place was nice overall, but do be warned that an old cottage house is not an ideal accommodation for everyone. I had some problems with the internet wifi when I was there, and the place wasn't very easy to find, as it's behind a gate and not visible from the street. However I think this was just a one-off issue and I probably had some bad luck during my visit with the wifi and hot water for the shower. Otherwise, Very Comfortable beds and Joe was super responsive and helpful via email! Perhaps this house might have been a better stay during the summer!

  • Great location and spot on description for the listing. I liked having a place to park that was off the street. One of the dogs, Belle, was adorable and very friendly. Didn’t get to meet the others. Would recommend.

  • Nicholas and Mio were great! The place was amazing and the best Airbnb we have stayed at (we’ve been to a few). The best part were their sweet pups! It definitely made us feel right at home. This place is a MUST if you are in the San Antonio area! It was a $6 uber ride to the riverwalk!

Awaken in a minimalist bedroom with walls of limed and rough-hewn wood paneling. Traditional and reclaimed materials combine with contemporary design to create a unique and cozy space. Read a book on the shady front porch of this historic house.
The Studio is perfect for a single traveler or a couple who are looking for a comfortable, intimate, beautifully-designed space to call home. The bedroom features a mix of original and new wood, while the unique bathroom features plaster and copper piping details. The design is definitely unique among any room you have stayed in before--we had fun with these rooms! The queen-sized bed has nightstands, lights, and outlets on either side of the bed. On the opposite wall, the amenity shelves have all the essentials: wifi, Roku TV, mini-fridge, microwave, coffee-maker, and basic glassware and dishes. In one corner is a full-height wardrobe with room for hanging and drawer storage. The bathroom has a spacious stand-up shower, toilet and single sink with mirror above. The ceiling fan will do a lot to make the space comfortable year-round, especially when combined with open windows on a lovely day. However, on hot summer days and cold winter nights, a new minisplit on the wall opposite the bed will do the heavy lifting to efficiently heat and cool the space. The room features 100-year-old long-leaf pine on the bed wall, all of which is original to this 1907 house. The hardwood floors are also original. New white-washed pine boards line the other walls (and serve as the backdrop for some of our architecture drawings). The east-facing windows get beautiful morning light, which can be softened with translucent white curtains. To bring daylight into the bathroom while maintaining privacy, we installed a frosted sliding glass door. The bathroom itself has a distinct palette of custom plaster, rich floor tile, and custom wood shelves (also made from long-leaf pine harvested from the house). We hand-made the vanity and mirror base with backlight. The plumbing is all new with custom-design exposed copper piping. Don't forget to enjoy the private porch--perfect for relaxing outdoors under the trees, with great street/people-watching views from the right angle.
The house is in the King William neighborhood, right between the main boulevard, the river, and the bustling activity of Alamo Street. Many restaurants, bars, and shops are within a 10-minute walk. The famous Riverwalk begins 15 minutes upriver.
  • Really enjoyed the room, stylist design and everything I needed

    Danny2018-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • Absolute perfect for a single traveler or couple looking for a place to unwind and explore San Antonio. A/C works like a charm and the location is so close to great restaurants and just a nice walk or a Bird scooter rental to downtown or river entrances. I loved my stay for convention weekend and I hope to return!

    Marianne2018-07-29T00:00:00Z
  • Stayed here for a few days before my conference started. Located in a perfect area. Close to all the restaurants and bars. Everything is within a short drive. The room is nicely decorated, the bed is extremely comfortable, the AC works REALLY well, and had a bunch of great amenities. Ryan was in contact from the beginning, checked on me via email, and was quick to respond when I messaged him. I would highly recommend staying here!

    Joshua2018-09-13T00:00:00Z
  • Loved the location, close to downtown and a beautiful room with everything you could need on a trip! Would stay again!

    Alexis2017-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • Ryan's studio is exceptionally clean, modern, and a great place to decompress. I stayed here while attending a conference at the convention center. The convention center is only a 15 minute walk from the studio and a great alternative to the hotels in the more touristy part of town.

    Kevin2018-11-09T00:00:00Z
  • Everything you need in a lovely little space; just 2 blocks away from Riverwalk access and then it’s a 15 min walk into town (where a high density of restaurants and shops are). The neighborhood is beautiful and full of historic homes.

    Jen2018-04-18T00:00:00Z
  • This was a great place to stay for a weekend getaway! It was very easy to walk pretty much anywhere, close to the river walk, a bunch of restaurants and some bars. Ryan was very helpful and left detailed instructions for anything we could have needed, as well as some recommendations on where to eat and drink!

    Caitlin2017-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • Great location withing walking distance to many bars. Communication and check-in was very easy. I would stay again!

  • This place was really quaint and cozy for the four of us. We were asking distance from the market and the riverwalk and the amenities in the apartment complex itself were really great! Fantastic experience staying there and will stay there again!

    Josh2019-04-01T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed the space, and felt very taken care of. Unfortunately the router died on us, so the WiFi was out, it they tried hard to resolve the issue and ultimately gave us a discount. I felt like they did a great job handling a life reality.

    Brad2019-05-15T00:00:00Z
  • Nice and clean apartment about a half mile to river walk. Recommend visitors use Houston rather than Commerce street to travel to river walk. Nice view of city and Park. Host excellent communication.

    Ana2019-05-18T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful, absolutely clean place. Nice views. Great amenities. Checkout process is the easiest I have encountered. Easy 10-12 mins walk to restaurants at the Riverwalk and half of that to the main plaza. Street market is right at door steps.

    Manish2019-05-11T00:00:00Z
  • Great location! The view is great and so close to the riverwalk, place was insanely clean and very accommodating, beds were soo comfy. I’ve seen some people mention the traffic noise but for us it was pretty quiet, great night sleep and very friendly and helpful hosts!

Cozy casita loft/tiny home in Dignowity Hill built in October 2017. Our location is less than a mile from the Alamo, Alamodome, Riverwalk, and the Henry B Gonzales Convention Center. The Pearl and hundreds of restaurants are all either walkable or a short Uber ride away. The casita is a studio loft with 1 queen bed and a twin sofa bed. There is a full bathroom with a shower and a kitchenette with all of the essentials.
Our casita was built in October 2017. We are located in San Antonio's oldest neighborhood, historic Dignowity Hill. Dignowity Hill is a rapidly developing neighborhood located on the east side of downtown. It has become one of the highest demand areas in the city. Very close to the Riverwalk, Alamo, Alamodome, Southtown, The Pearl, River Center Mall, Henry B Gonzales Convention Center, Majestic Theater, Tower of Americas, Hemisfair Park, and many more. Easy access to major highways.
  • Great little spot that I’d definitely stay in again. Inside was clean and tidy with everything we needed. We were able to walk to the Pearl area then walked along to river to downtown, The Alamo, and dinner. Highly recommend.

    Ben2019-01-13T00:00:00Z
  • Really neat and cute house, for our one night stay in San Antonio. Convenient to ride a uber to downtown.

    Rong2018-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • We loved this place. Great location and such a relaxing place to come home to at the end of the day.

  • Great little space! Responsive hosts! Super clean!

    Dave2018-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • The casita is a cute place that’s close to downtown. Jalan was quick to respond and check in was very easy

    Joshua2018-01-14T00:00:00Z
  • Jalan’s casita was everything we needed and sits in the most perfect location. It was really close to everything we wanted to see on our trip and as an added bonus, it’s walking distance to the Alamo brewery. Our stay was perfect with the private driveway in the back for casita use. We even talked about coming back for another weekend and booking Jalan’s place a second time.

    Jordan2018-02-11T00:00:00Z
  • I did not want to leave the Casita after spending a night here! I wasn’t expecting it to be as comfortable and spacious as it turned out to be! The ladder was secure and not scary to climb up and down. Jalan provides a fan on the loft in case things get too hot high up, but the AC alone was enough to keep the casita cool throughout. Everything was so clean that it was like we were the first ones to ever stay at the casita. I can’t wait to stay here again in the future and recommend this place to my friends!

    Celica2019-07-21T00:00:00Z

  • House was the most stocked Airbnb we have stayed at. We enjoyed relaxing family time there watching tv/movie as well as sightseeing in the area. Nice roomy rooms & beds.

    Carole2017-07-08T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay here. Adorable home, comfortable bed, stocked shower, and plenty to snack on in the kitchen. The bikes were a wonderful perk as well. Eric and Mercedes are great hosts with plenty of advice on good food/things to do. When we arrived they gave us a full tour of the details of the home, and we're always a text message away when we had questions. Overall a great stay!

    Jeremiah2016-07-03T00:00:00Z
  • This is such a cute little home. We were spoiled with treats, wine, and drinks. Doesn't get better than this. Easy to downtown and all sights. Absolutely loved it!!!

    Lina2016-04-01T00:00:00Z
  • They did a fantastic job letting me know the necessary information and making sure everything was taken care of for when my husband and his friends arrived. The house is amazing and the dining room is super awesome!

    Sandra2016-10-02T00:00:00Z
  • The house was super cute and comfortable, and the location was great for getting downtown and to the Pearl Brewery. Eric and Mercedes provided lots of recommendations and were very welcoming. The street that the house is on is not really a neighborhood, which surprised me, but we felt safe and it was relatively quiet. We'd definitely stay there again!

Bright, airy, and comfortable guest bedroom, right off the front porch. Direct view of Dignowity Park!
The location to attractions like Downtown, The Riverwalk, The Pearl, Alamo Beer Company, and many other attractions, is second to none.
Dignowity Hill is located on San Antonio's Eastside, less than a mile from downtown San Antonio. It was the first exclusive residential area in San Antonio, preceding King William and Laurel Heights. It is home to many attractions including The Alamo Beer Company and the renowned Hays Street Bridge.
  • Nice location near Downtown. Very clean and private parking was a plus! Eddie was super nice and helpful. Would definitively recommend to my friends/family.

    Daniel2019-04-28T00:00:00Z
  • Great room for the price.

    Pablo2019-09-11T00:00:00Z
  • One of the cleanest AirBnBs I’ve stayed in. House feels new. No curtains so enjoy the sunshine in the morning.

    Antonio2019-07-13T00:00:00Z
  • The house was really close to downtown and was impeccably clean and comfy. He also left a wonderful little note suggesting places to good places eat and hang out.

    Elizabeth2019-05-20T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our short stay at Eddie’s very much! He continues to make improvements at this house and I loved the bed - the most important item, I think. Plus it was immaculate and so pretty.. it was walking distance to the Alamo Bowl and the Riverwalk - and we are 67 and 69! Right now it is the basics - great bedroom and shower/bath. Kitchen is coming along and Eddie is the kind of host we like - attentive, but not too! Ultra Comfortable! We would highly recommend it especially at this bargain price!

    Vicki2018-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful modern space and super clean! I couldn’t get over how comfortable the bed was. Perfect spot to stay for a quick trip. Eddie was communicative and hospitable. Would definitely stay again!

    Erica2019-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Very clean, comfortable room. Apparently they are just getting settled in and amenities in the kitchen were a bit sparse. Would give it five stars if there were utensils and kitchenware available.

    Bryan2019-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • The place is spotless and very big. Our bathroom was just perfect. It's located close to the Alamo and the Riverwalk. We walked to the cityand that was a 15 minute walk. Be aware of the fact that the neigbourhood does have their " special individuals " so after sunset you might want to consider taking an Uber or Taxi. We always took an Uber and never had any problems or ran into the wrong people. It is a great place to stay.

My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travellers, families (with kids), and big groups.
  • The location of the room was perfect! really close to the alamo, riverwalk, restaurants and downtown activities. definitely a good place to crash after a day full of activities.. The only thing we didn't know was that we needed to pay vallet parking for US$15.00 a day which on the bright side is cheaper than most places downtown anyways.

    Patricia2016-10-16T00:00:00Z
  • Floors were pretty dirty, but it looks like they did just recently redecorate, so it at least looked nicer. The outside walls/windows are very thin so bring some earplugs or a white noise machine if you are a light sleeper. It can be loud! Great location, though. You can be at the Alamo in about 5 minutes, the Riverwalk in about 10 minutes, and the local mall in about 7 minutes. For the price and location, it was an alright stay and we would do it again.

    Tami2017-05-15T00:00:00Z
  • awesome location, very close to the Riverwalk and any other attractions you may want to see in downtown. Staff is super nice and do their Best to help in any way they can

    Katelyn2017-01-29T00:00:00Z
  • We were only able to have one night in San Antonio and were very satisfied with the accommodation provided at this Days Inn at a good price. If booked in other ways, a $15 parking charge might apply but we saved that by booking Airbnb. Very nice tv and location was ideal for Alamo and key sights we wanted.

    Tracy2017-04-16T00:00:00Z
  • Good place. Motel fashion layout, semi-close to a bad area, but not bad at all.

    Justin2017-05-20T00:00:00Z
  • Clean, close to Alamo. Will most likely book again considering the good price and location.

    Cassandra2017-03-26T00:00:00Z

Newly built dog-friendly home in historic Dignowity Hill. Private room and bathroom on main floor in safe and friendly neighborhood, all within 2 miles of all downtown attractions including the Pearl District, great breweries (our favorite!), the Gonzales Convention Center, ATT Center, Alamodome, and the Alamo, just to name a few. Easy transportation options to get anywhere. We look forward to hosting your SA visit and have lots of recommendations! *Dogs are not to be left unattended.*
Dedicated downstairs bedroom space for guest use on the main floor. Guest and hosts use same access door. Laundry room and garage are both in the downstairs area as well. Hosts, 2 large dogs, and a kitten live upstairs. Brand new house, very clean space, and all amenities you may need are included!
Small town feel in the middle of the city, just a quick bike or Uber ride anywhere you want to be! Close to railroad tracks, but most city spots are. We have special earplugs and a sound machine for you in case you’re a super light sleeper.
  • This place is the perfect distance from the city but still an easy walk to everything. Will definitely stay again if I come back into town.

  • Absolutely awesome hosts, great place, close to everything, super clean, they thought of everything. Highly recommended!!

  • My friend and I are on a cross country road trip with two large dogs and chose to stay with Brittney for the night. The space was clean, comfortable, and had amazing amenities. I am glad that dog accommodations were available. Unfortunately, my dogs were bothered by the noise around them and barked continuously for a few hours without me knowing when we went for dinner. Then, they continued to bark at every noise throughout the night. I feel bad that they were not better behaved but they have been under stress with the move. If you are traveling with a noise sensitive dog, this may not be the place for you. Otherwise, the location is very dog friendly and my pups enjoyed the dog park just a few houses down. I would recommend Brittney's place.

    Kaitlin2019-04-02T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Brittney’s was great. The space was super clean and exactly as depicted in the pictures/description. There are snacks, drinks, toiletries, towels, blankets, coffee and even a little booklet to help find your way around San Antonio. The check-in/out was very easy and Brittney communicates well. 5/5 would stay here again if I was in San Antonio.

    Tanner2018-11-04T00:00:00Z
  • Brittney’s place has everything you need and is super clean! She was very flexible with letting me check in early.

    Gisel2018-11-26T00:00:00Z
  • Brittany provided a truly great stay and I thank her for for sharing her home. Her guest space is very thoughtfully designed, and exceptionally comfortable and restful. I think it was a great location - very close to The Pearl and interesting restaurants, and an easy drive to the Convention Center even during "rush hour" when I needed to make 8:00 meetings. I found the immediate neighborhood to be lovely, creative, quiet and an example of the great work that San Antonia is doing to ensure it continues to develop as a vibrant and thriving city. In short - loved it!

    Leslie2019-03-20T00:00:00Z
  • Brittney’s home was perfect. It offered some much needed relaxation and recharging amidst a 3-day drive from Florida to Arizona. We got in late, so unfortunately we didn’t get to meet Brittney, but she was very responsive and helpful anytime I reached out. They’ve thought of everything, from little treats, to toiletries, chargers to plenty of pillows and blankets. Their home is beautiful and I wish it was mine! Or that I could have stayed for more than one night. Their dog Pax is a total sweetheart and was quietly and calmly laying at the top of the stairs, not reacting at all to the commotion of us coming or going. This private room offered more amenities than I could’ve asked for. Highly recommend staying here!

Minimalistic studio LESS THAN 1 MILE FROM THE ALAMO with Tandem Bike! Located in #HistoricDiggyHill, on the near east side of San Antonio, TX just outside of down town (the ONLY neighborhood in S.A. where you can see the entire skyline). Take an Uber or scooter into the city for less than $10 (both ways), or take our tandem bike into town with no extra cost! This guest suite has a kitchenette with all cooking essentials provided as well as a completely private entrance and romantic deck.
Minimalistic space with all basic necessities provided, including cooking essentials and Tandem Bike to take into the city!
This airbnb is located in an up-and-coming historic area called Dignowity Hill. The houses are each beautifully unique and interesting, decorated with details and colorful paint! The neighborhood has local coffee shops, restaurants, and shops that are within walking distance; however, we understand that not everyone may be comfortable walking more than a few blocks (especially in the summer) and we may recommend taking our Tandem Bike (no extra cost), an uber or a public electric scooter/bike. Walking distance restaurants will be provided in a separate list.
  • A last minute booking yielded a great find. Carly was flexible in my arrival time which I greatly appreciated. The location is a quick Uber ride to downtown which saved a good amount in parking and headaches. Space was comfortable and relaxing. I even had a friendly feline greet me on the porch when I arrived one of the evenings. I will definitely keep this place bookmarked and recommend it to others.

    Michelle2019-06-14T00:00:00Z
  • Carly’s space is in the perfect location to access any part of San Antonio, especially downtown and The Pearl. Or, if you’d like to stay in one day, the spacious patio is perfect to sit outside and relax with cup of coffee or glass of wine. It was clean and inviting and we would definitely enjoy staying here again.

    Brandon2018-05-23T00:00:00Z
  • Carly's place was amazing!!! Super clean, absolutely comfortable, just the space we needed for the 2 of us. So close to Downtown/Riverwalk and the AT&T Center. It was very quiet every evening, and we enjoyed having tea on the porch in the mornings on the patio! If we ever come back to S.A., we will definitely book here. Highly recommended!!!

  • My husband and I really enjoyed our stay at Carly's place. It was clean, stylish, and full of thoughtful touches (tea, coffee, water, soaps, etc). Just enough space for the two of us and the bed was comfy too. Would stay here again if we ever are in town again!

    Sara & Jonathan2018-05-19T00:00:00Z
  • Carly's place feels luxurious and calm, it was the perfect place to relax in the sun with a coffee after exploring San Antonio. The little touches like chilled drinks, good shower pressure and a quality bed made it a lovely stay. It's in walking distance from the river walk, and close to the Pearl district - loved it! Carly was a brilliant host - welcoming, helpful, and also leaving us to relax for the most part. Thanks for helping us make the most of our stay Carly.

    Lana2018-10-28T00:00:00Z

  • Elegant style, very central location. Loud on the weekend, but that's life in the city.

  • Great service, clean & awesome location near city attractions

  • We stayed in the junior suite with our small dog and were very comfortable. There is a sofa bed and very comfortable king size bed. The room was spacious and very clean. This hotel was well located and we walked everywhere, including The Alamo right across the street. The parking lot next door to the hotel was very well lit and we used that instead of the valet . Great experience and we will be back!

    Denise2019-04-16T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay! We’ve never stayed here before and didn’t expect it to be so close to the Alamo. I could literally see it from my window. It was super close to everything! The breakfast was amazing and Jessica seriously made us feel like we were right at home. The drinks at the bar are cheap and the bartender was talkative and nice! We would definitely stay here again. Not a single complaint

Host is extremely welcoming and wonderful, will help you with anything you need. And Apartment feels like a house to me, since you have opening to inside yard. Style of it makes it feel even better than expected. Super cozy and fun place to be. Will definitely come back.

Juan provided almost everything you'll need for a relaxing stay. His recommendations were good (Dignowity Meats is great) and the neighborhood is nice and parking is easy.

  • Fantastic stay! You literally walk out the back door of the apartments onto the Riverwalk, and everything we needed was in walking distance. We had access to the complimentary parking garage as well. She met us at the front and showed us the amenities (beautiful pool and lounge area with grills, pretty big workout center, beautiful view of Riverwalk in the back with cozy hanging chairs, rooftop patio with a kitchen). Room was super clean and well kept. She gave us great recommendations of things to do and places to see. Had soap, towels, and even toothpaste for us. Room has a full kitchen, cozy bed, living room area with TV, and nice balcony with a view of the pool. Amanda definitely has her stuff together and does this simply to help out visitors to the city, much appreciated. Highly recommend, was definitely worth it!

  • Located in a nice neighborhood with great street parking and a quick walk/Bird scooter ride away from the Riverwalk! The complex was very quiet and secure. The room was clean and decorated very nicely. We already booked our next stay and will definitely be recommending to others visiting!

  • This place is amazing and I can not speak highly enough of Stephanie and Joe. Their studio is completely remodeled and sparkling clean. It is in a very safe and historic part of San Antonio. There are many great restaurants and bars that are walking distance away. Getting to the Riverwalk/Alamo is a 5-10 minute drive or you can hop on an Uber/lime/bird scooter and get there in the same amount of time. Stephanie and Joe were very fast to respond to any questions I had. I was even able to hang out with them at the Oyster Bake where they volunteered at. Their place has a ton of amenities and the sleeping arrangement is very comfortable. They let me check in early and check out late. The place is very easy to find and incredibly easy to access. I will definitely stay here again and recommend their place for anyone who is visiting San Antonio.

All basics are included as fresh linen, towels, toiletries and bottled water. Room was also fitted with brand new AC to make sure that you do have full comfort. Also feel free to help yourselves to our breakfast in the morning.
This is a hotel bedroom, however its fully remodeled for our direct and Airbnb guests based on the feedback from you which we greatly appreciate.
We are located in the downtown Riverwalk area. Benefiting of carpark, and the convenience of getting to us by car and then on foot around the Riverwalk, Alamo, Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center and Alamodome. Safe location to walk even during the evenings. Airport is reachable in under 20 min by taxi or around 40 min with heavy traffic.
  • The room was good the shower floor had some issues with dirt and with no where to put soap or shampoo except on that floor it wasn t great, but everything else in the room was clean and nice and the hairdryer was a real plus. The Inn is right around the corner from the river walk and a starbucks, but they provided a continental breakfast at the inn. They also brought down some extra pillows for us very kindly when we requested them. This is always a decent stay

Parking is a little bit of a hassle but that's staying downtown anywhere. The apartment was super clean with a comfortable bed and we'll definitely be back!

  • Immaculately clean location in refurbished apartment building. Host had open lines of communication at all times. Ideal location for the downtown area, though this also means it gets just a little noisy on the weekends. That's not a mark against the host! Just realize great access has one small downside.

    Sanket2018-11-18T00:00:00Z
  • Host is right, can be loud at night. Mitigation factors there. Ear plugs, white noise machine. If you are sensitive to LOUD night time, please pay head to the warnings. Spot on Riverwalk is AWESOME!!! Quick and easy to everything there!

Beautiful apartment in a remodeled 1900's house in San Antonio's Dignowity Hill Historic District. Our home is located less than a mile from the Alamo, Alamodome, Henry B Gonzales Convention center and the Riverwalk. The Pearl and hundreds of restaurants are all either walkable or a short Uber ride away. The apartment has 1 bedroom, a living room with queen sized sleeper sofa, full bathroom with tub/shower combo, kitchen including dishwasher and a washer/dryer.
Our house is recently updated with all high end appliances yet keeps it's historic charm from the original 1900's. Very close to the Riverwalk, the Alamo, Alamodome and all downtown attractions. Easy access to transit and highways. There is a large fenced backyard shaded by a mature pecan tree. If you catch it in the fall the pecans are very good! Outdoor seating is provided as well as a grill. One of San Antonio's oldest historic neighborhoods, Dignowity Hill is an up and coming artsy neighborhood in the urban core, walking distance to the Alamodome, St. Paul's Square/Sunset Station, River Center Mall, the RiverWalk, the Alamo, La Villita, The Convention Center, The Tower of the Americas in Hemisfair Park, the Majestic Theater and 100's of restaurants.
Sports and live music fans flock to the Near East Side to visit the Alamodome. Once home to actress Joan Crawford, this part of San Antonio includes charming Saint Paul Square, the historic up and coming neighborhoods of Dignowity Hill, Government Hill and the Knob Hill with its landmark Victorian homes the Elizabeth Bowen Nelson House and other Classical Revival architecture. Other neighborhoods include Denver Heights and The Historic Gardens Neighborhoods adjacent to the Alamodome. The Hays Street Bridge is a land bridge that connects downtown to the Near East Side while offering walking, biking, and outdoor recreation. Other notable landmarks are the historic San Antonio Cemeteries, The Mission Revival style Southern Pacific Passenger Depot (and other landmark structures at Sunset Station) and The University of Houston's San Antonio branch of its Conrad Hilton College.
  • The apartment was clean, comfortable, and as described. It has a nice garden to enjoy a coffee outside, weather and mosquitos permitting. The neighbourhood was safe, though not particularly interesting. It's about a 20 minute walk to the Riverwalk downtown. We enjoyed our stay here.

    Martijn2016-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment was great, plenty of space, full kitchen, and the bathroom was stocked with travel toiletries and towels. Free wifi, good air conditioning (important for Texas!). The hosts were very responsive to changes (e.g., from 1 to 2 guests), and were even willing to put up our luggage so we could walk around the city on our last day after checkout. The area isn't the most developed, so it is about .5 miles from the riverwalk. I didn't personally feel unsafe but I could see how others might be uncomfortable with that.

  • The apartment has everything you need. From washer to dryer and a lot of amenities like shampoo etc. That was great! You can easily ride to downtown by JUMP/UBER which is approx. 5-10 min ride. You can also walk during daytime within 15-20 min. to riverwalk. I stayed for a conference visit since the conference center is only 5 min. by bike.

  • I really enjoyed my stay in San Antonio at Mandy/Danny's apt! The apartment was roomy and clean and well-renovated, and it was a doable walk to downtown. I met my hosts upon arrival, and they were very helpful and friendly, but all went smoothly with my stay and I didn't have to have any contact with them during my stay.

  • Mandy met us out front when we got there and was very informative on the cottage. She made herself available if we would need anything at all. The cottage had everything we needed and the bed was comfortable and shower was nice and hot. Don't let the front of the house scare you away. The cottage is cute and very clean. Thank you Mandy.

  • When I first booked this unit and received the address, I naturally googled it. Do not go by the picture on GoogleMaps. The house is currently under construction and looks nothing like that picture. The location is perfect for walking to the Riverwalk and the downtown area. I went for long walks by myself in the mornings around the neighborhood and felt completely safe. It is a bare minimum apartment though and could use some updating and a few more amenities. There is only one TV which is in the bedroom. It does have a nice little seating area in the backyard, but it really needed to be mowed to be able to enjoy sitting there. That being said, we did enjoy our stay and the time we got to spend with our kids.
