In addition, towels, soap, umbrella, ect. are all provided so that you won't have to weigh down your luggage! Most people will tell you that the easiest way to get around the city is by bike, there are bike rentals for rent within walking distances on OC Haley!
There's New Orleans, the very commercialized place that would make you believe that the French Quarter is all there is. But then there's NEW ORLEANS, the city whose struggles are real but celebrations are even more real and paramount!!! We get down, and my neighborhood itself is one of the cultural centers of the city. Music and traditions run rampant through my streets from the occasional Saturday 2nd line where neighbors just join right in and dance to the brass band music, to our street preacher whose congregation is outside rather than in, and boy does he love to sing! Not too far up the road is Cafe Reconcile, an award winning restaurant that hires at risk teens and teaches them entrepreneurial skills. There's also Central City BBQ, Dryades Public Market, Heard Dat Kitchen and Roux Carre just to name a few tasty spots. Any given day you'll find the mayor there or even Saints players. Let's not mention that the 2nd largest Mardi Gras parade (Zulu) literally rolls right behind my house on Fat Tuesday! So, if you prefer the stately mansions of St. Charles Avenue as the view from your window, this accommodation is NOT for you. Yet, if you want to get the local's perspective of living and partake in some of the cities' oldest traditions, then come right along.

The neighborhood is a quiet sanctuary from the party atmosphere of Frenchmen Street and the Quarter, with the Superdome and CBD in the background. Walk over a few blocks to St. Charles and you can ride the streetcar down to Canal or up to the Garden District, here is one of many reviews! "The location was perfect. The bbq place across the street is awesome for easy meals and there was a market close by so we could purchase waters when we arrived. It was really quiet as well, and very nice to come home to a comfortable spot at the end of the day. It's a 3 minute walk to the streetcar stop on Saint Charles Avenue. The beautifully restored streetcars play a vital role in public transportation throughout the city. Street is busy because of the proximity to Amtrak & Greyhound Stations, very urban. Great spot for those who want a budget stay in a conveniently located & comfortable place. One can expect a very clean retreat to rest while visiting as a tourist, or in a business trip.
House is about 1700sq/ft with 3 bedrooms and 2.5 bath. Specious and comfortable amenities. There is a parking space with a gate. Guests can access all areas.
The area is very centrally located and convenient. It’s walking distance from many places downtown and uptown New Orleans. Uber and lift rides are always available within 5 minutes and for most spots of the city, costs $5-$10 French Quarter is only a 5-minute ride away. You may walk from the house to the Smoothie King and Superdome arenas (10 minute walk roughly). Avoid night walks alone. The blocks towards the rear of the house, going towards Saint Charles Ave and the conventional center are very nice and safe to walk around alone. You may take a left on Martin Luther King and go all the way to the Conventional Center on the river. The blocks ahead of the house are very lively with the proximity with Amtrak and Greyhound stations, mind the presence of homeless people. There are two neighborhood bars on the street. The area is still undergoing gentrification, and still has a lot of the typical cultural traits of the urban inner city New Orleans life. It may look too lively for some folks, but it’s truly as safe as generally most parts of New Orleans can be. The bars on both corners are known for being startups for hip-hop artists like Lil Wayne and Babe, and the area is still a meet up point for the original community members. We LOVE our home. We are first time home owners and have put some serious attention and time into this place. The twelve foot ceilings, exposed brick chimneys, huge back yard (complete with a fruit bearing avocado tree,) are just a few things we love about this charming shotgun double. We recommend drinking your morning coffee in the backyard under the sun shades, or enjoying a cocktail lit by cafe lights in the evening. The open living room and kitchen make gathering an easy option when cooking, or mixing up some drinks. Use the washer and dryer at any time (we know it gets a little hot and sticky here. And we KNOW you're going to do some dancing.)

Four New Orleans based artists were commissioned to create large-scale murals and paintings of native Louisiana birds and the vibrant landscapes they inhabit. The six large murals feature a variety of local birds, including Roseate Spoonbills (also known as the Cajun Flamingo), Scarlet Ibises, Tri-Colored and Blue Herons, and an Egret. The paintings were drawn over historic Louisiana map paper salvaged from the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries as well as Jean Lafitte National Park. All five bedrooms feature memory foam mattresses, plush and firm pillows, full length mirrors, reading lights, hangers, and many, many power outlets. The spa-like bathrooms all have showers with strong pressure and are stocked with salon quality hair dryers, luxury soaps, and shampoo & conditioner. There are multiple ironing boards and irons and a brand new Samsung Washer and Dryer with multi-steam technology. The Kitchen has a large refrigerator with filtered water and ice making, dishwasher, stove, oven, and microwave. It's fully stocked with cookware and dishware, perfect for both cooking a meal or serving a delivered one. A variety of local coffees and condiments (including some great Louisiana hot sauces) are provided.
