  • Five stars and three cheers are not adequate to describe our stay in Tasmania and Mike's bungalow. We woke up each morning to magnificent sunrises over the bay and at night saw stars like we hadn't seen before. Mike provides an extraordinary optional dining service which seriously needs to be experienced. We loved it and hope to return - thank you Mike.

  • We had the best stay at mike's place. He had the fire lit for us on arrival and made sure we were comfortable. The bungalow was very warm and cosy. The property was wonderful with views and farm animals. Best brioche and quiche for breakfast. We will be back thanks Mike!

  • We reached Phoenix farm late at night and lost our way on the way there. Gave Mike a call, who guided us to his place. He met us at arrival and checked us in. The cottage has a scenic location, overlooking the bay and is set in a farm. It is well - equipped. We'd read about Mike's culinary skills in the previous reviews , and for us he put up a fabulous breakfast. He even gave us a bottle of his farm made jam for us to take home..! Recommended.

  • Thank you Mike for your warm hospitality and providing a cozy cabin in an incredibly beautiful part of SE Tasmania - it all made for a lovely retreat after a days hiking and adventures around Port Arthur and Cape Hauy. Everything was as per description, clean and well prepared with a fireplace to top it all off - the view from the cabin is unforgettable especially at sunrise. Looking forward to any opportunity to stay here again.

  • Sea Whisper is beautifully located on the left hand side of the road coming into Dunalley from Hobart. The views are wonderful and the house is beautiful and spotlessly clean. Although there was a heater in the spacious living area, I couldn't find a remote for it. The bedrooms all had space heaters that worked well. Jie is a good, helpful host. You need to bring all your own foodstuffs except tea. The kitchen is well equipped so preparing your own meals is easy. It is a comfortable and lovely house.

Marion Bay is a peaceful, quiet area. It is not far to our amazing Marion Bay beach or to the beautiful Bangor Vineyard Shed, both well worth a look. We are also only @40 minute drive to Port Arthur.
  • Ann’s place is a lovely hidden gem in Marion Bay Area. The home looks over a huge private dam and the bay. We drove up to the house via the paddock with their flock of woolly sheep. We were greeted by Max the friendly dog. The check in with Ann was great as she showed us around was able to do it at a time that suited us. The home has a lovely open plan living area with a great kitchen. It could have been that we had just finished camping for a few days but wow the shower was amazing! Make sure you open the window to enjoy the view while you are having a shower. It felt like we slept under the stars in the front bedroom overlooking the dam. The bed was as soft as a cloud. Close to the Port Arthur area and Hobart it is the perfect home base for some great day trips.

  • Ann and Andrews guest house was clean friendly and a very enjoyable stay.

  • If i could, i would rate this place 10 stars. It is absolutely like a 5 star country stay. Everything is absolutely spotless and ridiculously comfy. We were really impressed with the interior and place. Ann was also very understanding and accommodating of our needs when we checked in later than we expected. There was also lots of easy breakfast items - butter and milk in the fridge. There was even a compost bin for food scraps. This is definitely a must stay for anyone travelling along the east coast and is a wonderful place to stay.

    Melissa2018-01-23T00:00:00Z
  • Would highly recommend. The morning view across the dam was stunning and the BNB was lovely and warm on arrival. The floor in the bathrooms contains glow in the dark pebbles. A great partying trick! Thanks again Ann

  • Ann's place was very relaxing and was lovely to see all the wild life in their natural habitat. Great supplies , very clean and Ann is a lovely accommodating host. If you require privacy it's important to know this accommodation is attached to the hosts house. All over a lovely stay.

    Marion Bay, TAS, Australia

Open plan timber cottage with sweeping views across dairy pasture to Maria Island, Marion Bay Beach and Forester Peninsula. We have easy access to Port Arthur and Tasman Peninsula to the south, and Orford and the East Coast to the north. An easy 40 minute drive from Hobart and convenient 20 drive from Hobart Airport. (Final half k is well-maintained gravel road.)
Our house features clean lines, polished timber floors, white walls decorated with Tasmanian art. The house is small, however the cathedral ceiling and mezzanine create a spacious feeling, while the wood fire easily heats the living area. The house has a generous covered verandah ideal for morning coffee and outdoor lunch. We have a rain water tank supplying clean drinking water. Our small block includes deciduous specimens, native flora, orchard and vegetable garden. Our garden is a haven for birdlife - from the tiny magnificent blue wren to the noisy wattle bird. The fields and dams are home to native hens and marsh harriers and are visited by wedge-tail and sea eagles, herons and swans. The garden is visited by the odd wombat, bandicoot, poteroo and little forest bat. We love our weekender and stay at every opportunity, rain, hail or shine. The house is simple but very comfortable. The area is safe, fantastic for long walks and bike rides on country roads or along the spectacular Marion Bay Beach. We are 15 minutes drive from the township of Dunalley along a picturesque seaside road, for petrol, groceries, pub and cafés (the Dunalley Fish Market is renown for its fresh seafood and chips).
We are situated in a small coastal hamlet, surrounded by a beautiful dairy farm. Our neighbours include Gillespie's Ginger Beer factory, artists and makers and the award winning Bream Creek Vineyard and Cape Bernier Vineyard. We enjoy the dairy farm's beautiful herd of friesian cows and the coast views and views toward The Ragged Tier and Maria Island.
  • We absolutely loved this place. Cosy, relaxing, clean & comfortable, and in such a beautiful part of the world. Looking forward to our next visit!

  • A wonderful and inspiring studio haven high on the hill in the middle of this great community. It has everything you need to feel at home including a abundantly rich market garden stall just a stroll away down the road. It really is a creatively rich environment to be. Would recommend visitors to the area to stay at Gordons place. Thanks again.

    Genna2017-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • Gordon’s home is utterly beautiful. The space is so thoughtfully designed, with bright and cosy furnishings and incredible views out across Marion Bay. The house has everything you need and the garden is home to an abundance of bird life. We had a very relaxing weekend and really hope we can come again soon. Thank you Gordon!

  • This is a wonderful spot to while away some time. The location is spectacular and Gordon and Sarah's place demands relaxation. Our communication with Gordon before and after was as easy as can be. You can tell they put care into their place and enjoy sharing it with others. Thanks again!

  • A lovely place with a peaceful outlook. Very comfortable and relaxing.

    Demetra2019-01-23T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful place overlooking bay-quiet and serene . Enjoyed the piano and games that were in the house. I would recommend this to anyone wanting a quiet relaxing getaway. I would also recommend getting groceries before you arrive as the general only had canned food. Gordon was very welcoming and friendly on arrival. We appreciated the extra touches such as a snack for our arrival and fresh picked flowers from the garden.

    Jeorge2019-01-10T00:00:00Z
  • Gordon's place has a lovely wood fire, attractive and quiet rural location, access to fresh local produce and is generally a pleasant place to stay.

    Vanessa2019-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely rustic cottage in a rural setting surrounded by farmland yet only 2 minutes drive to the beach . With no WiFi or TV it was great to chill out , play cards ,board games and read books . If you want to visit shops or a pub , Dunalley is 15 minutes drive away . Gordon, the host , met us there and explained everything we needed to know and left us some delicious produce from his veggie garden . Great views of the ocean from the claw foot bath .

Flotsam has two fabulous fully self-contained studios, right at the doorway to the Tasman Peninsula. Each has their own private surroundings and fantastic views. We are about 30 mins due east of Hobart Airport. It's ideal for one-night stays, but, if time permitting, treat yourself to a few days so you can explore this incredible area which is all within easy reach. The Studios are well-designed and modern, and have lovely touches which will make your stay very comfortable and special.
Flotsam is perched high above the beautiful Dunalley Beach which you can access from your studio. At low tide you can walk way out on the shoals. It's quite unique. And only 15 mins away is the start to the Tasman Peninsula, where you can visit the Port Arthur Convict Site and all the natural wonders, like the Tasman Arch and the Blow Hole, or put your hiking boots on an do the famous walks - like Three Capes, Crescent Beach, Ship Stern's Bluff, Waterfall Bay! They're fabulous! Or if you want to explore the beaches, there's our Marion Bay Beach, or Sommer's Bay Beach near Murdunna, or Eaglehawk Neck Beach, or the lovely bay beaches of Dodges Ferry. We have some terrific places to eat in Dunalley - the Waterfront Cafe, where you can watch the boats at anchor in Blackman Bay. Or go to Bruce's down on the canal for authentic fish and chips wrapped in newspaper. Or just over the road from us is the lovely Bangor Vineyard where you can have food and wine. And the Dunalley Hotel is always open for dinner and they specialise in fresh local fish.
  • Lovely place to stay on way to or from Port Arthur.

  • My wife and I stayed in the newly refurbished Studio 2 "Afloat" and couldn't have asked for better accomodation. Sweeping views of the bay greet you as you enter from both the living and bedroom areas. Every little detail has been well thought out and perfectly complements the space. The driftwood clothes rack is a lovely touch. Flotsam is close enough for convenient day trips to Port Arthur and the Tasman Peninsula but secluded enough for a weekend getaway. We highly recommend a stay at Flotsam.

    Hamish2017-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • Flotsam is a delightful space. Clean, comfortable and stylish. After 4 days on the 3 capes track it was just the recovery we needed. The wood fire was so lovely to keep us warm and cosy and plenty of wood was supplied. There is some road noise as other reviews have suggested but the water views, comfortable bed and serenity of the setting makes up for it. Food wise, the pub is close. Apart from this there is nothing nearby so bring your own supplies. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Afloat studio and would definitely stay there again if in Dunalley.

Our house is set amongst rolling dairy pastures and bushland, in the small but thriving community of Bream Creek. 5 mins to spectacular Marion Bay beach, 40 mins to the Port Arthur World Heritage site, 50 mins to MONA and a short drive to the East Coast. Enjoy complete privacy with easy access to the highlights of Southern Tasmania.
  • The location of the farmhouse was ideal for our needs - 30mins from Hobart and less from the the airport, 30mins or so from the Tasman Peninsula and only a pleasant drive through national forest to access the main East coast road. We found the farmhouse to be well-furnished, with great views from the kitchen / dining room, some interesting old furniture, all necessary conveniences and a pleasant master bedroom and en-suite upstairs. Brigid went out of her way to make our stay comfortable. Before we left there were comprehensive instructions and advice, during our stay there was adequate communication to ensure all was well and when we did have a problem (not related to the property), Brigid's local contacts went out of their way to help us! We'd highly recommend this property for a small family looking to explore Tasmania for a week or so!

    Christopher2016-02-07T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was as Brigid had said & I felt at home immediately. Access was straight forward, the house homely & welcoming with lots of windows & light & views that went on forever. I really liked the outdoor living options-decks, verandah & balcony. I also liked that the fire had been set in advance for us - very thoughtful as the evenings were a little cooler. The location is very convenient to the airport & Hobart while the drive to MONA was less than an hour which we thought was fine. The extension to the original home is delightful & airy taking full advantage of the views of the surrounding countryside & water views in the distance. Enjoyed the family history & the various collectables & old pieces of furniture in use around the home. The kitchen is well equipped with everything we could have needed. And loved our breakfasts at the big dining table as the sun poured in. I would return to this address for a longer stay in a heartbeat.

  • This place was a greatly little get away for our Christmas break. The cottage is artistically styled, and was bright and open. We spent a few days over Christmas there, and it was the perfect, quiet place to sit by the fire. Brigid made us feel very welcome and was very organized!

    Laura2015-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing country setting with views across to the water. Lovely property with relaxed, comfortable feel. Well equipped kitchen, wonderful upstairs bedroom with comfortable bed & great views. Everything was spot on!

    Mary2018-06-23T00:00:00Z
  • Charming rustic old house set in a rural location. Great access to port Arthur area and east cost. House is full of books and old furniture but has a relatively modern kitchen. Few spiders about but that's to be expected in the country. Front entry and garden was a little overgrown but views east to the coast more than made up for this. (Note: At the time of our stay the roof deck was not accessible due to leak.)

    Phil2016-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • Charming, cosy and well equipped. Great location just minutes drive to Marion Bay Beach. Particularly loved the wood fire! Great hosts, would recommend.

    Tessa2019-06-27T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our time at Bream Creek, the house was well equipped and the surrounding scenery beautiful. Loved the antiques, books, and decor. Thanks Brigid we highly recommend to anyone travelling to Tasmania

    Marissa2015-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • A peaceful, clean and warm house with a spectacular country view, the ocean in the distance. The kids and I enjoyed sitting, reading and playing games in the sunny main room. House was very warm with good quality linen on the beds. A brilliant weekend, thank you so much!

  • This place is incredible. The house is beautifully designed: each of the spaces has been carefully thought through so that they're both beautiful and comfortable. The furniture and contents of the house are evidently well curated, but it's not stuffy or ornamental. You feel relaxed the minute you turn up. Chris & Paul are super friendly - they helped us out with local recommendations and were great for a chat over the fence, but at the same time respected our privacy and didn't intrude at all. Most remarkably, you can sit out on the deck and feel like you're in the middle of the countryside, yet you're still close to Hobart with plenty of food options, wineries and pubs in between. 10/10, would love to stay again.

  • A secluded, private and well appointed accomodation set amongst an olive grove and overlooking local undulating rural properties. A perfect spot to unwind, enjoy local produce a short drive away and switch off from the rest of the world, whilst being well provisioned with thoughtful touches. Hobert’s burgeoning restaurant and arts scene is a mere 40 minute drive.

    Steve2017-12-22T00:00:00Z
  • Highly recommend staying here, beautiful countryside, amazingly designed house, nestled in olive trees, delicious food... what more can you ask for!

    Caroline2017-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Had a wonderful stay at Chris & Paul's place. Very stylish open space. The hosts are friendly and easily contactable, helped with sight seeing locations and restaurants to visit. The villa is secluded in the country side offering privacy and great views but still close enough to the CBD.

    Mikey2018-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Great location, easy drive into Hobart, so many wineries and cheese makes nearby also the options where endless. On the way from Hobart, we were able to buy some fresh seafood and make a dream platter while we watched the sunset from the beautiful timber patio over looking the mountains and olive trees. The tips Paul & Chris provided us with where great made the drive to locations just as enjoyable as the final destination. On our last night we light the fire and enjoyed the comforts on this beautiful accommodation. Will be heading back next time wherein Tassy for sure.

It's nice and peaceful and the house itself is lovely and clean - and we loved meeting our host Sharon and catching up with her. Highly recommended!

  • Such a quiet and picturesque town and I was amused by the boats going down the canal - from the lounge room it looks like they're being dragged through people's gardens. Easy to find, the house is conveniently located just a short walk to the general store, historical hotel and the fish and chip shop. I will definitely stay here again.

Relax in secluded comfort in our house on a coastal tidewater. Surrounded by wildlife and in easy reach of a superb beach and Tasmania's finest food and drink, relax on the encircling deck or in the hammocks, birdwatch from the deck, play boules or go cycling, sit around the fire pit at night, barbeque some fine local produce or use as a base for nearby beaches, birdwatching, vineyards or bushwalking, including the Three Capes Track or trips to Port Arthur.
The master bedroom has an ensuite bathroom and queen-sized bed. The other two bedrooms have double beds. Showers in both bathrooms and a bath in the main bathroom. Open plan kitchen and living area with adjoining study. All new furniture. The house is decorated with local artworks.
You can walk to Marion Bay beach and enjoy this magnificent surf beach, often having it all to yourself. The attached nature reserve abounds with wallabies, wombats and bird life. The surrounding area has vineyards, fisheries, dairies, farmers markets, cafes, restaurants and galleries. A food lovers paradise. You can see pelicans, swans, parrots, and even wallabies without even leaving the house. You can sit outside for an hour and not hear a single noise made by a human and yet just up the road excellent food and services are available.
  • His is truely a 5 star accomodation which felt very private. Well appointed home with some very nice home away from home features and touches. Our kids loved their bedrooms and the whole property - they didn't want to leave! Great access to all of the south east coast activities and beaches. We will certainly recommend this home to others.

  • Quiet, serene spot in Marion Bay. Property was immaculate with plenty of amenities. Only a short drive to Sorell town centre. If your planning on heading South East this is were you want to stay. Thanks again Hamish!

  • This is a lovely airbnb the best we have ever encountered. The work Hamish and his daughter have put into the information pack is fantastic. We can highly recommend a stay at Tide House, you won't regret it. The three days we had allowed us to visit Port Arthur and that lovely area. Thank you so much Hamish.

    Ann2016-04-14T00:00:00Z
  • Oh my goodness. What an amazing property to spend some time relaxing at. The views - magnificent. We loved being right near the bay. Watching the bird life and even my husband went 'splodging'. Hilarious for the kids. So close to a beautiful beach which is practically deserted. Hobart a close enough drive to spend the day at (markets etc). You've made us fall in love with Marion Bay with your beautiful home. Thankyou so very much.

    Angela2016-01-17T00:00:00Z
  • Tide House is an absolutely wonderful retreat with stunning views and fine attention to detail that makes you feel so warm and welcome. Marion Bay holds a special place in our hearts and Tide House not only met that but added to why it will be forever one of our favorite places in the world. To Hamish, thank you so very much for just being wonderful!

Dunalley was once a centre for fishing and canning, and had a busy little harbour. There are signs of it still. But now it has numerous oyster farms, sheep farms, an abolone farm, and lots of orchards. It is rural yet attached to the sea. We have a canal and a bridge that opens allowing the fishing and sailing boats through from Blackman Bay into Frederick Henry Bay - a much safer, and shorter way into Hobart. Tho' historically there have been many a shipwrecked vessel at the Narrows, that's the outlet of Blackman's Bay to the Pacific Ocean. Sometimes the swell is so high boats can't risk coming through. We had a catastrophic fire in 2013 which destroyed in total 161 homes. It destroyed the community and the lives of many people. However, if you look closely you will see the amazing survival spirit of the locals - the new school, new community hall and terrific new infrastructure, not to mention the great new homes which have been rebuilt, and the strength that has emerged from the community. Flotsam is one of them.
  • Very stylish and modern, convenient spot for exploring the Tasman region.

    Kristy2018-06-16T00:00:00Z
  • Incredible space. Highly recommended. Thoughtful touches, warm and inviting, stylish and cosy. I absolutely loved our stay here. Yes close to the highway but the outlook of the beach and feel of the place completely outweighs that. We went to Bangor for lunch which was amazing and then had takeaway from the local pub for dinner- both within 1km of Flotsam.

    Lani2019-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing amazing amazing. Exceeded our expectations and then some. Clean, cosy, warm, stylish. It has everything you need and makes you feel like you’ve really had that break. Wished we had longer than one night. We will be back.

  • We enjoyed our stay at Flotsam's Place. It's a beautiful part of the world. The accommodation was brand new, clean and fresh. I'd definitely stay again if in the area. The only issue we had was if you want to use it as a place to relax during the day, as it is next to the highway, it was a bit loud during the day but completely fine at night.

    Christopher2018-01-06T00:00:00Z
  • Easy to book, check-in and leave! The place was as described and can certainly recommend for the traveller!

    Beth2017-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • This place was everything we hoped for! We felt instantly comfortable because things were so clean and thoughtful. We loved being able to walk to the small beach near the property to watch the sun set. Good location if you’re wanting to explore the area around Port Arthur and we loved the wine and oysters up the road.

    Jess2019-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • The place was great, everything you could ask for. There's a highway right next to it but with the lack of car the noise level is very tolerable. All in all, it was great

"This was always the main house on the Farm. Its an 1880s weather board home , that's been renovated and always occupied . Now available for accommodation . This is a working farm that produces wool, beef , lamb & cherries . Magnificent views & walks
Views from the top of the Ragged Tier are very impressive & relatively easy to walk .
Close by are numerous & diverse farms & activities . Vineyards, Dairy, olive grove, cherry orchards, blueberries , grazing , potatoes, distilleries . 10 minutes to Marion Bay. 10 minutes to Wielangta forest & Sand spit reserve . Kellevie is home to the "Hell Fire Cup " & there are kilometres of awesome mountain biking track . Numerous places to eat , 15 to 20 minutes away . We are half way between Hobart & Port Arthur. 40 minutes in each direction . 30 minutes from Hobart Airport .
  • Mark is very helpful and considerate for us,ready to answer all questions we have. The house is cozy and tidy with cherry trees around, highly recommend

    Linda2017-01-21T00:00:00Z
  • It was our great good fortune to arrive during cherry harvest season as Mark had left us a generous bowl of his fine, fine cherries for us upon arrival as well as some of his cherry port wine. This was just a portend of Mark's hospitality as he went way out of his way to make us feel welcome and tend to any needs of ours during our stay there. He also shared the fascinating history of the land and his personal ancestry going back to the mid 1800s. The neighborhood is pure pastoral and quiet as a mouse at night. We slept soundly and deeply, both of us flooded with dreams all night and awaking rested and eager to explore the surrounding countryside. There are vineyards, excellent beaches, abundant wildlife and charming towns all nearby. The birdsong is amazing at the farm!! We saw our first kookaburras with their wild, monkey-like caws. This is a working farm as Mark describes but also a peaceful place of rest and sanctuary. The old family homestead we stayed in still radiates the presence of family life, a happy one as he describes it, that we felt honored to share. The wifi is excellent for those that need to conduct business or stay connected.

    Janet2016-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful albeit short stay. Loved the personal touches of the family. Best linen and doonas!! So private and peaceful! Wished we'd had time to walk to the top of the hill to see the view. Only thing i would recommend is a big arrow next to your sign pointing to the driveway. Thanks Mark , we thought it was lovely!

  • Everything is great!

    Bradley2017-02-01T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful place with a wonderful host. Mark was very friendly and welcoming. We really enjoyed sampling plenty of his cherry port. A walk or drive to the top of the ridge is a must, beautiful views over the bay. The house has everything you need for a comfortable stay including very comfortable beds and plenty of toiletries to choose from. Our only regret is not staying longer. We will definitely return on our next trip to Tasmania. People like Mark make a good Airbnb a great Airbnb!

    Nikki2018-01-13T00:00:00Z
  • Mark was really friendly. The farm and the house is a beautiful place, I highly recommend it. I'll definitely will be visiting again soon. Thanks!

    Juana2019-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • The location of the house is superb, and Mark is a wonderful host. The house is old but well equipped and the sour cherry trees at every window add to its charm. The only regret we had was not booking more nights there. It is close to Hobart, Port Arthur, beaches and walks and an ideal place to have a rest from it all. Highly recommended.

The Shack is a new build at the beachside community of Connellys Marsh. If you like a quiet get away which is close to attractions (Tasman Peninsular, loads of beaches, hikes, local eateries selling freshest of oysters, wineries) then this is the place for you. You’ll love our place because of the views the location and it is RELAXING. Our place is good for couples, small groups for long weekend get aways and families (with kids). 40 mins from Hobart & 30 mins from the Hobart Airport.
The Shack is an open plan light-filled space with two living areas, kitchen and dining that opens up to a deck over looking the bay. The space is large and great for entertaining and relaxing. The kitchen is fully equipped with an induction cook top, wall oven and loads of storage. TV and DVD player as well. A wood heater keeps the place warm on cool evenings when the sun goes down. The wrap around deck allows you to follow the sun and the bbq area at the back of the house is nearly always sunny. Two double bedrooms, two bathrooms (one with laundry), one bedroom has a single bed and bunk beds and the fourth bedroom has two single beds.
Quiet beach area so your place is the perfect space to get away from it all. There are no shops at Connellys Marsh and you will often have the beach to yourself; with the exception of Summer time and long weekends, but even then, its very quiet. The beach is shallow and at low tide the pools of water get very warm - get for kids or big kids who want to float about on a lil. You can play sand cricket and the kids will love to try and catch the soldier crabs on the beach.
  • Pristine, quiet and secluded area with fantastic views of the bay. Perfect spot for a relaxing getaway with good fishing spots nearby. Plan your next holiday at 'the shack' for sure!

    Ross2017-11-23T00:00:00Z
  • Looking for a beach get away with kids? This is it. A roomy beach house with all mod cons and plenty of room for two families. Walking distance to the beach, which is ideal and kid-friendly. Christie was a wonderful host. Communication was clear and warm. We look forward to visiting again soon.

    Romany2017-04-17T00:00:00Z
  • What a gem!this is a five star "shack"most magnificent setting. Stroll to the beach 2 minutes away, great for the kids crystal clear waters and more or less a private beach for those lucky enough to live in this beautiful place of the world. The shack has everything that you need, spotlessly clean, modern and no stress stay. Great space for kids and feels like home away from home. Great dinner at the Bangor Wine and Oyster shed highly recommend the oysters and lamb pie. If your looking for stunning views, peace and quite a short distance from Hobart this is the place to stay highly recommended.

    Jane2017-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Christie is a wonderful host. She made us feel very welcomed and communication with her was impeccable. The shack is in the most gorgeous location and is decked out with everything we needed. We could have easily stayed here longer if we could have. We could hear the sea at night and were lucky to have gorgeous weather whilst we were there. Totally recommend the shack. Great place to stay. Thanks again.

    Annaki2016-12-23T00:00:00Z
  • Connelly’s Marsh is one of Tasmania’s hidden gems. A sheltered bay that is perfect for young kids and spectacular sunsets. Christie’s place is great for a family or couple stay. It’s warm, clean and well equipped. My family enjoyed a very special Easter. Would definitely stay again!

    Tina2019-04-22T00:00:00Z
  • The Shack at Connellys Marsh is the ultimate place to relax and unwind with tranquil surrounds. The beach is close and great for that family game of cricket at sunset. Overall, The Shack is a wonderful home for families with everything you could possibly need. Thanks once again Christie for your excellent pre-arrival details.

    Mary-Lou2018-12-28T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay at the Shack. The location was central to the Tasmania's east coast, a short stroll to the beach and fantastic view. The shack had great amenities including all cooking appliances and the breakfast items were a great touch.

    Basia2019-01-08T00:00:00Z
  • Christie's Air BnB house at Connelly's Marsh was fantastic. We really enjoyed this house and felt immediately comfortable upon arrival. There was plenty of space for us as a group of 3 and the house could easily hold another family, especially with 2 bathrooms. The kitchen was very functional and there was not one thing more we could have wanted as Christie's house supplied everything. I would highly recommend this house to future Air BnB guests who are looking for a home away from away in the natural and unique setting of Connelly's Marsh. Dodges Ferry, Sorell, Richmond are all only a short drive from 'The Shack'. Well done and thank you Christie

Proximity to wild beaches whilst set in a tranquil coastal rural location
Great eclectic artistic community who appreciate the little things in life and where we live!
  • Joan was an exceptional AirBnB host! Her space so tranquil, and decorated so beautifully! The bed was so comfortable and we appreciated the little extra things provided such as the bread, eggs, food in the cupboard and toiletries. Her informative emails helped us find somewhere for dinner and make sure we were well looked after. An easy drive from Port Arthur, was lovely to visit Bream Creek and see the beach. Would 110% recommend staying with Joan for a peaceful retreat to recharge the soul!

  • Super Super Super Super!! Arrived to a fragrant garden rose on the counter! Only wish I could have stayed all day to enjoy the scenery the puppy and the Vineyard accross the road. Lovely hosts too! Very helpful and fresh farm eggs, bread, homegrown tomatos and homemade mulberry jam for breakfast!!

  • After two nights by myself elsewhere in a house it was lovely to share time in a home filled with loved items. The elevated position was beautiful with views across the tops of the trees to the water. Your downstairs area is totally self contained and is filled with books and magazines that will keep you happy for days. There are no window treatments or blinds so the light will flood room early. There is a room divider that you can place at the end of the bed for privacy and to curb the light in the morning. Thoughtful supplies were provided to make a breakfast of toast and fresh eggs from the hens. No car noise just the sound of birds. Perfect retreat and place to just be you.

  • Joan and Sally are fantastic hosts. It was great to meet them and stay in such a cozy, home-like environment, close to one of the most beautiful beaches I've ever been to. Hope to see you again!

  • we got the warmest welcome from joan and sally, and their furry housemates, billy and minnie. we felt at home the moment we arrived. the space is quite luxurious and thoughtfully laid out with lots of attention to detail, such as the gorgeous flowers on the table, and the fresh hen eggs in a basket. everything was clean and ever so comfortable. the view from the house is amazing, and the setting is truly tranquil. there are gorgeous, unspoiled beaches nearby, friendly cafes and lovely places to go wine tasting. just ask joan and sally, their advice on places to go and things to do were spot on! thank you so much for such a fabulous stay!

  • Joan was kind and welcoming. She has a wonderful studio in a beautiful spot in Tasmania. The studio had everything you could possibly ask for. There was a lot of thought to making us feel comfortable. Thank you for the breakfast also! Superb!
