Our quirky little home is cozy and sweet and the guest bedroom is bright and country cozy. We live near Virginia Commonwealth University, Carytown, and a block to Byrd Park and Maymont Estate. There are city bikes to rent up the street, and hiking trails all over the city. We have a large dog, named Churro, who is mostly mellow in the house. Sometimes he gets the zoomies and likes to run around, but most if the time he just lays on the floor. He gets a little nosey when he first meets people.
Our home is a 2-story row house, built in the 1920's. We have a tiny kitchen and a washer a dryer that we invite our guests to use. The house is old, and most of the walls (which are all pretty thin- so we can hear everything) and doors are original, so they have character. We also have a charming, old clawfoot tub, that we're sure is the original. The room is bright and it’s what we would call country cozy. The bedrooms are upstairs on the second floor, ours is on the left and the guest room is on the right. We have a narrow hall that both of the bedrooms are off of, and the rooms are directly across from each other. Note: The bed in the guest room is quite firm. We bought it for back support and because we both enjoy a firmer mattress. We also know that not everyone enjoys firm mattresses the same way, so please be mindful of this when you book. Byrd Park is across the street, and Maymont Estate is 2 blocks away, so if you enjoy walking, biking, running or picnicking in the park, we have a perfect location. You can quickly get to Carytown (6 mins or less by car, 12 mins or less by bike) and VCU Main Campus-Monroe Park Campus (5 mins by car, 10 mins by bike), VCU MCV Medical Campus (12 mins by car, 30 mins by bike, 1 hour by bus). Lastly, we MUST be sure that you're comfortable with big dogs. Churro is a 75 pound, mixed breed dog. We think he is a pointer, pit mix, who is about 6 years old. He mostly just lays on the floor and watches everything that’s happening around him, or he sleeps... But, if he thinks there is a chance of playing, he gets huge bursts of energy and zips around the room. He’s funny and usually pretty cute when this happens. Brendan and I rescued Churro in the spring of 2018 while we were living in Tucson. We’ve done a lot of training with him and he has come a long way. We ask that you please check in with yourself before booking, we want you to feel comfortable in our home. Please reach out with any questions.
We have great access to the park system, we are close to Carytown, VCU, and downtown.

Beautiful historic house in the Fan. Despite being a quiet residential area, the Fan is walking distance to some of the best restaurants in the city. Eat breakfast on our beautiful terrace shaded by a 150 year old tree. Visit the museum or the movies without the car!
I am a musician and have salon concerts given by the best classical and acoustic musicians in the city.
Our neighborhood is amazing! We have concerts in a small secret garden a block away from our house. You can get a glass of the best prosecco and tapas around the corner and visit our museum up the street. Carytown is minutes away on foot with local artisan stores, turn of the century cinema and amazing restaurants, bars and cafes.

Hi, my house is a walk to the Art Museum, to Carytown, to lots of good eateries, bars and to the Fan. A block from the bus stop for Downtown, and a short Uber to the breweries. You'll have a private bedroom, shared bathroom, shared kitchen and shared living room. I welcome you to my house and to my neighborhood.
My house is on the first floor of a two bedroom apartment, with a separate entrance. The bathroom, living room and kitchen may be shared between two of us.
It's one of the Richmond's best neighborhoods. I love staying here. I sometimes go for a walk, for dinner to my favorite places on the block, for a drink right across, or there is a really cute restaurant right next to me. There is also a 711 and a local convenient store on the same block. The Scott's Addition breweries are a quick Uber or about a 15 minute walk away. I really love the beer scene in Richmond. The river is about a 15 minute run away.

Welcome! I spent almost all of 2016 renovating this charming little bungalow and now that's finished I'm excited to share it with others. My home is within walking distance to Carytown, shopping, restaurants, grocery stores, bus lines, the Kicker's Stadium, Byrd Park and quick, easy access to multiple freeways. It's in a quiet, community focused neighborhood yet close to everything.
Your bedroom and private bathroom (en suite) is part of an addition that was built on the back of the house in 1952. It used to have a private 1/2 bath which I converted into a full bath (walk-in shower) last year. It's off the laundry/mudroom with access to the backyard. Because it's part of the addition, the bedroom is extremely private and completely separate from the other two bedrooms, office and hall bathroom in the main part of the house.
I live in a quiet neighborhood called City Stadium, so named for the Richmond Kickers soccer stadium right across the street from my house. It's an open air field with partial views of the playing field from my front porch which provides spectacular sunsets on most nights. You can find the Kickers 2017 home schedule on the Richmond Kickers website. Their season starts late March and goes through the end of September. Because they only have 2-3 games per month (typically on Saturday evenings) there's very little disruption, traffic and noise in the neighborhood. Also, street parking is not allowed for game attendees so there is always plenty of street parking whether there is a game or not. If you are staying here during one of their home games, I encourage you to go to the game. It's always a fun time!

This carriage house is detached from the main house and is located right in the heart of Carytown! Enjoy being in walking distance to restaurants, shopping, grocery stores, and $3 movies! Kitchen, dining, laundry, and additional bathrooms are located in the main house for you to use during your stay!
My friends call the place a FROG... Family Room Above the Garage. However, I was told it was called a Carriage House. The Carriage house is private, has it's own access and is open to the garage below. There is a queen size bedroom set, Flat screen TV with DVD player, Wi-Fi, 1/2 bath (toilet/sink), Microwave, Keurig, blow dryer, plenty of closet space, and a table with 2 chairs, wine/beer bottle opener, plates and silverware. Please note the shower is located in the main house and not the carriage house.
The neighborhood is in walking distance to 4 grocery stores, plenty of shops, restaurants, and the Byrd theater.

Perfectly located, recently renovated modern studio in basement of historic home in Richmond's Fan District. Easy walking distance to many great restaurants and shops, Carytown, the VMFA and the rest of the Museum District, VCU, Byrd Park, and more.
Come enjoy this cool, cozy resting spot in the heart of the Fan with a functional kitchenette and new comfortable queen latex foam bed. Location, location, location! The suite is directly below our kitchen, and you will likely occasionally hear us and our toddler, particularly around breakfast and dinner times (and during lunch on the weekends). We strive to be as quiet as possible when we are above your space and not to use it between the hours of 10pm - 7:30am. There is also a white noise machine in the studio that you are welcome to use. With that being said, the space may not be an ideal option if you like to sleep in late and/or are sensitive to noise. There is insulation between the levels, but there is still some noise transfer.
We are located in the middle of Richmond's very popular historic Fan District. We are within walking distance of a few dozen different restaurants, bars, and coffee shops. The Virginia Museum of Fine Art is only a 1/2 mile from us, as is Carytown, a street of unique shops, boutiques, and restaurants. We are also less than a mile from Byrd Park - a beautiful large green space that includes two lakes. Byrd Park is next to Maymont Park, which includes beautiful botanical gardens. About 1 mile away--an easy bike ride, longer walk, or 5-minute drive--is Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU).

To book the entire house, please visit: https://abnb.me/a55NABi9cT **All single guest rooms are available from Sunday 3pm - Friday 12 noon. Weekends are reserved for full-house rentals. Arrangements can be made for guest-storage over weekends for guests who wish to return for the following business week. ***CATS LIVE HERE - PLEASE DO NOT BOOK IF THAT IS A PROBLEM! This bedroom is the third of four, roomy enough to be comfortable in for as long as you may have business or pleasure interests in Richmond. Access to the rest of the house (Laundry, Living room, Dining room, Den, Kitchen, 3 Porches, 1.5 Bathrooms) is free and unlimited, as is all local street parking. Kensington Manor exemplifies Richmond's rich cultural history along with the Fan's sense of artistry, style, entertainment and individuality. The house was built in 1909 and is constantly being updated, wired with every modern luxury and convenience available. Our location is supremely convenient to Virginia Commonwealth University/The Fan, Scott’s Addition, Carytown, the Museum District, Downtown, the West End, Byrd Park, the University of Richmond, Virginia Union University and every other location of interest in town. Everything listed above is as close as a 5-20 minute walk or a 3-10 minute drive. I live here with my two friendly cats in our 2-story city house in the best part of Richmond's best neighborhood, The Fan District. There are simply unlimited opportunities to enjoy the best business, dining, shopping, entertainment, sports, historical, natural and educational experiences that the central east coast has to offer here - and they're all ridiculously easy to get to. Comfort and convenience combined with the best aspects of community living and urban excitement are all yours when you stay here, at a fair and competitive price.
If you enjoy the best things that any proper city should have on offer, you're going to find them all conveniently located here in the Fan and its neighboring areas. The neighborhood enjoys a generally quiet and peaceful noise level, but is quite tolerant of the soundtrack inherent to being the heart of Richmond’s nightlife, hospitality and entertainment scenes. Entertaining and private dinners in the house are allowed and encouraged for any possible business/personal needs. On the reverse side of that, Kensington Manor’s sturdy brick walls and modern, air-tight windows and doors are more than sufficient at filtering out the noise created by other people’s good times. Our HVAC systems, fans, humidifiers and air purifiers provide enough white noise to cover everything else. While we do reside in a typically exciting urban setting, this particular part of the neighborhood is outstandingly safe and pleasant based on my near-30 years of experience living here. If you need to be at VCU, Scott’s Addition, Carytown, Museum District, VUU, Downtown, UofR or the West End in Richmond: THIS IS YOUR PLACE TO STAY! Big guest room in a large, comfortable, stylish Fan District home in the most ridiculously convenient location available in this city. 1-2 guests can sleep comfortably, in your own private room with access to every luxurious amenity in the rest of this house. Any destination in Richmond is just minutes away and all local street parking is free.
*PLEASE NOTE THAT PRICING ON THIS PAGE IS FOR ONE GUEST BEDROOM (2 GUESTS MAXIMUM OCCUPANCY/ROOM/NIGHT)! This bedroom is the second of four, roomy enough to be comfortable in for as long as you may have business or pleasure interests in Richmond.
