The flat is a traditional Edinburgh flat located in the heart of the desirable Stockbridge area. It is a beautiful, local area located about 15-20 minutes walk from the city centre. The area is very safe and friendly, and has a strong community spirit. There are also many great bars, cafes and restaurants located 2 minutes walk from the flat.
There are 4 rooms in the flat in total- the other 2 will be on airbnb and thats including the room being advertised here. I also live in the property.
My favourite cafe is the Pantry, my favourite bar is Hector's Bar, and my favourite restaurant is called The Scran and Scallie
  • Excellent value!

  • Jack's place is located very well, close to the Botanic Gardens and in a nice area with cafes and restaurants. The room itself was also lovely and it was nice to be able to make breakfast in the kitchen. Check-in went smoothly and communication was also good.

  • The place is easy to find. About 15 to 20 min walk from city center. The check in process was smooth. Jack was very. Ocal and helpful in all aspects. The place itself was neat and tidy and safe. We had a wonderful stay here.

  • You will find a very quite room (they are three rooms in total) and share the bathroom and the kitchen. It's all very clean and confortable, and there are other nice guys ;-)) I recommend Jack's recommendation of Hectors Pub, there it's delicious and cosy. Be aware that the busses do not run often in the morning (between 7-8 a.m. 2 times) and I did not find the right nightbus.. but the center is in walking distance (I guess 20 minutes) - uphill into town, downhill to Stockbridge, "Raeburn Place". By the way, the bus drivers (of line 42 and 29) do not know that the bus stop is called like that.

  • Jack is a very friendly, welcoming and chill host :) We really liked the neighborhood, not a lot of tourists around :) the bed is very comfortable and we would come back for sure. Best wishes!

  • Jack's place is located around 15-20 mins of walking from the city center, or 5 mins by bus. There are lots of good restaurants, café and supermarkets around his place. I did not meet Jack but I had no difficulty in checking in and having information about the area as he contacted me days before my check-in time to send me instructions. He was hospitable and responsive. The room was clean, stylish and warm. The bathroom was clean and well-equipped.

    Minh2019-07-20T00:00:00Z
  • Jack’s place is close to a lot of cool stuff and he keeps it clean. I appreciated that he had some breakfast food he opens up to guests.

Twin room in Victorian house with beautiful views overlooking the Botanical gardens and Inverleith park. Only a 10 minute bus 20 min walk into central town but close to busy Stockbridge. Off street Parking.
The house is situated in one of the most wonderful parts of Edinburgh. It shares a wall with the Royal Botanical Gardens and has a lovely surrounding garden, yet only a 10 minute bus ride or 20 min walk into town. The room has twin beds and ample storage space.
  • Sandra and Scott are extremely nice, friendly and helpful! Their place is gorgeous - located in the Botanic Gardens, quiet, beautiful house! Our experience was the best and we would definitely go back. Highly recommend it!

    Mihaela2017-05-07T00:00:00Z
  • Staying at Sandra & Scott's place is more than we could possibly ask for! They are very welcoming, caring, and making us feel at home. Scott picked us up and drove us to Arthur's Seat, Sandra told us how to get buses the first night we were there; they are very helpful! The house itself is very beautiful and the room's clean and cosy. It's really close to the Royal Botanic Garden and it takes about 30 minutes walk to/from city center. We really enjoyed our stay there. Highly recommended.

    Jessica2014-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • A very convenient location near the city and lovely hosts!

    Helen2018-06-16T00:00:00Z
  • A friend and I stayed in Scott and Sandra's home in Edinburgh during Fringe Festival. They have a beautiful home and everything was just as described. Scott provided breakfast for us each morning and gave us plenty of recommendations for where to go during fringe. They were very accommodating and friendly. They even worked with us when we arrived earlier than expected. I recommend their home to anyone looking to stay in Edinburgh.

    Geoff2017-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • I don't want to sound hyperbolic but 5 stars does not do Sandra and Scott justice. I could tell you about the super cute house right next to the botanical gardens, or the stand out exceptional hosts, or all the little things that were done to make our stay amazing, but I recommend you do yourself a favor and stay here yourself and see just what you are missing out on. Hands down the most wonderful hosts and the best airbnb experience I have ever had.

    Josh2017-07-10T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay. The house was clean and comfy. Scott and Sandra were perfect hosts. They made us feel very welcome, gave us tips and info for getting into Edinburgh. Sandra also made us hot croissants each morning. This was a lovely touch. We will definitely be looking to book again if we return to Edinburgh.

    Carly2018-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • My daughter and I were made to feel at home straight away. Spacious , clean accommodation with parking and easy bus ride direct into city centre.

    Stephen2018-06-09T00:00:00Z
  • This home is over 100 years old and has been extremely well kept. It is directly next door to the Botanical gardens and the tour bus stops right there! It was difficult to leave Sandra's company, as she is an extremely engaging and delightful woman. She was totally accommodating when I arrived home after a bad fall and she wrapped my foot and offered medicinal wine! Our breakfast was fresh and personalized. I would rate this as one of my top B&B experiences.

Only 15 minute walk from the city centre and Waverley Station, the district offers beautiful green scenery such as Inverleith Park, Botanic Garden and Water of Leith. The flat is easily available by public transport, with great connections to other parts of Edinburgh. The room is cozy and includes basic essentials for the guests

  • Very nice place, quiet and clean.

    Bill2019-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice room, super clean, much better than expected. Just one tip for guests: don't leave anything in the common areas, as I had my bath sponge stolen on the first day. No locks in the rooms, but the privacy in the rooms is respected and nobody gets in. I would certainly stay here again, if I happen to come back to Edinburgh.

Single room available in leafy, residential Trinity, close to Botanic Gardens and 15 mins by bus to centre (2km). A 1960s building, with sunny living room and balcony. Exceptionally quiet. 5 mins from bus-stop to centre, and to local grocery shops & takeaway options. Adjacent to a cycle network that extends to all parts of the city, and beyond. I don’t live in the flat. I live about 5 mins away. The flat has two other bedrooms: one is occupied on a long-term basis, the other on Airbnb.
The room has been freshly decorated. It is small, but very comfortable. There is a unisex bike available to use, which is stored in a garage above 5 mins away. You can use the bike anytime you wish during your stay; it comes with a lock (but not a cycling helmet).
Our flat is situated in a residential area called Trinity in the north of the city. We have two public parks nearby and the city's Botanical Gardens. A small river that runs closeby stretches for 15 miles though the centre of Edinburgh with scenic paths all along its waterside. The River Forth is also a 10 minutes walk to the north. Leith, a rejuvenated dockside area with a good mix of independent shops, bars and restaurants, is 15 minutes walk to the east. Nearer to home there are some good local shops (grocer, fishmonger, newsagent, take away, cafés). There is an excellent bus service a few minutes from our house which takes you into the city in ten minutes. Edinburgh is a fairly compact city so most sights/things of interest are within easy reach (e. g. Princes Street, the New Town, the Old Town, galleries and the Castle) . Waverley Train Station is 15 minutes away by bus and the airport is 7 miles outside of town. It is also an incredibly beautiful city with a diverse range of attractions, including many cultural and historical sights, a wealth of galleries and museums and a good range of restaurants, bars and clubs. From Edinburgh we are well situated to travel by rail or bus to Glasgow (45 mins) , Loch Lomond and St Andrews (90 minutes) and the Highlands and Islands (2 – 4 hours) . The Edinburgh International Festival takes place in the last 3 weeks of August. Around the same time as the official festival, there is the much larger and diverse Fringe Festival, as well as three other major festivals: Television, Science and Book.
  • Daljit was a great host; incredibly responsive and helpful while providing a clean, well-maintained space. The flat is super quiet and in a great location, walkable to the water, botanic garden, and even city center (if you’re up for it). Highly recommended little spot.

    Jay2018-08-01T00:00:00Z
  • Daljit’s place is 10/10, would love to stay again in future. Everything was neat and sparkling clean and best of all unfussy but totally comfortable. Wish I had more time to enjoy the cute backyard too. Couldn’t have asked for a better place!

    Carly2018-10-05T00:00:00Z
  • It was wonderful to stay at Daljit's. He was very forthcoming with information and replied super quickly! I came after 9 pm to the flat but thankfully he has a keysafe box from which I could retain my keys. That was very handy! The room was clean, nice and most importantly it was quiet. At daytime it was easy to get to the centre by taking the bus. The way to the bus station was quite short. I would stay here again and also recommend it to anyone looking for a nice, relaxing place to rest after a day of exploring.

    Patricia2018-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • Daljit was a Great Host! I have enjoyed my stay at his place!

    Natalie2019-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed in Daljits single room from the beginning of January till April (more or less 13 weeks). Right from the beginning everything was very good organized. A few days before I arrived in Edinburgh I received a good structured written guide which includes a lot of information about public transportation, the flat and its members and good places for grocery shopping which are close to the flat. The day I arrived I met Daljit and he directly gave me his mobile number so I could call him whenever I had an issue or something was wrong. So there was a nice and kind relationship between me and him. Whenever I had some additional requests he reacted immediately. I enjoyed my trip very well. The flat has a very good connection to all the different places in Edinburgh via bus and bicycle. There exist more than three different bus stops which are easy to reach within a 5 minute walk. The frequency of busses is well so in case you miss one you won't have to wait long for the next. For grocery shopping you have a Lidl next to your flat which you can reach easily by bus. Doesn’t matter if you want to go to the City Centre, the beach, Leith or the north west of Edinburgh (where my workplace was) there exist plenty of busses. Because of the season I didn’t choose to go to work by bicycle. But there exist some nice paths for cycling in hole Edinburgh. So it is a nice gift that the flat includes some free bikes. Finally it was a pleasure for me to stay in Daljit’s accommodation and to be honest I really can recommend his flat.

    Ramon2019-04-07T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was above the expectations. Daljit is really nice person and he cares about his guest and his place. Highly recommended - quiet place.

    Paweł2018-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • This host goes above and beyond to make your stay worth its time. I enjoyed using one of the bicycles provided on the nature trails and getting to and from close-by locations. Just a note to travelers from the US, this location is great but WiFi in the area is not the best. Highly recommend checking with pricing to commute to the sites from this location. This place does rent out other rooms but everyone was very kind and cordial. On another note, It was very genuine of this host to ask me if I was comfortable and to see if I got into the apartment with no trouble. For that alone I give 5 stars.

Double room with comfy bed in 2-bedroom quite apartment near city centre. The place is situated in a lovely Inverleith area, right next to the lovely Botanic Gardens. There is a bus stop close by 5 minutes walk. 10 minutes away from North Bridge and Princess Street with its magical Edinburgh Castle and 15 minutes away from Arthur Seat! Full access to the kitchen! Wifi is of course included :)
Please note that the two listings under my name are in the same flat. I have two guests rooms and one single bedroom where the property caretaker stays, which means that most of the time he is on site to help you with anything during your stay and answer your questions. The flat is very specious and has a back garden for your use, a balcony with Castle view and a bedroom with Firth of Forth view. As well is a livingroom with a TV you can use 24h and a nice kitchen accessable at all times as well. Parking spaces available just outside the building for free(you can see the car from balcony) so if you travelling by car it's not a problem. Clean linen and towels provided throughout the stay. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travellers, and families (with kids).
The flat is situated in a residential area called Inverleith. It is very nice, quite and rather leisurely. It is also very safe. Opposite the street, there is a lovely park where people take their dogs out, run or simply go out for a walk. Although, the area itself is quite, the flat is very near the city centre where you can enjoy all sorts of attractions
  • Small top floor apartment (stairs!). Good value for money for a one night stay.

  • Nice decorated room, good location

    Charlotte2019-03-26T00:00:00Z
  • This was by far my worst airbnb experience. The apartment is very dirty and everything was the lowest quality. For example, during check in the host bumped in to the hallway table and the drawer font fell off. He propped it back up when he thought we weren't looking. The linens and towels are yellowish, there is grime coating all surfaces and fixtures, and the walls are cracked and smeared with gross putty. Wallpaper peeling, uncomfortable cheap furniture, a fist hole in the bedroom door... you get the picture. We were very uncomfortable here and left as quickly as possible. You will be able to find a less expensive and far cleaner & better quality hostel for your stay in Edinburgh.

    Allison2017-06-25T00:00:00Z
  • Lucas picked us up from the airport. We would definitely recommend this as it just makes everything that much easier. Because he picked us up, we were able to check in and have everything explained to us and we were also able to check in a little bit earlier. Lucas was very friendly and helpful. The apartment is clean and has the amenities as well as laundry which was helpful. It's quite easy to get to and from the city centre by bus.

    Michelle2017-07-01T00:00:00Z
  • A good stay. Decent walk from the city center in a more suburban part of Edinburgh. It is quite basic and the bed isn’t the most comfortable. It is very affordable though, so overall a good value. Would recommend if you can’t find something more in town.

    Zachary2019-07-31T00:00:00Z
  • Nice, bright room with a cute shared bathroom. 40min walk or 15min bus ride to the city centre. Comfortable and bright.

    Chloé2019-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful home in a lovely part of the city. Well worth a visit. Local amenities are varied, but there are some real gems worth looking for. The busses are frequent and its only a short trip into the centre of town. This flat is particularly well located for the Botanic Gardens which are a must at any time of the year. Ashley is a great host. Will use again.

    David2017-09-13T00:00:00Z
  • Ashley is a great host. Responds fast when needed. The place and location are very nice and everything was clean. Definetly a recommendation from our end!

  • My son and I spent two weeks in this absolutely charming flat while visiting Edinburgh to attend the International Book Festival and the Fringe Festival. The flat is located in the historic Stockbridge Colonies, a quiet enclave just a 20 minute walk from the city center. It is very well appointed, tastefully decorated and exceeded our expectations on every level. This was our third festival season in Edinburgh and it was wonderful having such a scenic, warm, and welcoming community to retire to every evening. The Water of Leith walkway, Stockbridge Sunday Market, Glenogle Victorian swimming pool and shops and cafes along Raeburn Place are all just a few steps away. We will certainly book again when we return. Thank you Ashley, we could not have had a more perfect stay.

Comfortable, bright, spacious room and private bathroom in characterful home in elegant Georgian Square. Situated in vibrant Stockbridge, one of Edinburgh's most popular neighbourhoods, full of independent shops, bars & cafes, just 15 minutes walk from City Centre. Stockbridge was listed as top spot in Scotland in the Sunday Times 2016 " Best Places to Live" guide.
There is the possibility of a second double bedroom for extra members of the same group - family or friends. Enquire for price.
Located in quiet residential crescent with no through traffic, next to public indoor swimming pool and fitness centre and close to the Royal Botanical Gardens and public park.
  • definitely recommend! The room is quite big, the bed is very comfortable and the fruit bowl was a cute little touch. Jer was very friendly and gave some pointers. He even turned on the heater for me mid summer!

    Belinda2019-07-21T00:00:00Z
  • Jer's place is great. It was spotless, comfy, warm and located pretty close to the city centre. The room had cereal bars, fruit and flowers - which gave it that special touch. Jer was so accommodating, providing us with some advice on places to visit and those places not to bother with in Edinburgh. We stayed over the New Year period and he gave us some good advice about the Hogmanay event. I highly recommend this place and will definitely stay here again if I return to the city.

  • Jer's place is amazing and it was my favorite Airbnb experience that I have had so far. He was very accommodating and welcoming. He generously provided a nice continental breakfast and snacks. It was much appreciated. The room is really comfortable and the mattress was as well. It is a good size room and there is a tv and desk as well as a nice seating area. I loved the neighborhood with its various stores, cafes and pubs. It is a nice area to stay in while visiting Edinbugh which is one of the most beautiful cities I ever been to.

Beautiful studio apartment in a central location within walking distance of shops and main attractions. A bright and trendy ground floor apartment on a leafy residential street, with front door entry. The living area is spacious and furnished to a very high standard. Double bed with luxurious mattress and bed linen. Fully fitted kitchen and shower room. This apartment is the perfect base for a holiday or business trip to the wonderful city of Edinburgh.
This beautiful studio apartment forms part of the Edinburgh Stockbridge Colonies
The apartment is situated in a neighbourhood called the Stockbridge colonies, which were built during the second half of the nineteenth century. The colonies are friendly and beautiful and Stockbridge itself is vibrant and trendy, and within a short walk of Princes Street and the main attractions. My studio apartment was originally the grocery shop for the colonies and was converted into a residential property in the 1980s. It has a beautiful situation and is in the perfect location to explore Edinburgh.
  • Bright, spacious, warm and comfortable studio. Even better than it looks in the pictures and in a great location. Clear and simple instructions were provided, and everything was just as it should be 👍🏻 Simon was a great host and communicated very quickly with us. Check out the cupboards before you go shopping, you may find that what you need is already there - how thoughtful 😊

    Adam2019-04-03T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay at Simon's place. It was sparking clean and in a fantastic location. Really close to a main street with plenty of eateries (and great charity shops), also close to the Waters of Leith walkway. The place was very peaceful and there was no street noise overnight. Very easily walkable into the city centre. I hope we'll be back!

    Sarah2019-07-26T00:00:00Z
  • Simon’s place is perfectly located for a walk to either the center or Calton Hill. The place was beautiful and near lots of restaurants and shops just a few minutes away. There is local buses on the Main Street that will have you at the center in less than 10 mins.

  • We loved our stay! Stockbridge is a beautiful area and the apartment was a perfect retreat from the city center. Simon left a book with local recommendations and we visited a few restaurants in the area! We loved every bit of our stay and hope to return some time in the future.

2 bedrooms - sleeps 4. Free high speed WiFi. Stockbridge is a fashionable and affluent area of the city centre. 15 quality restaurants, 10 pubs and many cafes all within a 5 minute walk. Very central however the apartment is in a VERY quiet street (not even traffic passes by). Although compact the apartment has bags of charm and a lovely comfortable living area. Private secure parking is FREE. Comparable on street parking costs approx £25 per day, (if you can find a space!).
The apartment can sleep 4 and has 2 bedrooms. One bedroom is a double and the other a twin room. The twin room can be made up as a double if requested. It is a compact apartment on the garden level (down 15 steps). The location is very central to the city centre, yet exceptionally quiet, as not even traffic passes the building. The apartment has a cosy open living, dining and kitchen area.
Stockbridge is deemed the 3rd coolest place to live in the UK by the Sunday Times!!. The same publication also deemed it the best place to live in the whole of Scotland!!. It is in the heart of Edinburgh but feels like a friendly village. There are around 15 restaurants, 9 pubs and many cafes and boutiques within a 5 minutes walk. As it is an affluent area the pubs and restaurants are of a good standard. Tom Kitchins gastro pub 'The Scran And Scallie' is one of those in the locale.
  • Gary was very friendly! Very nice apartment to stay at!

    Lotte2016-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent space and location for the money spent.

    Matthew2019-09-06T00:00:00Z
  • Loved this little flat. Perfectly situated in Stockbridge, the flat has easy access to restaurants, pubs, a weekly outdoor market and tons of little shops. It's also a 10-15 minute walk to Princes Street. Gary's flat is bright and clean with everything that you could possibly need for cooking. He had milk and bread waiting for us and some beautiful lilies. We would definitely stay here again! Thanks Gary.

    Ashley2014-05-24T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment is adorable and has a cute little outdoor space to sit. We had the amenities that we needed and it was quiet. The location is a bit far from the (1.3 miles) from the city centre and the Royal Mile. Not a big deal for those who like to explore on foot. Very close to the Water of Leith trail which was beautiful. Overall, we loved the flat and highly recommend it.

    Heather2019-07-08T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent place to stay at when you’re visiting Edinburgh. Would stay here again the next time I visit Edinburgh!

    Kimberley2019-09-14T00:00:00Z
  • Located in Stockbridge a lovely area with a short walk to the canals and botanic gardens, lovely restaurants and bars located in the area. £5 in a taxi to princess street. For the price and convenience you won't get much better.

    Ross2017-07-15T00:00:00Z
  • Nice property in a great location - close to all the Stockbridge amenities but very quiet. Gary was very helpful and responsive

  • A great stay. A lovely apartment in a quiet and stunning location. Small but perfectly formed. Big enough for our family of 4 adults. All communication good and will return. An ideal location for walking into Fringe events.....although always uphill!! Thanks Gary

Lovely characterful flat filled with art with beautiful garden.
Very close to Edinburgh's Royal Botanic gardens, lots of bus routes and a selection of local shops, some open late. A variety of bars and restaurants and a Tesco nearby too.
  • Lovely welcome from Mhairi and her gorgeous pooch; I felt very much at home here. Very comfortable room, which was nice and quiet too. I would definitely stay here again when I'm next in Edinburgh.

    Clare2018-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • Tucked away down by the Botanic gardens with a stunning conservatory, obedient dog and Mhairi's welcome was was great. I loved that I opened my curtains and saw a blue clematis and cats sitting in the sun up above me. Photos do not do the place justice.

    Catharine2018-05-09T00:00:00Z
  • Maori has the most beautiful and comfortable flat with a beautiful glass house dining and a garden. She has fabulous decor and Hector is very lovable. It’s centrally located and she’s a wealth of knowledge.

    Gina2018-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • Great stay again!! I can recommend to everyone!!

    Anna2016-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • Mhairi was reassuringly relaxed and keen to make me feel welcome. I was only stopping a night and still I felt I came away having made new friends. The room is lovely. Very private with a spacious en suite. Everything one could need or want in a brief visit to Edinburgh. The bed was very comfortable. I slept well and I enjoyed nice conversation at Breakfast. Mhairi's place is fascinating, tastefully and uniquely decorated and her presence is warm and non-invasive. She has a lovely way about her. I enjoyed my stay immensely. I just wish it had been a little longer.

    Samantha2015-11-15T00:00:00Z
  • Flawless. Mhairi’s place is perfect, and she is such a cool lady! The room has everything you need, lovely ensuite bathroom is a big plus. Totally gorgeous house, beautiful and eclectic collection of art and decor. Hector is a hilarious noodle of a dog, so well behaved and almost completely silent, but very friendly! It was lovely having a calm base a bit out from the busy centre (especially during the festival), buses are regular but I actual ended up walking a lot because it’s so easy! I wish I stayed longer, I felt very welcome and would love to come back again one day!

    Jessica2018-08-22T00:00:00Z
  • Mhairi was a wonderful host, I do wish we had more time to chat. Her flat is in a great area, very close to town but still quite quiet. There's a place down the street called the chocolate cafe (or something like that) that does delicious crepes for breakfast. I had no problems while staying with Mhairi and her dog is adorable!

    Alyssa2016-09-27T00:00:00Z
  • Mhairi was such a lovely hostess! She was incredibly accommodating and thoughtful; she went out of her way to make sure I had everything I needed, from wine to umbrellas. I absolutely loved her home; it is stylish, homey, and creative. Great location near shops & restaurants.

  • Nice quiet location and a short walk or bus ride to town. Does the job. Shower a bit pathetic for the pressure. Oven is unusable due to missing markings, but everything else in the kitchen is fine. Bed is comfy although pillows are quite flat. Easy check in and out.

    Kat2019-03-24T00:00:00Z

  • Thank to Israel and his family for being great hosts. I was pretty solitary and spent most of my time in the house applying for jobs and rooms, but both Israel and Anita were happy for a talk when I was up and about. The entire family was very accommodating to my visit

King sized bedroom in a beautiful Georgian four storey town house on a picturesque garden square in the UNESCO World Heritage New Town. This freshly renovated basement flat has it's own private front door. The house is situated in the Stockbridge area of Edinburgh, close to the city centre and minutes away from fabulous artisan cafes, fantastic restaurants, delis, bars, pubs, independent shops and galleries. Across the square is Glenogle Baths with a gym, sauna and swimming pool.
The room is on the lower ground floor and has an ensuite bathroom. There is a private front door leading to this area of this house for guests. The rest of the house is a family home, although the family does not use this area of the house and there are connecting doors which are closed so it feels like a private apartment. There is another bedroom (with it's own private bathroom) on this floor which is unoccupied. If you have friends and would like a second room please message me as it is not currently listed. There are steep steps down to the front door which unfortunately make it unsuitable for guests with mobility problems. There are two cats in the family home.
There is a swimming pool and gym 100m from the house on the same garden square. The house is situated in the Stockbridge area of Edinburgh's New Town which boasts numerous independent shops and cafes, butchers, delicatessens, jewellers, pubs and restaurants as well as supermarkets and chemists, all within 5 minutes walk. There is also a local library. A walk down the river takes you to Edinburgh's stunning Botanical Gardens and the National Gallery of Modern Art. The centre of town is a 10-15 minute walk.

A very spacious room in a Victorian top floor flat with stunning views over Edinburgh. Bus routes to and from town centre are right on the doorstep and many popular destinations such as the Royal Botanic Gardens, Canonmills, the Water of Leith, New Town and Stockbridge are all within walking distance. A help-yourself breakfast is also provided!
The apartment is on the 3rd floor of a beautiful Victorian building, characteristic of Edinburgh, in a sophisticated, green area of town. Please note that there is no lift in the building due to its age but the views are well worth it! Your room has a kingsize bed, it is light-filled, spacious and recently decorated. In it you will find a hairdryer, iron, 3 mirrors including a full size one with a clothing rail, a bench convenient for your luggage and shelving for your use. The bathroom is for your private use, with towels, shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, face wash and tooth paste all provided. The huge kitchen and dining areas are shared and can be used by you at any time. You will find tea, coffee, milk, juice, cereal, bread and spreads there which you can help yourself to whenever you like. My boyfriend Ali and I are the only other people staying in the apartment with you.
The Royal Botanic Gardens are a 7 minute walk and can be seen from the bedroom window. Other popular destinations such as Inverleith park, Stockbridge and Cannonmills are within walking distance. The Majectic Tour passes right by our place. The Leith area is linked by direct bus route and offers some of Edinburgh's best restaurants as well the Royal Yacht Britannia. The upmarket New Town area with all its restaurants, galleries, bars and beautiful architecture is within walking distance or a short bus ride away. The Herringbone is a very popular restaurant & bar which offers breakfast, lunch, dinner and drinks of every type, 1 minute away. In Touch, 2 mins away, is a tried and tested Indian restaurant. There are also 3 different cafes right on our doorstep and 2 newsagents across the road for any essentials.
  • Nice spot. Great decor. Friendly hosts and super convenient location. A 5 star stay in our books

  • Svetlana's place is sweat and stylish. She collects amazing artworks from all over the world. Her place is near the botanical garden so it is nice to walk around. 20mins by bus or 30 mins by walk to the city centre. We had an amazing view from the room to the street. Because the room is next to the street, so you might hear some sound from the street. But it is not a busy street so it was fine for me. This airbnb also offered a really nice breakfast every morning. Svetlana has been really helpful and I felt really grateful to stay with her.

    Lisa2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely room with private bathroom. Svetlana was a very attentive host and a pleasure to meet. Her place is super trendy and cosy. Location was good for us as we didnt want to be in the city centre. The room overlooks the street so if you are not used to traffic noise you ll benefit from earplugs.

    Kasha2019-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful house, really spacious and carefully decorated. Warm atmosphere, due to the building as well as to Svetlana’s warm welcome. Very easy to get from the citycentre to Svetlana’s place by bus (or foot if you like a little stroll). All the little details and art in the house make it almost as if you’re staying in a museum (an informal one though). Really had a great stay!

    Jos2019-07-17T00:00:00Z
  • Great host and a brilliant location to explore Edinburgh!

    Guy2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • Svetlana's home is absolutely perfect. The whole place was spotlessly clean with the most amazingly quirky and stylish decor (we left with serious interior design envy). As a host she went above and beyond with homely touches, a fantastic variety for breakfast and great communication. All this and only a 20 minute walk from the centre - can't recommend enough!

    Poppy2019-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay was just as we had expected, a fantastic location for the botanical gardens and a lovely clean comfortable stay. Svetlana our host couldn’t have been more helpful or accommodating. Would highly recommend this stay.

Beautiful 2 bedroom apartment in a central location within walking distance of shops and main attractions. A bright and trendy first floor floor apartment on a leafy residential street. The living area is spacious and furnished to a very high standard. Double and single bedrooms with luxurious mattresses and bed linen. Fully fitted kitchen and shower room. Unique large roof terrace. This apartment is the perfect base for a holiday or business trip to the wonderful city of Edinburgh.
This beautiful apartment forms part of the Edinburgh Stockbridge Colonies
The apartment is situated in a neighbourhood called the Stockbridge colonies, which were built during the second half of the nineteenth century. The colonies are friendly and beautiful and Stockbridge itself is vibrant and trendy, and within a short walk of Princes Street and the main attractions. My apartment was originally the grocery shop for the colonies and was converted into a residential property in the 1980s. It has a beautiful situation and is in the perfect location to explore Edinburgh.
  • Had a brilliant time at Simon’s apartment. Nothing to fault at all!

  • We enjoyed our stay in simons apartment a lot! Its a cute and tidy place in a lively neighborhood. Its an easy walk to the city center. Although we didnt meet simon in person we felt very welcome. We found all the information needed in the apartment. We would definitely stay at simons place again.

  • A really lovely apartment that has all amenities you would want. Rooms were small but not too small and there is a huge roof terrace which unfortunately we couldn’t make the most of due the weather. The Stockbridge area is also a very nice part of Edinburgh and easily walkable to true city centre. We though Simon was a great host who sorted out any small problems straight away.

    Simon2018-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • Brilliant location. Beautiful flat and a very kind and thoughtful host. Simon left us tones of helpful tips and recommendations about the city attractions/restaurants and pubs. By foot, the appartment is just minutes away from Dean village and botanical garden... Yet it is also about 20-30 minutes away from city center... And Cabs are cheap so. It is an awesome place to stay !

  • This is an excellent base for a visit to Edinburgh, in a quiet part of town (very welcome during the Fringe!) which is friendly, full of character and very conveniently connected by buses. It is also a pleasant walk to and from the centre of town and the local shops, restaurants and bars are splendid. The Botanic Gardens are on the doorstep and well worth a visit. The apartment is clean, comfortable and well equipped and Simon very helpful and accessible regarding booking in and any other enquiries. The roof terrace - weather permitting - is huge! We would fully recommend staying here - and will certainly do so ourselves again. Thanks, Simon - a great stay.

Through in the bedroom you can relax and fall asleep to the sound of the river as it flows past the flat. Please read other things to note if you are travelling as 2 individuals.

The flat is also ideally located for pleasant walks along the water of Leith, dean village, Inverleith park and the botanical gardens.
  • Great open space with calming view of the Water of Leith, the neighborhood is full of great restaurants and beautiful architecture, and David was a top-quality host! Definitely recommend staying in this fabulous flat and coming to this amazing city!

  • We had a wonderful stay at David's flat. Excellent location with restaurants, shops and public transport right around the corner. The flat is clean, comfortable and tastefully decorated. We especially liked the view from the upper floor onto the Water of Leith. The kitchen is well equipped. We communicated with David through e-mail which were always answered within minutes. Check in / check out was efficient. We can fully recommend the place for trip to Edinburgh.

    Andy2019-03-30T00:00:00Z
  • Good flat in great location for exploring Edinburgh. The facilities are basic but good, more than enough for a base after a day exploring Edinburgh. The bed may be too small for couples for a long stay, as it is a small double, but we didn’t have any issues.

    Rachel2019-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • Just awesome ! Near everything! Thanks

    Anthony2017-09-13T00:00:00Z
  • Staying in David's place was a pleasure. The flat is very sweet, two floors which seem to be underground on your way in but then turn out to be very well exposed to the river. We had minimal contact with David and all through text but he was very efficient and very accommodating of our late arrival time. This flat is minimally furnished in terms of decoration/homey touches but has all the essentials and is in a truly great location.

    Ada2017-03-25T00:00:00Z
  • David was very communicative and helpful with check in and outs. The flat was lovely and clean, with towels and toiletries provided, which was a nice touch. The flat was a short walking distance away from all the main sights, and the area was very picturesque and quiet.

The property is a modern 2 bedroom flat in the Stockbridge area of Edinburgh, that can comfortably sleep 2 adults and a child in a bunkbed styled bed. There is a large living room, with a sofa seating area and television. The spacious kitchen area features modern appliances, a breakfast bar and a dining area that can seat up to six people.
There is a good sized master bedroom, with a comfortable king size bed, a luxurious headboard and wardrobe. Nextdoor there is s small, internal room, with a raised platform bed suitable for a child. My cleaners place fresh, hotel-quality linen and towels on your bed prior to arrival. The living room has an ornate chandelier and a large sofa. The kitchen is very modern and features all the essentials plus a dishwasher and breakfast bar. There is also a period dining table that effectively contrasts an elegant dining area with the modern fitted kitchen.
Stockbridge is a suburb of Edinburgh, located towards the north of the city, bounded by the New Town and by Comely Bank. The name is Scots stock brig from Anglic stocc brycg, meaning a timber bridge. Today, Stockbridge is well known for its independent shops, bars and restaurants with beautiful walks along the Water of Leith.
  • The worst place ever. The hot water and heating works as it mood, you just have to fit it every 40 min I would say, if you are a mechanic engineer feel free to stay, if not I highly recommend don’t stay. And customer service are the worst, it just like many people would talk with you but non of them are useful and responsible, saying things but won’t do, if that’s what you are expecting fell free to stay, that’s their attitude. I forget some of my personal stuff in the flat after I checked out and I ask them to check it for me, they never find it and they will tell u a time to give you the answer but they can never make it, or to let me know anything about it, they would say everything but won’t do much, very slow response or just disappear until you find them again.

  • The place was spotless when we arrived and it looked much better that what you can see in the photos. Location was perfect, Stockbridge is a a very nice area full of listed houses, prestige pubs and cafes with the centre only being a a 5 minute drive away. George is very efficient in his responses and he was very informative right the way through. Overall a great stay and I would definitely return.

  • Great flat in lovely Stockbridge! Perfect location — right on bus routes, down the street from some really lovely restaurants and within a 3ish minute walk from a Co-op. Round the corner from Dean Village and close to the Botanic Gardens. If you’re a walker you can make it from the door of the flat to Princes Street in 20 mins — uphill! We had a short stay in the flat and found everything as described. George was quick to respond to any inquiries and all the directions for check in and check out were clear and easy to follow. Overall a great stay!

This stunning flat in the trendy Stockbridge area of Edinburgh, is situated in the heart of one of the city's most popular neighbourhoods. Some of the best bars and restaurants are within 200 metres of the front door. The apartment has stunning views over the north of the city, is a within 15 minutes walk of the city centre, and 10 mins from Edinburgh's beautiful botanical gardens, and parks. Really the perfect location for exploring all the city has to offer.
The whole apartment is at our guests disposal.
Stockbridge benefits from beautiful architecture and numerous delightful parks and open spaces. A walk along the Water of Leith takes you past St Bernards Well and Dean Village or you could enjoy a picnic in Inverlieth Park or The Royal Botanic Gardens. The grounds of the National Gallery of Modern Art are beautifully maintained and it houses an impressive collection of art works. These, as well at the city centre and Princes Street, are all within easy walking distance. Stockbridge has some great cafes and bistros, as well as more formal restaurants. For a fine dining experience head to the Stockbridge Restaurant or Purslane. For a more casual (and less expensive meal) Hamilton’s Bar and Kitchen is a great favorite, or the Scran and Scallie is a 3 minute walk.
  • Great location for the Fringe and Festival or just sightseeing - Ross very welcoming and helpful and the apartment is perfect for short or long stays. Would certainly book it again!

    David2018-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at ross’s was great. He was there to welcome us and even had the kind gesture to put some food and drink in the fridge as we turned up late on from a flight. The flat itself was clean, tidy and in a perfect area with everything you could ever need right on your door step. All in all I would recommend anyone who is thinking about a trip to Edinburgh and wants to stay a stone throw away from the heart of town but also enjoy the luxuries of beautiful restaurants, friendly pubs but yet also enjoy relaxing walks in the park this is definitely the place to be. Coukd ask for a better place or host

  • Fantastic place to stay. Lovely clean flat with everything you need. In a great location in Stockbridge, lots of bars and restaurants right next to you. Flat was quiet and felt very safe. Great host, kept in touch and left some lovely little extras that made the difference. Would definitely stay again.

    Lisa2017-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • The flat was great! Also an excellent location with a pub on the first floor and another right next door. Small grocer right down the street and an excellent cheese shop. Amazing amenities and even special treats were provided for us. Pull-out bed was really comfortable. Ross was also very helpful and quick to respond regarding any questions about the place or tips for things to do in the area. Would definitely recommend staying at his flat!!

    Chris2018-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • This is my first time in Edinburgh/Scotland, and I am so pleased that I stayed at Ross's place. The apartment is fantastic in every way - cosy, comfortable and well-positioned. It has everything you need! Stockbridge itself is a lovely area, super trendy with endless choices for food, coffee, vintage shopping. Ross's recommendations were incredibly helpful. Thank you for hosting my visit. I would definitely recommend this flat to anyone who is looking for great accommodation in a great city, and would love to stay again if I am in Edinburgh in the near future!

    Florence2018-06-04T00:00:00Z
  • Every thing about Ross's apartment is perfect. The location, the spaciousness, the cleanliness, the amenities. And of course Ross himself is the most helpful host we have met. Would love to stay again at his place. Highly recommended.

    Fabrizio 2017-12-09T00:00:00Z
  • My husband, 10 year old daughter and I stayed at Ross’s place for 3 nights. Ross was very communicative with us and went above and beyond to help with anything we needed. The place is in a great location and very comfortable. It was easy to walk places or take the bus. He left some snacks to get us started and plenty of condiments. It’s on the top floor of the building so it has a lovely view. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Ross’s and highly recommend it.

The apartment is bright & modern with large windows & high ceilings. Featuring quality furnishings, the property is south facing & has an great view across Comely Bank. The bedroom is furnished with pieces from Made & Anthropologie, high quality bedding & venetian blinds. The bathroom is brand new, with power-shower & designer fittings. The apartment also features fast wifi, Philips Hue lighting & Alexa. Just 5 minutes walk to Stockbridge, 2 mins walk to the bus stop (15 mins to city centre).
The apartment was originally built in 1899 and features two original fireplaces, cornicing and an 'Edinburgh Press'. It has been renovated to a high-quality modern standard (including a brand new bathroom) and has real wood flooring, central heating and fast wifi. The place is rare in that it is one of the few Comely Bank tenements with a south facing, uninterrupted view. On a clear day you can see Arthur's Seat in the distance, past the Scott Monument on Princes Street. On the doorstep of Stockbridge, it is a 5 min walk to Inverleith Park and a 15 min walk to the Botanic Gardens.
History of Comely Bank - The ground was originally part of Sir William Fettes' estate. The original development was a terrace of Georgian town-houses built to face the main east-west road leading to Stockbridge. This was designed by Thomas Brown (architect) in 1817 and still stands today. The Victorian writer Thomas Carlyle lived in Comely Bank Road between 1819 and 1821 before achieving literary success. At that time, the terrace at the western end of the road was the last row of houses in Edinburgh before the village of Blackhall. In 1894 the builder Sir James Steel bought the then empty 33 acre site between Comely Bank and Queensferry Road and developed it as high density but high quality four storey tenements. He later served as Lord Provost of Edinburgh. Construction continued after his death in 1904. It ceased altogether during the First World War and was not completed until the 1930s.
  • The flat is in an excellent location, close to many restaurants, cafes, supermarkets even though it is not at the city center. You can walk about 15-20min to get to the center or take the bus :) The flat itself is lovely, with everything you need, very confy bed, a lot of light, amazing shower :D

  • Stylish apartment in a great location, communication was superb.

    Kev2019-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • From the very beginning we felt at home. Everything was decorated so lovely and we had everything we needed! In the neighbourhood a supermarkt and busstop can be found (but we normally walked to the city center). Daniel was always very friendly, helpful and quick in answering. We would really recommend the apartment as we had a wonderful time!

    Alina2019-09-14T00:00:00Z
Exactly as you see in the photos, even better. Luxury flat, great communication with Daniel at all times, and amazing location (residential area with shops/restaurants/bars nearby, and about 15min walking from the New Town and 20 from the Old Town, a pleasant walk). I will definitely stay again at Daniel’s flat next time I come to Edinburgh

  • Di was very helpful and the apartment was lovely!

    Taylor2016-09-26T00:00:00Z
  • After booking Di's place my expectations were low, considering how much cheaper the flat is compared with others. On arrival Di greeted me with a smile, showed me around and explained how everything worked. Including local area info and if she could help with making the most of my time in Edinburgh. The pictures are true to what I saw, with more than I expected for the price. If you are looking for a quiet, clean and comfortable flat to stay in, you won't go far wrong with Di's place. Shops and restaurants are within walking distance, and frequent buses go into the centre from just outside the flat every 10 minutes. I will be returning when I am next in Edinburgh * * * * *

    George2017-04-10T00:00:00Z
  • Di was incredibly accomodating and kind during our stay. Her apartment was cozy and lovely with lots of space for us, including a comfortable bed and access to the kitchen. Di lives in a great, safe area not far from food and sights (including the beautiful Botanic Garden), but it is definitely a bit of a walk to Old Town. Possible if you're up for walking, but a trek - and there are buses nearby. We loved our stay here!

    Bridget2016-03-23T00:00:00Z
  • She was very quick to respond on my inquiries even at 02:00 am.

    Shintaro2016-07-21T00:00:00Z
  • Very welcoming host! The apartment was very clean and aesthetic. The bus routes were convenient - about 1 minute away from the flat! We really enjoyed staying in Di`s flat!

  • We had a great stay with Di. She was inviting and I felt like we got an exceptional value. Her place is immaculately clean and you can tell she takes pride in providing all the details you need. This apartment is up a few flights of stairs. We found enough counterspace in the bathroom and there is plenty of storage space in the bedroom should you need it. The bed was very comfortable and it is very dark in the room with curtains if you're trying to get yourself on track with the time change. Very close to town, just a short bus ride away to The Mound/Royal Mile. Found a fantastic pub just down the road called 'Brandon's'. Thanks Di!

  • Di was very pleasant and welcoming. The apartment was easy to find and very convenient for buses into the centre (though walking doesn't take too long). The room was good and the bed comfortable. Di was either on hand or available by phone for any queries or help.

  • Thanks we had amaizing time

    Danila2018-05-27T00:00:00Z
  • Lauren’s place is exceptional! It has absolutely everything you could possibly need from a Bluetooth speaker to a wine bottle stopper to a coffee machine. She left some little essentials (milk, bread, jam, butter and biscuits), as well as toiletries, including makeup wipes, which were lovely little touches! The place was spotless and in a beautiful location, just a 10/15 minute walk into the centre. We also loved the little patio outside, where my partner and I enjoyed breakfast each morning. 100% would recommend!

    Paige2018-05-16T00:00:00Z
  • Best Airbnb experience yet! Lauren is a lovely host who communicated quickly, had really useful advice and was super helpful when we needed late checkout. She was incredibly thoughtful leaving some kitchen essentials for us which was much appreciated whilst we got to know the area. The apartment itself was clean, modern and full of great amenities. We were lucky for good weather making dinners on the patio a dream. I would say it feels like a home from home but it was so much better. The apartment was also accessible being walkable to the city centre as well as being close to lovely bars and pubs and Stockbridge market. I highly recommend Lauren and the apartment!

    Nisha2018-05-21T00:00:00Z
  • Quiet and charming neighborhood, nice to be tucked away a bit from the tourist crowds but in walking distance of attractions like the palace gardens and castle. The home was clean, cozy, and had sweet amenities waiting for us. Would recommend and book again - wish we had more time!

    Sally2018-07-04T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Lauren's cottage was very nice and we had a great stay. The cottage has been nicely remodeled inside with really nice appliances and decor. She had many extras, from staples in the kitchen to many bath items. The location is in a nice area with the grocery, bus stop, drug store and Cafe's/restaurants within 2-3 blocks. The walk to Weaverley near old town was about 25 mins for us but we are in the over 55 yrs range. Younger legs could do it in 10-15. Lauren was a great host and responded quickly to all of my inquiries. We saw the city for a few days via the hop on hop off and pre-purchased tickets for the Castle, Palace and Royal Yacht which saved time as we didn't have to wait in lines. Loved Scotland and the cottage was a great value.

    Danielle2018-05-29T00:00:00Z
  • Terrific location and great hostess.

    Marc2018-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • Firstly, lauren was a fantastic host, she was accommodating and extremely quick to reply, she was very kind to let us check in a little early as we had been travelling from 3 am! We booked the trip as a half term break and it really was fantastic. From the moment we arrived we fell in love with the apartments flawless interior and The quirky and seamless touches that ran through it. There was bread, jam, coffee, biscuits and more ready for us which was very much appreciated after all the travelling. There were other supplies such as toothpaste, shower gels, hairdryer and easy to use kitchen appliances ready for us and it was full of all the mod cons. We made use of the WiFi to book trips and she really had thought of everything even down to the tv having virgin! The walk in to town was a little far if you’re not a fan of walking, however we didn’t mind at all, it was very close to all public transport and we found the cheapest way to travel was to Uber a taxi! The area felt extremely safe and very peaceful and the seating area is lovely for warmer evenings! During our three day trip we tried to squeeze as much tourist experiences as possible! Such as, the dungeons the castle, the zoo, the free potter trail, the excursions to the city vaults and the city tour buses. Our particular favourites, although very hard to pick, were the free potter trail (if you’re potter geeks like ourselves) and the Edinburgh dungeons which we laughed and jumped throughout! There’s so much to do in the Stockbridge area too- Lauren left us a lovely guide. Thank you so much for sharing your home. It was absolutely gorgeous and we would recommend booking the apartment and with lauren a thousand times over! Many thanks again, Hannah and Rhys.

Fantastic. Stockbridge is like a village attached to Edinburgh. It is only 15 minutes casual scenic walk from city the city center. Stockbridge is one of the most sought after places to live and won the Sunday Times best places to live in 2016. Offering a wide range of excellent bars and restaurants within walking distance of the flat. http://www.thesundaytimes.co.uk/sto/news/uk_news/scotland/article1677889.ece 2 minutes walk to the lovely Inverleith park, 5 minutes walk to The Botanical Gardens and The Water of Leith walkway. Gift shops, deli's, butchers, bakers or supermarkets. You can also take a nice 25 minute stroll along the Water of Leith to Murrayfield Stadium if Rugby is the reason for your visit. For runners, I regularly enjoy an 8 to 10k run along walking/cycling pathways out to the sea front and back (you can go even further along the shore).
  • This nice flat is located in one of the best and characteristic districts of Edinburgh, Stockbridge. It's a wonderful spot of the town where you can spoil yourself visiting handcraft shops, coffee shops and beautiful gardens. We've really enjoyed the company of Abigail and her cheerful cats. Highly recommended!

  • Great stay at Abigail's with the two kings of the flat (The cats). Flat was kept warm the whole time which was much needed with the Winter weather. Clean, tidy, and had some lovely candles burning to keep the place smelling great. Around 15min walk to the centre, with lots of small shops along the way. Kitchen was well stocked with all appliances you would ever need. Abigail even offered to provide foods for breakfast - not needed but great host for offering! Bed was extremely comfy which made it difficult for us to ever leave the flat to go explore the city. As it is an old building, you can hear footsteps but it did not bother us too much, and it was only during the day when people are coming back from work, etc.

  • Abi is the best host ever! She is kind and funny and her place is so beautiful and the location is great, near to parks, city centre. She made me feel so welcome and my room was wonderful!

  • Amazing City, Amazing Host you don't need to look to another host in Edinburgh she was very nice and friendly with her lovely cats loved to stay there :)

  • Great host, great place. Highly recommendable. Everything was exactly as shown in pictures.

  • Great location, great place, great cats, and great host! I really appreciated Abi's flexibility and generosity (I checked-out late, she lent me a charger adapter, and let me pilfer her tea for the week). Mac and Whiskey are some of the friendliest and most polite kitties I've encountered and added to the warm welcome. Abi's house is conveniently situated to downtown and the old town (20 - 25 minutes walking), as well as a beautiful park and the botanical gardens. Several buses run through the neighborhood making transportation convenient. The area is peaceful and quiet and close to several supermarkets, should you feel inclined to make your own meals. I highly recommend and will certainly book with Abi the next time I am in Edinburgh.

  • Had to return for a final night before I left to return home for Christmas. Abi was hospitable as ever, as were Mack and Whiskey (the two ginger Toms). Plenty of conversation, laughs, and a few whiskeys downed.

  • Abi is such a lively and lovely host, I just had to return for one more night just before Christmas. She has great local knowledge and her cats are adorable. The place is spotless and homely, with a cosy window seat (and plenty of cushions) looking down onto the street below. Most definitely recommended.

Single room in cosy Victorian flat, close to Royal Botanic Gardens and town centre. Cafes, bars and convenience stores to hand. Walk into town - takes about 30 mins, pick up a Just Eat Bike from across the road or take any of 3 buses. This is a great location, easy to get to and loads of room. Comfy single bed, tea & coffee. Unbelievably quiet. Bathroom with deep bath and thermostatic shower. Clean, cosy and relaxing.
Bright spacious room in traditional Victorian tenement. Over-looking shared garden into tenement quadrant. It's very quiet in the back of the building. Free wi-fi, gas central-heating and loads of hot water. It's very easy to get into town from here and the Royal Botanics are a few minutes away. Goldenacre has a good selection of small shops and take-aways, a restaurant across the road and several cafes. It's a 15 minute walk to Tesco's in Canonmills. Ainslie Park Leisure Centre is approximately 20 minutes on foot with swimming pool and gyms.
Goldenacre is a bustling junction where Inverleith meets Ferry Road. It's well served with shops and very safe.
  • Joy’s place was wonderful! The room was very large, clean, and bright. It’s in a great location, within walking distance of the Botanic Gardens (must see) and near a couple different bus stops with a lot of bus routes that will take you straight into the city. The bathroom was VERY clean, and the shower was always warm after a long day. I would love to stay here again!

  • It's a real joy to stay at Joys place! Joy is a very lovely person who will make you feel straight at home. Her place is super clean and the room you stay in is very comfy. The bed is just the best - you'll sleep like a baby. There's a bus station just a few steps away, it goes to the city centre in one direction and to the sea side in the other direction. Definitely recommend staying with her :)

    Katharina2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • I felt very welcomed and relaxed at Joy's place, she is nice and thoughtful about every detail which you need for a comfortable stay. The apartment is clean and it's close to the center even by walk. I highly recommend

  • It was a pleasure to stay with Joy. The space is so relaxing and looks out into a lovely garden. It was a perfect home away from home during my stay in Edinburgh. Just one tip for travelers who might be there for the Fringe - heavy traffic during that time does cause delays in bus service so if you have shows you need to get to in the city center, I recommend giving yourself some extra time to get there by bus! Thanks again to Joy for accommodating me!

    Demi2019-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • The room I stayed in was absolutely beautiful and cosy. The bed was comfortable and everything was clean and tidy. Joy and her daughter are very kind people , I felt welcome and save. The B&B is not in the city centre, but there a several buses going to the centre. It is absolutely easy going. Not to forget the brilliant shower with high pressure! If you have been to Britain before, you know what I'm talking about, haha. I would like to stay again.

    Claudia2019-06-09T00:00:00Z
  • Joy's house is beautiful, the room is spacious, the bed extremely comfortable, and the bathroom impeccably clean with a great shower. I stayed for 3 nights over the Fringe festival, and used the local buses to get in and out of the City centre. The buses are frequent, good value, and you can now use contactless, with a cap, so you don't need to decide in advance if you need a day ticket. I used a night bus one evening, and that was great too (although, watch out for Google maps trying to take you on a route through an un-lit park). Joy is lovely, friendly, and genuine. She made my trip all the better! I loved staying at Joy's place, and highly recommend it.

Quite 2-bed city centre apartment, 5 minutes' walk from the city centre. Voted best place to live in Scotland. The property features 2 very quiet double bedrooms, both overlooking gardens. Perfect for watching the fireworks in August & Hogmanay.
Two very quiet double bedrooms overlooking gardens – and some of the Grange cricket club where you could spot the Scottish cricket team play. Both double beds have full linen and covers provided. The double sofa bed in the living room is also complete with linen and pillows. Please note, there is a small extra charge for using the sofa bed for bookings of 4 or less guests. (This is £10 and is to cover the extra laundry and cleaning.) If you are booking for 5 or 6 guests, this fee is already included in the price. Just let us know in advance if you’d like to use this and we’ll tell you where the extra bed set is hiding.
Just out the front door, you walk straight into the heart of Stockbridge, with a plethora or pubs, cafes and some of the best restaurants in Edinburgh - all within 50-100 metres. Through the kitchen window you’ll get a stunning view of the top of the castle. In August, for the Fringe festival, Edinburgh Military Tattoo put on a fantastic fireworks display which you can watch from the kitchen or living room. The world famous Princes Street is only a 10 minute walk away, only a stone’s throw away from Edinburgh Castle and the Unesco Heritage Edinburgh Old Town. In case the hustle and bustle of the city centre gets a bit too much, there is plenty to explore more locally too. The Stockbridge market on Saunders Street runs every Sunday: with plenty of sweet and savoury treats, artisan coffee (or gin if that’s more for you!) – or even some last minute Scottish tweed/ cashmere or wool finds, just on the very odd chance the Edinburgh weather not be on its best behaviour. Vendors vary from week to week, but there is always something for everyone. Walking the other way from the flat (left out the door and then first left again) you’ll find Edinburgh’s second largest city centre park (Inverleith Park), where you can enjoy the sunset overlooking the castle, work out on the open air fitness trail or even hear bagpipe bands practicing Monday nights.
  • Good location about a mile walk to main area and lots of local cafes and pubs nearby. Would recommend to others. Clean, tidy and spacious bedrooms.

Double room in Victorian house, with bathroom and use of living room, 10 mins by bus, 20 min walk to city centre. In lovely quiet area next to Botanic Gardens and Inverleith Park but close to busy Stockbridge with bars restaurants and shops.
The house is situated in a quiet street, bordered on two sides by the Royal Botanical Gardens and overlooking Inverleith Park. It is a 5 minute walk to a frequent bus service to the town centre (10 mins, fare £1.70) or a 25 minute walk to Princes St. We own the top floor of the house. The room has a double bed and plenty of storage space. Wifi is available. Off street parking is available in the drive. Apart from the owners, Sandra and Scott, one cat shares the house, but he doesn't have access to the bedroom (unless invited!)
  • Warm friendly reception and through out the stay. Room was big and clean with a comfortable bed. Just like staying in a hotel, came and went as you pleased. Highly recommended if visiting Edinburgh as it is located within walking distance to the City centre and comes with parking and breakfast!

    Sau2015-06-01T00:00:00Z
  • Great location - we wanted to visit the Fringe Festival but as we were travelling around Scotland, also needed somewhere we could park the car easily. We were able to leave the car on their drive whilst we walked into the city, which worked well. On our last morning, Sandra and Scott were kind enough to let us leave the car there for a bit longer whilst we popped into the botanical gardens next door (recommended). We received a warm welcome on arrival and the range of breakfast items on offer each day was more than expected. Many thanks for your hospitality.

  • We enjoyed staying with Sandra and Scott. They are exceptional host, welcoming and helpful. Great home! Great location!

  • Splendid location, super nice hosts, free parking and easy access to both the city centre and Leith harbour.

  • Clean, spacious room nicely located to botanical gardens and 5-10 mins Uber to city centre. Extremely friendly and helpful hosts. 100% recommend.

    Alex2017-04-30T00:00:00Z
  • Sandra and Scott's place was such a fun experience. Situated right next to the Botanical Gardens, only a 5 min walk to a bus that wil take you right to the Royal Mile and Castle in 20mins. Your room is big with a very comfy bed and your toilet and shower are just across the hall. In the morning you go to a dining room to have a wonderful continental breakfast that features Sandra's amazing raspberry jam. What I loved best was how inviting Sandra and Scott were, very helpful in there tips of getting around and great conversation. Highly recommended, will definitely be back.

The colonies are set back off the stylish village of Stockbridge with it’s “go to” cafes, bars and restaurants for the locals of Edinburgh. With the water of leith running passed your door and the botanical gardens a stones throw away, this hidden gem is a must to stay in. It’s bright space with stylish decor and quirky setting you will be talking about your visit here for years. Cosy and comfortable and perfect for a quick city break or a romantic getaway.
The whole space is just for you. Feel free to make yourself welcome and enjoy all the comforts home from home. With its little garden out front, it’s perfect for a chilled glass of wine in the evening sunshine.
There are many lovely areas in Edinburgh, but Stockbridge has to be one of our favourites with its charming village-like atmosphere, abundance of cafes and restaurants and its friendly locals. You’ve also got beautiful green areas such as Inverleith Park, the Botanic Garden and Water of Leith on your doorstep. Stockbridge actually used to be a small village outside the city that was incorporated into the City of Edinburgh in the 19th century. It’s such a great, vibrant place that you can easily spend a whole weekend exploring (and eating your way through) Stockbridge! Once you’ve made yourself at home it’s time to go out and get to know the area. Head to the bridge that Stockbridge gets its name from on Deanhaugh Street – the name comes from Scots ‘stock brig’ meaning ‘timber bridge’. The current ‘Stock bridge’ is made out of stone, however, and spans Water of Leith. Walk along Dean Terrace or Saunders Street to get to the path that takes you through Dean Gardens to the stunning Dean Village – once a busy industrial village with eleven mills powered by the river. Walk around and snap away with your camera or phone and make sure you also cross the river and visit Well Court, the most striking building in the village. As you’ll be in the area we highly recommend you walk to the Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art. If you’re hungry head to the lovely cafe for a bite to eat before you immerse yourself in modern art. Walk back to Stockbridge the way you came and go back to the flat to put up your feet for a while before dinner. Our Stockbridge homes are all in great locations so you have the luxury of just popping home if you wish! You also have the option of cooking dinner in the apartment or heading out to one of the many restaurants. If you decide you want to go out for a meal why not try the hip Smith & Gertrude for a beautiful glass of wine and a cheese/charcuterie board to go with it. Depending on how much cheese you eat (trust us, you can easily overdose here!) you might need something else to fill your belly with. If so, there are many options around, such as Hamilton’s Bar & Kitchen next door, Nok’s Kitchen for some delicious Thai food or perhaps opt for a fine dining experience at Purslane. Staying in a self catering apartment also gives you the option of having breakfast in the house – which we think you should take advantage of! So pop into Sainsbury’s, Waitrose or Scotmid and get some eggs, fresh bread, orange juice and fruit and enjoy a nice, relaxed breakfast before heading out. Start Saturday with a lovely cup of coffee at one of Stockbridge’s many coffee shops. Peter’s Yard and Artisan Roast always deliver, and if you want to pick up your own, locally roasted coffee beans make sure you visit Mr Eion (coffee makes a great souvenir as well!). With a takeaway coffee in one hand, leisurely stroll to the stunning Botanics to enjoy Edinburgh’s most beautiful public garden. We recommend you visit the enticing Glasshouses with plants from the tropics, desert and everything in between. The highlight of a Stockbridge weekend must be the weekly Sunday market in Jubilee Gardens that seems to be where both the tourists and the locals mingle, often accompanied by live music. Try the mouth-watering dumplings by Harajuku Kitchen and scoff down a bag of heavenly marshmallows by the Marshmallow Lady for dessert.
  • You won’t be disappointed if you book this Airbnb, it’s was better than expected from the photos, so clean and lovely decor. There were breakfast things there along with tea and coffee. The bed was amazing, so much so I’m not looking forward to getting into my own bed tonight. Thank you so much for a wonderful break. Alison & Simon

  • This was a great place to stay. The apartment is clean and cosy and the street it is on was so pretty. I went to explore Edinburgh and see the botanical gardens which is all in easy walking distance.

  • Loved staying here! It was clean and tidy, had fresh linen and towels and the fridge and cupboards were well stocked with breakfast and everyday needs. The street is extremely peaceful and with such a luxurious bed, it guaranteed me a great night's sleep. The location is great too, Stockbridge is my favourite place to visit, and this flat is perfect for it. Also, only a 20mins walk into the city centre, which is ideal! Thanks for having me Marie Claire, I loved it!

    Helen2019-09-07T00:00:00Z
  • Brilliant if you want a private get away that is close to the town centre and also a short walk to the botanical gardens

  • We had a lovely time and the provision of milk and breakfast items was really good, as was the shower gel and soap. Flat was really cosy with quirky books to look at which was a lovely touch. Really comfy bed. Would stay again was like being in the country but within minutes of cafes, independent shops, etc. The small garden was good too as we sat out in the sunshine with a cold beer - what more could you ask for! Worth a walk along the water of Leith which is just beside flat. Saw two Herons when there. The only negative was the 10am check out.

    Clare2019-05-29T00:00:00Z
  • What a beautiful place to stay! Easy to walk into the city and nice little restaurants and cafes close by. Marie Claire was very friendly and helpful. Loved it!

    Tanya2019-07-18T00:00:00Z
  • The property was as described with a lovely outside space and light airy rooms. Use of Television was by sign in and watching catch up. Distance to free parking is 20 minutes walk but outside RBGE there was parking for £5 for 9 hours. Excellent bus services to Town. We also found a good restaurant on the Main road just opposite on the South Side. Very quiet a recommend especially if you plan to visit Royal Botanical Gardens Edinburgh.

Bright, comfortable and clean bedroom in my centrally located home in the heart of fashionable Stockbridge. Your bedroom is equipped with a luxurious kingsize bed, fresh cotton sheets, hanging and drawer space with a comfy lounge chair and small desk. The bedroom door is lockable. The shared bathroom has a good electric shower and there is a spacious kitchen diner to enjoy a leisurely breakfast and plan your day.
Stylish Stockbridge is a village community right in the heart of Edinburgh. Princes Street is only 15 mins walk away with bus transport around the town from right outside the front door.
  • Debbie was a really lovely host, above and beyond accomodating. Her place is really comfortable, and in a really beautiful stretch of wine bars, pubs and cafes - and a short walk from anywhere! I would really happily stay again.

Was only a 15/20 minute walk into edinburgh so perfect distance or only 10 minutes on the bus which goes from right outside of the apartment. Debbie was a wonderful host who was extremely accommodating and made us feel at home - we met her at the pub on our first night there and was great to chat and have a few drinks! Apartment was clean and spacious. Would highly recommended if you don’t want to be right in city centre!!

Debbie had great recommendations for pubs and activities. The apartment was super comfortable, clean, and very cute. 10/10 would recommend!

  • Easily my best AirBnB stay ever. I could write a novel-sized review, but I think I will keep it short and simple. I stayed at Debbie’s place for two months while I was in Edinburgh as a visiting PhD student, and I loved every minute of it. Debbie went out of her way to make my stay great, but what is more important -- she made me feel like I was home away from my official home, and I look back at the many incredible days with fondness. Stockbridge is an incredible area with a village-y feel to it, and I am glad I got to feel like a was a part of the local community, even if that was for a short period of time. Also, even though nothing in Edinburgh is “far”, I have to mention that Stockbridge is literally a 15 minutes walk from the main shopping street (Princes Street, central), and there is also a bus stop right in front of the house. Long story short: there is only one downside -- I miss Edinburgh way too sorely now. And I know my stay would have never been the same without Debbie, her place and Stockbridge. Can’t wait to be back again. If you’re hesitating, please don’t. Can’t imagine you finding a better place to stay, even with the variety of options Edinburgh has to offer considered. P.S. If you stay at Debbie’s, please pay Cafe Gallo (which is next door) a visit. A lovely family-run Italian place with amazing coffee and delicious daily specials, you won’t regret it. Maria

Perfect location with only a short walk to Stockbridge. A large spacious double bedroom with comfortable King Size bed. The bedroom also contains table and chairs, wardrobe and WI-FI access. Free whisky available on the mantelpiece ! The bathroom is not ensuite but is conveniently located next to the bedroom. The flat is in Stockbridge, one of the most fashionable parts of Edinburgh with its many bars, cafes and restaurants only a stones throw away. The city centre is only 15 minutes walk away.
I live in an area of Edinburgh called Stockbridge. It is only 15/20 minutes walk to the city centre but the area has its own unique feel and has a great selection of cafes, bars , restaurants and shops to choose from. My favorite pub is the Bailly and favorite cafe is The Pantry.
  • Large room that is close to the centre. Good price and a lovely host.

  • It has been my best Airbnb experience so far, the house is clean, tidy and super cosy. The location is great, only 20 minutes walk from the Airlink stop (from Edinburgh Airpot). Neil is a really nice and charming host with some very good tips to visit Edinburgh. He made us feel confortable and most welcome (even thought we came 1 hour late because of our flight delay). I had a great time and was very nice discovering Edinburgh. I would highly recommand staying in this place !

  • Neil's place was perfect for our visit to the Fringe - a great location, quiet and with one of the comfiest beds we've ever slept on! Neil was an excellent host and we felt really welcome. We'll be back in a few years' time!

  • Neil is a very kind gentleman. His home is very warm and clean, which reminds me of my own room. It is convenient to go interesting places ob foot. By the way, paintings on the walls and numerous books make the home become a really peaceful place.

Welcome to 1 Raeburn Mews! Stockbridge is a vibrant and bustling area of dinburgh. Raeburn Mews, however, is an ‘oasis of calm’ in the city. Close to Edinburgh Centre, Inverleith Park and Botanical Gardens. There are some super coffee shops and restaurants in Stockbridge and Waitrose is a 10 minute walk. We live just along the road and we love this area. It has a ‘villagey’ feel but it is in the heart of this amazing city – full of culture, art and history.
  • Great little flat in great location. Ideal for a couple and close to shops and cafes with a short walk into city centre. Would use again next time we are looking for an Edinburgh stay

  • Fabulous location with free parking. Completely secure. Great choice of eateries on the doorstep and only 20 mins walk into the City centre.

  • We stayed here twice, at the beginning and at the end of our Scotland roundtrip. Both our stays have been wonderful! The location of the cottage is perfect as it‘s very central yet so quiet. It has everything you might need! Michael has been very helpful with any questions or problems we had. We highly recommend this place and will definitely stay here again next time we come to Edinburgh!

  • We loved everything! A gem of a find, great location, quiet but in lively Stockbridge with its restaurants and shops. Parking space right outside. The cottage is well equipped, modern and done on good taste. Shame we couldn’t stay longer!

  • A quiet cottage with restaurants and cafes, and shops on the doorstop. Close by are the Royal botanical gardens, and the nearby bus stop gives easy access to the city.
