The Snug is a lovely peaceful private room with private patio and en-suite bathroom. Located in walking distance from downtown Geneva. The decor is modern and inviting. King size bed, sofa, flat screen tv with WiFi, toaster, kettle, coffee maker and Fridge. Water and milk provided along with a variety of teas and coffee. Bread, butter and preserves for toast also provided. In the bathroom you’ll find a very fun Bluetooth shower, shampoo, conditioner and body wash provided.
  • Fi's place was amazing! My wife and I were celebrating our Anniversary with a quick last minute get away. We had dinner and drinks in downtown Geneva and Fi's place was a perfect place for us to spend the night. The room was very clean and modern. The bluetooth shower was so much fun and relaxing. The deck with the lights and the water feature would have been a great area to have a glass of wine or some coffee but unfortunately the weather did not cooperate with us. The bed was extremely comfortable. We could have laid in there all day. She also had a toaster with bread and various jams for some breakfast. There was a coffee maker and a little fridge with butter and creamer. It was nice to have all of that available in the morning. Fi was a great communicator and very quick to respond to our inquiries. We loved our stay at the Snug and we would highly recommend it!

  • This was our first stay at an Airbnb and we were absolutely delighted! Beautiful wooded surroundings. Tastefully decorated space separate from main house. Very clean. Quiet. Comfy bed. Large leather couch and huge tv for football watching. Appreciated the muffins and fruit and Keurig! John is welcoming and quickly responds to questions. We hope to stay there again when we return to visit family in Geneva. Oh — and Townhouse Books in St Charles is very close and a terrific spot for finding unusual books and then having lunch at the attached cafe!

  • Aly's place is great. It provided me a quiet, private and convenient location for my stay in West Chicago. My schedule had me coming and going at odd hours, which was just fine for Aly. I'll stay again when I travel back to this area.

    Matthew2019-05-14T00:00:00Z
  • Quick communication, clear instructions, and accurate description of the space.

    Sean2019-05-05T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you for everything! We had a great time in your place! We would definetely stay in your airbnb again.

    Gergana2018-08-16T00:00:00Z
  • This place is a well apportioned space in the hosts basement. I dreaded the concept of 'basement' living, but the way it is laid out, it doesn't feel like it. The hosts hospitality was top notch, communication lines were immediately set up and worked quickly and efficiently and the amenities work well for the traveler. Close to the Fox River Walk, it is ideal if one has the time to explore some of the sites in St Charles on foot. Near parks with art layouts throughout and a large and open green space work well for the dog owner who walks a lot. I would most definitely choose this location again.

    Jarrig2019-09-26T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice place to stay! Before arriving I was a bit nervous about the basement being musty, but it was no problem at all. Aly keeps the basement air conditioned and very clean and dry. Beautiful location near the Fox river! Aly did a great job of answering all my questions via text very quickly.

    Richard2018-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • Only spent the one night there, but it was really nice. Check in was super easy, and the space is really big. Some really thoughtful home touches and amenities from Aly as well, appreciated that. Was an easy 15 minute walk into central St Charles. Area was really nice by the river and seemed safe and laid back. Just met Aly briefly before I left. Cannot fault the place at all, would definitely stay again, thanks Aly!

This garden apartment is in the lower level of my home. Newly renovated, fully furnished on the east-side of Geneva in a quiet and friendly neighborhood. Walking distance from downtown Geneva, the train, many great restaurants and shops, and miles of bike paths. Guests have the entire floor that includes a queen bed, full bathroom and a shared laundry room. A shared kitchen with a refrigerator is available for guests to use on the main floor. The TV has Netflix and a Roku box.
This space is great for a single working person. The gourmet kitchen upstairs is shared. A great, quiet neighborhood right near the Fox River.
I live on the "tree house" street. My street dead-ends, so the traffic is minimal. Lots of dog walking, runners and bikers, just up from the amazing Prairie Bike Path. If you like quiet walks along a river, little quaint shops and foodie restaurants and bars, this will be your happy place!

  • The apartment was perfect! Very spacious and clean. The washer and dryer in the bathroom was a great amenity to have, we were able to wash all of our dirty laundry before heading home to save time. It was very quiet in the apartment complex and the staff at the leasing office were very accommodating and kind. The location is close to everything. Our friends were a short 10 minute drive away in South Elgin. We got so much more for our money with this rental than we ever have with a hotel. We will absolutely be renting this place again when we return to Geneva.

  • Nicole is a very responsive host and great to work with!! Nice place too!

  • First off we want to say how beautiful the house and property was, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay overall with our children. There was ample space to fit our family the location was perfect. Despite a few hiccups with the laundry Appliances NOT being available and the kitchen sink not draining. We were impressed at the effort and response time in Which Sandy tried to accommodate, and made due with the situation.

    Christopher2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • Sandy was ready for us and had little extras that made our weekend very enjoyable. Coffee pods were there for us and the thoughtfulness from Sandy really made a difference. The home is exactly as pictured, great location, clean and quiet and comfy!!!

  • I used to live in the area and was looking for a location closer to places I like to visit than any of the local motels. What I discovered was a very clean inviting place with all the amenities of the motels, but a much more comfortable feeling of home away from home. When I said I noticed how close they are to the Wellness Center I belonged to years ago when it first opened and would appreciate using a guest pass there rather than any local fitness chain, Carol invited me to join her at the exercise class she attends there. They are also close to my old favorite bike paths.

    Karen2018-03-21T00:00:00Z
  • Carol's neighborhood is safe, and her home is very cozy. Easy street parking right in front. The house was clean. She offered many amenities, which I don't typically get, like a variety of snacks and extra toiletries. There was even an iron and ironing table in the hall. I slept well in her quiet house, and loathed to get out of her very comfortable guest bed. She was generous with her time and attention, making sure that I settled in well and gave lots of suggestions for places to eat. I would definitely stay there again!

    Megan2019-04-17T00:00:00Z
  • Very clean with careful touches. Lots of excellent pillows and abundance of clean linens. Safe and secure environment free of funny business.

    Amber2019-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • I had a very restful and comfortable stay, Carol and Stan were very welcoming and took a lot of trouble to give me great tips about where to go and what to see as well as going out of their way to make it easy for me to get about.

    Diana2019-06-10T00:00:00Z
  • Comfortable like walking into my own home only much tidier and clean. VERY quiet and comfortable bed and linens for good sleep. Kitchen is inviting at all times with snacks and beverages available. Settings for a breakfast looking like House and Garden magazine with a variety of food available for a full breakfast if you wish. Very pretty, well lit, safe neighborhood.

  • Jodi and Mike were amazing hosts!! Their private upstairs apartment is the perfect space for a small group. Spacious, clean, fully equipped, full of charm. Kitchen, dining and sitting areas were great. Beds were comfortable. A/C unit kept the space cool. The house is tucked away in a nice neighborhood, but walking distance to stores and restaurants in St Charles. The house has a nice landscaped sideyard that we had access to. Highly recommend for your next get-away.

Our main guest bedroom was the original master bedroom of the house. It has a super comfy queen iron bed and antique furnishings. The settee is just right for sitting back for a good read or checking your email. This room overlooks the Baker Memorial Church and the main garden. The house itself is located within a block of main street, the Arcada Theater, and all the restaurants, bars and shops of St. Charles.
  • The hosts were top-notch. They expended extra effort to make my experience as comfortable and cozy as could be. I felt at ease, as if I were a member of the family. I was treated to delicious meals on a number of occasions. The location was superb, right in downtown St. Charles. There is a jogging trail very nearby, cute boutiques and many pubs and restaurants. The woodwork in the home is amazing! There are a number of areas to work and study along with soft patio furniture. Also, there was ample refrigerator space and freezer space. The hosts offered me coffee daily and encouraged me to use any ingredients I was missing for baking sweets to share :-) They also gave excellent suggestions for local restaurants. And this is just skimming the surface! Truly red-carpet treatment.

  • We had a wonderful stay and hope to return . Ed is a magnificent host and goes the "extra mile" on just about everything. The room is beautiful, bathroom lovely and super clean, and the location is perfect. You will have a great stay!

  • The best hosts we have had thus far! Beautiful home! Definitely recommend this place!

    Jeje2018-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • This was the best and most interesting Airbnb stay we have had so far. First, there is Ed Snyder — probably the warmest and most welcoming host we 've had. He was very gracious and accommodating. He had coffee ready for us in the morning. He had purchased blueberry muffins for us. And he offered to make us cauliflower quiche for breakfast. Then there's the house itself. It's in a great location in downtown St. Charles. More important, it's on the National Register of Historic Places. Built in 1841, it's the oldest brick residence in St. Charles. When Ed and his wife bought the house about five years ago, it was in tear-down condition. Ed had been a professional carpenter and builder for more than 40 years, so he and his wife spent the following years carefully, lovingly, and professionally restoring the house. The result: When you walk in, you feel you're entering an earlier time. From the furniture they've chosen to the cabinetry, from the wall paper to the art on the walls and shelves — everything is beautifully done. Apart from a few giveaways — like the TV displays in the bedrooms and the elegant tile and glass shower — you could easily think you'd time traveled to the 1800s. There's a reasonable possibility that Abraham Lincoln stayed there. If you have the time, ask Ed the story about how he did all this. You might also ask him about some of the unusual goings-on related to this historic structure. He's a wonderful teller of tales.

    Craig2018-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • The host canceled this reservation 17 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.

    I2018-09-11T00:00:00Z
  • Ed goes above and beyond expectations as a host. His very unique and historic home is one block from the restaurants, bars, and music on main street and is 2 blocks from the river. The bed was comfortable, the room quiet and the hospitality and helpfulness was exceptional. We really enjoyed our visit and would love to return!

    Sara2019-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • I enjoyed my stay here, comfortable bed and great bathroom with strong shower. The accommodations are much more private than one would expect, as the people live in the back of the house mostly and you are staying in the front of the house. It was nice to have that much space to myself, but it also felt a little strange, as there are hooks on the doors that prevent you from going into the kitchen or other areas that are not the front of the house. I saw the host on check in, and then not again, although people were home, because the accommodations were really separate. So then I assumed it didn’t matter what time I left, and I left a little bit earlier than I had originally told him. It turned out he had prepared some light breakfast for me for the final morning as a surprise, but I totally missed it because I left earlier. It was unfortunate, and I feel like the gesture would have worked better had there been more incidental interactions, and then I would have felt more attached to the time I had originally said. But with the living areas being really separate, it prevents those types of interactions for the most part. They do have an amazing dog, so maybe it’s because of that.

    Eve2019-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • Ed and his family were incredibly helpful. Ed was willing to pick us up from the airport if needed (45-60 minutes), provided great advice and tips to navigate the town, including the speak-easy and secret meals at the local Irish pub. We traveled to downtown Chicago and were elated to come back home to Ed's comfy home.

St Charles is a vibrant, historic town with lots of photo opportunities. Settled alongside the Fox River, it combines a picturesque downtown with nature. We are spoiled by having not only this town so close, we also have historic Geneva and Batavia that are equally worth a visit. We love where we live and would love to share it with you. The property is on a 3/4 acre lot with a field across the street so it's nice and green, spacious and serene. Mature trees are nice to sit under. We enjoy the best of both worlds, a little rural yet so close to everything with a 5 minute drive to grocery stores, Geneva Commons, Costco, Otter Cove Water Park, bike trails, soccer fields and downtown St Charles.
  • The apartment is outstanding! The hosts have thought of every detail to make their guests satisfied and comfortable. A private deck with a grill. A kitchen stocked with food and snacks and a dishwasher. A modern bathroom with the best shower. Washer and dryer. A peaceful, quiet setting. I could go on and on.

  • This was my second time staying at Susanna's place. I really enjoy having a bit of a home away from home to unwind in a peaceful and quiet place that is still easy to get to and close to both the quaint St. Charles and Geneva. Susanna and Marlon are amazing hosts who go out of their way to make their guests feel welcome. The space is adorable and cozy and well appointed. I expect to return, again, when I need to recharge my batteries.

  • Susanna was such a great host and the apartment was great in every aspect. We would definitely stay again

    Jasmine2017-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • Where to even begin. I wish I could give this 30 stars. You know where it says pick a favorite thing that stood out: fast communication, stylish space, thoughtful touches, sparking clean, outstanding hospitality? This place has it all. First up the space. It's a great little apartment in a basement. Perfect size for 2 people, updated everything, completely private and great touches. Nice notes, great local recommendations for food, snacks in the pantry and fridge. And on and on. Impeccabile directions to the place, too. Special shout out to THE most comfortable bed we've ever slept in at an Airbnb. Next up, the hospitality. Susanna and Marlon went above and beyond. We stayed in very late April and there was an unexpected snowstorm. Being Texans unfamiliar with that, we thought we'd still head out to grab a bite. We really have no idea what we're doing and probably shouldn't have been out in the snow. Get this, the husband, Marlon was out shoveling the driveway for us as we are leaving. Starts the car for us to get it warm, scrapes the car off and gives me the scraper to take with us. And even offers me a coat because I didn't pack well. And they gave us instructions on how to drive in snow. Literal life savers. All went well and we just had a fantastic weekend getaway. I hope to be back and can't really highly recommend this Airbnb enough. Stay here if you're in the St Charles or Geneva area. Or even few more miles away. Totally worth a few minutes extra drive to stay at this spot. We hope to be back one day. Thanks again for everything.

    Timothy2019-04-29T00:00:00Z
  • I can't think what more could be offered to make my first Air BnB experience so wonderful. I'm traveling the upper Midwest selling my sculptures at art fairs and really enjoy a nice quiet place to recoup from a long hard day. To save on expenses, I prefer to do my own cooking even if it is just microwaved. Not many hotels/motels offer such a simple amenity. This little garden level gem needs to be experienced first hand to truly appreciate all the luxury amenities packed into such a cozy space from a full featured microwave to a four burner oven/stove top. The appliances are all first rate along with the furnishings. I was even able to wash my own clothes in the full sized washer/dryer setup tucked into it's own closet! Susanna and her husband will give you as much attention as you desire, or just let you have some quiet "me time" as needed. For me, the quiet location in a rural type setting just 4 miles outside of downtown was ideal. If I return to next year's art fair, Susanna's place will be at the top of my list for accommodations.

Welcome to "St. Geneva"! I call it that because of the home's ideal location between 2 gorgeous and quaint towns-St. Charles and Geneva. Between the two towns there's plenty of shopping and night life to be had. The home is located along The Fox River. Just cross the two way street to access miles of biking/walking trails. Feel free to trolley 2 kayaks over to the launch just a couple blocks away. Walk to the farmer’s market for fresh food to prepare in the fully equipped kitchen.
The house is cozy with beautiful views of the parks and river. Guests have free access to 2 kayaks, 2 fishing poles and 1 bicycle. There are 3 dedicated parking spots located behind the garage. Feel free to park in the driveway also (left side, all the way up to the garage). It's a 124 year-old home with recent upgrades. Enjoy!
The neighborhood is mature with lots of large trees and beautiful parks. At the back is the Fox River with a two way street between the house and river and just to the south is a park that at one time was a Civil War training camp. Just across the river is a beautiful park with tress, walking trails, basketball courts, and children’s play set. Great for cleansing morning walks. The neighbor to my north is very quiet. Shopping and dining are awesome both in Geneva and St. Charles. Fests and fairs are a large part of both towns. Some of Arcada Theatre general acts this year include: tribute bands, comedians, oldies bands, and murder mystery dinners. Particular artists include: Jon Anderson, Lou Gramm, Ben Vereen, and Rob Schneider. For a different turn on live local theatre, the small yet charming Steel Beam Theatre in St Charles is a must. The Paramount Theatre, located in Aurora and just 30 minutes away, hosts broadway style musicals and plays. 10 minutes from Lamplight Equestrian Center. 7 minutes from The Q Center. If you want to visit Chicago, there is a train station in Geneva that will get you there.
  • We came for a girls weekend and this was the perfect place! Lovely furnishings, great coffee, a basket of goodies (including popcorn and chocolate chip bread), bottle of wine, lovely setting by the river, comfy beds, lovely linens. Michael was very welcoming and checked in by text to make sure we were doing OK. We can’t wait to come back!

    Betsy2019-01-21T00:00:00Z
  • Michael's home was perfect! We were in town for a horse show at Lamplight Equestrian Center during a very hot weekend. Michael's place was an oasis after 12 hour days at the barn. Going to a home at night instead of a hotel was so restorative. There are no words to describe how comfortable the beds are! You have to experience to understand. Michael greeted us upon arriving and gave us a quick tour. Was very quick to respond to the few questions that we had. A great host! Would definitely recommend.

    Susan2019-07-21T00:00:00Z
  • Michael's home is clean, beautifully decorated and well equipped. We were in town for our daughters wedding and he was kind enough to let us use his property as "bride central." His home and the location made for beautiful pre- wedding photos! We enjoyed being able to walk to town for dinner and stroll along the Fox River. Michael is a kind, generous and thoughtful host, and there was no detail he didn't think of. A GREAT stay!

    Dianne2018-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • Michael was bit to hands on as far as constantly being around while we stayed at the house. He had a very long garage sale in the front yard of the home on Saturday when we were trying to enjoy the “entire home” we paid to rent. He lives upstairs which I wouldn’t have signed up for it I knew.

    Mike2019-04-28T00:00:00Z
  • Michael’s place was everything we needed! We were in town for a wedding and while staying here we were able to walk to brunch spots within 15 minutes, lounge in the yard and relax in an extremely clean and stylish home. Michael made check-in super easy and even made a point to stop by and say hello when we arrived. If ever in the area again, we will absolutely be staying here!

  • Spacious, quiet and comfortable!

    Jennifer2018-07-01T00:00:00Z
  • Clean, stylish, and versatile. This quaint and cozy apartment is newly renovated and updated and has everything you need for a comfortable stay. The location is amazing, right across the street from the river and a big park on the other side. The views out the big living room window are vibrant and serene. The bedrooms are small but two of the three beds fold up to give extra space. Modern amenities abound with a bluetooth lock on the door so you don't need a key, nice newer gas stove, sleek bar area, stylish living room couch, and funky bathroom nightlight. This place has everything you need for a fun and enjoyable stay.

  • The space is incredible. A completely revitalized and modernized home that's close to all the perks of downtown St. Charles. Ed is unbelievably hospitable. Between pancakes and bloody Mary's in the morning to his knowledge of his historic home, I would recommend anyone stay here.

    Matt2018-04-29T00:00:00Z
  • This refined style of this historic home is absolutely fantastic!! Walkable to everything! Gorgeous neighborhood and home. Walking in was like turning back time in a very good way. The decor respected the history of the home, yet updated rain shower in the bathroom for instance mixed modern with classic tastefully. Great experience at such an unheard of value for the area. Definitely, recommend and hope to return.

We live in the home and this is our primary residence. We offer up to 3 bedrooms each with a queen bed. Book 1 room or all 3 for larger groups. Your stay will be a peaceful retreat in a 5 star luxury environment. Our lovely neighborhood is a short walk to restaurants & shops.
Our cozy, quiet home is centrally located in the Fox Valley area. Our suburban neighborhood is a close walk to both Geneva & St. Charles. Both gorgeous villages have many festivals, quaint shops, restaurants, pubs, movie theater/cinema. To visit downtown Chicago, there is a local train which runs often throughout the day. Saint Charles is a wonderful place to visit and have fun. We actually feel as though we're on vacation every day! It’s a small, trendy river town with amenities that appeal to everyone: biking, running, walking, hiking, golfing, horseback riding, kayaking, wine tastings and incredible shopping. At night, have a glass of wine and restore yourself with a fabulous meal at one of our city's many celebrated restaurants, bars, clubs and local theaters…all literally minutes away. Saint Charles was voted the "best town to live in and ranked number one in the United States" by Family Circle Magazine. We offer a light continental breakfast each morning, as well as water and chocolates in each room. We have high-speed wireless Internet throughout the house. You are welcome to use our refrigerator if you bring your own food. Parking is available both in the drive and street side. Other amenities are linens and towels, bathrobe, soap, shampoo, hair dryer, lotion, iron, ironing board and fan. We’re empty-nesters who love to welcome guests & travelers from near & far. Hope you'll check us out!
Great neighborhood - very safe. Location is 45 minutes from downtown Chicago and just blocks from downtown Saint Charles, IL & downtown Geneva, IL
  • This was our first time using Airbnb, and it was awesome! Theresa and Craig's home was gorgeous and they're a delight to be around. We had a group of four businessmen and went out on a limb to rent a home instead of the usual block of hotel rooms, and to a person none of us want to rent a hotel room again if we could have experiences like we did with Theresa and Craig. If we could give them six stars, we would. Next time we're in the area we'll look them up for sure. They are friends for life!

    Timothy2015-12-19T00:00:00Z
  • My friends and I wanted a place to get together for a couple days and catch up and this was a perfect choice. Theresa and Craig allowed us some privacy to catch up with each other and yet were so lovely to visit with that it was like staying with close friends. The rooms were beautiful and welcoming. We felt like we were at a charming bed and breakfast. The restaurants and shopping options nearby were amazing, wish we could have stayed longer. This was my first Airbnb experience and I have no complaints......

    Kimberly2014-10-22T00:00:00Z
  • Theresa and Craig were lovely hosts. Enjoyed chatting in the living room upon arrival- unfortunately our stay was short n sweet. Great breakfast recommendation- Nosh! Beautiful home. Thanks!

  • Great hosts and nice home, recommended.

    Fredrick2017-04-02T00:00:00Z
  • My daughter and I stayed at Theresa and Craig's home while doing some Christmas shopping in the Chicago area. They were great hosts and the house is beautiful and comfortable. We weren't sure about the best places to eat and shop - Theresa and Craig's recommendations were perfect. They know the area well so provided good instructions for catching a train into Chicago and other things that made our trip easier. Thanks for a great weekend!

    Rebecca2014-12-15T00:00:00Z
  • Great Host and Hospitality. Home was squeaky clean and Theresa is a Gracious host. We will definitely stay with them again when in the area.

    Paul2015-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • This was our third stay with Theresa and Craig, and it now feels like we are "coming home" when we stay with them. Their welcoming hospitality, thoughtful amenities, inviting conversation areas and cheerful bedrooms are a winning combination. The location is quiet, near a wonderful riverside bike path and an easy walk to Geneva, a beautiful victorian town filled with lots of "shop small" destination shops and restaurants. We stay at 6-7 airbnb's each year and Theresa and Craig are our favorite hosts ever! We have already booked our reservations for our next visit.

    Sally2018-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • Theresa & Craig offer a fantastic experience of warm friendly support while staying in their fantastic home. This is a chance to get to know an interesting couple who have a genuine interest in getting to know their guests and helping them get the best out of their visit. The location is wonderful being in between Geneva and St Charles, two very interesting towns with a range of entertainment, shopping and dining. Walking along the Fox river of through the parks is great. Chicago city is available through a convenient local train. Every thing about this trip was great and we really enjoyed ourselves. Thanks guys :)

My place is close to the St Charles city center, Fox River/Mt. St. Mary's Park and Geneva city center, Fox River/Wheeler Park. You’ll love my place because of the coziness and the quiet neighborhood. And if you are Vegan/Raw-Vegan you'll feel right at home here! If you are not a vegan; you are welcome here if you can honor the fact that I do not allow non-vegan foods to be stored and/or cooked here. Thank you.
This space is being offered in a similar manner to a YOUTH HOSTEL. This means you could be sharing the space with 2 others of same gender. One room with 3 twin beds (bunk bed with a trundle). You will be sharing the bathroom with me, other guests and my massage clients. I DO NOT clean up after you, so please be courteous and leave every space you utilize as you found it. Thank you.
Quiet older neighborhood. My home is a post-WWII house. It is walking distance to 2 down towns, 2 parks and the Fox River with hiking/biking trails.
  • Great host! Wonderful experience!

    Alex2019-05-21T00:00:00Z
  • Maria is a wonderful host! I'm not vegan, but I never felt like I was held in contempt for it or anything like that. Don't bring non vegan food here, because Maria is a wonderful cook who provided a lot of delicious organic food. I didn't have her cook for me at every meal, but I'm sure she would have! Just be respectful and you'll be fine; she even drove me to a couple of places. She also has a really cute dog. 5 stars.

    Ian2018-05-28T00:00:00Z
  • Marie’s places is always super clean.Very warm personality at the same time always respects privacy.

    Alex2019-06-12T00:00:00Z
  • Maria is one of best host in entire AIRBNB community. I do not have words to explain her hospitality. I would give her 10 star. I stayed in AIRBNB, hotels/resorts in many countries but never saw such a welcoming place. Amazing host and incredible hospitality.

    Ravinder2018-06-23T00:00:00Z
  • This was by far my worst ever Airbnb experiece. This was a shared room. The listing said there was three beds in the room, but in reality, there was only two. The picture in shows a bunk with two beds. Maria had told me I'd be staying with one man, so I thought for sure I would get a bed close to the ground. But because there were only two beds in the room, and the other guy arrived before me, I was forced to stay on the top bunk, next to the ceiling fan. It was dangerous to be next to the ceiling fan. My head bumped into it when I climbed up the bunk. Fortunately it wasn't on then. My roommate insisted the fan be on while I slept, so I got cold and needed to use a blanket because of this. When I tried to adjust the blanket my hand hit the fan from below, while it was on. Fortunately, I didn't get injured from it. In my opinion, it's way too dangerous for a guest to stay on the top bunk when the ceiling fan is on. No future guest should ever have to deal with that. When my hand hit the fan, I said a swear word out loud. But the next morning the roommate threatened me, saying "Don't you ever use abusive language again." I didn't use "abusive" language. I wasn't cursing at the roommate. He was the only one being abusive, with his threatening hostile tone. He also complained that I was snoring and kept him up all night. No one has ever complained about my snoring in such a hostile way. I already wanted to leave the house the night before after my hand hit the ceiling fan. After my roommate threatened me, I definitely wanted to leave even more. I tried to call/ text Maria to discuss this, but before I could get a hold of her, I immediately received a text message from Airbnb saying that my host canceled the reservation, and that I would be receiving a full refund. I felt so glad about this. But then when I saw Maria, she immediately started complaining about me. She claimed that I talked loudly keeping her up. I was pretty quiet night except when me and the roommate were arguing about whether or not to have the ceiling fan on, and also when I hit my hand on the ceiling fan. She didn't seem sympathetic to what I went through. So I don't think that she will get rid of the top bunk.

  • There were 9 of us staying for a total of 6 days. We had 6 teenagers and 3 adults, and between us all spoke three languages. Our hosts and accommodation's were superb. Our hosts had a genuine interest in our experience and were always ready and happy to help with any and all needs. Our privacy was well respected and the house itself immaculate and decorated like a model home. Highly recommend this airbnb.

  • This is the second time we have stayed with Theresa and Craig (me for one night and my daughter for nine nights), and we were instantly reminded of why we came back here. They really are the most welcoming of hosts and make you feel like family. Their home is beautiful and as lovely St. Charles was at the beginning of spring, it is even more so in summer. Staying with Theresa and Craig would only enhance your visit to this lovely town!

The east side of Geneva is quiet and friendly. You're welcome to the backyard with grill and patio. Shared bathroom w/ soaking tub, laundry room & gourmet kitchen access. Shared refrigerator. Walking distance from downtown Geneva where you can shop til you drop, train to Chicago, many great restaurants, & miles of bike paths. Shared space.
A quiet neighborhood. Just up from the river and miles of Prairie Bike Path. A walk into a charming town filled with shops and restaurants. Or jump on the train into Chicago for the day. Geneva is know for it's great chocolate shops, fine dining, bars and jazz club, & enough shops 'til you drop. My house is just off some of the best biking in the Midwest. I also have a garden apartment I rent in the lower level. I'm an empty-nester (mother of three) who would like to welcome travelers and guests to the town everyone wishes they lived in or could go for a weekend away.
I live on the "tree house" street. My street dead-ends, so the traffic is minimal. Lots of dog walking, runners and bikers, just up from the amazing Prairie Bike Path. If you like quiet walks along a river, this will be your happy place!
  • Nancy is a remarkably gracious host. She welcomed me into her home and perfectly balanced spending time with and giving me privacy. I was on Geneva attending a conference and my friends who stayed in hotels wished they'd made the choice i did.

    Gracie2014-05-26T00:00:00Z
  • What a great little getaway! Nancy was a great hostess and my room was clean, quiet, and comfortable. The house is in easy walking distance to downtown Geneva -- lots of shops and restaurants, too. I will definitely recommend this to my friends and family!

    Frank2019-05-22T00:00:00Z
  • Nancy is a great host!!! My son and I felt "at home" all weekend. Coffee was offered each morning, and other "treats" were readily available in our rooms. My mentally disabled son has continued to talk about her ever since we got home. He keeps telling me what a "nice lady" she is and how excited he is to spend time at her home again. Nancy made it very easy to access her home, to accommodate our busy schedule throughout the weekend. We were able to come and go as we needed, never making us feel like strangers.

    Ej2015-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I stayed at Nancy's house while attending a wedding at Heritage Prairie Farms. Nancy was incredibly gracious. She greeted us with wine, made coffee for us in the morning, and shared in a spirited conversation. She is an amazing host. Added to this, her charming house is a ten minute walk away from downtown Geneva. We also took advantage of her bikes and rode up and down the Fox River. This area also a great getaway for Chicagoans who are looking to commune with nature!

    Sonya2014-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • Nancy is a wonderful and genuine hostess. We had many engaging conversations and she was very helpful with suggestions of things to see and do in Geneva and the surrounding area. Her home is beautiful and relaxing. I hope to return to experience her gourmet cooking and take in more of Chicago (and actually use her bikes to ride the bike path!) Thank you Nancy for making my visit to Geneva a relaxing and memorable one.

    Jeff2014-06-30T00:00:00Z
  • Nancy was the perfect host - friendly, helpful, accommodating. The place was as described and very comfortable. There was ample space. The bed was firm. The location was great - near the restaurants and shops, near Island Park (where the Fox Valley Folk Festival was held), and near bike trails. Nancy was flexible with arrival time and departure time, which was great for us. We had a very pleasant and relaxing weekend. We'll be back!

  • You will love staying in this beautiful home in St. Charles! Bev’s home was spotless. It was so comfortable and peaceful. The guest rooms are upstairs so there is plenty of privacy. The bed and pillows were comfortable and there were plenty of plush towels in the bathrooms. The host left a few bottles of water which we appreciated since we don’t drink tap water. And we had access to the kitchen if we needed to use it. It was also within walking distance to downtown St. Charles. Which was a plus since we both love walking. We would definitely stay here again!

This space is being offered in a similar manner to a YOUTH HOSTEL. This means you could be sharing the space with 2 others of same gender. One room with 3 twin beds (bunk bed with a trundle) You will be sharing the bathroom with me, other guests and my massage clients. I DO NOT clean up after you, while you are here, so please be courteous and leave every space you utilize as you found it. Thank you.

  • A great stay, over any possible imagination. Me and my colleague were hosted by Maria for about a week. Every day a fruit breakfast was welcoming us making our day starting in a really nice way. Maria introduced us to St. Charles and Geneva, gave useful suggestions from weather forecast to public transportation, and even kindly offered herself to bring us to the airport for our return flight. We could not dream better!! Thanks a lot Maria and all the best for the future!

  • Maria's place is very welcoming and we'll attended, and while she was my first Airbnb experience, she completely destroyed and preconceived negative notions I had about Airbnb. Her dog is the friendliest I've ever met, and is so well behaved you might not notice when the dog enters an area. The room set up is very cozy and we'll maintained and I can easily see myself coming back. Her quiet hours are for her clients for her business, which I am likely to also use in the future.
