  • Excellent location. Stylish, cozy compact room with high c/p ratio. No desk in the room, a little inconvenience for those who have to work while staying.

  • Great host and super fast response to query

    Chee Yong2018-06-22T00:00:00Z
  • The location and price of your house were okay. But it needs a very good cleaning. We took 2 extra towels out of the closet, 1 towel each for four nights is not much. We also cleaned the toilet with desinfection tissues. That is not what guests suppost to do.

    Iris2018-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • Vitalina was a great host. She was speedy with her responses, and gave very clear directions about how to check in and out. The space was clean and nice, and we had no issues at all. Thank you Vitalina for your hospitality and thoughtfulness.

    Katie2018-01-21T00:00:00Z
  • Location is fantastic or convention at nearby hotels. Note- You may share apartment with someone who also is renting a room. Place is a bit worn. Vita was excellent in getting back with me right away with questions

My place is close to Dupont Circle, U street, Logan Circle, Downtown DC, Washington Mall, Shaw, , Studio Theatre, Chaplin’s Restaurant, ChurchKey, Sweetgreen. You’ll love my place because of the location, the neighborhood, and the people. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, and business travelers.
  • The place was in a perfect location. Plenty of things to see and do. Perfect for short trips to DC. Mayra was very easy to communicate with.

    Derek2018-03-17T00:00:00Z
  • It’s a good value for the area, but it is a bit dark, being a basement apartment. The bedroom gets morning sun, but the living area never gets any sunlight. Could be depressing for longer stays if you spend a lot of time inside! The neighborhood is wonderful though.

    Anthony2017-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • Great Host! Very attentive and accommodating to every need. Highly recommended!

    Andrew2019-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Mayra's place has a terrific location! She is highly responsive and her apartment has everything you need to spend a nice time in one of DC's finest neighborhoods.

    Egina2017-04-12T00:00:00Z
  • I definitely enjoyed my time at this AirBnB. I used to live in DC and it felt like I was back at home in my old neighborhood. The apartment is perfect size for 1 or two people. The Apple TV was a cool (and unexpected) bonus to the living room and the wi-fi was very reliable. I also enjoyed how centrally located the space is.

    Richard2017-01-06T00:00:00Z
  • Mayra was a wonderful host. We didn't get to meet her in person but she kept an open communication with us before and during our trip. Check in/out was very easy and she was very flexible with the time. Her place looks exactly like the pictures! It was very clean and organized. Logan circle is a great location. We walked to the national mall, u-street, dupont circle, and downtown easily during our trip.

    Ashley2016-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • This apartment was a perfect fit for my time in DC! The location is excellent and the apartment has everything you need. Mayra was an extremely accommodating and helpful host. I would highly recommend her apartment for any housing needs in DC!

    Karoline & Hamza2017-12-24T00:00:00Z
  • Small apartment, good for one or two people for a few days. Host does not communicate well. Sends incoherent emails (I thought there were two people sending them separately) and does not seem to read or understand emails sent by guest explaining issues. Got very angry at me and demanded I bring the key back early as she was leaving town. I had to take a cab to where she told me to bring the key, then leave it under a rock. I followed the instructions and sent her a photo. She never acknowledged it. Then claimed she did not get the key. I'd find a less volatile host.

This unique apt in Logan Circle is literally blocks away from downtown dc. Is located in a very quiet building and at the same time close to exciting areas like U st, Dupont Circle, Chinatown, and Historic part of DC. There is Metro and bus access
Enjoy a very nice one bedroom apt and private bath in Logan Circle DC! between M and N streets NW. The apt is steps away from downtown dc, Massachusetts ave., New York Ave., Chinatown, Shaw U street, Dupont Circle and the historic part of DC.
  • The location was good, not too much going on on the street but easy walking distance to a lot of things including metro, 14th street and about 10 mins to grocery store. Communication between me and the host could have been a little quicker but not too bad. There were quite a few bugs in the apartment...not sure how/where they were getting in. Great air conditioning for the hot August weather!

    Kenna2016-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • Functional and inexpensive. Great location. Great communication. It’s a basement unit and DC is not a clean city. Be prepared to deal with trash bins, trash blowing down the stairwell, mildew, and people taking over the parking space. Otherwise, a bargain. The gem was the Michelin Star Mexican restaurant three blocks away!!

    Vanessa2018-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing location!!! You can’t beat it. It’s a great price for the location! I stayed there for 2 and a half months. It had all I need it. It has a washer and dryer, which help a lot! I think it can easily fit 2 people, as there is a bedroom downstairs, which I never used. Has a tv with Apple TV and good internet connection. I am Actually staying in January here too. Thanks mayra!

    Felix2017-12-21T00:00:00Z
  • Loved my stay. Cozy place in a great area.

    Keith2016-04-26T00:00:00Z
  • Communication and accuracy were great. Mayra was extremely communicative and even allowed me to extend my stay at the last minute. The one thing to note is that there were a few roaches, weird bugs, and a bit of dust coming out of the vents. Outside of that I would say4.5/5! Would stay here again.

    Aaron2016-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • Mayra's place near Logan Circle has a perfect location! Walking distance to the convention center, Logan Circle, DuPont Circle and downtown (if you're up for it!). The place was very clean and the check in process was easy. Even though it doesn't face the street, there was some car activity right outside so if you're a light sleeper just FYI. Otherwise fabulous location and wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

    Stefania2016-09-27T00:00:00Z
  • Mayra was a great host! Seamless check-in and check-out process. The location is fantastic -- close to metro station and tons of great restaurants/bars. Thanks for a great stay in DC!

    Charlie2019-03-22T00:00:00Z
  • The location is superb! The stairs can be a little tricky and there wasn't an airbed or similar in the second room, meaning a large amount of space went unused. Kitchen was really useful, but lacked a microwave or toaster. Space is cozy and the bed in comfy. I'd bring an eye mask as the streetlight through the window is very bright. Had some really unfortunate pest problems that took longer than I would have hoped to resolve. I was there for three months and only two weeks were affected.

  • This was a perfect place to crash before an early flight out, quick access to Yellow line to airport. There are two bedrooms, both have their own keycode locks, shared common space / bathroom, and all was tidy and tasteful.

  • I can assure this place is exactly as described! Everything went smoothly during my stay at Donna's. The room suited my needs perfectly but what I liked the most is it is so conveniently located within central DC (the metro is just 2 blocks away, there are two big grocery shops within walking distance and it's pretty close to DC main tourist's attraction and nightlife neighborhoods. 5/5 would recommend!

Comfortable, cute, cozy and fully separate eclectic studio apartment with queen-sized bed, dining/living area, kitchen with amenities (no full stove) & wifi. Located around the corner from the DC Convention Center and Shaw metro station. With amazing restaurants and bars within walking distance and proximity to great neighborhoods such as Chinatown and Logan Circle. You’ll be sure to enjoy your stay with us.
The studio apartment is in a super fun and vibrant part of the city with plenty of street traffic, pedestrians, and socialization. Therefore, no guarantee of zero noise pollution to peace and tranquility seekers. It's a basement unit and during the DC humidity there is a dehumidifier and air purifier that runs continually. The apartment would not be a good fit for those with allergies or noise sensitivities. You will get a great feel for the Shaw neighborhood by staying here. There are amazing restaurants, bars, bakeries, and coffee shops within feet of the apartment entrance. There is a large grocery store two blocks away. Please ask for recommendations - we are more than happy to point you in many great directions! The apartment is easily accessible by bus and metro -- you can get to any part of the city within minutes. If you prefer to walk or bike, notable spots like the National Mall and Smithsonian Museums are within a mile. We have a strict No Smokers requirement. Absolutely no smoking or any other smoking-like-activities on or near the property. We take pride in keeping our property and by extension, our neighborhood clean. This is a strictly enforced policy and any violation will result in the stay getting cancelled without a refund and an additional charge for all the costs involved in remediation. If you absolutely have to smoke, please utilize the area across the street near the parking lot and be sure to clean up after yourselves.
Shaw is a fantastic area to be in. There are so many new, fun, and exciting nooks to explore (check out Blagden Alley). Easily walk-able to nearby Chinatown or 14th St. for more great food and drink explorations.
  • This was the perfect location for me since I wanted to be within a mile or so walking distance from the sites and people I wanted to visit.

    Alicia2018-04-18T00:00:00Z
  • This place was super cute and in a great location to walk to the convention center and metro. Very cute places around to eat. Absolutely loved my stay!

    Ashley2018-05-19T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment location is excellent. The place is cozy and nice. The host is friendly, helpful, and so responsive!

  • Ilissa made the check in, check out process super simple and the property was clean and centrally located. Great host!

    Kristin2019-07-12T00:00:00Z
  • The location is great. It was easy to get around from here. There's a great coffee place just around the corner, Columbe coffee. There was an inexpensive cafe for breakfast /lunch on 10th called Cozy Cafe. And Imm Thai on 9th was good. And if you like to walk, the National Mall is not far. If you'd rather ride, the 79 bus to the National Archive is easy. It's a little loud with city sounds. It didn't bother me at all, but if you're looking for solitude you might be disappointed. I personally would stay here again if I visit DC in the future.

    Art2018-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful location with great amenities within walking distance.

Just 1.5 blocks from the Shaw/Howard U. Metro, this modern English basement apt. with gas fireplace & high ceilings is a walkable spot to a gourmet grocery store, bars, restaurants, the Convention Center, and Chinatown. The home has exposed brick, Bosch appliances, heated bathroom floor--just 5 metro stops to the White House, the Mall and museums. The Shaw neighborhood is vibrant, constantly changing and full of diversity and young people. A great value with an experienced & DC-licensed host!
You won't feel like you're in an English basement! Cozy up by the fireplace in the winter and enjoy the cool pad in the summer. Since this is a basement, please note my disclosures below in "other things to note." I personally refurbished this 140-year-old property with one of D.C.'s hottest architects. You can trust that I have taken great care to provide you with fine amenities and attention to detail. This 625 sq. ft. apartment is very comfortable for four people, with two in the bedroom and two others could sleep on the pull-out, queen-sized sofa. There are also 2 single Aerobed blow-up mattresses. If you are traveling as a family, I would consider more than 4 people, but it would be tight. If you need just one night's stay, contact me and we can work something out. I've priced the apartment very competitively using the variable rates AirBnB suggests, based on the time of year. The actual daily cost may be higher or lower than the standard daily rate advertised, but you will always feel like you're getting your money's worth compared to any hotel in DC. If you've used AirBnB before, you know you have to lower expectations just a bit as a budget-conscious traveler (but not too much with this apartment). I also tend to book up fast during peak seasons. Any dates that are grayed out on the calendar you see are booked by other guests. This apartment is a dedicated rental, 365 days a year. I can almost always allow guests to drop their bags after 12:00 noon, but the maid will need a 2-hour window to clean, which can be as late as 5 p.m.
Shaw is the hottest neighborhood in DC right now. There's a great city vibe with nearby bars and restaurants, including a great beer garden 1.5 blocks away. A new gourmet grocery store is only 4 blocks away--a nice stroll through the historic Shaw neighborhood. The colorful row houses were all built at the turn-of-the-century--a classic feature of D.C. Two take-outs are across the street: Chinese and Mediterranean/Indian will do in a pinch, and a 24-hour 7-11 is a block away.

Great location as well, within walking distance to the metro and several restaurants. Everything you might need to know is provided and Alan is a very communicative and great host. • Great Location. Clean and tidy Alan was very helpful with most things. We can not believe that no one put about the loud air conditioner in the bedroom that sounded like a cloths dryer going all night. We were told to wear ear plugs or sleep on the couch. We think people should no about this before they stay. Also to pay a cleaning fèe and then asked to empty the dishwasher and put it on.Wash the sheets and towels as well as put the rubbish out.Why are we paying a fee we we are doing half the work.....

  • 5 stars across the board. Mohammed was a highly communicative, conscientious host. It was everything I needed for a quick work trip to DC: clean, secure, reliable, quiet, comfortable, and a great value for the location. Great home base for long days out.

  • Prompt communication. If you are a traveling consultant as I am, he was very helpful on letting me get my luggage after left client site for the day. Been in DC on a contract for a week and was the best place I stayed so far. Kudos to the host.

My apartment is a small, older studio located in the heart of downtown Washington, D.C. Just a 15-minute walk to the famous National Mall, the studio is located in D.C.'s Shaw neighborhood, flooded with restaurants, bars, coffee shops and more. There really is no better location in D.C. The apartment is small but it is extremely functional. There is no kitchen to cook meals but I will be happy to provide coffee/tea. There is no parking on the premise but street parking is available.
There is no kitchen but I will always provide coffee/tea and light snacks. I have a 75 inch TV, with an Amazon Firestick that you will have access to if you need to relax. The bathroom is big and has all the necessities (shower, sink, toilet, etc.) and I will provide towels, toilet paper, and basic shower toiletries. I have a work desk you can use for your needs and drawers and a closet for your belongings. An ironing machine and iron board are also available
The studio is located in the center of downtown Washington, D.C. in the Shaw neighborhood. It is a 15 minute walk to the National Mall and all Smithsonian Museums. Three blocks away in D.C.'s famous 14th St. that is full of amazing restaurants, bars, clubs, coffee shops, shopping, everything! My favorite restaurant there is Ghibellina - a small, cozy Italian restaurant with an adorable windowsill bar. In addition, two blocks away is D.C.'s famous City Center - a beautiful retail destination that takes up three blocks. I recommend Centrolina in City Center - a coffee shop by day and restaurant by night!
  • Nice, cozy place in a great neighborhood.

    Bülent2019-07-10T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing location, it is only a few blocks down from a ton of restaurants and places to shop in a nice neighborhood. Also for touring any of capital mall it is a quick cheap scooter ride away. Would highly recommend it.

  • Nice place and great location, would stay here again.

  • I would not recommend you booking this place to stay. You can find a hotel room using Hotel Tonight for the same cost or even less. I had a terrible experience with this place, the whole unit smelt like mold or mildew. Her communication was not the greatest.

Enjoy downtown D.C. from our new studio apartment near 14th and U Streets! Minutes from everything— features private entrance from plant-filled porch, queen bed, and deluxe private bathroom and kitchenette. Modern, bright, and charming studio apartment has private entrance from alley and parking area. Morning sun streams in the east window over the dining table (seats two, but let us know if you're hosting and we can provide extra chairs). Couch under the exposed brick wall is a queen-sized, top-of-the-line "Night and Day" sleeper bed that's as comfortable as a fixed bed and can be folded up without removing sheets. Brand new, private, modern kitchenette has everything you need whether you want to make tea and toast in the morning, or a four-course meal. Flat-screen 40" television is connected to Apple TV, with access to our Netflix account. Wifi is included, and the unit has its own thermostat and heating / AC for your comfort any time of year. Enter the apartment from the private alley entrance through a modernist, plant-filled porch that surrounds the apartment - offering peace and quiet in the city. The apartment is a private suite closed off from our house. We'll leave the keys out for you but just knock or call if there is anything you need! The apartment is in the U Street corridor, with dozens of great restaurants, bars, and music venues and clubs. Logan Circle is nearby, where you can relax or begin the historic self-guided walking tour and explore the area's African American history. You'll be a five-minute walk (really) from the U Street metro stop (green line) and bus lines serving downtown, Georgetown, Union Station and more. We're also near several Capital Bikeshare stations, and many other car, bike, and scooter sharing services are in the neighborhood.
  • Nazgol was very responsive to our requests and welcoming in her e-mails. It was easy to "check in" on our own with the instructions provided and we found the studio even more attractive than we expected - very tastefully decorated with high quality furnishings and finishes, small but efficiently laid out. The sofa bed had an excellent mattress for sleeping and the kitchenette was great for our breakfasts. The entrance is away from the street on a quiet alley and the neighborhood is nice with the exciting 14th street corridor nearby, with good restaurants, cafes, an oyster bar, a Trader Joe's, bookstores, etc. We could hear through the walls the sounds of the family living in the rest of the house, but it was never objectionable. I highly recommend this studio.

    Paul2014-06-03T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice, modern apartment. Everything was perfectly prepared. Even before we arrived, Nazgol sent us a very good description of how to get to the apartment, where to buy food and all the good to know things for making our stay as comfortable as possible! We can really recommend this place!

    Cathrin2014-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • Stayed here for 4 nights and it was absolutely brilliant! Everything was exactly how it had been described and the accommodation was super clean and very functional. Nazgol was lovely when I spoke with her and quick to respond. Would definitely stay here again when next in DC! Thanks for a lovely stay

    Kate2016-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • A small space, but had everything I needed! The bathroom was spacious, the kitchen & bath had plenty of supplies, and the bed was remarkably comfortable for a pull-out couch. I could occasionally hear sounds from the hosts' home, but nothing that wasn't easily canceled out by a white noise machine. I have a hard time interacting with strangers, so I was pleased that the hosts were willing to follow my lead re: interactions (in other words, I pretty much hid and pretended I wasn't there for most of my visit, and the hosts were kind enough to leave me alone)!

    Elissa2018-04-14T00:00:00Z
  • The location and the room itself were just awesome. However, I prefer to be warned about the loud neighbors in advance, and having kids just across the thin room is something that can ruin the sleep despite all the jet lag :(

    Kasia2017-12-14T00:00:00Z
  • Nazgol's apartment was perfect for us, clean, charming, well-located and had every thing we need to cook. We really felt like we were at home. We didn't meet Nazgol but she explained every thing by email, where to eat, where is supermarket, how to use TV. Every thing was very easy for us. We had a very pleasant stay. Thanks a lot Nazgol.

    Anne-Laure2014-09-05T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely people who do whatever they can to help you. Great value in a good location to see DC. They have 2 lovely kids who were so quiet. We were shocked at how well behaved they are,

    Glen2018-06-18T00:00:00Z
  • The studio is just cosy and very well organized. The hosts are nice and helpful. As it was my first time in DC, I also appreciated the 14th St and the U Street, both lot of nice spots. Don't forget to have diner at Duke (on U St), an excellent ethiopian restaurant. Very positive experience. I warmly recommend both the studio and the area.

My house is located in the Shaw Neighborhood, better known as the heart of Washington, DC. I LOVE MY LOCATION. Surrounded by an assortment of restaurants, pubs, cafes, a beer garden, coffee-houses, carry-outs, & if you want to cook your own meals the grocery store is in the next block. Yet, with all this activity the neighborhood is well-lit, safe and relatively quiet on a metropolitan street. I have easy access to everything including, public transportation (trains, buses & planes).
There are no separate bedrooms, like most studios, it is one large clean room with amazing flooring, a queen size bed, several pillows, clean linen, extra blanket, a large closet with shelves for your things, an iron & full-size ironing board, a comfortable chair & ottoman to read or watch TV on a 40" adjustable HD TV with cable/streaming ability or sign-in to your own Netflix account, a workspace for a laptop, Wi-Fi, a small, yet, full kitchen, with new stainless steel appliances, pots & pans, dishes & silverware, a washer & dryer and a mid-size refrigerator, a clean bathroom with a spacious shower, no tub, clean towels, soap & small cups for mouth wash. The entire space is separate from the rest of the house, comfortable for no more than 2, GREAT for one. ONE OR TWO OCCUPANTS ONLY PLEASE.
Shaw is submerged in African-American History, named after the Civil War Colonel Robert Gould Shaw who was an American soldier in the Union Army during the American Civil War. He led the first all-black regiment. The neighborhood Shaw grew out of a freed slave military camp. Duke Ellington was born and lived in Shaw. The U Street Corridor became known as the “Black Broadway”. Big name stars played at nearby theaters that are still standing like the Howard Theater where Marvin Gaye played and many well-known performers. The six days of riots that erupted in Washington, D.C., following the assassination of civil rights activist Martin Luther King Jr. on April 4, 1968, leaving 7th Street & the U Street corridor in ruins. The U Street corridor did not begin to recover economically until the opening of the U Street and Columbia Heights Metro stations in 1991 and 1999. Slowly, DC started changing from a widely held African American City to the current redevelop, flourishing, revitalize Shaw. There is an adage that says, “Change is inevitable Growth is optional”. Today, the Shaw neighborhood’s row houses remain, including the attractive Victorian houses, tucked amid the in vogue places currently on the scene.
  • The place is exactly as advertised, very clean, very well located and very comfortable. There is a supermarket 2 blocks away. Jackie was always availiable and it was easy to move around the city from the studio. Quiet and safe neighborhood from what I saw

    Sandra2019-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • Really neat and big apartment that offers everything you might need. Communication is nice and efficient. Close to a metro station.

    Gwendolyn2019-09-07T00:00:00Z
  • This was a great place to stay and enjoy seeing the DC area. The location was really perfect, a great neighborhood near Metro and Buses. Easy walking into the downtown area. The studio was very comfortable with all we needed as a couple to be comfortable, prepare a couple meals and plan our day trips around. Some great restaurants (Chaplin's) and Trader Joes nearby. We could Metro from the airport (DCA) to within 2 blocks. Jackie is available if needed. Would highly recommend this and we will be back when next in DC.

The Metro station is close and the neighbourhood is really nice and friendly. I will definitely suggest her place for future accupants.

  • Jackie's studio was fantastic! She was very hospitable. The location was fantastic; it was close to the metro, a few stops away from the monuments and museums, and close to many restaurants and cafes. We would definitely stay here again!

  • Jackie is an absolutely great host. Her place was clean and tidy. She provided a lot of tips for tourist attractions as long with great restaurant ideas. She is very helpful if you have questions about the studio. I felt right at home, literally. This location is down two blocks from the Metro which takes you straight to the museums.

Great location!!! Historic 1864 tree-lined Ridge Street hosts this 2 level rowhouse; central AC. 2 blocks to the Convention Center and 7th St/Mt Vernon Sq METRO. Walkable to Verizon Center events. Early drop off of bags is allowed, as well as option to store bags after checkout.

  • The building is close to shops and restaurants in the Mount Vernon area. The door has a smart lock, making check-in really easy (you will not need to pick up a key). While I never met the host, she was available by phone for any questions. I spend one night at the house during a weekend trip to visit friends who were staying in the neighborhood, and the place was perfect for this. Two things to note: - Bring earplugs. Sound from the ground-floor TV carries straight into the bedroom. - During my stay, the lock to the bathroom would get stuck. The gap between the door and the jamb is wide enough to manipulate the latch with a card or similar, but be careful!

  • Donna is great! When I arrived her lovely place the 1st day, she showed her kindness and enthusiastic. I was careless that I locked my keys in my bedroom but she rescued my as soon as she can without taking rest. She drove me to the downtown as well, though she was tired after work but she was so kind to treat you well. Btw, the location is great you will love it! Highly recommended if you choose to stay in D.C.

  • It's a cozy little house at a great location. Walking distance to downtown, but it's too cold in winter so we drove. Easy to park too! Digital lock to check in/out. Easy to operate. The host doesn't live there, but very responsive to message.

  • This is an incredibly central location in DC, and very comfortable and clean. Street parking is very abundant, and it’s close to the highways for easy in and out of DC.

    Linda2018-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • Very good location. The place is very neat and having a coffee machine (instead of perculator) made a difference. We didn't use the kitchen but looked well kitted out. The bed was comfy, but the room is small and for a longer stay it may get cramped if you don't want to share the communial areas.

    Marie-Louise2019-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • I only stayed one night, but had a great experience & would definitely stay again, as well as highly recommend it to others! Donna was prompt, friendly, & clear with communication & was open to letting me store luggage before or after check-in/out while site-seeing. The location & short distance to the National Mall area is great, especially for the really reasonable price! It's only a few blocks from the Metro, which is only a couple stops from everything. As a solo female traveler, I also felt very safe in the neighborhood & at the Airbnb. In addition, everything was clean with nice little extras. Thank you, Donna!

  • This apt. was in a great location in downtown DC. Near Chinatown, you have good access to some really cool bars and restaurants. We were able to walk to the mall to do the museum tours. The apt. itself is very nice. Diana left us some maps and ideas for touristy stuff while we we're in town. She was very accommodating overall. She provided the parking pass needed (all DC is street parking) and was really easy to talk to for any questions once we arrive. I would highly recommend staying here for a long weekend trip.

  • Mohammed's place was exactly as described: clean, modest, and quiet. Located at a very convenient distance from the city's main attractions, it was an excellent base for day trips - all at a very reasonable price. The check-in and check-out were both seamless; in fact we were able to check in a bit earlier than the check-in time, which was very helpful. Mohammed himself was very kind, quick, and responsive to our questions and requests. Overall, I'd very much recommend both the place and the host, and look forward to staying with Mohammed in the future.

    Simon2019-07-08T00:00:00Z
  • Mohammed's place is very well located and easy to find. There's a store right next door, so it's very practical. The room was huge and very well furnished. Mohammed is communicating with you and making sure everything is good. So in general, it's a great place, the bathroom could have been cleaner the first day, but apart from that I would stay again at this place.

  • Mohammad was a fantastic host. He was quick to respond, willing to handle changes to our schedule and accommodate a couple extra requests. I couldn't recommend staying here more.

  • Mohammed's place was great, affordable, and clean. He had waters for us in the fridge upon our arrival and it made a huge difference while we explored Washington DC!

  • This location is a simple, clean, no frills place to stay while visiting DC. The stairs are steep and may be difficult for those with mobility issues. Otherwise, everything is with in walking distance and there is even a small convenience store next door to purchase amenities.

  • This is an amazing place, 15 mins out of all the happening parts of DC. We were here mostly to see all the monuments and museums and Thang’s place is ideally located from them. Not to close and not to far. Additionally Thang is super nice and was always available if we needed anything. He went out of his way to ensure that we were comfortable and having a good time. Would love to stay here, if I am back in DC.

    Vipul2017-12-28T00:00:00Z
  • My favorite thing about staying at Thang’s place was the amazing location it is in walking distance of the cooler areas of DC without being in the crazy hustle of the middle of the city. It really felt like home and Thang was so kind and showed us great places to eat! 10/10 would go again!

Stay with us in the basement level of a charming townhouse in the heart of DC’s Shaw neighborhood, a quick stroll to Shaw Metro stop, plus you’ll have access to our visitor parking pass for FREE on street parking for the duration of your stay!
The unit has its own private entrance, a queen sized bed, full bathroom, cable TV and internet, and a refrigerator - just like a hotel room. Whilst we don`t have a couch per se the bed is super comfy to relax and watch TV after a hard day sight seeing or working. No need for a kitchen since you are a quick walk from some of DC’s most amazing bars and restaurants.
The location is the epicenter of DC’s music and dining scene, always the place to be seen in D.C! Walk up 7th st and catch a wide range of music shows at the historic Howard Theater, or a few more blocks to the famous “9:30 Club”.  A short distance in either direction takes you to the Right Proper Brew Pub, the Shaw Tavern, Bistro Boehm, Shaw Library and a bucketful of coffee houses, fitness centers and “pop-up” eating and entertainment venues.  A few more blocks brings you the U Street Corridor and 14th St, just minutes away on foot from all the fabulous restaurants bars and shopping that this hip neighborhood has to offer. Grocery stores, pharmacy and every other essential are just a few minutes’ walk from the home.
  • This is a charming basement apartment. Bed is super comfortable. Newly and smartly furnished. In its essence a great, simple, crash pad with nice design touches and a great location to the convention center. Unfortunately there is a ton of sound leakage from the house above. I could hear every footstep and word spoken, it really sounded like I was in the room upstairs. Luckily the upstairs occupants were pretty quiet for most of my stay. Also, not to the fault of the owner, but the mosquito population is intense near the entry way to the apartment. Overall I enjoyed the stay.

Inspiring NYC Studio loft style in the heart of Blagden alley historical district. Much effort was given to preserve this 1870 carriage house’s landmark legacy while remodeling in 2018: hardwood floors throughout, flooded with natural light, gourmet kitchen, King bed & extra beddings upon request. Set back in a quiet corner but from the pulse of Shaw & Logan. 1min walk to convention ctr, 6 to Verizon ctr, 15 to White H. Complimentary free local Gym access & free parking permit. WELCOME!
I am so excited Welcoming you in this unique place ! I should start with a little bit of a history ( all right I know I’ll make it quick just about Two minutes of reading so you can get Some Inspiring (i think) background about the place. Blagden Alley is a historic district defined by middle-class residences, churches and small apartment buildings which display a rich variety of Victorian architectural styles dating from the 1860’s to the 1890’s. In the interior of each block are extant examples of utilitarian alley dwellings, such as working class residences, stables and commercial buildings that are hidden behind the buildings facing the streets. The area illustrates how different classes, races and services were physically organized in the 19th-century city of Washington. The names Blagden Alley and Naylor Court were derived from two 19th-century property owners, Thomas Blagden and Dickerson Nailor. Blagden owned property in the area and ran a lumberyard in the city. Dickerson Nailor (now spelled Naylor) also owned property and was a grocer. After the Civil War, Washington's downtown became increasingly commercial and residential development grew north to the Blagden Alley area in the 1870s and attracted several prestigious, affluent residents. The elegant townhouse, the Blanche K. Bruce House (NHL) at 909 M Street was constructed in 1873. Bruce was the first African American to serve as a Senator in Congress (R-Miss, 1875-1881). To the south was a house built by Alexander "Boss" Shepard, the chief of the Board of Public Works during the 1870s. Streetcar lines connected 9th and 7th Streets with downtown in 1873, and these streets served as the main commercial corridors. After the Civil War, many African Americans migrated to Washington and came to live in the alley dwellings. They were small and poorly constructed buildings, mainly of wood and brick. The living conditions were overcrowded and unsanitary. Throughout the first half of the 20th century, there were concentrated efforts to have the alley dwellings demolished. Bladgen Alley and Naylor Court are two of only a handful of alleys which are extant. The Blagden Alley neighborhood continued to serve as a closely-knit, racially mixed middle and working class neighborhood into the 20th century. However, the widening of 9th Street with its subsequent loss of street trees and yards, the flight of the middle class to the suburbs, the increase of absentee landlords and the 1968 riots led to deterioration of the area. Today, there is interest in renovating and restoring the homes. New residents have been attracted to the area by the charm of the buildings and the proximity to downtown. So you know the big picture. On the logistics side to recap the space is bright spacious 1000sq ft, totally open and changeable. Brand new kitchen appliances and state of the art Cuisinart tools . Security system extremely safe especially for Single woman traveler. Any question of further detail you may have about a specific of the place Just ask! 3/4 guests staying with here are couples or single business traveler. I often organize the space differently for a long stay or any special requests if you need to set up a desk area, a meeting room, A/V material I have everything you need. The space is indeed regularly used as an offsite meeting location for events at the convention center. 1/4 of guests staying here are mostly, couple with Younger children, groups of friends, Siblings or special occasion getaway trip. I can accommodate special and extra bedding as requested. Although There is a NO hard party policy, I do take reservations for small events and Gathering, Let me know what the details are and we will try to work out something together.
The loft is in the heart of Blagden Alley historical district. Walk to the Convention Center, Verizon Center, and the White House. Many unmissable hot spots are around the corner, including artists' workspaces, food markets, shops, and restaurants.
  • Stylish, spacious place with great amenities. Louis was very helpful too, and easy to reach. Very handily located for the convention center with really interesting bars, cafes and restaurants in the locale. Thanks again, Louis!

    Matthew2019-09-26T00:00:00Z
  • Louis's place manages to be super stylish but also homely, welcoming and unpretentious at the same time. The location was absolutely perfect for me, a 15 minute walk to where I was working on New York Ave. Which gave me a bit of space to explore on my short trip. I would definitely stay here again and will recommend to any colleagues going out to Washington. The extra touches of anything you may have forgotten is also a lovely idea.

    Aprille Isabella2019-09-13T00:00:00Z
  • Louis is a great host. The Airbnb is fitted with quality products and the host is super helpful, checking up in the morning to ensure everything is ok. The location is close to the mall monuments and museums, restaurants and supermarket.

    Laura2019-06-19T00:00:00Z
  • Louis has created a stylish, beautiful, and comfortable space in his loft! The amenities were above and beyond (toiletries, snacks, and the bin of items that might be needed), the location was conveniently located to markets, bars, and restaurants, and Louis was a helpful, responsive, and welcoming host. Would definitely recommend a stay here!

    Zaina2019-07-10T00:00:00Z
  • This was a great place to stay while at a conference at the convention center, which is a very short walk away. The surrounding neighborhood has some great places to eat. The loft is very clean, and nicely styled. Louis was very thoughtful in providing coffee, snacks, and a whole selection of common items that someone may need (like lip balm!!). My only (small) complaint is that there is a very bright streetlight and flood light that shines into the windows by the bed—light-blocking blinds are strongly recommended. Overall a great experience.

    Andrew2019-06-24T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful loft space right in the heart of hip Shaw!

    Dominic2019-07-06T00:00:00Z
  • Louis is very friendly and helpful, and the location is perfect.

    Dylan2019-05-13T00:00:00Z
  • Louis and team were super helpful during our stay. The loft was nicely decorated with a modern feel and everything is accurate to the pictures. This space met our expectations and more! Upon arrival we were greeted and given a high level overview of the space, location and parking advice. Luckily we were here on the weekend and were able to secure a parking spot in front of the loft which was free during weekends. The convention center is 5 min walk (AMAZING) as well as grocery shops. I would highly recommend this place for anyone who’s looking for an amazing space with great hosts, convenient location and affordable price and great coffee shops near by. If I come back to DC, this would be where I would stay!

Charming, beautiful, historic apartment just steps from the heart of D.C.! Walk to the convention center or monuments, and unwind surrounded by the best D.C. has to offer. Get a restful nights sleep on the comfiest mattress, and wake up in a beautiful location.
This is a beautiful and charming English basement in a remodeled historic grand Victorian row home. Just 2 minutes walk to one of DC's newest Michelin Star restaurants (The Dabney) and surrounded by critically acclaimed restaurants in the neighborhood, this location is the epitome of sophisticated convenience.
  • Bennett was a great host. Not only did he allow my brother to join us last minute at no extra charge, but he was kind enough to offer great suggestions for food and drinks nearby. He was very attentive and responsive. With that said, there were a few things we wish would have been a bit better. Although the unit does have a/c, unfortunately, there's no way to turn it on or off. Instead, the people living upstairs have full control over it. This meant that we had to text Bennett whenever we wanted the temperature to change which was a bit of a bummer. We could, however, close the vent in the living area, but the same could not be said for the bedroom. Second, although the house rules ask to be courteous and not run, there were a couple of instances where we could hear the people upstairs running. In fact, my parents had a hard time falling asleep being that they could hear laughter and music coming from upstairs at around 2 am. Also, FYI you will hear footsteps constantly. Lastly, everything else was as described. The kitchen was beautiful, the internet was blazing fast, and the washing machine was a great addition. One small thing to note is that if you're tall, don't expect to fit on the sofa bed. It wasn't very comfortable and a tad bit smaller than we anticipated. All in all, I think Bennett was amazing and the place was very clean. I do wish we could have controlled the AC from within the unit, and that the sofa bed was either replaced with something a bit more comfortable and larger or not mentioned at all. With a few minor modifications, I think this place could be perfect!

    Vicc2017-06-19T00:00:00Z
  • I was in D.C. 5 days for work and had a great time at Bennett's place. Bennett provides excellent communication with checking in and out process. He checked in during my stay to make sure I enjoyed my stay. His place is really clean and upgraded. I felt like home. Everything was provided professionally. The bed was super comfortable! I was traveling alone and felt safe at his place. The location was great with walking distance to a Metro station. Lots of restaurants around.

  • Location Location Location! Bennett's apartment is nestled in a safe, charming neighborhood in walking distance to all of the tourist sites and trending restaurants/bars in D.C. I spent five nights with my two younger daughters'(age 9 and 11) in this apartment over their spring break, and we walked to the monuments, the White House, the Capitol, Georgetown, the National Zoo, Adams Morgan and Dupont Circle. In the evenings we chose to stay in the neighborhood and tried Bennett's restaurant recommendations, which were spot - on. We especially loved the character of the neighborhood, and ease of exploring it. Bennett's apartment is perfectly fitting of the neighborhood, with lots of extra touches. I especially appreciated the soft linens, bedding and washing machine/dryer. There is a full kitchen, which we didn't taken advantage of but instead used it for stocking it with breakfast and snack items that we purchased a few blocks away at a local grocery store. Bennett makes check-in and check-out a breeze. It was truly a wonderful trip, and our accommodations and location made it even more special.

Decompress from your business travel in a stylish home that combines convenience with a cozy residential neighborhood. This 1800s retreat retains a great deal of historic charm, with feature fireplaces, sash windows, and hardwood floors. The location is perfect for conferences at the convention center, Marriott Marquis, or other downtown office buildings.
This rental is for one private bedroom (full size bed) and bathroom (not en suite but down the hall). Both the room and bathroom are on the 2nd floor of the house. You are welcome to use the common areas while staying here including the living room and kitchen.
The home has the best of both worlds: convenience to the convention center and downtown, yet the tranquil surroundings of a residential area (Logan Circle/Shaw) with great coffee shops, bakeries, bars, and restaurants just a block away.
  • Staying with Nick & Shelley was great! The house has a great location, convenient transportation. Private room enough, neat and clean, simple and modern decoration.Nick & Shelley are great host!

  • A really nice room with lots of privacy and very nice bath, in a location that's extremely quiet even though it's on a street corner. Very straightforward access arrangements. There are lots of good restaurants and coffee shops within reasonable walking distance. Altogether a great stay.

  • Staying here was wonderful - I felt so welcomed and comfortable from the minute I arrived. Super convenient if you're travelling to DC for a conference! I'd highly recommend.

    Elise2017-05-03T00:00:00Z
  • Room was just as pictured. Well located. Lovely 1860s house. Super clean. Great shower.

    Anna2016-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • From the moment I booked the listing, to the moment I stepped through the door, the entire experience was fantastic. Nick was very easy to communicate with and provided some great advice for restaurants around the area. Arriving at their place was super easy. He had the perfect balance between being available for any questions but conscientious of your privacy to let you do your own thing. The house is immaculate. The room and bathroom are both impeccably clean and well appointed with everything you can possibly need. I felt immediately at home and was amazed at how organized and tidy everything was. It's a beautiful house located in a great neighborhood and close to everything. I particularly enjoyed being able to walk to La Colombe coffee shop 2 blocks away for the best coffee I've had in a while. I am usually pretty brief with my reviews, but I had such an outstanding experience at Nick and Shelley's place that I hope they continue being successful hosts. Definitely SuperHost material.

  • It was a great experience staying in Shelley and Nick's house. Very good location. It only needs few minutes walking to Convention Center and Marriott. Room is clean. Especially the water for showing is hot enough. I recommend it!

  • Look, I know the free coffee isn't why you pick and Airbnb, but man, waking up to a beautiful cup of Italian espresso after weeks of hotel single serve really perks (ha!) up your morning. The apartment is small, but not cramped and is in a beautiful location. And there is a grocery only 3 block door to door if you are staying a little bit longer and want to stock up on anything. And obviously, the garden is one of a kind. A friend from DC came over for a glass of wine and she couldn't believe it. I use Airbnb frequently for work and I cannot recommend this location enough. Thanks Tamara & Kevin!

  • The apartment is in good location and it looks exactly as the photos. As everyone has mentioned it is clean and has great amenities. The one thing that is lacking from the reviews is the noise from upstairs. The upstairs unit is also a Airbnb rental and we had one night with someone staying in that space. The loud footsteps, talking and scraping of chairs on the floors went on until after midnight. I am a light sleeper so I always look for noise issues and only saw one mention of it in the reviews. If I just see one, I do not think much of it. Also, the bathroom is very, very small.. All in all, I enjoyed our stay and the hosts were responsive and very lovely to talk to. Our stay was short so the noise and size of the bathroom was not a problem for us and the pros outweighed the cons.

This is a green oasis in downtown DC. My cozy studio is colorful and full of plants, with lots of sunlight. It's less than 10 minutes walk to all six metro lines, and is in the heart of the historic Logan Circle neighborhood.
This is my home, so it's full of the art and treasures that I've collected from my travels. I love this apartment and I hope you will, too!
You've got a great Salvadoran restaurant across the street, a local supermarket half a block up, and some wonderful cafes, restaurants, and bars all within a couple blocks. You're also two blocks from the convention center. The neighborhood is both quiet and residential and also central to everything you can want in DC -- it's the perfect combination. You have easy access to the nightlife on 14th St and U St, a short downhill walk to all of the museums and monuments, and less than 10 minutes walk to all six metro lines. I'll be happy to recommend some local favorites if you want.
  • Noel's place was perfect for our quick visit! A fun and stylish studio apartment, well connected to several city highlights.

    Alex2019-07-07T00:00:00Z
  • Good price and value for short stays in DC. If all you need is a place to sleep this is perfect.

    Sam2019-03-31T00:00:00Z
  • I'm thankful for Noel for her hospitality and for greetings as we checked in. The studio was very nice and convenient for our conference stay. She left a basket of snacks for us that was definitely needed! Thanks again!

    Ali2019-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • Noel’s apartment is perfectly located, a short walk distance from the mall and surrounded by nice places to eat (Noel’s tips are worth it !). The apartment is also really quiet and the self check-in super easy! Noel was really reactive to any question and eager to make our stay as smooth as possible. We will definitely come back here when we visit DC next time!

    Julie2019-05-12T00:00:00Z
  • The moment I saw the photos of Noel’s place, I felt happy and the apartment itself did not disappoint. It was a super cheery, sunny and comfortable home, and we truly felt like welcomed guests. Noel was very responsive, accommodating and the consummate host. The location of the home was absolutely perfect. I will stay here again if her place is available next time I’m in town.

    Bill2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • After reading Noel’s description and seeing photos of her home, you’ll know exactly what to expect. It’s in a super location at a very good price. She’s a charming person who met us on arrival and made sure we had everything we needed, plus some thoughtful extras to enjoy. Anytime I contacted her she responded in a very reasonable amount of time -if not immediately, so I never felt like I couldn’t find out whatever I might need to know, which was reassuring. There were four of us together in her apartment (in January) which made for cozy quarters- and we WERE comfortable! Plenty of heat. Plenty of hot water in the bath. Lots of interesting books and a sweet little gas stove to cook on, which I loved. Getting out in the area and having walking access to the Metro was important to us- and for that purpose Noel’s couldn’t be beat. Even though the longest US government shutdown in history was underway, there were loads of great places to visit in DC. I hope to return in the future when the cherry trees are blooming, and see how Noel’s jungle of houseplants is doing!

    Christine2019-01-21T00:00:00Z
  • Outstanding location for our purposes. The price was high for what you get, but that might have been because there was a large conference at the nearby convention center while we were there. Noel is quick to respond to messages. Check-in was simple and well-explained in advance of our arrival. Noel's instructions were thorough and clear. When I made my booking, I indicated 4 people. (It turned out we were actually 3.) Unfortunately, there were only 2 large towels provided and when I contacted the owner, I was invited to purchase additional linens at a nearby supermarket and that she'd reimburse. We didn't bother doing that. The main bed is nice and comfy with a memory foam mattress topper. Perfect for 2 people. There is also a fold-out love seat with a not-so-thick foam cushion as a mattress. (Less than a futon.) Not so comfortable and hardly adequate for 2 people. It might be more appropriate for 2 small children. We didn't use the kitchen, however, it appeared to be well-equipped. We were tempted by the Girl Scout cookies, but we didn't touch! This is a small and cozy studio apartment with hardly enough space for open luggage. Strong signal WIFI was provided. West of the Marriott Marquis, this unit is very close to Shaw, but in a slightly better neighborhood. Also close to Chinatown. One thing that was very helpful was that Noel cordially allowed us to store luggage there for a few hours after checkout. Thanks for that!
