Right by public transit, across from HQ of Uber, Square etc. Minutes walk to the chic and vibrant Hayes Valley with a plethora of restaurant and coffee shop options. The location is unbeatable. All major amenities are included as part of the unit (see pics). The apartment unit number was just updated from 1212 to 301, and updated photos have been added.
The apartment unit is a brand-new, furnished 2BR/2Bath. I’ll be living in one of the 1BR/1Bath and this listing is for the living room area which has been carved out and converted into a bedroom separated from the kitchen area with sliding curtains. The room is quite spacious and well-lit and can accommodate two single beds. You will be sharing bathroom with me. The bathroom is equipped with basic amenities e.g. shampoos, shower gels, soaps and one bathing towel per guest will be provided. There is also in-room laundry unit and kitchen that is quite modern, both shared. The 2nd floor of the building complex has 24/7 gym, outdoor fireplace and patio, and private working rooms, TV/game room and social lounge. Amenities in the building is superb. The building is pet friendly and has an in-building dog park and dog wash facility. Please read House Manual carefully especially regarding Quiet Hours before booking. There's only one set of keys for guests for the same booking, as the apartment management forbids key cloning. The key will be needed to both unlock the door to the apartment unit as well as locking the door when you leave, as well as needed to access the gym and lounge. You’ll receive Airbnb email instructions on how to pick up the key from a lockbox in the building adjacent to the apartment complex. You’ll be able to pick up the key with your mobile phone or email. Note that key pick up is generally only available before 9pm. IMPORTANT: In order to facilitate key pick up from the lockbox, I’ll need to set you up with it before you check in. So please—in advance—Airbnb message me your mobile phone number (including country code) or personal email I can set it up. You’ll be using either mobile number or email to pick up the key at the lockbox.
Literally everything.
  • Aaron is a really friendly guy; he’s place is really nice, quiet, comfortable and clean... he even got a special place ( 2nd floor) with a fireplace, gym (so bring gym clothes ) and a lounge zone. The bathroom is beautiful and while I stayed there I didn’t bother me to shared it. The location is quite near to a lot of shops and places to eat in market street, even the lovely civic center is about two blocks away! Sadly there are homeless people by ( not Aaron’s fault) I recommend don’t leaving the building to early or to late, Uber comes really handy if you want to leave it late, or if you want to take a walk please do it since 10 am homeless people usually scatter at that time, luckily police officers are always near. Not a very nice situation but besides some scares I never got any trouble or never needed the police, nevertheless stay alert... San Francisco is a great city it was my first time there and I enjoyed being at Aaron’s place definitely I would return here

  • Great location and beautiful view. And it was really clean and cozy. Aaron's hospitality was an enjoyable part of my trip to San Francisco.

    G.Y2019-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • Fast communication, great location, clean area. Very thin walls inside apartment so need to be mindful of noises, but that is stated up front clearly. Would recommend!

    Alex2019-04-28T00:00:00Z
  • Request us to change our scheduled to give the keys to the next guest. I think we are not supposed to handle this.

    Felipe2018-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • Aaron more than accommodated me and was a superb host. The place is clean and tidy and exactly as described. I wish I had more time to use the facilities and amenities, but will definitely stay here next time and highly recommend it! Aaron was prompt with his responses and we had a great time chatting!

    Ino2018-05-05T00:00:00Z
  • Aaron is a great host. I was lucky to find an excellent place to stay at his apartment for my first week moving to the US here. He helped me with advice on where to go and how to settle in the city. The location is also perfect being it is near to many tourists places and my office, which is just a few blocks away on Market Street.

Explore the heart of San Francisco from this designer studio. Unwind in this boutique, open-concept space with carefully selected decor or gaze out across the city from the rooftop terrace with 360-degree views, a BBQ, and a seating area.
Our studio includes parking for a compact, midsize, or entry-level luxury car. If your car doesn't fit (SUVs won't fit) you'll need to use street parking, which is metered, or pay for parking at a nearby garage. Check-in time depends on the day of the week. Absolutely no smoking is permitted in our studio. We also appreciate if guests avoid using strong perfumes/colognes while staying at our studio. This modern studio is located in one of SF's newer buildings. It has light brown floors, brand new furniture, and includes wifi and a 39 inch flat screen TV which streams Roku, Amazon Prime, Netflix and over 60 local channels. In addition to the everyday essentials expected in a modern home (heating, oven, fridge, etc), a dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker, iron, blow dryer and a washer/dryer are included for your convenience. Our unit is extremely quiet; excellent for getting a good night's rest on a cozy queen size bed. The building's common areas are monitored around the clock for your security. The entrance to Highway 101 - southbound (to the Peninsula) and northbound (to the East Bay) - is 4 minutes away. In the event 3 guests want to sleep on separate beds, you can use the daybed sofa which is around the same size as a single bed.
The building is located in the Civic Center area, in the middle of town, and is equal distance to all of the nightlife options and places of interest. Discover the city with close access to the water and the iconic Mission District.
  • Wonderful hosts, great apartment. Best thing about it is that Carlos and Graciela were very available if I needed anything and very helpful at check-in. The best Air bnb experience I've had so far!

    Heather2018-11-04T00:00:00Z
  • This was a beautiful place in great location and the hosts were incredible

    Alisondra2018-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • If I had to choose between great hosts and great apartment, I would choose the first. But imagine if you would not have to make compromise and you could have both hosts and a wonderful place to live. Actually, there is no need to imagine this scenario: simply contact Graciela and Carlos. I can only reinforce what is already written in previous reviews: Graciela and Carlos are a wonderful couple who will do everything in their power to make your stay as comfortable as possible in their studio(s). As a matter of fact, my impression is that they will gladly run the extra mile in order to help. The apartment is one of the best ones I have ever lived in (and I have lived in many apartments and houses throughout 10 countries of Europe and Asia). I know where I will want to stay next time I come to San Francisco. To wrap it up, I can wholeheartedly recommend any of their apartments (even though I lived in only one). By having great and caring hosts like Graciela and Carlos, the only thing you need to "worry about" is to enjoy your stay in this wonderful city.

    Ivan2018-12-05T00:00:00Z
  • Carlos was an excellent host, communicating quickly and allowing me to extend my stay multiple times. The unit is exactly as described and well appointed. It has everything you need for a stay in the city for work or pleasure. Would definitely recommend!

  • Wonderful place. Carlos was a phenomenal host.

  • Great Place! and Even Greater Hosts!!! Totally recomended for short and long stay!

    Fernando2017-01-06T00:00:00Z
  • I enjoyed my stay in San Francisco. The unit was well appointed with high-end amenities and all the creature comforts you could want while traveling. The high tech parking facilitiy was a huge bonus.

    Maureen2017-02-11T00:00:00Z
  • This was my first time using Airbnb and I had a great experience. The apartment was just like the pictures: very clean and modern and had everything we needed. Carlos was also very helpful in showing us around the apartment. He was very generous in accommodating my requests to make my stay comfortable. He was prompt in his responses. Bed was super comfortable and having Netflix on the TV screen was a blessing. The studio itself and surroundings had everything we needed. So convenient, definitely recommend this place!

  • Could not speak more highly of Sonder and staff. My one pain point (lack of coffee) was addressed THE VERY SAME DAY when staff installed state of the art coffee machine just hours later. Beyond thoughtful and highly appreciated by me and fellow guests. The area was also an unexpected bonus! Lots of great food and shopping. I would definitely return to this location :)

  • Great location, easy access. Definitely a small space but I expected that in the city, and it works.

  • Perfect location w/ close proximity to walkable restaurants, coffee shops and bars. Wonderful safe clean stay and the shared spaces are a huge plus if you're traveling for work. Will definitely re-book in the near future.

    Carlos2019-06-21T00:00:00Z
  • We’d never been to San Francisco, and this was a great place to be. Hayes Valley is a great neighborhood - probably would have been our favorite even if we weren’t staying there. Room was smallish but very nice and very clean. Common space was good sized and stylish. We arrived a little bit early, and even though we were communicating by text, we were able to check in early within a few minutes. Communication was excellent from the jump. Our room faced the street, and with no A/C the only way to get air was to open the windows. I was actually expecting it to be louder than it was, but there are definitely city noises (sirens, loud cars, etc.) that will wake a light sleeper occasionally. Overall, a really nice experience.

My classic Victorian house is perfectly located in SoMa! A central neighborhood where the MOSCONE center, Downtown, Civic Center BART, Breweries, Coffee Roasters, Nightclubs & delicious Restaurants are all just 5 - 15mins walking distance, making it the perfect place for either buisness or adventure travelers! The house was recently remodeled and it has plenty of natural light. This is a calm and quiet place, where you can enjoy my daily aromatherapy which is great for rest and relaxation.
YOUR ROOM: • This beautiful room, has a Queen-size bed, soft cotton bedsheets, a desk, a comfortable reading chair a closet with hangers and a small dresser, a heater, a full body mirror behind the door and a Homedics sounds canceling machine. Your room has been carefully decorated to offer you an "energized" feeling with its different blue tones and earthy decor. • If you are arriving before 3PM, No problem, you may use the garage to drop your belongings until anytime after 3PM check-in. And if you want to leave your luggage after 10AM check-out, feel also free to leave it in the garage for as long as you need as well :) • SELF CHECK-IN after 3pm is absolutely available. You don't need to wait for me to get inside the house. ** Go to Airbnb WEBSITE to find the DOORS CODES. You can also find them on the app under check-in instructions closer to your arrival day (no cell data needed).** Please make yourself comfortable and at home. Ill happily give you a house tour if you want once I see you. • Once you are inside the house, look for the door that has your name on it :) • If you are a light sleeper, I recommend you to bring ear-plugs. The house is old so the insulation isn't the best. • Also, even though the house was recently remodeled, there are a few original parts that were kept, such as the door knobs. This means that the doors only lock from the inside. And even though there will be 3 other guests staying at the house, they will all be highly verified and evaluated by AirBnB registration policies. I have never had any issues with security. • There are 2 WiFi ports so you will have access throughout the house!
    • SoMa's multifaceted character brings together all sorts of people. Tech-savvy entrepreneurs rub elbows with well-read bohemian types, and museum curators share the sidewalks with ill-groomed individuals. • Most of the action can be found at: MOSCONE CENTER, SF MOMA and Yerba Buena gardens, Giants ballpark. SoMa, as it's known, sounds a little like a SoHo wannabe, and it does have a strong downtown vibe. Restaurants, Hip bars, clubs, and specialty coffee cafes are all around. • There is something I will like to bring up before any surprises. San Francisco is sadly recognized by the large amount of homeless on the streets. And even though 95% of them are harmless it is important to consider and acknowledge that this is a major problem all over the city. If you want to get more information regarding this issue there's a lot material on the Internet that you can read about. And if I can give you an advice about this matter, it would be to avoid the tenderloin, 5th, 6th and market streets on late hours (even thought during the 4 years I've been living in the city nothing bad has ever happened to me BUT, it's good to let you know so you don't feel insecure while walking around). The only thing I can promise you is that I'll try my best to keep the house clean and quiet so you can relax, rest and enjoy it.
  • Easy to access, tips from host is clear and helpful

    Jian2018-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect place for doing what I needed to do and getting to where I needed to go.

    Lisa2017-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • Had a great stay! Very comfortable room, and it was nice to meet other people who were traveling.

    Tong2018-05-06T00:00:00Z
  • Maria is great i didn’t have the pleasure to meet her but based on her place and the notes she wrote for our stay. It shows the attention to detail and care.

    Edwin2019-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • My stay here was exceptionally peaceful, and the house is truly stunning. I wish I'd been able to spend more time inside, rather than having to constantly run back and forth to work. I could not recommend this place more highly for anyone looking for something vintage and different during their stay in the city. The restaurants and bars in the area are also pretty fantastic.

    Andrew2018-06-28T00:00:00Z
  • Maria is so sweet and forthcoming. She maintains a beautiful home in the middle of SOMA within walking distance of nearly everything in downtown San Francisco. Room was spacious and clean. Bathroom was well appointed. I had an easy time finding my way around the city, not to mention she made me feel right at home. Thanks Maria!

    Joseph2017-07-15T00:00:00Z
  • Maria is amazing and her place is the perfect spot to land in SF. Her home is super clean and centrally located in a great area. The room I stayed in was very nice and comfortable, and her cute doggy Sequoia is there to show all the love. Highly recommend!

    Alejandro2019-06-05T00:00:00Z
  • Maria's place was really great. It was a nice get away at the end of the day and extremely peaceful. I enjoyed the terrace, drinking tea in the evening and falling asleep to the sound of rain due to the noise machine that was provided. After a day of adventuring it was the perfect place to go and decompress. Maria is sweet as can be and I'd definitely stay with her again if I traveled to San Francisco. Oh and best part is being able to leave my baggage in the garage before check in and after check out. That saved me from walking around with a suitcase in the city!

    Fangfang2019-05-06T00:00:00Z
  • This is a beautiful, vintage hotel (listed on the National Historic Register!) located in a central downtown spot on Market Street in SF. Market Street is always a mixed bag in terms of noise, cleanliness, and general tourist wandering joy, but the upside is you can walk most places in downtown and can catch public transportation (rail, bus, trolley, cable car) to almost everywhere else. This is a hotel, complete with all amenities, but in the mode of the early 1900s with tall spaces with decorative elements and 'cozy' bathrooms within each guest room (though at over six feet, there was no space/ fit problem). Plus the staff is professional and helpful and the further one gets from the entry door on Market, the quieter it is!

    Heather2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • Expect to pay extra charge to the hotel about 150 $ in addition to what you would pay to Airbnb. This is my fist time booking a hotel with Airbnb . I should have done more research. the location is great and was easy to explore the city with out hassles. Also, expect to pay for parking and spend another 150-200 if you are renting a car. I am wondering if I could have traveled cheaper if I rented a condo/home with a free parking place and no additional charges from the hotel.

Nicely decorated apartment available for a multi-month arrangement (minimum 30 days). 1 bedroom / 1 bathroom, in-unit W/D. Excellent location. Walking distance to public transit, restaurants, and freeway.
The location is probably one of the best assets. It's also a very quiet building, even though it's located on a busy street. Tucked in a corner on the 10th-floor blocks some of the street /traffic noises. A great supermarket and pharmacy are located a short walk away.
Walking distance to the Mission District, the Castro, Hayes Valley, and even downtown. Also, a couple of blocks away are the Davies Symphony Hall and The War Memorial Opera House.

  • Aaron’s apartment is beautiful, clean and peaceful and is located in a stunning building. Note there is no living room in the apartment itself but that didn’t make too much of a difference to me. There is a gorgeous lounge downstairs in the lobby.

The place itself was very clean and the layout was great. Super close to restaurants, coffee shops, shopping, etc. Unbeatable location. Aaron's also very communicative and thought of everything. • Market Street didn't feel like the nicest and safest location, especially during the night. The hotel itself was nice accom and did the trick for our short stay.

I have a kitchen for your use, but no coffee pot or microwave. The kitchen privileges do not include cooking full meals, it is just for making tea or warming leftovers. Cat petting is free
New features: completely remodeled BEautiful Tile Bathroom New and VERY comfortable Queen size Bed.
  • Mari's place is in the awesome Soma neighborhood. My office is off Market St and this location was a perfect 10 minute walk to it. If you're looking to be in the middle of everything, but go back to somewhere quiet. Mari and Oreo (kitty!) were friendly and accommodating. Mari keeps a very clean home and makes it feel like you're staying with a good friend when you're there. The bed was very comfortable and the room was perfect for a single traveler. The bathroom floor is heated (which is an incredible feature) and the bathroom and sink area were super clean. Mari refreshes the towels every day/every other day and provides pretty much any toiletries you may have forgotten (toothpaste, shampoo, etc). The only negative thing that I would care to mention is the skylight as it can brighten the room up early in the morning. Would definitely stay with Mari and Oreo again!

  • The room and bed were very comfortable, and the bathroom and shower were very clean

  • Mari is a great host and her place is very nice and clean

    Brian2017-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • This was my first Airbnb, and I had a great experience staying here. Mari was very flexible and helpful with my check-in time. The room was cozy, and the bed was nice and very comfortable. The neighborhood was nice and quiet despite the homeless people that linger around the surrounding blocks. Oreo was a great companion and always there to greet me. I would definitely stay here again if back in San Francisco!

    Justin2016-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • Mari was the perfect host!! I loved staying at her place. This was my first B&B and I will definitely being doing this again. Mari was always quick to respond to any questions before and after I made my reservations. She made tea and cut up fruit every morning. Her home was beautiful and clean. Her cat, Orea was the perfect little charmer. Like Orea, I give Mari 2 paws up!!!! Hope to see her again when I come back to San Francisco.

    Lynda2016-09-14T00:00:00Z
  • Mari's a fantastic place to stay. She was very welcoming, and was great at checking in before I got there. Her cat Oreo is very friendly and cute. She was there to meet me and shared with me her great knowledge about San Francisco's culture. Their place is exactly like the pictures, very clean, very nice, very comfortable and cozy. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom and sink area was super clean. She provides toiletries including toothpaste, shampoo, soap, etc. It's also very well located, in the middle of everything and with a lovely Cafe shop across the street. If I am ever up in San Francisco again I'll be looking to stay here again.

    Selma2017-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • One of my best Airbnb experiences. Mari is a fantastic person and host and her home is beautifully laid out, with wonderful artwork and comfy quarters. Her cat, Oreo, is very friendly, and the location is perfect for exploring many of SF's neighborhoods. Will definitely go back next time I'm in SF.

    Andrew2018-06-05T00:00:00Z
  • Mari's place is a great San Francisco experience. The location is terrific and the room is really comfortable. Mari's knowledge is a real bonus. Of course the biggest attraction is Oreo the cat, who will often drop by to say hello. 8th and Howard is central, but guests should be aware Soma has a few rough edges and there are homeless people around. Overall I would strongly recommend staying with Mari and Oreo!

You’ll love my place because of the location, the recent remodel and many more upgrades. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, and business travelers.
Our hotel consists a mix of rooms with Private Baths and Shared baths. It is what you would consider a European style hotel. We do not have air conditioning or parking. We do however provide a small fan in the room. Also, there is a parking garage at Soma Grand one block down or at Market Square Garage underneath the Twitter Building next to us. Both are over night parking and charge roughly $25 per night with no ins and outs.
Just a heads up, we are right in the middle of Civic Center so it does get noisy but if you don't have an issue with that you will be just fine.
  • Booked this for a coworker, great location, clean :)

    Nadya2019-06-14T00:00:00Z
  • This hotel is more akin to a halfway house situation; it's located in one of the most dangerous neighborhoods in San Francisco. At all hours of the day, the corner outside of Ram'S' is teeming with mental illness and drug abuse, which makes for a very loud and disturbing stay. The facilities themselves are clean, and the family who runs it is kind. However, there were very strange communication issues while my friend and I were staying there. The hosts confused the friend who dropped me off at the hotel around 6pm as my guest, and when my actual guest arrived at midnight, the host working the desk gave both of us a hard time. It escalated to the point of me asking the host if she would like to check my room for hidden guests. I understand this neighborhood is rough and appreciate the extra security measures to a certain extent, but it was all very bizarre. As we were checking out --one day early!-- we were scolded again by the host for having after-hours visitors though we never did host after-hours visitors. We then caught a Lyft to Le Meridian for only $40 extra a night, and on the way to the Lyft were literally chased by a screaming woman. Very intense situation to save a little cash.

Roof-top with panoramic views and multiple lounge areas available for guests (HoA rules must be respected). Google Fiber with 500 Mb up and down speed. IKEA desk and chair available in the living room. Host (me) sleeps in the living room on the couch. The bedroom has a California king sized mattress, built-in closet (that can be emptied upon request) remote controllable shades.
Apartment overlooks the courtyard of the building, very quiet and does not get exposed to street noise when windows are closed.
It is a high risk area. Nothing bad ever happened to me personally. Always happy to provide escorts to BART/Uber/Lyft if a guest feels not comfortable to exit/enter the premises on their own.
  • I enjoyed staying with Peter, the apartment was clean and comfortable, it wasn't an issue at all that he sleeps in the living room. The place is quiet and chill in general, very good if you want to work on your laptop a lot during the day.

In downtown Hayes Valley, right at the intersection of Hayes and Octavia, next to Smitten Ice Cream, Blue Bottle Coffee, delicious food and craft cocktails in all directions, lies our spacious modern pad. Perfect central location from which to launch SF explorations, expansive rooftop with view of city hall and Sutro Tower, great new kitchen with gas stove to cook, then nestle into a movie on the couch. Come savor.
Hayes Valley is a chic and hip neighborhood in the center of San Francisco. The main commercial stretch, Hayes Street, teems with upscale boutiques for designer fashions and home decor, plus dessert shops, chill watering holes and a wide array of on-trend restaurants. The close-knit neighborhood features a community garden, a pocket park with art installations, and access to music and theater near the Civic Center. It is the very center of San Francisco.
  • Very nice and clean place!

  • This is a must stay place! This apartment is in the heart of Hayes Valley...right above and overlooking Ritual coffee, the juice shop, blue bottle and ALL the cute shops below. We stayed here during New Year’s Eve and it was the perfect stay. Great restaurants and bars right outside along with rooftop access that gave us two different views of an SF firework show. It was truly hard to leave and we’d definitely book again!! This place is gold and the hosts are very accommodating and quick with communication.

  • This was a lovely light spacious base for our exploration of SF. Reid and Ramin made us feel very at ease and at home in their stylish apartment. We were spoilt for choice of restaurants nearby and our hosts gave excellent tips. The bedroom and bedding were very comfortable. Surprisingly quiet considering we were on a fairly busy street. Highly recommended.

  • Jerry was a very nice host although he wasn't present in person one of his friend showed me around the flat. Both of them were very quick and nice to help me out. The flat is very well placed very near to everything. (Even though prepare that Eddy,Ellis,Turk street is full of homeless people at certain times of the day between Market and Larkin str). I can definitely recommend if you want to be close to everything and experience SF first hand.

    Peter2014-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • The flat was exactly as depicted on the pictures and the friend of Jerry came on time to hand us the keys of the apartment. Even though the area is full of homeless people and we didn't feel safe at the beginning, everything went smooth and flawlessly as we got used to them (they are harmless). The flat had every appliance we needed and there were very useful information placards with mini how-to guides of every part of the house. The only thing we didn't like was the two cockroaches we found in the flat during the day, something a bit uncomfortable as the mattresses lay on the floor and going to sleep thinking there may come more is scary, but no more showed up, so it was ok!

    Jordi2013-07-12T00:00:00Z
  • Staying at Jerry's house it was really comfortable. The house is like it appears on the pictures, and Jerry was really nice with us. Going around was easy from the house and you have an easy to use public transportation system. If you need an nice accommodation in the center of SF and you don't want to spend too much I definitely advice Jerry's house.

    Angelo2014-02-13T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect apartment. Big enough, clean and stuffed with everything needed. Jerry is a very caring and kind host. Location is central, but you should be prepared for Tenderloin atmosphere. All in all, great choice, totally recommended.

    Michael2014-03-27T00:00:00Z
  • Cannot speak highly enough about the apartment and Jerry. Apartment is centrally located to everything in the city. Public transportation is just a few steps away. Tons of awesome restaurants and bars within 2 block radius. So much to do and so easy to access other parts of the city. Apartment was clean and spacious. Everything you need for a short or long stay. Jerry was very accessible and professional. Whenever we needed anything he was immediately responsive and accommodating. Highly recommend staying here.

    Jordan2014-11-15T00:00:00Z
  • The place is really cute. Plenty of space and close distance to a lot if you like to walk or bike. The neighborhood area is rough and there is a lot of homeless and drugs in the area but it is pretty safe for the most part.

    Cameron2018-06-17T00:00:00Z
  • Super provider. The apartment is well situated in the 'middle' of SF and it is exactly how was pictured & described. There are plenty of convenient establishments around the vicinity of the apartment to make life easy. Just take time to explore. The apartment is clean and neat and well spaced out. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay there. It really feels like a home away from home due to its coziness. Jerry is an effective and pleasant host even though we weren't able to meet. Imagine if he was around in person :). Definitely will come back and stay here when the opportunity arises for us to be in SF again. This apartment and host is highly recommended.

  • Very good location and easy to find, however the listing says free street parking which is not correct as it’s limited to certain times. The room size looked bigger in the photos, however just fit the double bed in with very limited space to move around. The private bathroom however was very nice and more spacious. The room was very expensive for the size, it is at best somewhere to sleep, not recommended if you plan to spend much time in the room. There was a nice shared social area, and very close to tram/trolley station.

  • Our stay here was phenomenal!! We booked this last minute on our trip to San Fran and could not have had a better experience. The space was beautiful clean and stylish and the location was amazing! I would stay here again and would recommend this place to anyone! As long as you’re fine not having a kitchen and being in a smaller space then it’s perfect! There are great restaurants around the area and transit was easy to use to get to everywhere we wanted to go! Check in and check out were easy!! Overall fantastic experience

  • Very stylish space in a cool neighbourhood. I very much enjoyed my stay. However, I had room #6 which is quite small and has a private bathroom across the hall which wasn't an issue for me but might be for you. The bed was great, which was good because it takes most of the room.

    Dennis2019-06-14T00:00:00Z
  • Im disappointed that there was separate bathroom. The window was going to the hallway and not outside, creating such bad air quality. This room shouldn’t really qualify for a bedroom. The bed was too big for the room, so there were no extra space for moving around. The towels were new but not washed so there were so much lint on the towels. That was uncomfortable. I also didn’t like that there were now cleaning every day in the room. Overall an average stay. The only good thing was Netflix on the tv and the location.

    Kjetil2019-04-30T00:00:00Z
  • Small but comfortable and very clean room in a great location. Check-in, luggage storage, and amenities are great. The private bathroom is quite nice, but do note that it is located directly across the hall from the room. Overall would highly recommend.

This building borders several neighborhoods including theTenderloin neighborhood which is deep in San Francisco History and on the nitty-gritty side. That being said, there are also many famous tourist attractions close by such as the cable cars and Ferry Building. There is a great mall nearby called the West Field Shopping Center. Some of our favorite restaurants and bars within walking distance include Brenda's French Soul Food, Borobudur (Indonesian) and Bourbon and Branch (an original speakeasy).
  • Central, close to CBD, spacious, accessible and clean apartment. Rather sparsely furnished but adequate. Rough neighbourhood, and very noisy especially at night. The questions were answered promptly and efficiently.

  • We are a family of four and we really like the place. Everything was as described. Our room was a bit small, but there is a huge nicely decorated common room which made it up for it. We also liked the location very much. There are lots of little shops, cafes and restaurants in the area. We would stay there again.

    Daniel2019-07-18T00:00:00Z
  • The room was clean, cozy and quiet. The central location is convenient to get anywhere around San Francisco. Highly recommended!

  • Great location. Easy check in and check out. Clean and updated nicely. Hayes Valley was a new area to us and we were very pleasantly surprised! Such a cute neighborhood and the Sonder fits right in.

    Shawn2019-09-20T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time at the accommodation. Everything was clean and in a very good condition. Only the room was a bit small for four adults, we had still problems to manage our luggage. But at all we really enjoyed the stay!

    Marcel2019-07-10T00:00:00Z
  • We truly loved our stay at Sonder in Hayes Valley -- the room and shared living space was beautifully decorated, and we absolutely loved the charming neighborhood! So many adorable shops, restaurants and bars within walking distance!

  • Stayed here for a month - highly recommended. Great brand new apartment building, nicely furnished and designed apartment, instant and friendly communication with Sonder. The area (mid-market/soma) is sketchy but that's what it is if you want to be located closely to tech HQs

Relax with an evening drink on the rooftop terrace of this quiet apartment with majestic skyline views. Let the light in from two bay windows, admire monochrome art, and savor the modern charm of mirrors and metallic accents throughout.
The apartment is in the Civic Center area, close to all of the city's nightlife and sights, and just two blocks away from the SF Opera. City Hall and the SF Federal Building are only two blocks away. Three bus routes stop 200m from the front door.

  • They are great hosts! They explained us how to get around, what to see and there was great communication! The apartment was really clean with awesome decoration!

  • This place is perfect! It’s quiet and cozy. It’s extremely well located and Carlos and Graciela made it super easy for me. They went above and beyond to make me feel at home.

    Guillermo2019-05-28T00:00:00Z
  • Had a great stay at Carlos and Graciela's place. Communication was great, apartment was clean, and they were prompt to deal with small issues that came up.

  • Carlos and Graciela made me feel comfortable during my entire stay. The place is nice, clean and walking distance to everything! Will definitely stay here again!

    Scott2018-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Carlos and Graciela were great. I come to SF for work from time to time and this was the perfect base for me. Communication was so quick and friendly, and Carlos showed me all around the building and gave some helpful tips! The inside space is gorgeous - it’s decorated so beautifully. The WiFi is great and there’s a big tv with Netflix, etc. It wasn’t super clear that the bed is so close to the kitchen on the photos (it’s pretty close) - but that wasn’t an issue at all for me. The location is obviously very close to Tenderloin - so don’t expect rolling hills and flowers and you’ll be just fine. There are some really cool places close by, and it’s super easy to get anywhere you need to. Fresh towels were all provided, as well as shampoo and soap. I wasn’t even aware on booking that there was a washing machine and drier - but so happy about this! There’s also a small dishwasher. There was no detergent there for the dishwasher/laundry which was fine for me as I was staying a long while, but for shorter visits this might be an issue? Also - the fridge/freezer is HUGE. LIKE HUGE. Overall the place was great. It was clean and lovely and the hosts were so warm. Thank you!

    Poppy2018-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • I had a great time, the space was clean and stylish, it had all the essentials, Carlos and Graciela, were always available, at one time I needed a key for the garage and their response was timely, the place is small but cozy and comfortable.

  • The room here is actually part of a hotel-like space with about 8 different individually locked room in the building. There's also a common space with some nice furniture if you want to sit somewhere and work. The room itself is decorated nicely and renovated well. Location-wise, it's a short walk to some great restaurants and "treats" (Boba Guys, Smitten Ice Cream); Hayes Valley is just a great neighborhood. On the negative side, I found the walls to be thin so it was easy to hear the person next door talking on the phone and neighbors walking in and out of their rooms. Also, there was no thermostat in the room so you just had to deal with whatever temperature it was in the room (I'm sure it's centrally heated though). The TV in the room just had a Roku and it made you set up an account to use it, which I found pretty inconvenient (and I just ended up not using it). Lastly, some of the appliances in the common space didn't work. Overall, it was a nicely kept space at an amazing price. The negatives I point out though make me feel like I would pick a different space next time I come back to San Francisco.

    Robin2019-05-14T00:00:00Z
  • Sonder team was super nice and helpful! The place is perfect, very elegant shiny and very comfortable! Better than the pictures! The location can not be any better! It’s so centric and close to everything. Restaurants, grocery stores, coffee shops are downstairs. I would definitely stay there next time and I highly recommend it.

  • Nice place - clean and modern. If you are driving street parking can be challenging, but we did manage to find some free parking if you are happy to walk a block or two.

  • Stylish room in an amazing location in the centre of San Francisco. Communication and check-in were super easy and straightforward. Ideal for business travelers looking for a local and beautiful neighborhood for their stay. The street can get a little noisy, but as you’re in the middle of everything this really shouldn’t be too big of a concern. Would strongly recommend!

Located on Market ST, 1 block away from access to public transport to go anywhere in Bay Area. 10 minutes walk from the best restaurants and bars in town. --->>> VERY LIMITED FREE STREET PARKING, options below <<--- If you are planning to drive: (1) On my street, parking is metered and paid between 9am-6pm Monday-Saturday and costs $3.50 with a 2 hour maximum time limit. After that, you will have to move your car to another spot, else you will get a ticket. These streets also have street cleaning signs with days and hours posted. Please DO NOT leave your car parked on the street during cleaning hours, or you will get a ticket. (3) Another option is to park at 1510 Market St which allows public parking for $15 for 12 hours available during the day only. (4) Also “Star Park Corporation” on the intersection of Oak St and Franklin St costs $15 for 12 hours available during the day only. (5) There is also a lot opposite my building on 12th and Brady is called CityPark and costs $25 for 24 hours. (6) Other than these, you will have to drive around to find parking in nearby areas.
  • Vishal was a great host. His apartment is full equipment with all the stuff you may need during a short stay. The room fits a couple perfectly fine and has enough room for two suitcases. Vishal let us in remotely which worked perfectly fine. When we arrived we were so tired that we fell a sleep quite early, we did not hear a thing when he got back home later that night. Vishal respected our privacy and accompanied us at night. We can totally recommend stating in his apartment.

    Philipp2016-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • Vishal's place is very clean, less than 5min to public transport/food market/cafe. The self check-in instruction is very clear, and Vishal gives amazing overview of the city + specific recommendation depends on what you like. Mahi is very sweet and she trust you almost immediately and welcomes you every time you're home!

My classic Victorian house is perfectly located in SoMa! A central neighborhood where the MOSCONE center, Downtown, Civic Center BART, Breweries, Coffee Roasters, Nightclubs & delicious Restaurants are all just 5 - 15 mins walking distance, making it the perfect place for either buisness or adventure travelers! The house was recently remodeled and it has plenty of natural light. This is a calm and quiet place where you can rest, relax and enjoy my daily aromatherapy :D
YOUR ROOM: • This beautiful room has a full-size bed, super comfortable soft cotton bedsheets, a desk, a closet with hangers and a small dresser, a heater, a fan, a full body mirror behind the door and a 'Homedics' sound canceling machine. Even though THIS ROOM IS SMALL (please don't book it if this is a problem for you) and its window faces the inside of the house (the window faces the staircase, so there isn't much natural lighting but no privacy issues whatsoever), it has been well equipped to bring you all the amenities needed to make your stay as pleasant as possible. • If you are arriving before 3PM, No problem, you may use the GARAGE TO DROP YOUR BELONGINGS until anytime after 3PM check-in. And if you want to leave your luggage after 10AM check-out, feel free to leave it in the garage for as long as you need as well :) • SELF CHECK-IN after 3pm is absolutely available. You don't need to wait for me to get inside the house. ** Go to Airbnb WEBSITE to find the DOORS CODES. You can also find them on the app under check-in instructions closer to your arrival day (no cell data needed). ** Please make yourself comfortable and at home. I'll happily give you a house tour if you want once I see you. • Once you are inside the house, look for the door that has your name on it :) • If you are a LIGHT-SLEEPER, I recommend you to bring ear-plugs. The house is old so the insulation isn't the best. • Also, even though the house was recently remodeled, there are a few original parts that were kept, such as the door knobs. This means that the DOOR ONLY LOCK FROM THE INSIDE. And even though there will be 3 other guests staying at the house, they will all be highly verified and evaluated by AirBnB registration policies. Please no that I have never had any issues with security.
If you want more information regarding this issue there's plenty of material on the Internet that you can read about it.
  • Maria’s place was wonderful! Extremely convenient to just come and go via lock box. The house was very cool, bedroom space was perfect, and it was great to get to store my stuff in her garage before being able to check in. This was my first time doing a private room for airbnb and it was a great experience!

Come enjoy a night of wonder at this magical Harry Potter getaway! Enjoy the amenities of a brand new apartment building just steps away from Civic Center while nerding out in this muggle friendly Hogwarts set up. The private room sleeps up to 5 people (2 on the bottom full sized bunk, 1 on the top twin bunk, 2 on the air mattress + couch) and has its own dedicated bathroom, shower, and dressing area. You are also welcome to enjoy the gym, business center, and terrace located on the 2nd floor.
The apartment is on the top floor of the Ava building right off of Civic Center near 9th and Market. If you can't tell, I'm a huge Harry Potter fan but don't let that intimidate you if you just need a place to stay. In keeping with Airbnb's #weaccept campaign, I welcome all muggles, squibs, wizards, witches, warlocks, elves, goblins, centaurs, mermaids, and even the occasional werewolf. I do not however accommodate trolls of any kind, so be sure and register all of our guests through the platform so they are included in the review process. THE MUGGLES AT THE OFFICE OF SHORT TERM RENTAL REQUIRE I POST THE MESSAGE BELOW (and I may have been forced/hexed/jinxed/confunded into posting it as well): "Possession of a San Francisco Short-Term Residential Registration Certificate certifies that the registration certificate holder has agreed to comply with the term of the San Francisco Short-Term Residential Rental Ordinance (San Francisco Administrative Code Section 41A). This ordinance does not require an inspection of the unit by the City for potential building, housing, fire, or other code violations."
I'm just a block from Civic Center, only steps away from City Hall, the UN building, the Orpheum Theatre, the Bill Graham Center, and all of the shops, stores, and restaurants on Market Street.
  • The place is amazing, surely supported by a talented and devoted house-elf. The place is stylish, clean, quiet, comfortable, and fun. Right in the heart of the city. Thank you, Collin!

  • Collin's place was great! It doesn't really matter if you aren't a Harry Potter fan, it's just the theme of the room. It's got a large closet, large spacious bathroom, and a clean comfy bunkbed. Collin was a fantastic host, the type to make you feel like instant friends. His pets Lana and Oscar were cuties. Definitely will be back!

  • I had a great stay at Collin’s place. Super clean and close to everything. Space is exactly as shown. I would definitely stay here again.

  • This room was great, the bathroom is clean and check in was easy. I would stay here again even if I was not a fan of Harry Potter.

  • I had a medium-term business trip in SF, and this place was so much better than staying at a hotel. A fully-equipped kitchen so I was never hostage to restaurant food, on-site laundry, and everything else was perfect. The view south is great, especially if you catch one of those foggy nights where the lights work hard to break through.

  • Place was great! Check-in/out was a breeze. Rebecca always responded to my questions promptly and Paul (the doorman) was very friendly and helpful!

  • We stayed here for 2 months and absolutely loved it. Great location and walking distance to Hayes Valley and the MUNI. The building is very secure and we felt very safe. The apartment is very comfortable and well stocked with all kitchen essentials. Enjoyed the large soaking tub and rooftop deck & bbq.

  • I stayed there for 1 month. The apt is awesome. First, the neighborhood around Van Ness is safe (most important). The furniture are nice, and everywhere is clean. The space is very large. The location is also very convenient. 5 mins walk to BART/MUNI, and walgreen, market are just near the building.

  • Loved the area this house is in. One of the downsides was that you could hear literally everything on the street if you’re in the living room. I could also hear the upstairs neighbors walking around. Overall great experience and would recommend! Lynn was super responsive to texts and fixed the washing/drying machines pretty quickly. The problems experienced are pretty typical for sf and hard to avoid.

  • We had a wonderful stay in Lynn’s apartment. Thanks for Lynn, Mark, and Christopher helping us a lot! Wonderful location, convenient public transportation, great restaurants, and very safe. I’m sure we’ll come back Lynn’s space when I visit San Francisco next time.

  • This house is centrally-located, super-stylish and has great appointments (kitchen you can really cook in, good linens). Two fireplaces, designer furnishings and fourteen foot ceilings--yes please! Dog-friendly--YES! The proximity to great transport is not to be underestimated--you can jump on the 6, 7, F, muni and Bart all within an extremely short walk. This place is quiet at night and has everything you need. Lynn is highly responsive as a host, although you may never meet her!

  • This apartment is spacious, stylish and centrally located. I love that it's a short walk to all that Hayes Valley has to offer (shopping, great food, Biergarten, doggo park) and a short (uphill) walk to Safeway/Whole Foods and Duboce Park. It's easy to jump on the Muni, F trolleys or 6/7 to get downtown. I loved living in this apartment and was deeply saddened to leave! I lived here for six months, and while there was some construction, it was always during the day (and I was at work). Huge plus is that this apt is dog-friendly, and my dog loved the giant window to observe all the comings and goings on Haight Street. 11/10 would stay here again.
