Brand new historical renovation themed as the Poet's Library. 10-minute walk to Heinz Field.
HISTORY Our private studio apartment, nicknamed the "Poet's Library," will take you back in time to when The Hamilton was built in 1893 by Irishman William Hamilton and his wife, Mary. We themed it to be the Library to commemorate Irish poets of their time. William and Mary Hamilton emigrated from Ireland to Pittsburgh before the Civil War. Once settled, Mr. Hamilton manufactured coffins for the war, and over time his business became known as the Nation Casket Company. His excellent craftsmanship could be seen throughout the magnificent home, from the hand-crafted mantles to the winding staircase. Around the time of the home's construction, Allegheny City, where the North Side now rests, housed some of the wealthiest people in the country. Over time the wealth decreased, crippled by the Great Depression. Birgo Realty stepped into the space decades later with a plan to revitalize the Irishman's home to its past splendor. By complementing original features with modern innovations, Birgo Realty restored "The Hamilton" to honor Mr. and Mrs. Hamilton's vision. ☆ Featured in Manchester house tour two years and counting ☆ Historic Register LAYOUT AND AMENITIES - First-floor studio apartment - Brand new renovation, including kitchen and bathroom - Original woodworking from 1893 - Queen-sized bed - Full bathroom including hand soap, bathroom tissue, shampoo/conditioner, body wash, bath towels, hand towel, wash cloths, makeup cloths, etc. - Full kitchen including Keurig Compact, Folger's medium roast K-cups, non-dairy powder cream and sugar, stove, oven, microwave, fridge, spices, pots, pans, cookie sheet, cutting board, utensils, paper towels, Brita filter, etc. - Dining table - Living area complete with a Roku TV (cable TBA) chairs, a couch, coffee table, and games - Lounge (common room open to all guests and residents) Furnishings TBA - Building shared with long-term tenants PARKING - FREE street parking all around the building. • This was our very first time using air bnb. Matthew was an very good and attentive host, as listed very close to Heinz stadium and Casino. Portion of our guest consisted of my 103 yr old Grandmother, and pregnant sister (in which we were there for her wedding) so with only 4 entry steps the access was VERY convenient. However the home in our opinion is set up for a "guys weekend sports getaway" where you would not normally care or pay attention to the unappealing lowend neighborhood, leaking toilet at the base, very loose bathroom facuet fixtures, odor in the unmade bedding, candy wrappers in couch cushions, or ashtray with more than 30 cigarette buds on back porch even though no smoking is advocated. Overall there was a store close by to purchase all supplies we needed to make our stay better and the washer and dryer unit was truly a plus. Our main focus was get everything put togather so my sister could have the best wedding possible, and She did! I would recommend this home to the traveling family, but for the guys who wants a party weekend.

  • I had a group of 6 staying in Pittsburgh for family weekend at Pitt and this space was perfect for us. Spacious rooms, everything was super clean and neat. The location was perfect - a short walk to Heinz field and a short Uber ride to downtown. Ample on street parking too. Neighborhood was safe and quiet, we would def stay here again!

    Nick2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • My 3 buddies and I stayed here for the weekend. Great location for attending a Pirates game. And there are a few great bars and restaurants very close by. I have already recommended the place to others.

    Kylyn2019-06-17T00:00:00Z
  • Spacious space with three large bedrooms and a sleeper sofa. One mile away from sports stadiums and we walked to the Pirates game. Neighborhood is okay but not great. There wasn’t any bedding for the sleeper sofa. When informed, Matt dropped some off the next day.

WOW. There is no real way to describe the detail and architecture of this place. It was carriage home by millionaire’s row in the 1900s and is still a historic building in PGH. The architecture is truly amazing, not to mention the convenience today! You can walk to all the stadiums, casino, and countless bars, restaurants, and breweries! The T takes your right downtown for FREE and is less than a half mile walk.

  • First time to an ABB. Great experience. Took my 10 year old son and wife in for a Steelers game. All walkable distance. Great neighborhood. Dennis was a great host. Be back next time in Pittsburgh.

    Shawn2018-01-15T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great experience with Dennis and the Day House. Thoughtful touches abound throughout, such as pastries and fruit in the morning, coffee and energy bars throughout the day, and an overall exemplary level of attention to detail. The Parkview room was comfortable and pretty, with perhaps the best bathroom I've seen in a B&B or hotel. Dennis was very responsive, helpful, and friendly. We would definitely stay here again.

    Matthew2018-07-25T00:00:00Z
  • This home is spectacular. Dennis met us at the door and gave us a brief tour of his home and described its incredible history. Was easily walkable to Heinz Field. We highly recommend this as the place to stay in Pittsburgh. Thank you for everything.

    Mark2018-07-01T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was so easy, even when I had to update check-in times thanks to another winter storm. Room overlooks a beautiful park, but still just minutes from downtown. I was worried about parking, but there were always plenty of places on the street.

    Sarah2018-03-22T00:00:00Z
  • Dennis was a gracious and helpful host and his house is beautiful and comfortable. The Northside location is historic and convenient to all parts of Pittsburgh.

    Dennis2019-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • Dennis was incredibly kind, eager to chat with us about things to do Pittsburgh, and willing to do whatever it takes to make our stay as nice as possible.

    Angus2017-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • Forgive me, but I am about to rave. Being Dennis' guest at his magnificently appointed home is like stepping back into a scene from The Age of Innocence. His 19th Century row house is spectacular--with period furniture, and decorated with the savviness of an art enthusiast. The house overlooks a park by Olmsted, who designed Central Park, and our room had a marble-tiled bathroom that was as sumptuous as anything I've experienced at 5-star hotels. We woke up to a spread of fruit, muffins and a Keurig coffee maker, and read for an hour in the splendid living room. In the evening we walked to Casellula--into a book signing by renowned authors, and next morning walked to the Warhol Museum. We never knew Pittsburgh to be this grand! Thank you, Dennis, for your guidance and for the experience!

    Zora2017-05-17T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at the Historic Day house was absolutely amazing! Dennis was the most attentive and gracious host. He greeted us at the door and even provided a bottle of wine on the house. He definitely made it a special stay for a special occasion my Wife's birthday. The B&B was aesthetically stunning and we felt as royalty our entire stay. The bathroom was luxurious to say the least with a huge shower and jacuzzi tub. He had all the amenities WIFI, TV and cable, refrigerator etc. We are hoping to do business with Dennis in the future, as this was a great stay at a great place! Many blessings Dennis and thanks again

  • One of our favorite Airbnbs! Greg is a fantastic host. Excellent communicator and flexible. He provides an in-depth recommendations list which was a huge help...we tried several of the places he mentioned. Greg also left us some excellent wine, such a thoughtful extra touch. The Electric Shop is spotless! Very well maintained. Super cute design that is extremely efficient; no wasted space. The bathroom is big for a place of this size, with a huge walk-in shower. Everything at Greg’s place is top notch from the linens to the towels to the furnishings. The location is a big plus. Right in the heart of the Northside and walking distance to War Streets neighborhood and a huge park. Also walking distance to the stadiums. We would definitely stay here again. The Electric Shop added so much to our getaway weekend in Pittsburgh, so thankful we stayed here.

    Shannon2019-06-02T00:00:00Z
  • Greg’s Place in Pittsburgh was absolutely perfect. The details of his home were lovely - from the decor, high-end appliances, artwork and small thoughtful touches - there is even a Sonos Sound bar! (Website hidden by Airbnb) have to mention how brightly lit his place is too, just amazing. Staying at Greg’s place “made” our trip! Great home and fantastic location. We walked everywhere including our stroll to Heinz Field to watch the Steelers on Monday Night Football! It was just perfect. We would definitely recommend Greg’s place. Looking forward to coming back again soon !

  • WOW! This place is beautiful, and the location is amazing, especially for Steelers games! Greg was awesome, helpful, and his home is superb; clean, comfortable, stylish. Will 100% recommend. Will try to stay there next time I go to a game, worth every dollar.

  • Great place to stay!

    Florian2019-07-19T00:00:00Z
  • I can’t say enough great things about Greg and this place! Painstakingly restored, this is a high-end, beautiful and unique home. Everything is high quality. It is a small space but efficiently laid out. We stayed in April so we got some outdoor time in out on the deck, which was lovely. The neighborhood is great, very safe and up and coming, now is a great time to visit before it comes the next overcrowded Brooklyn. Plenty of nice restaurants and shops walking distance. Greg is a top notch host with pride and connections in his neighborhood, he’ll be your friend for life. Absolutely planning to stay here again.

    Ron2019-04-22T00:00:00Z
  • My wife and I really enjoyed our stay at Greg's Electric Shop! The place is very stylish and well thought out. I would much rather stay in Greg's place over any hotel. We were pleasantly surprised to find the complimentary wine when we arrived.

    Suzanne & Rick2019-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Greg was an amazing host who knows how to accommodate guests. The home was absolutely gorgeous. The wine and beer was a nice added touch. The location and neighborhood were spot on. It was walking distance to so many bars, restaurants, parks and attractions. We loved exploring the streets and looking at all the beautiful buildings. Greg was super quick to respond to any questions we had and pointed us in all the right directions of places to visit in the neighborhood. We will definitely book his place again! We already can’t wait to go back!!!

    Katy2019-08-02T00:00:00Z
  • The house was perfect for our family. Stylish, relaxing, clean, everything kept in great shape. The location was ideal with several great options to eat within a ten minute walk. It was easy for our little kids to make the walk over to the Childrens Museum as well as to PNC Park. The host reached out to us before our arrival and was quick to respond to any question we had. We were very happy with the place.

Nearby is the best Thai restaurant in the City, other cafes with IPO beers, Georgios Italian restaurant, and Peppi's sports (Website hidden by Airbnb) well as some fast-food places(Subway, Wendy's, McDonalds, and Taco Bell). Martha Graham and Mary Cassatt were born here and Stephen Foster lived here when his dad was the Mayor of Allegheny City. This is centrally located to many of the Interstates. Walk to the Downtown Pittsburgh in 20 minutes.
  • Great stay

    Meg2019-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • Unfortunately, we had a family emergency and were not able to stay as long as we had planned, but for the time we spent there, it completely met our needs. Jack is a great host and provided very helpful information about the neighborhood and his communication was outstanding!

    Khris2019-03-24T00:00:00Z
  • A nice traditional place located at the hear of Pittsburgh. Very nice amenities and home like feel. The only little bump, was an Airbnb message that was not delivered to me with last minute check-in instructions. Besides that, my stay was perfect!!

    Josue2018-06-10T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely house. Jack is a wonderful, caring host. He is so knowledgeable about the city and things to do. The rooftop deck is awesome!

    Linda2017-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • Jack’s home is enchanting. It is a tall, narrow, Victorian row house in North Side, very near (easy walking distance) the sports stadiums and downtown. The best feature in my opinion is the rooftop terrace....great views, in the morning AND evening. Jack thoughtfully provides beverages and snacks if you forget your own. I have stayed here previously, and will definitely stay again!

    Rose2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • Simple and clean accommodations. Easy access to Pittsburgh's downtown area.

    Helene2018-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • This place is in a great neighborhood. We parked the car and walked EVERYWHERE. It is on a not too bust street that has a very walk-able, friendly feel. The local food and drink establishments a block or two away became out hang outs. Everyone we met in the area was friendly. Jack is a great host and knows a lot about the area. It would have been interesting to just spend a morning over a cup of coffee learning about the neighborhood and its history. Jack really cares about keeping the area "local" and historical and his place reflects it. Jack makes sure you know where everything you need is in the home and is very accessible if something comes up that he might not have covered. The view from the roof is very nice. We only got the tour as we often closed the local eatery or watering hole down while chatting with locals. The nearby park is a great place to walk. Lots of families and laughter. It is places like this and people like Jack that keep me coming back to AirBnB.

  • Great spot for a good sized group to stay for a Pirates game!

  • Nice place to stay. The cricket sound in the evening was crazy. Unit a little noisy in the morning with trucks going by constantly.

  • Plenty of space and super clean. We loved having 2 huge bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms. Very quiet neighborhood, just about a 20 minute walk to PNC park. We did use Uber/Lyft a few times. The fare was about $8 one way for 4 people. Thank you, Matthew for the beautiful accommodation.

    Joanne2019-08-08T00:00:00Z
  • This is a well-located and well-appointed place for a group to stay. There were 4 of us, a group of friends all traveling solo. With the many available beds, there was no doubling up needed, with room to spare. The bathrooms and kitchen are gorgeous -- new and modern. The snacks provided in the kitchen were a nice touch. TV in living room has Roku installed for all streaming needs. It is a few blocks a street with nice bars and restaurants and easily accessible to PNC Park and Heinz Field. It would be nice if soap and shampoo had been provided, but the beds were clean, and there were basically all of the amenities that are expected at an AirBnB. Matthew responded immediately to 2 messages on the day of check-in and that is always appreciated. A great place for a group to stay. Recommended!

  • We had a great time! Great communication!

    Jessica2019-03-24T00:00:00Z
  • Matthew was great to deal with and quick to respond to questions. House is in a great location for anyone looking to be close to Heinz Field or PNC park. Would def stay there again if we returned to Pittsburgh.

    Nathan2019-04-21T00:00:00Z
  • Great host, easy communication. Place is nice, spacious and clean. Great location too, metro ride was free to downtown, the station is 10 minutes walk from the apartment, and two stops away from the center of Pittsburgh. Will definitely recommend it!

    Irina2019-04-18T00:00:00Z
  • Matthew’s place was spacious and comfortable. We loved the flexibility of the sleeping arrangements and the simple but functional set up of the whole place. We had everything we needed. Check- in and check- out were a breeze. But the real star of this place is the location- easy to find, close to SO much great stuff (stadiums, museums). Oh, and the off- street parking was amazing, too!

  • We never actually got the chance to stay here but Cate and Skip were super great to work with

    Caroline2019-01-22T00:00:00Z
  • Skip + Cate’s place was wonderful! Spacious, clean, as described, and in a very convenient location. We were only in town for a few days and didn’t rent a car so we were delighted to find that we could walk to any and everything we wanted to do. PNC Park, the Roberto Clemente bridge, Primanti Bros, and quirky museums and attractions like Bicycle Heaven, the Mattress Factory, and Randyland were all walkable from Skip + Cate’s place. There are also delicious restaurants, a cute coffee shop, and a great park all right around the corner! We had a most enjoyable time and would be more than happy to stay here again on our future trips to Pittsburgh!

    Caroline2019-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • I went to Pittsburgh for a guys weekend to watch baseball at PNC. It was a great value compared to other options near the ballpark. We walked down to the ballpark each day and either walked or took a short Uber back. Allegheny Sandwhich Shop (literally a few hundred feet away) was a great place to grab breakfast. Cate was quick to answer and respond when I called during check in with questions.

Pittsburgh’s Historical Manchester District will set the background to your stay in this modern unit. Feel the Pittsburgh love at Faulsey Flats your personal piece of Historic Pittsburgh.
Built in 1883 Located on Pittsburgh’s North Shore in Historic Manchester and minutes to Heinz Field, PNC Park, Stage AE, Rivers Casino and Allegheny General Hospital. The North Side is convenient to all major highways within seconds. The Pittsburgh metro Red and Blue lines end in Manchester and is a short 10 minute walk to the station from Faulsey Flats. This unit is full of light, high ceilings and modern & vintage furnishings. One dog allowed with prior notice and $50 a month pet fee.
Fast food joints just blocks away. Corner grocery one block down the street. There are many great restaurants on Western Ave just blocks from the location. Be sure to stop at The Modern Cafe, Peppi's and Benjamins!
  • The couch in the living room is actually a very uncomfortable futon. The internet is also very unreliable. The apartment was very cute and nice but was just not comfortable for someone who would spend a lot of time there or for someone who needs internet for school especially long term. Also outside of business hours it was hard to get in touch with someone at the managing agency. I had to call a locksmith to get into my apartment after I had locked my keys inside because I was told the company did not unlock doors during off hours if at all.

    Brooke2019-05-26T00:00:00Z
  • During my time in Pittsburgh, I had the chance to stay in two of Fred’s units for the past seven months. Both of which were very clean, comfortable and very much worth the price. Fred and his leasing agent were a pleasure to deal with and whenever I had an issue, it was easy to get in contact and the issue was resolved immediately. The area was awesome too! Close to some great food spots and the proximity to Downtown is perfect as well. If you’re new to Pittsburgh and you need a GREAT place to stay while you’re figuring things out, I 100% recommend Faulsey Flats.

    Jake2019-04-04T00:00:00Z
  • Working out of town for several months can be stressful... Finding Fred's place made it a much more pleasurable experience. The apartment is tasteful, clean and well appointed, the building is beautiful and I loved the feel of historic Manchester. The neighborhood is quiet and always felt safe. Communication with Fred and Vivian was quick and easy. Would definitely book again if I were coming back to Pittsburgh for an extended amount of time!

Historic / Contemporary 1860's Home. Nearly 3,000 square feet to enjoy! Well-behaved dogs are welcomed. Please see the "Other Things to Know" section for dog guidelines.
Welcome! We will be very glad to host you and your pups, and will do whatever we can to make your stay a great experience. We do this to financially support the work of Agape Africa Fund, which works on behalf of the medical missionaries who serve at Bongolo Hospital in Gabon, Africa. About Our Home: The main level offers a contemporary open floor plan between the spacious living and dining rooms, and the modern kitchen. Original hardwood floors, tall windows, and floor-to-ceiling brick chimneys are contrasted by the modern furnishings. The kitchen has a large marble island with breakfast bar and lots of counter space. Everything that you need for cooking is here! A convenient half bath has been added on this level. 2nd floor: colorful media room with surround sound, short-throw projector for movies and online viewing (there is an Amazon Firestick) on a 120-inch full-wall screen (sorry, we have no regular TV's in any other room). The large master bedroom has a queen size bed and ensuite bathroom with double sinks, Corian countertop, and a luxurious walk-in shower. Also, there is a full hallway bathroom and 2nd-floor laundry. 3rd Floor: bedroom with a full-size, bathroom with a shower, and a large office. Not quite as "perfectly finished", but still very nice and comfortable! There is window air conditioning throughout our home and many of the rooms have ceiling fans so things stay quite comfortable most of the time! (No central A/C at this point). While our entire home is very comfortable and safe, there are details throughout to be eventually finished. It is a very long labor of love when you have an old house!
Located just across the Allegheny River from downtown Pittsburgh and a short walk up the hill from Heinz Field, this beautiful home is in 'Allegheny West', an Historic district full of beautiful homes and mansions, and is an up-and-coming restaurant and brew pub area.
  • Doug has a beautiful home within the Northside of Pittsburgh. Check-in was very simple and Doug was kind enough to message me asking how everything was going so far and to help ensure we had our license plate registered to avoid getting a ticket. I highly recommend staying here.

  • Lovely, unique home that shows the owners personal style. Located very close to both the pirates and steelers stadium. Would love to stay here again.

  • Great place! Doug's house is conveniently located to neighborhood shops and restaurants. It is dog-friendly and there is a park a few blocks away. The house was beautiful and incredibly comfortable. Doug was was always quick to respond and made check-in and check-out easy. I highly recommend.

  • A gem of a home with a wonderful host in a very cool neighborhood. We loved the place so much we quickly decided we wanted to stay another night, and Doug responded right away to help us extend our visit. His big, beautiful old house makes a perfect home base to explore from, and the neighborhood is great (amazing park nearby, close to the stadiums, the National Aviary, and lots of great restaurants and bars). Our dog loved it, too. Can’t wait to come back!

  • This home is spacious, immaculate, beautifully decorated and comfortable. The location was perfect for other family members to meet up and then Uber to our destinations all weekend. Parking on street was not a problem while there. Several decent eateries within walking distance. Area was quiet and felt safe. Doug was wonderful to interact with. Definitely a great place to stay while touring around Pittsburgh. My entire family are now considering Doug's place for future visits:0

  • The north shore home was a beautiful space! A lot of charm and thought is put into this home.

    Tais2018-04-22T00:00:00Z
  • Let me start by saying if you are reading this review to decide between this place and another. Go ahead and book your stay with Doug now. This was probably the most effortlessly beautiful stay we have ever had travelling. Doug is phenomenal. He takes great care to think of everything you might need and was even waiting for us with a smile when we arrived to check in. He accommodated far past what Air BnB offers or allows and is excellent with communication. His home is large and just a complete gem in the Pittsburgh area. We hardly drove, the home was so convenient to everything. Historical and made of real brick the home itself is just beautiful to look at itself. We enjoyed the house so much we didn't care to look for too many activities seeing as we were planning to already attend the Steeler's VS Raven's game. We walked down the street for deep dish pizza and down to the park area by the water across from Heinz Field. Aside from the game, we were content talking and playing board games inside at the large table in the dining area. From the heated blankets, to towels, water and even space heaters we did not want to leave. We arrived to a charming Christmas tree, beautiful original hardwood floors and lots of pretty art and hanging within the home. The windows to the street are just gorgeous . I'm an avid cook, but seeing as we drove from Atlanta, I did not cook this visit, but should I have needed to, Doug has a grand kitchen with utensils and tools. The bathrooms are bright and inviting, Doug even leaves a heater in each for you to utilize. The Projector room was awesome, we brought a firestick to connect and enjoyed using the big pretty screen. My boyfriend a very country bumpkin and huge sports fan, was even blown away with the homes charm. he fell in love so much so he would like to come back to Pittsburgh and has already stated "We are only booking with Doug" HA :) There was not a time we could not contact Doug, he even offered to arrive and give us his parking spot . Doug, thank you for being such a sweet person. You are a true treasure and blessing! Your home was a great part of our trip and added memories of a beautiful visit to Pittsburgh we will not forget! Your thoughtfulness and generosity is very much appreciated and we look forward to booking again with you soon! <3

Wonderful roof deck ! ...with views of Pittsburgh. On this block -lots to do, see, eat, brewery! Central location; walk to Downtown, park, walking/jogging trails, stadiums, museums, National Aviary, Science Center. A real Victorian 22 room home and roof deck with a City-feel of skylines, sitting above the trees, sunsets over the Ohio Valley, and moon rising. A second double bed guest room in this house is available under the title: "Pittsburgh's Exciting North Shore".
My home is a townhouse with a roof deck near Allegheny Commons Park in National Register Historic District Allegheny West; minutes to downtown Pittsburgh...Allegheny General Hospital, Heinz Field and PNC Park. Near River Heritage Trail for biking and walking. Minutes to the free subway to downtown, museums, stadiums. Guests arrive through the security-coded front door and live on the second floor with window views into the tree tops. Parking is handy where the host parks or in front of the house. The bus stops across the street. Restaurants: Nikki's Thai, Georgio's Italian, Peppi's, Lindo's Greek, and Biers Pub, and Allegheny Sandwich Shoppe. Large private 2nd floor guest room with adjoining bath, soaking tub, double bed, dresser, refrigerator, microwave, kitchenette, desk. Allegheny West National Register Historic District is the name of this smallest neighborhood in the City of Pittsburgh. The variety of architecture is wonderful spanning from 1840 to recent. Gertrude Stein was born here. Andy Warhol's brother has a business here and the one-man artist Warhol Museum is minutes away. Martha Graham was born and raised here as was Andrew Carnegie. Large historic trees dot the Allegheny Commons Park across the street. 19th Century architecture, Stadiums, walking distance to Downtown and many museums and restaurants/cafes! Guests can walk or jog through the beautiful Commons, and over the Roberto Clemente Bridge or Rachel Carson Bridge into downtown and Point Park and the Ft. Pitt Museum.
  • We spent most of our time out of the room viewing the city but the room was clean, the host was very hospitable, and the space was exactly as described.

    Ashleigh2018-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • I chose this place so that I could walk to downtown, and not have to rent a car. I sometimes instead took the T downtown for a shorter walk (which is free, while the buses aren't.) Although I wouldn't personally describe this neighborhood as fun (it is historic), it is convenient with several good and reasonable restaurants on the same street. The house does have a quirky layout, it's feels like a former boarding house with lot of stairs and hallways. (Be sure you can carry a suitcase up a good flight of stairs.) I love that the front door has a combination entry - no keys to lose! The room is perfectly clean, comfortable and private, it and the bathroom adjacent even have cool old-fashioned locks on the doors. It's great that the room is so well equipped. (Could just use a coffee maker IMO.) The room heater works well and the windows open easily. The only thing I didn't care for was the shower, it is in a tub with curtains that almost surround it which tend to blow in on a person due to air currents caused by the water flow. Maybe a better shower head, which would be nice, would help. I saw the roof deck, I'm sure it would be great to hang out there in good weather. It's something like four stories up! It's great that Jack is enthusiastic about his house and its history.

    Karen2014-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • What can I say? Jack made me feel totally at home and is a wealth of knowledge regarding the history of Pittsburgh. He's a terrific conversationalist, mixes a mean gin & tonic, and really couldn't have been a more gracious host. The room was perfectly comfortable, and his home is located in the heart of Allegheny West…walkable to the Mexican War Streets, Manchester, the stadiums, downtown, or whatever else one might be interested in. I really lucked out when I booked his room. Thanks for everything, Jack.

    James2016-04-05T00:00:00Z
  • Great neighborhood, walking distance to beautiful park, Warhol museum, downtown, and cute neighborhood with good restaurants. Jack is a flawless host, room is a good size, very clean, easy to come and go (keypad lock), house is shared with Jack and an apartment tenant, but no noise problems. I was traveling through Pittsburgh on my bicycle, and Jack offered safe, indoor bicycle storage, as well as knowledge of the local trails. A great experience.

    Andrew2013-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • Jack was an absolute pleasure! He was super thoughtful with amenities and tips on the area! He set us up with free parking, and we were really comfortable in the room. Although it was a busy weekend for us, we were really pleased with the stay, and if we come back, we'd be more than happy to come back and stay again

    Bridget2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • This was our first ever experience with Airbnb, and therefore my first review (I’m reviewing for my husband and myself). I’m going to break my review into three parts- the neighborhood, the house, and our host. First, I had a few doubts about not being in the middle of everything, meaning downtown Pittsburg. However, I quickly fell in love with this gorgeous neighborhood, consisting of mature trees, appealing architecture, and an overall safe feeling. I quickly realized that it’s a respite from the hustle and traffic of the South Side (downtown). In addition, we found that it’s in easy walking distance to lots of great things. We walked to the Andy Warhol Museum; it was amazing. We were about a block or so from the National Aviary (sorry we didn’t see it on this short trip). There was a park, a Children’s Museum, and loads of outdoor sculpture, water features, etc. Even better, it was a short and fairly easy drive to the other things we wanted to see- those not on the North Shore. The house itself is a work of art. I’m not sure of its age, but they definitely don’t build them like that anymore- I would guess the house to be a hundred plus years (Victorian?). That’s a positive in my book. However, it’s appropriately modernized. We had a gorgeous, but smallish bathroom, which seemed appropriate to the house. Our bedroom was lovely, with four huge windows, and a nice kitchenette- a sink, counter, and fridge. The only thing that could make me happier would be a drip coffee pot. We had room to relax, keep our stuff, and actually spent time in our room, since it was so nice. On top of that, there’s a gorgeous rooftop deck, actually a double-decker; you can literally see for miles, including the entire city skyline. Our host, Jack, was superb. He made us feel at home, and is very knowledgeable about the city, local history, where to eat, etc- all things of interest to us. He is very accommodating. He even wrote a short, and interesting history of the room. He made sure we were covered with the parking, providing us with a permit (parking is a half block away and free, but we were able to unload right in front). I was really impressed with his dedication to his guests on the second day- we had trouble with a tire, and he offered to take my husband and the tire to have it repaired – luckily we didn’t need to, but the offer stood. I would say on every count this was an excellent experience. I would return to the fun North Shore anytime to visit Pittsburgh, which is an amazing city, with something for everyone.

    Sue2016-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay with Jack. The location alone was worth every penny we spent, which wasn't much considering it was a home football game and within a 15-20 minute walk to the stadium! Such a cute neighborhood, and several amazing eateries within walking distance. The parking lot across the street was one for tailgating on game day, so that was fun to walk around over there and chat with the locals. There's also a Family Dollar and a nice park within a few blocks. Everything was just so accessible and walkable. Fantastic location! The room was great for our 3 night stay, but would want more space if staying longer than that. Jack provided beverages in our fridge, which was very nice. Jack was very accommodating and happy to provide information on things to do, where to go, etc. There's a great rooftop deck with beautiful views! We spent about 20 minutes up there before going tailgating on game day. There was a guest staying in the loft on the 4th floor, which you have to go through to get to the deck, so we didn't go up as much as we might have otherwise. Jack also gave us a parking pass to park on the street parallel to his, so we didn't pay a dime for parking, which was wonderful! We left our car there all weekend and walked everywhere or used uber. We are already thinking about when our next Pittsburgh trip will be, and we will be staying with Jack again next time we're in the area!

    Sydney2016-10-25T00:00:00Z
  • Jack was an excellent host. This was the first time my girlfriend and I used Air BNB so we weren't sure what to expect, but Jack exceeded our expectations. The room was clean and the AC was cranking when we arrived. Upon our arrival, Jack helped carry our bags in, and after a quick tour of his beautiful 1870 home, gave us a little history lesson of the house and area. He also gave us recommendations for places to visit and eat, and provided literature for it. Although we didn't see him after our initial meet due our busy itinerary and previous commitments on Jack's part, he made us feel at ease and welcome into his home. All in all, we were extremely pleased with our visit, and if we ever make it back to the Burgh, rest assured Jack will be the first place we look to book.

Beautiful 1500 sq ft loft apartment located in a old flashlight factory in the historic northside neighborhood. Walking distance to both the stadiums, night life, casino, and museums! Open floor plan with original hardwood floors and exposed brick walls. Artistic Interior design inspired by recycle and reuse materials. Huge state of the art kitchen. Beautiful bathroom with Italian marble and walk in shower. Complementary Prosecco and many other amenities included.
If you have ever wondered what loft living in a real warehouse would be like this is the space for you! Original hardwood floors and brick walls make the perfect backdrop for a recycled and reused esthetic. That topped with the owners creative vision to custom make the chandelier, the coffee table, and the unique sink and tub interpretation is a must see to believe.
Walking, walking, walking! If you love to walk to places without the hassle of parking a car this is the place. We choose this neighborhood for just that reason. We wanted to walk to restaurants, bars, and cultural events. Plus, the close proximity to downtown, which you can walk to, is a bonus to a beautiful, historic, neighborhood with a phenomenal park 2 blocks from the loft.

  • Unique industrial glam experience. Eclectic renewed, reused, & repurposed decor. Gracious and accommodating hosts. We loved the place so much we cancelled our restaurant reservations and ordered takeout from a Thai restaurant around the corner. We were very pleased with this venue for our anniversary getaway.

Either way is fine. The Bed in the room with The Kitchenette, is a “Victorian Queen” in size. It’s smaller than a traditional Queen but larger than Full. It’s listed as a Queen Bed since there’s no selection for a “Victorian Queen”. Victorian Queens are 5 inches shorter and 6 inches narrower. The room without the kitchenette has a reproduction of a Victorian Queen but is the size of a Traditional Queen Bed. The rooms have Fireplaces but the back bedrooms fireplace is blocked off and the front bedrooms fireplaces gas is turned off. Anyone that lives in the midwest and east coast, know we suffered unusual high winds this winter which caused damage to my fireplaces. So I turned off the gas to all fireplaces at the source for safety reasons. My house doesn't have central air so there are radiators for heat and window air conditioners for cold in the summer. Each morning, I provide a continental breakfast which includes a variety of items. I’m conscientious of the dietary constraints, special needs and allergies my guests may have so I ask in advance if there are any. I make every effort possible to provide options and ensure their safety. I purchase Organic foods when possible. I’m educated for the following types of allergies, special needs and diets: Gluten-free, Lactose intolerant, Milk Proteins, Corn, Soy, Peanuts, Eggs, Dairy, Wheat, Red Meat, Tomato, Onions, Fish, ShellFish, environmental, Diabetic, Different types of Vegan: 1. Vegetarian 2. Lacto-Vegetarian 3. Ovo-Vegetarian 4. Semi-Vegetarian 6. Flexitarian/flexan 7. Pescatarian 8. Pollotarian 9. Vegan The coffee starts brewing at 8:00 am and all the perishable items are brought out and available by 8:00 am. Breakfast is not provided earlier than 8:00 am. If you want coffee or tea sooner, just hit the start button on the CoffeeMachine and or push up the button on the Tea maker and help yourself. I prepare the Coffee and water the night before so it’s ready to go at the push of a button. The Non-perishable items are always available in the dining room. All rooms are Clean, decorated with antiques or reproductions, have the original hardwood floors (there’s carpet in 2 areas where I couldn’t restore the hardwoods), crown molding, some have Wainscoting, some with fireplaces, and some rooms have the original gas lamps that were converted to electric. I originally bought my house to run as a full service B&B with all the amenities of including gourmet breakfast, daily room cleaning, nightly bed turn down (yes, the chocolate on your pillow) and a daily Happy Hour with wine, cheese and crackers served in the parlor. I did open and run my full service B&B which turned out to be too much work for an older single woman. After a year, I decided to try the Airbnb model. I stayed at a couple before I booked my first guest. I’ve found that I have a place that’s in between your average B&B and an average Airbnb listing. The Airbnb concept is two fold: 1. Provide people with additional income renting those guest rooms that friends or family stay in every few years. 2. Provide a more affordable means of lodging. Airbnb ranges from things such as tents and treehouses priced around $15 a night in rural area’s all the way to beautiful 4 story Victorian mansions providing 95% of the amenities that 5 Star Hotels provide. So, although the business model is the same in each case, it provides a wide variety to Customers (guests) looking for something that fits their needs, budget and lifestyle. My guests are immediately immersed into the ambiance of a beautiful old Victorian era home and neighborhood with that historical value that only a 143 year old home may provide. The guests reap most of a B&B benefits without paying the price that other B&B’s in the cities charge. Many times less than 1/4 what people will pay in designated B&B’s, Hotels or Motels. It’s really good when you can get a 5 Star experience paying 2-3 star motel prices. The big advantage more than the historical beauty and service is the location. Location, location, location! That’s what is usually the most important thing. I'm the closest Airbnb, B&B, Motel or Hotel to Heinz Field. I'm also centrally located to all areas and events in the city of Pittsburgh. I’m only blocks from everything once you jump on the T (The Pittsburgh Light Rail) that’s a few blocks from my house, free and will take you within blocks to most city attractions, events and popular area’s. You’ll enjoy my home and in particular this suite if you have a need for 2 rooms. Just remember to bring things to drink and snacks that would normally need refrigeration but you can’t get that in most places you stay but with the kitchenette, you have that along with a microwave. The privacy, views and tranquility is what you’ll find with this suite in the city atmosphere. I HAVE A TOTAL OF 5 LISTINGS IN MY HOME: Links to the other 4 rooms are below. Copy and paste the URL to display the each listing. ROOM 1 https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/15370037?s=51 ROOM 2 https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/183298?s=51 ROOM 3 https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/14157821?s=51 ROOM 5 https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/14572449?s=51 ———————$$$$$$$$$ This room is located on the entire (what I call floor 3 1/2. There is a 3rd floor at the top of the 3rd flight of stairs, currently not in use. This suite is up another flight of stairs which consists of 6 steps to floor, 3 1/2). One Room in the Suite is ROOM 4, it’s in the front of the house and has a view of Mt. Washington and Downtown Pittsburgh (gorgeous!). Since you’re approximately 60 feet from the ground floor, it stays rather quiet even though the street gets busy at times during the day, events, Football and Baseball games. The other Room in the suite is called ROOM 3 and faces the back courtyard. Behind my house is an historic church that has one of the largest collections of Tiffany glass in the world. It's listed as an historical landmark and you may want to see if the doors are open. If not, walk around the grounds and check out the beautiful exterior that contains much detail, you’ll see more and more craftsmanship and architectural nuisance’s each time you look at it. I’ve lived here almost 8 years and every now and then, I’ll notice something I never saw before, it’s an amazing church. That in itself is an awesome experience. The Private bathroom is just down the hall on Floor 3 through the empty room. Approximately 20 feet from each door in the suite. Since there’s no one on the 3rd floor, it’s an entirely private 3 and 3 1/2 floors, the rooms are together oddly in this 143 year old house. It’s quiet during the day and night for a house in the city but the rooms are up high and the brick walls are thick. You will hear noise but it’s not like you would expect. This suite is great for Family’s, two couples, a few friends, etc. perfect to visit Pittsburgh and have an entire 3rd floor suite with its own bath and small kitchenette. As a reminder, I supply all bedding and towels. Just bring yourself, suitcase and toiletries. I even have toiletries if you forget them. I have a long list of amenities so don’t worry if you forget or need something. If all else fails, there’s a 7-11 diagonally from my house, approximately 60 yards on the opposite side of th
The house is located in one of the oldest neighborhoods in Pittsburgh. Also known for the original millionaires of Pittsburgh. My home is 143 years old. The neighborhood has all Victorian and row homes built in the 1830's to 1900. Rich in history and culture. The neighborhood is quiet in the evening and very safe. There's a mixture of businesses, family homes, and apartments. The owner of the Steelers lives one block from my house. Art Rooney Sr. Lived in the neighborhood most of his adult life. I have a cat named Sam. He's a big old guy. 30 pounds and 15 years old. Sam is very friendly and welcomes all my guests when he's out of my room. I recently rescued a baby kitten that's 14 weeks old as of 10-20-16. He's very shy and doesn't go near people. Sam is allowed to roam freely throughout the house, so if you don't want Sam in your room, make sure to close the door. Please make sure NOT to leave doors to the outside open, Sam's an escape artist and will run out when he gets the chance. I'm sure the baby kitten will try the same, especially if he follows Sam. Both cats are indoor only cats. I usually don't let the kitten out of my room when I have many guests. He is a terror and gets into everything. The kittens name is Kingdom. He's getting bigger and smarter and sometimes will escape from my room. If you see him, please let me know. He has no problem venturing every floor in the house, but will run if he sees someone he doesn't know, which is everyone except me. Sam usually stays with me or flops down in one location unless he's getting attention from a guest. Sometimes Sam will take a particular liking to certain guests and follow them to their room. If allowed, he'd stay until they fall asleep, once he knows they're safe, go back down to my room. I do keep my door locked when it's bedtime and have both cats with me. Sam has fallen asleep with a few of my guests. Most recently a young girl. The father left the door ajar as he was sitting on the porch. The little girl remembered that I said Sam will usually leave the room once the guests fall asleep and he knows they're OK. She pretended to fall asleep, then she really did. Her dad found them both fast asleep when he went back to the room. He texted me asking if I was looking for Sam, I was. Sam heard him come in, got up from the bed and headed back to my room. They sleep in the room with me and know when it's bedtime, usually. For those that may have allergies, my house is all hardwood floors which I keep very clean. The cats have never bothered anyone with allergies. They may bother you if Sam decides to sleep with you.
  • A historic home three blocks from Heinz field. You will not be disappointed staying here and enjoying the warmth of your host Denise. We were there for one night to visit the city and take in a Steelers game. Could not have been a better experience.

  • She waited up for my late arrival

  • This was my first ever experience with Air B&B and I can say that Denise made it an amazing trip. We came in town for a concert and had chosen her home due to its close proximity to Heinz field. She was a fantastic host and made us feel like part of the family. I know for sure that if we ever need to return to Pittsburgh we will attempt to stay with her.

  • Denise was a fantastic host. Very communicative throughout the entire process, and incredibly approachable while we were there! We couldn't believe how close the house was to Heinz Field, and the parking was free and easy. The house itself is gorgeous -- has all the charm of a Victorian house and is beautifully maintained. The room was very comfortable, and we felt welcome in all the public areas of the house. Denise set up a nice continental breakfast in the morning and provided coffee and tea. We had a great time and are hoping to have an excuse to visit Pittsburgh again soon!

  • Had a great time staying at Denises, the house was beautiful! The house was super clean and Denise was more than willing to give suggestions or direction information. Denise also had bagels and coffee available in the AM, and water bottles available. Will definitely stay again next time in Pittsburgh. House was only 10 minutes away from everything! Great location.

  • Denise's place is a dream! We were there for over a week and her house (and her hospitality) made us feel right at home in Pittsburgh. The house is very clean, well-decorated, and cozy. We had lots of lovely conversations with Denise and she gave us lots of good tips on things to do in the area. There are lots to do within walking distance to her house (several restaurants, museums, parks, the stadium, etc.) which helped supplement our touristy activities without having to rely on our rental car too much. We weren't there for any sporting events so I can't attest to how the area is during the time frame but we found the neighborhood very safe and friendly when exploring. I highly recommend staying with Denise in Pittsburgh if you get the chance!

  • Denise’s bed and breakfast is a perfect home away from home in a great location. I’m a Pittsburgh native who was back at home for the weekend, and Denise’s place was comfy and convenient. It’s walking distance to great restaurants and bars, as well as any North Shore activities. You can also take the T anywhere in the city, as there is a stop that’s 2 blocks away. Denise is a fantastic host who goes above and beyond during your stay to make sure that you’re comfortable and have everything that you want and need. She provided tons of recommendations on things to do as I hadn’t spent too much time in the north side of the city. My room was clean, and her Victorian house is absolutely beautiful! The furniture is gorgeous, and my bed was very comfy. We had a shared bathroom, but it was convenient and clean. The other people staying at Denise’s place over the weekend were great too, and my mom and I made a lot of new friends around the breakfast table. I would highly recommend Denise’s place to anyone who is spending time in Pittsburgh. Thank you Denise!! I will definitely be back!

    Kimberly2018-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • Denise's home is lovely. It is within walking distance to both the baseball and football stadiums. She will have coffee and breakfast waiting for you in the morning (as well as cold juice, etc. in the fridge-she has a chalkboard menu for you), at whatever time you'd like. Her home was clean and beautiful. You will love the old feel of the house. She lives in a nice neighborhood near a park, stores, and restaurants; also a view of a church out of the rear-facing windows. There is free parking on the street in front of the house [depending on the timing of your stay- read signs]. Also two friendly cats to say hello to. Would stay here again; enjoy the b&b in this unique home in Pitt. for any type of traveler.

  • Marta's house is a perfect location for walking to and from stadiums, casino, etc. It's ideal for groups due to its multiple bedrooms/bathrooms. If you appreciate art, the house is neatly decorated with local works. This location is an ideal substitute for expensive downtown hotels.

  • Spectacular! So, I'm a local and I've been waiting (im)patiently for this space to become available for rental, and when it did I JUMPED! The details in this space are out of this world. Elaine has such impeccably eclectic taste and it could take you days to really take in all of the art and details. You can really get an experience when you stay here. It's just so incredibly beautiful, interesting and unique. It was everything I wanted it to be and more! The open layout is a dream, the natural light un-ending, and the warmth and comfort is spot on. Elaine's space is also super close to everything you could want in Pittsburgh. Within walking distance are awesome restaurants, the stadiums, museums and the neighborhood of the North Side is a true gem in itself. Right across any bridge into the city opens you up to such culture-rich experience as well. Also--Elaine and her husband Mitchell were very quick to respond and so courteous with welcoming us into the space, having a bottle of Prosecco chilling for us as well as a guide to what was going on locally during the time we were staying. We didn't get a chance to take a dip in the hot tub but it looked wonderful and the outdoor patio/courtyard, which is private due to being closed in by all of the sides of the building. I am an Airbnb junkie and I simply CANNOT recommend this space enough!!

Newly renovated, artfully-appointed, spacious two-story, two bedroom apartment (1000+ sq. feet) located in Pittsburgh's North Side, one of the most architecturally rich and centrally-located neighborhoods in the city. Within a short walking distance to downtown, Heinz Field, PNC Park, Stage AE, The Warhol Museum, The National Aviary, local restaurants, and more (all within a 10-15 minute walk or less). Premium cable, high speed WiFi, & Bluetooth speaker included. Plus, a free parking pass!
Our two-story, two-bedroom apartment is located in Allegheny West, on Pittsburgh's Northside. Officially the smallest neighborhood in Pittsburgh, Allegheny West is home to 19th century architecture characteristic of the gilded industrial era. Originally named Allegheny City, the neighborhood was considered the gold coast of the region, and stood among the wealthiest in the world before annexation by Pittsburgh in 1907. Built in the 1870s, our apartment is part of a historic row house district. Many of the original floor beams, as well as exposed brick, were preserved during the renovation. Ceilings were restored to a 12 foot height throughout the living room and kitchen, while lofted ceilings were constructed in the bedrooms. The neighborhood is home to a mix of eclectic small businesses and historic sites, including City of Asylum bookstore and performance venue, local restaurants and charming bars, craft breweries, coffee shops, art museums, RandyLand, and historic sites, such as the birthplace of writer and poet Gertrude Stein on Beech Street. Nearby is Allegheny Commons, a beautiful and tranquil city park with tennis courts, and boasts a locally famous popcorn and snowball stand (seasonal). We hope you enjoy the setting as much as we do!
Metered parking is available directly in front of our building. Free guest permit parking available on street behind the apartment (we provide a guest parking permit free of charge). Our parking permit works great for Steelers game day, Pirates games, and stadium events (including concerts). We are located within a short distance of Heinz Field, so close that the parking lot across the street is used for fans and charges $45-65 to park on game day, making the free parking parking pass that is included in this rental a huge perk!
  • Jeb & Alissa were helpful and responsive. Their place was spotless and spacious. We loved the neighborhood and would stay here again.

    John2018-03-18T00:00:00Z
  • There are many reasons this apartment receives such glowing reviews. It is beautifully decorated. It is super comfortable. The hosts go out of their way to make sure your stay is successful. We were there for nine days and were very happy we were able to book it. It felt like a home away from home in all good ways. Everything was immaculate. They have great taste and I took photos to steal ideas. There were plenty of towels and Tp and stuff like that. We were busy with family events and not around much during the day but were very happy to be able to have breakfast there and end up there at day's end. We are 60 and super picky and were very happy with the beds, bathroom, kitchen.....Frankly this couple should just start a business renovating houses.

    Kristin2017-05-29T00:00:00Z
  • Jeb and Alissa’s house was perfect. The location was walkable to The National Aviary, a little park, the stadiums and even downtown for us. This was our first time on the North side of the city and it was so quaint and classy. On the same street as the house there was a little brewery, a wine bar, restaurants, a cafe, etc. you could probably stay on the street and hit different restaurants for each meal and not duplicate for a weekend! We thoroughly enjoyed the space too. Very clean and comfortable. We especially loved the record player and variety of albums. The shower was also pretty cool, as it was massive! Thank you again, Jeb and Alissa, for having us. We’d love to come back.

  • The location was perfect for me, my wife, and our 25 year old daughter. We attended the Pitt / NC State football game and was able to walk to Heinz Field in 15 minutes. Especially nice after the game when traffic was at a standstill! The apartment was better than the pictures, and I found the parking easy. After reading other reviews I was prepared for difficulty parking, but Jeb left clear instructions and the parking pass on the counter. No Problems at all. The place was clean, new, and really upscale. The TV had way more channels than we do at home in Raleigh. Also, the (Hidden by Airbnb) map arial does not accurately depict the upscale neighborhood. Very quiet and no sirens! We walked up Western at night and ate at the restaurants and felt safe. On Sunday, the park across the street had families and children playing. I strongly recommend the apartment for anyone visiting Pittsburgh. We will definitely be staying here again.

    Michael2017-10-16T00:00:00Z
  • Jeb & Alissa's place is gorgeous. Top to bottom the apartment was stylistically impressive and spotlessly clean. Arriving is easy with keyless entry, hosts were quick to respond to questions and accommodated us with everything we needed. Parking was easy, theres plenty of walkable food and a park near the house and you're basically downtown in 2 minutes. One thing to note is main living area is on the second flight of (pretty steep) stairs and bedrooms/bathrooms on the third. Worked great for us, just something to be aware of!

    Molly2018-11-18T00:00:00Z
  • Jeb & Alissa's space was beautifully decorated and spotless! Great location...walking distance to the Andy Warhol museum and the Mattress Factory. I would absolutely stay here again!

  • Matthew’s place is beautiful and in the perfect location if you are catching a Steelers game. The neighbourhood has so much character and everyone is so friendly. The place is super clean and the beds are comfortable. Loved the artwork and the layout of the place. Matthew was great with communicating all the need to knows.

  • Spacious and clean upper apartment, walking distance to all the major attractions in Pittsburgh. Up and coming neighborhood that features a brew house and restaurant (Bier's Pub) and a great little breakfast lunch place about 5 minutes walk away (Allegheny Sandwich shop). Owners are friendly, very responsive and helpful.

    Jeffrey2019-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay at Matthew's house. It’s a 2nd floor apartment located in a building with two others, but was nice and quiet, located on a quiet street in downtown Pittsburgh. The area is great, and we had a fun time exploring the city around the house. There are three churches within 3-4 blocks of the location that were all built in the late 1800’s; beautiful buildings! We also got some fantastic pizza from Giorgio’s Place (5 minute walk). A note for families: the living area is on the main level, and the bathroom and all bedrooms are on the next. The stairs are carpeted. To access the apartment, the front entrance has an unlit stairway (gets a bit dark in the evening!), but there’s also a side entrance, though the side door only opens from the inside, and be careful on the stairs! They are quite steep, and slippery when it rains. All in all, the place was a great find, and we recommend it heartily!

Take a step into history! There is no real way to describe the detail, architecture, and location of this place. It was carriage home by millionaire’s row in the 1900s and is still a historic building in PGH. The architecture is truly amazing, not to mention the convenience today! You can walk to all the stadiums, casino, and countless bars, restaurants, and breweries! The T takes your right downtown for FREE and is less than a half-mile walk.
Perfect for all travelers. So much character it is truly beautiful. We provide all the amenities you will need for your stay like Wifi, linens, towels, soaps, shampoos and more! We want you to feel at home. Your comfort is our mission
It is a short walk to the stadiums (a half a mile away), less than a mile walk or bike ride to downtown. It is close to PNC Park, Heinz Field, Andy Warhol Museum, the Three Rivers Casino, National Aviary, plenty top-notch restaurants and much more! Very centrally located.
  • Quiet neighborhood. Close to Heinz and PNC park. Parking is tricky at first, however it is free around the corner and there is free parking up to 6. Matthew is helpful with parking as well and help me with any issues that came up. 5 star host. Would stay again

  • Great location in a very safe neighborhood. The house has been updated and had all the amenities we needed. Great for a weekend trip with friends. Matt always responded quickly with any questions I had and even helped me with parking. There was free street parking a block away. Great place if you are going for a Steelers game. Very close to the stadium. I recommend highly! Thank you!!

  • This apartment is conveniently located, right near a park that our dog enjoyed and within easy walking distance of the river, the Mattress Factory, and other fun attractions. Matthew and his team were highly communicative throughout the process. We were one of the first visitors to this unit so there were a few finishing touches they were still putting on the apartment, but overall it's a very nice space. One note is that they were still in the process of getting a parking permit for this unit, so we didn't have permission to park on this block, but we were able to find free parking just a couple blocks away pretty easily.

  • This is place is absolutely gorgeous, clean and spacious. Has a very modern/urban and upscale vibe to it. Conveniently close to everything including some absolutely awesome eateries. Cherry on top is that Paula is an excellent host, who is very knowledgeable about Pittsburgh and is readily available to assist renters.

    Max2018-12-24T00:00:00Z
  • What an awesome, central location. We could walk to the museums and downtown was a short ride away. Paula made check in and check out very simple, and she's available for anything you need. Very clean. Also, there's free parking in the garage for 2 cars which was a lifesaver. Would stay again.

    Lauren2019-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • The townhouse was a great spot for the couple of days that we stayed-- a pleasant neighborhood and a unique, comfortable space. Paula was great-- really appreciated her offering an extra key, a place to park, and shoveling in the sub zero winter weather!

    John2019-01-21T00:00:00Z
  • Paula’s place was amazing! It was very clean and had more than enough space to accommodate. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking to stay outside of downtown Pittsburgh. Very homey vibe and Paula is a wonderful host! 10/10 would recommend.

This Victorian brownstone is on one of Pittsburgh's prettiest streets. A comfortable, updated house that is good for a group of friends or family to enjoy while they explore Pittsburgh. We stock the house with all of the things you need for your stay. We have been listed since 2016 and believe we offer nice place to stay for folks touring the downtown area. We try to be competitive so we do charge extra for additional guests. Please be honest. No smoking and pets ok with prior approval.
This 1871 brownstone is located in the historic district of Allegheny West. We are across Beech Ave from Calvary UMC church. This is a walking neighborhood where access to downtown is simple and quick. We take pride in offering comfortable beds with premium linens and pillows that you would expect from a bed and breakfast. This house has central heating and air conditioning so you will be comfortable during your stay. There are 4 main bedrooms and we have another room that is available for larger parties.
Listed on the National Registry of Historic Neighborhoods. Largely Victorian in composition. Italianate, Second Empire and Neo-Gothic brownstones line Beech Ave.
  • This is an amazing brownstone that is very spacious, immaculately clean, dog-friendly, and in a great neighborhood for exploring the north shore. Great home base for sporting events as you are a 10 minute walk or 5 minute uber ride away from PNC and Heinz. Proximity to dog park, within a city park, makes it perfect for dog owners. Close to Warhol Museum and the Children's museum as well and 2 minutes walk from a few local restaurants. We'll surely return. Clayton is a great host full of local tips.

    Heather2018-03-25T00:00:00Z
  • Clayton was a great host, and the house was beautiful. He gave us a lot of great recommendations for things to do and see. Plenty of space for my family, and loved the charming neighborhood. Would highly recommend!

  • Clayton's home was perfect for our large group. There was ample space in the house and the location was super convenient. Clayton was very responsive and made great recommendations for our group to enjoy. Thanks a lot for opening your home to us!

    Josh2017-05-29T00:00:00Z
  • We loved everything about Clayton's home (and Clayton!)!! I wrote a very long review but my browser refreshed. I'll give you the sort of short and sweet version: the house was huge. We had 6 people and room to spare! The kitchen was fully stocked with pots and pans and utensils--as were the bathrooms! We had need of nothing while we were there. If you're on the fence about booking this place, go ahead and jump down and click "request to book!" It's downtown ( in the best of ways) and incredibly safe area (newly gentrified). This place is near enough to transit options that there is always someone wandering by, which helps keep it safe! The house is in wonderful condition & perfect location. I lived in Pittsburgh for a few months and this house is in the best area to see the whole city-- close to all the great places! And you won't find a better host than Clayton! Seriously! Why are you still reading this? Go book this house if you're lucky enough to see an opening when you want to travel! You won't regret it.
