  • Bill's place was amazing! The location was great, down a quiet street right next to South Congress. The decor was fantastic too, and we enjoyed the pool to cool off. We'd definitely stay again!

    Nick2016-05-17T00:00:00Z
  • Bill was great. He provided information regarding the logistics of staying at his place early in the process, and was clear and comprehensive in his instructions about getting there. He was helpful, providing us with some recommendations about places to check out around town, and always responsive when I reached out to him. His place is great - neat, big, and comfortable. We only used one bed, but it was extremely comfortable, and there was a pool, but unfortunately the weather was too cold to take advantage of it. Would definitely stay with Bill again - thanks Bill!

  • We just got back from SXSW and had a great time. We stayed at an Airbnb called The Hideaway that is all and more than the pictures show. It is clear that some time and creativity went into the decor. It was so close to the action on Congress Street yet very quiet. The beds were wonderful and so was the pool. Bill introduced himself and offered his help on anything we asked for yet he never hung on top of us. I want to go back.

    Robert2016-03-22T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at the Hideaway was nothing short of perfect. Bill was very accommodating, friendly, and accessible. The house was gorgeously decorated and the pool (not to mention the great air conditioning) was so nice to come home to. It truly felt like home. An added plus is location - 5 minute walk from bustling South Congress but private, green and peaceful. Can't recommend highly enough! Thank you Bill!

    Charlotte2015-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely exceeds expectations, best hideaway Airbnb we have stayed at ever. Bill was a gracious host, the house is unique and amazing in its own right but Bill’s styling touches make it a true work of art. We will definitely be coming back!

    Christine2019-02-11T00:00:00Z
  • bill could NOT have been a more gracious/charming/delightful host! everything about his space is exquisite! the home itself is grand with the yard and pool and location-- BUT THEN bill's style and attention to detail making it quite the gem. the hideout feels like a treehouse with its great trees and pretty views of the neighborhood, sunsets and storms rolling in! the bed was, no lie, the most comfortable ive slept in and the AC was perfectly responsive to our cool wishes. the decor is on point with fabulous art and beautiful furniture/rugs. we also greatly appreciated the stocked nespresso, personal card from bill, the tons of magazines and MANY cable channels to choose from. the location itself is a superbly close walk to south congress restaurants/bars and conveniently near 35 and other main thoroughfares while still feeling secluded and private. our entire stay was exceptional and I look forward to staying there again in the very near future.

    Christi2015-09-18T00:00:00Z
  • The Hideaway is a fantastic place! Bill is such a gracious host and a really cool guy too. The location is about a 5 minute walk from SoCo so it really is prime location if you want to take advantage of the plethora of restaurants, stores, etc. The place itself is decorated in awesome and unique way. The pool is also really nice and refreshing. Overall, when I come back to Austin I will try to stay here again!

    Luke2016-09-06T00:00:00Z
  • Bill was a great host. He was very easy to get in contact with and responded quickly! His place is the perfect location. The hideaway is beautiful and spacious!

Lofted craftsman cottage in the heart of central east Austin. Located less than a mile from UT and 1.5 miles to downtown. The cottage has an open and comfortable vibe with natural light against the custom woodwork and vaulted pine ceilings.
Completely renovated, open and modern cottage with loft in central east, atx. The cottage has been restored over the past couple of years and is essentially a new house on the inside. The interior has a vaulted tongue and groove pine ceiling with a loft, hardwood floors, tiled bathroom, and relaxed open atmosphere. Cottage is centrally located less than a mile from ut and the state capitol and 1.5 miles from downtown. The MLK commuter rail train station is directly across the street from the house and is one stop from downtown. Bennu (the local 24 hour coffee shop) is a couple of blocks away, as are restaurants, bars, etc. on Manor road (within walking distance). Check out my guide for restaurants and such in the area. The house has central ac/heat, high speed wireless internet, cable tv, washer/dryer, tankless water heater, full kitchen, w/ coffee maker/coffee etc. Super comfy queen size bed with 400 thread count linens, lots of comfortable pillows, and fresh towels in the bathroom. The house has a ton of windows and can be bright and sunny with the blinds open letting in the natural light, or cozy and dark with the blinds closed and lights dimmed against the interior woodwork. The cottage is furnished with a mix of mid century and custom pieces. The loft has a sofa that converts to a full size bed and can accommodate 2 extra people. There is also a unique outdoor seating area with vintage wrought iron furniture that's been re-done with comfortable cushions. Is a nice hang out space for relaxing and enjoying coffee or drinks with friends. The area also includes a grill for whatever you'd like to cook up. Is difficult to portray the comfortable vibe of the house in the pictures. I'm the iphone photographer so pics are a bit rudimentary and hardly do the house justice. I also live on the property in the adjacent back cottage. I'm a native Texan and long-time Austinite that can give you insight and recommendations about the city according to what you're seeking, but am just as happy to not cross paths as the cottage is pretty autonomous. The house is super convenient to all things in central Austin and is a great place to relax and recharge during your stay. A bit of history from the Austin Historical Commission about the cottage - "these cottages were built by the Calcasieu Lumber Company of Austin as small dwellings in the (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) s and (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) s. Founded in the (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) s, Calcasieu Lumber Company was Austin's first lumber yard. The company had standardized plans, and provided all the materials, even the crews for the construction of these houses on an owner’s site. The Calcasieu cottages are unique to Austin, and have a signature Romantic Tudor Revival style, with steeply pitched hipped roofs – many residents have long referred to them as “fairy tale cottages” because of their soaring rooflines. Calcasieu manufactured these cottages through the (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) s, but stopped with this romantic Tudor Revival style prior to World War II. The Calcasieu Lumber Company was an Austin institution, and their cottages represent a uniquely Austin manifestation of an architectural style that is found nowhere else in the country. Maintaining them in Austin is extremely important." This property is in compliance with the City of Austin's Short Term Rental ordinances. Lic# (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) OL
The most eclectic, interesting neighborhood in the city. Walk, bike, or take a cab downtown. Houndstooth is 1/2 block away for the best coffee in town. The rail station is across the street and downtown is one stop away. Skylark lounge is a must.
  • The house was beautiful! It was so clean and welcoming. It is a beautiful space, and so easy to get to from the highway, while still feeling secluded.

    Kate2016-06-07T00:00:00Z
  • This place was great in every way except there is a huge construction project directly across the street. If you are planing on sleeping in then this may not be the place for you. Other than that I loved the place and highly recommend!

    Nick2016-01-08T00:00:00Z
  • I loved everything about my stay! The location was perfect, within easy driving distance to the airport, the Eastside and SoCo. The house was completely charming and the epitome of Austin living. Brad was an incredible host and was super willing to help make my stay superb!

    Joshua2017-01-11T00:00:00Z
  • Great vibes, clean, charming!

    Tee2018-01-13T00:00:00Z
  • My girlfriend & I rented Brad's secondary home for 4 days in September of 2014. The house was conveniently located 15 minutes away from the airport (by car) and is a 10 minute drive to the heart of Austin, TX. There is a train station down the street from Brad's home which takes you downtown as well, but my girlfriend & I rented a car to get around town. I strongly recommend renting a car in Austin if you plan to see all of the different parts of the city. As for the house, it was clean, quiet, and very comfortable for a couple and/or small family. The bed was very comfortable and the house was well-decorated and had all of the basic amenities we needed during our short vacation. Also, be sure to check out the small leather-bound guest book inside the house. Past guests (including myself) have left lots of fun tips of things to do/see/touch while you're visiting Austin. I will definitely stay at Brad's again next time I am in Austin.

    Thomas2014-09-28T00:00:00Z
  • Really enjoyed our stay at your home! The house had everything we needed even down to body wash in the shower! Everything was clean and organized and totally exceeded my expectations. If I ever return to Austin I would love to stay again!

    Brittany2016-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • Nicholle and Brad were incredibly accommodating. Our reservation at another location had been cancelled at the last minute by our host, and Brad was quick to respond and get us set up with a new reservation at his place. The cabin is lovely--lots of handmade woodwork and special Austin touches in a safe, quiet neighborhood that is just minutes from The Drag and east side hot spots.

    Amber2015-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • The space was exactly as described in the listing! Actually, I would say the pictures do not do it justice. Very cute decor, comfortable bed, and hip space. The location was very close to many great spots on Manor as well as a short uber ride to downtown 6th street and Rainey District. This was the perfect space for a weekend getaway and our first Austin experience! Brad was an exceptional host with great communication and very accommodating. Would love to come back and visit again! Thank you Brad!

What do we love most about our neighborhood? The fact that we live on a HUGE lot so close to the city center. It's like having a piece of the country in town.
  • Very cute, but not perfect for those over 6' - the shower is challenging for us tall people. The Airstream is also not insulated, so definitely make sure to stay during any time except winter. Hosts will provide plenty of space heaters in cold weather, though!

    Leah2014-11-15T00:00:00Z
  • This was the most magical Airbnb we've ever rented. It was a true Austin experience. Our hosts were wonderful and we fell in love with the many animals!

    Elise2015-01-18T00:00:00Z
  • We had the best time staying at Marcella and Meredith's adorable airstream! The location was great in terms of navigating to tourist spots around Austin but still having a homey feel. They were wonderful hosts and provided everything you could possibly need, including a handmade guest book full of suggestions on where to eat, and delicious homemade toffee! Our hosts were friendly but respectful of our privacy. The animals, especially Shiner the pig, were such a fun bonus to the experience. We truly loved staying at this charming gem of a place and will definitely book it again the next time we're in Austin.

    Lorien2015-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Such a lovely relaxing place to stay! My husband and I are convinced that this is one of the hidden gems in Austin! Marcella & Meredith were very friendly and always willing to give guidance for things to do and see in Austin. Will definitely be staying here again when we're back in town!

    Trina2015-04-02T00:00:00Z
  • Simply amazing :)

    Ali2013-04-14T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I stayed from July 27- 29. It was my birthday weekend and staying at Marcella's made it the best. The airstream was adorable and the backyard was just the same. Pepper the kitten was an excellent host that kept us entertained as we tried to stay out of the heat. We are looking forward to visiting again.

    Melissa2013-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • This airstream and house are full of charm. This was one of our highlights on a very long road trip. The backyard and the little pig were a bonus. Marcella is a great host, she will help guide you to the right places to see in Austin, and the dark chocolate toffee is some of the best I've had. I hope we go back one day, and spend more time here.

    Meta2013-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • The airstream was great. The yard is very magical and welcoming as well. I would definitely suggest staying here, though it's definitely a little far out if you are depending on walking and/or transit. The hosts were responsive and communicative. Overall, awesome place to stay!

  • Jenna's place is beautiful! The decor alone is enough to make all your Insta-friends jealous. The place was clean and spacious, very easy to feel comfortable in such a lovely atmosphere. The location was convenient to some lovely restaurants in the Austin-area. I will definitely keep Jenna's place in my "favorites" to return to when I come back to Austin.

    Lauren2018-08-08T00:00:00Z
  • This home is a DREAM! The details and decor of this house were to die for! My friend and I stayed one night for work, and spent most of our time in the house because of how beautiful it was! Jenna was amazing and absolutely went above and beyond when I left my glasses behind. She immediately responded to my message and shipped them back to my home. 1000% recommend this home! Thank you Jenna!

    Laurie2018-04-18T00:00:00Z
  • A clean home, close to everything in the downtown area.

    Brian2018-07-23T00:00:00Z
  • This is a beautiful contemporary home tucked in an established neighborhood in Austin. We were 5 minutes from everything we wanted to see and access to the house was very easy. Jenna was quick to reply to my questions about bike rental and a theater. Most of all, the house is very clean and very, very beautiful. There is a lovely patio outside where we ate breakfast and the rooms are thoughtfully and tastefully decorated and books and magazines were available to read. We will recommend this home without hesitation to anyone visiting Austin.

Our beautiful, minimalist Tiny House is a comfortable home base for tourists and business travelers. For leisure you are minutes from Lady Bird Lake and in the heart of the East Side entertainment. The Tiny House is also connected to 1GB WiFi. We look forward to hosting you in the heart of East Austin, just 1.5 miles from the convention center, and 10 minutes from the airport. We are kid friendly (pac n play, toys, high chair available), and accept dogs for an additional one-time fee of $25.
The Kanga Tiny House comfortably sleeps two people, sharing a queen bed. If you are traveling with a third person, or simply need extra sleeping space, we have a twin-sized air mattress available for you to borrow, or a pac'n'play for a little one. (Please ask for this in your reservation request if you need it). Floor space is limited, so we may rearrange furniture to comfortably accommodate your group. Check-in time is 3pm or later. Access is through a keyless lock for which you'll be provided a code prior to approval, so late night check-ins are not a problem. Check-out time is 12pm. Dogs are permitted on a case-by-case basis for an additional per visit fee of $25, and approval must be obtained ahead of a booking being made. The fee will be added to the booking through a booking alteration/special offer. In cases of Instant Books, we'll submit a request for pet fee payment through the Airbnb system. Guests must keep their dogs supervised at all times when in the yard, leashed when outside the yard, and must pick up after them. The Kanga Tiny House is roughly 200 square feet, and features: - AT&T GigaPower Internet (through Airport Extreme) - We do not have a TV but you can certainly stream your favorite shows with your own streaming services account (e.g. Netflix, Hulu, Amazon). - USB Charger for your devices - Wireless Charging Pad from Ikea (your device must be wireless enabled) We keep the place well stocked with all of the basics, as well as extra towels and blankets. We are: - 15 minutes (6.6 miles) from Austin Bergstrom International Airport, - 5 minutes (1.5 miles) from the Austin Convention Center, - Approx. $6 or $7 Uber/Lyft ride from downtown, - 1.7 miles to Austin's famous Rainey Street bar and restaurant district. We recommend taking Uber/Lyft unless you feel like a 30 minute walk, - 3 blocks away from the Lady Bird Lake trailhead on Pleasant Valley, for walking/biking/running (by Longhorn Dam). If you enjoy exploring on foot, or alternative transit options like bikes and buses, this is a good spot for you. You'll be just one block away from Cesar Chavez St, a major thoroughfare that goes into downtown, where there's an eclectic mix of dining, drinking, retail, services, gas stations, and single family homes. We're only a few short blocks from the Lady Bird Lake trail and head over Longhorn Dam, which pops you out onto a hiking, biking, and running loop that is several miles long. The boardwalk over the lake provides great views of downtown. There are plenty of things in walking distance, and we recommend looking at our Guidebook for more details. Our favorites for food & groceries: - JuiceLand on E Cesar Chavez, a smoothie & juice spot, approx. 3 minutes away - Tacos Guerrero on Cesar Chavez & Pleasant Valley, fantastic breakfast tacos for only $2 a piece - La Barbecue on E Cesar Chavez (we recommend preordering, at least 5 days in advance, to save yourself a couple of hours in a long line for the best brisket in town). - Kemuri Tatsu-Ya, 1.5 blocks away, fantastic Texas & Japanese fusion food - Juniper, 1 block away, a small plates restaurant with great cocktails - Counter Culture on E Cesar Chavez, a vegan restaurant, 2 blocks away - Blue Owl Brewing, a sour-mashed beer micro brewery, 1 block away - Juniper, a classy Italian restaurant with great wine and outdoor seating, 1 block away - HEB on E 7th, a grocery store, approx. 10 minutes away - Hi Hat on E 6th, a gastropub, approx. 15 minutes away - Counter Cafe on E 6th, a breakfast & lunch diner, approx. 15 minutes away - Launderette on Holly St at St Martinez Jr St has one of the best burgers in town plus a tasty rotating dessert menu. There are many more options for dining and services. If you prefer to drive to any of these you'll get there in less than 5 minutes. We are avid travelers ourselves, and love staying with AirBnB hosts any chance we get. We want to make your stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible, and are completely open to frank feedback on how to improve your time in the Kanga Tiny House.
The East Side is a wonderful, artsy, quirky place. It's still a little rough around the edges, as is the case in any gentrifying neighborhood. We always feel perfectly safe, and our street is well lit and comfortably "busy", while still being completely residential. We've never had issues with street parking.
  • The Kanga was one of our favorite Airbnb experiences to date. Anna and her husband have a hand's off style, which we loved. The Kanga is a studio bungalow in their backyard, separate from the main house and completely private. Anna furnishes it with snacks, fruit, coffee beans, soaps, and a few Shiner Bocks to get you started - the kitchen even has a few essentials if you'd like to cook a meal and eat it on your private porch. The inside looks just like the pics - minimal + modern, with great sunlight. It's located five or six blocks east of the East Austin strip, super easy to grab an uber (like a $3 uber!) to any of the East Sixth spots (White Horse, Qui, Stay Gold, Liberty, etc.) Anna and her family are there if you need them, but will give you privacy if you prefer that - in our book, that makes for an excellent host.

    Nate2015-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Great stay! Provides excellent studio house. Very clean and cozy. Extremely helpful in providing advice as to where to eat and what to do. I would recommend staying!!!

    Brendan2016-05-30T00:00:00Z
  • Chad was very responsive and accommodating. That made it an easy and comfortable experience. The tiny house behind the main house was just like described and shown in the picture. It was very clean and just the right size for my stay. The neighborhood in east Austin is still in a bit of transition and I was a little concerned about parking my car on the street, so Chad accommodated by allowing me to park in the driveway next to his car. It was a great stay and I would definitely stay here again!

    Rick2016-07-29T00:00:00Z
  • Could not have had a better experience. Extremely clean and comfortable. Not a single inconvenience to think of. 10/10.

    Bryant2016-02-11T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely little place with all the essentials. Anna & Chad were friendly and responsive. Their dog-friendly yard was nice for our puppy to use. The area is hip and close to downtown so activities are plentiful. We’d recommend this place to anyone and plan on returning.

    Rebecca2017-10-23T00:00:00Z
  • Anna and Chad have a great place. It was perfect for my needs. I made a short trip to Austin and needed something simple and easy. Chad was there to greet me on the first day and that was the last I saw them due to my busy schedule. It is a very private back house that is seperate from the main house. Their spot in East Austin was super cool and safe. The amenities were abundant and very nice. These included dishware, breakfast food, a super comfortable bed, and more. I would gladly stay there at my next voyage to Austin.

    Stephen2016-09-07T00:00:00Z
  • Anna & Chad's place is super cozy and a nice oasis in Austin. Near many great restaurants and bars!

    Emily2017-07-26T00:00:00Z
  • This place is perfect for two in Austin! The deck is perfect for morning coffee or evening drinks! Anna and chad let us check in as early as possible, since we had an early morning flight! The place was clean and well-stocked with toiletries and food! It made us feel right at home! The location was also great. My wife and I used the BCycle and hit the trails on the river. Getting around was a breeze even without a car. Definitely a nice place to rest your head on the east side of Austin!

  • Both this property and its owner, Jason, were amazing! The condo was beautifully furnished, perfectly clean, and stocked with everything we needed from a Keurig coffee maker to hair conditioner! Additionally it had an AMAZING VIEW of downtown!!! Jason was available by call or text for any problems that we could have encountered. Jason also accommodated several personal requests. My fiancé and I had just gotten engaged, and Jason provided a bottle of champagne. He also personally reviewed a list of things to do in Austin that we sent him ahead of time and provided suggestions. He even let us use his personal printer when we needed to print off something unexpectedly. Finally, we accidentally left our coats in the condo. We contacted Jason right away and he happily agreed to mail us our coats! This was an amazing place to stay close to downtown. We would definitely stay there again!

    Kimberly2016-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • Nice condo on the other side of the freeway from 6th street activities and downtown. Reserved gated parking spot.

    Daniel2019-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay & explore Austin. It's not only a great, comfortable space but convenient to 6th st, Congress & Downtown. Great Experience from arrival to departure!!!

    Ashley2013-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • Staying at Jason's apartment was a great experience. It is easily accessible, very comfortable, and tastefully decorated. It is very luminous and spacious. Jason made available to us all sorts of amenities, from Ac, TV and wi-fi, to coffe making machine, laundry, etc. The apartment was spotless.

    Ivan2016-06-24T00:00:00Z
  • What an awesome place and location!

    Rachel2017-12-17T00:00:00Z
  • Jason's place is super conveniently located. An easy walk to downtown or East 6th Street fun, and just a few blocks from a B-cycle location as well. There was a little grocery store/deli across the street (open late, yay!) where we stocked up on water bottles and some local brews. Would definitely recommend staying at Jason's place if you want to be close enough to the excitement without all of the added noise.

    Sarah2017-10-09T00:00:00Z
  • The perfect place to stay if you are going to check out the local hangouts! Walking distance to 6th street. The warehouse district is a quick cab/pedi cab away. South Congress, barton springs, Town Lake running trails and paddle boards are so close, and of course there are awesome restaurants around every corner. Jason's place rocks! Immaculate with a beautiful view of the Austin skyline. Very cool furnishings and artwork. We will be staying here again in the future!

  • My sister and I loved staying here. I could live in this adorable dwelling. It was a pleasure. Jason gave us advice on places to eat and go out.

    Kathryn2015-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • I really like this place! It had everything I needed for my week long work trip in Austin! It was just myself, so this was more than enough space. The bed was comfortable, and the feel and aesthetic of the place great! The photos are a good representation of Jason's place. Location was also perfect. Just a short uber ride into downtown Austin. I walked most days and only took me 45 minutes to get to my office near 5th & Bowie St. I will definitely be coming back on my next visit to Austin!

    James2015-11-12T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect place for our tailgate and UT football weekends. Walking distance to the stadium. Zero issues and I would definitely stay here again.

    Patrick2016-09-12T00:00:00Z
  • Jason's house was just as pictured. Cool, modern, sleek and very bright and open. The location is great, very close to Manor Dr restaurants. Quiet street, and nice outdoor space. I would definitely stay again, next time I will invest more time in figuring out how to open the cool garage door that serves as an entry to the spacious yard with a deck. I didn't meet Jason but check in and out was simple!

Come to stay in our charming backyard tiny house! It comes equipped with a queen size bed, tv, dining/work station, coffee machine & mini fridge. The bathroom has a sink, shower, self contained eco-friendly toilet and bath supplies including a hair dryer. Our location is very centralized so you can get anywhere in Austin easily. It's only a 12 minute drive to downtown! Why stay in a boring hotel when you can have your own private house for a fraction of the price?
This tiny house is perfect for a short getaway for two people. But if you really want to sleep three people it is possible (although I don't recommend it) with two in the queen bed and one on the twin air mattress. Just know that it will be very tight space for 3.
We're located on a small street and the neighborhood is quiet and friendly. Within walking distance- Some great Asian and Mexican restaurants as well as a Target and bus station. There are tons of restaurants near by- Ramen Tatsu-ya, Stiles Switch BBQ, Din Ho Chinese BBQ, Baby Greens, Hanabi Sushi, Tam Deli & Cafe, Royal Jelly, El Nuevo Mexico, Chago's, Pint House Pizza, Torchies- the list goes on and on. Other attractions close by include Capitol City Comedy Club, Top Golf, Alamo Drafthouse, Pinballz old school arcade, Ikea and the Domain restaurants & shopping.
  • Tiny house was great! Easy to get to, nice and clean. Perfect for a short stay.

    Liz2017-12-09T00:00:00Z
  • Cute tiny house. Like Nate said, many good Asian restaurants nearby.

  • We loved everything about our stay in Austin. The backyard cottage was absolutely perfect for us, and Steve had everything we might need and more (coffee, granola, fruit, soap, bug spray, even a spare umbrella). Steve was the perfect host, so kind and hospitable. Always quick to respond to any questions, and had a great variety of suggestions of neighborhood hot spots. We would 100% recommend this place and would love to visit again. Thanks Steve!

    Allyson2016-05-25T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great night's rest here. Everything was exactly as described. Steve is very quick about responding to questions. And we devoured the treats he left us -- they were wonderful! Thank you, Steve!

    Barbara2015-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • Steve and the cottage were terrific. He was super accommodating with check-in time, and he put in a lot of touches that made this place great. Fresh OJ and yogurt in the fridge, fresh fruit and granola on the counter, coffee, tea, wine, etc. Seriously a great place to stay. We only stayed one night but wish it had been more. I'm jealous of his sweet cottage.

    Justin2015-04-28T00:00:00Z
  • This cottage was excellent! We booked it the same day and Steve really worked with us on check-in and out times. It's a great location, surrounded by excellent places to eat and sip coffee. We rented bikes down the street and explored Austin on two wheels! For our first Airbnb experience, we were blown away! Steven even left us yogurt, granola and coffee! The towels were plush, and the bathroom was complete with everything we needed. The space was rustic, clean; manly yet soft. We would DEFINITELY stay here again!

    Derek2013-06-09T00:00:00Z
  • Pictures are exactly what is shown on the website. The cottage was a cute modern place and very clean! The place was stocked with snacks, coffee, and more. Thank you for a great experience, Steve.

    Lisa2014-05-17T00:00:00Z
  • This place is so perfect and Steve is a great host! The cottage is beautiful and clean, comfortable and private. I was able to park in the driveway which was a plus, since I had a car full from moving cross country. I loved the backyard and the design of all the furniture! It's in a cute neighborhood and I was able to walk to great restaurants and coffee shops.

    Kathleen2014-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • Steve's cottage was exactly as described (and even better). I would highly recommend for anyone looking to spend a weekend in Austin, and I would definitely book with him again! The location was great, very close to downtown, restaurants, cool coffee shops, etc.

    Damon2015-08-16T00:00:00Z
  • Steve was absolutely great and went above and beyond for us! He reached out prior to our trip to ensure we would not be affected by the hurricane that was hitting the state and even offered to let us cancel in case we couldn't make it. Once we arrived he was extremely helpful and accommodating when it came to checking in. He made sure we had everything we needed and even left us some treats to welcome us to Austin. Throughout our stay he made sure to check in with us and asked us if our stuff back home was safe and okay. Steve even helped us create a backup plan in case we couldn't return home on our expected date. I would recommend Steve's home to anyone traveling to Austin. The place was so cute, the location was great and he was an all around amazing host. I'll definitely be re-booking with him when I'm back in Austin!

Welcome to our studio in the heart of Hyde Park! Our private studio is located in our backyard with parking in front of our house. You can walk to Hyde Park Village, the Triangle or North Loop and it is minutes to downtown and UT.
Our private studio offers convenient access to everything you want to do in Austin. It is small (approximately 220 square feet, like a small hotel room) but what it lacks in size, it makes up for with charm (and everything you need for a great stay). The studio is located in the backyard of our house (private fenced yard, side entrance) and is separate from the main house, although it shares an insulated wall with a home office, typically in use from 9-5. Also included are WiFi, and smart TV (no cable, but Netflix account pre logged in.) The studio has a brand new queen sized bed. Guests with children are welcome to bring an air mattress for no additional charge, but space is tight with a mattress on the floor. Due to its limited size, we do not allow the studio to be used by 4 full-sized adults. It is perfect for a couple or small family. The kitchenette includes a mini fridge and microwave. Additionally, all of the windows have window coverings for privacy, though the top windows are uncovered for natural light . As we are located in the middle of a historic residential community (and love our neighbors and this is our backyard), keeping outdoor noise down is critical. If you're a fan of blaring music and doing beer bongs, you're in the wrong place. The studio is located near several bus stops in a safe neighborhood that is very safe to walk in. Thanks for checking us out! City of Austin Short Term Rental Operating License #OL(PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN)
Our beautiful and friendly neighborhood is one of the oldest in Austin. It is full of tree lined streets with eclectic homes. You can walk to local coffee shops, restaurants or Shipe Park for a picnic or swim (in the summer time)!
  • Would definitely stay here again! Nice place, quiet and clean. About a 10 dollar uber to DT.

  • What a lovely place! This was my first experience with airbnb and now I'm afraid this first experience will be hard to beat. The studio is tucked away towards the back of yard and in a convenient location in a quiet neighborhood. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay here, and the hassle free check in/out was a plus! Furnishings are minimal and simple, but it was just enough for a short weekend stay. The studio is small, but surprisingly comfortable. Would love to stay here again for my next Austin trip. Thanks Sangeeta and Chris!

  • You can't go wrong with this centrally located and stylish venue! This studio is in an adorable historic district, and is only a short walk away from dining and shopping! The best was cozy, and there is plenty of room for two!

  • Jason was an excellent host, quick in response to any questions or inquiries we had. The property was a little smaller than expected but it was clean and had an updated feel. It was plenty large enough for our group of 4. I would suggest to bring towels with a group larger than this. The space was clean and we took advantage of the wifi and the apple tv that were provided. Location was a short drive to downtown 6th St. area and to S. Congress St. shops. Excellent experience overall.

    Amanda2014-07-01T00:00:00Z
  • Great place in a central location. It was perfect for us -- clean and quiet. We spent most of the weekend hanging out in downtown, which is just a few minutes away. One of the bathrooms only has a curtain, no door.

A modern, detached 250sq ft micro-unit "casita" in the heart of old South Austin has everything you need for a pleasant stay - high beadboard ceilings, an equipped kitchen, washer/dryer, queen bed and proximity to some of the best Austin offers.
Your place will be a detached 250 square foot casita (small house) remodeled in 2015. It has a fully equipped kitchen with stove, oven, refrigerator, utensils, dinnerware etc. There is also a small under counter washer-dryer. The eating area is an extended countertop that seats up to three and can double as a workspace. The bed is queen sized. The 3/4 bath is small and practical, and has an overhead shower. Super fast gigabit fiber internet is available for you to use. The casita is heated and cooled by a quiet ductless system. There is no microwave or television, though the internet is certainly fast enough to stream anything you desire.
Dawson was built in the late 1950s and early 1960s as a working class neighborhood in what was then the city's southern edge. With Austin's huge growth, Dawson is now a central city neighborhood, although it retains some of the character of "old South Austin." Today, Dawson is a mix of old residents and newcomers (we've been here 16 years), with modest single story late 1950s houses giving way to new million dollar duplexes. We've kept to the basic style of the original neighborhood, while updating with modern and energy efficient improvements. We are in the middle of the neighborhood, back from busy streets. Dawson is near many of the city's attractions and convenient to the airport, about 20 minutes from ABIA, door to door, at low traffic hours.
  • Ed and family greeted us when we arrived and made us feel welcome immediately, letting us know the features of the micro-unit. Home is across from a school and very quiet. Listing was accurate. My husband and I loved staying there and I was grateful for a location close to the conference I was attending. Would recommend it to anyone considering staying in North Austin.

    Hun2015-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely lovely and point! Beautiful location and a wonderful family!

    Dr. Angelique2017-05-22T00:00:00Z
  • The listing was 100% accurate. The casita was charming, with lots of windows, and the room was clean and tidy. Edward had thought of everything - there were suggestions for nearby restaurants (which were delicious!), plates, cutlery, pots and pans. The bathroom was stocked with plenty of thick towels. Edward was always available, but never intrusive, and of course, Louie the dog was adorable and polite.

    Susan2015-11-13T00:00:00Z
  • As described. A wonderful neighborhood, convenient and safe. (Dawson is an elementary school) woke up to the sweet sound of children playing outside and the birds. Everything there that you need for a stay in Austin. Away from the bustle of downtown but a 10 minute drive. Clean and comfy. Edward was helpful. Just right.

    Nancy2015-11-22T00:00:00Z
  • Edward greeted us as soon as we got there and had the casita all ready for us. He made it so easy to "check in" and we were able to easily settle in right away.

    Leah2016-04-20T00:00:00Z
  • The place is a bit larger than it looks. Very comfortable bed. Full kitchen with oven and some nice extras like condiments and coffee. It's an easy 5-10 min. walk to S. Congress with 2 buses into the center of Austin. Also easy 15 min. walk to large grocery store. The place is quiet. Easy and reasonable cost to use Lyft to the airport. Edward is a very friendly and responsive host. Terrific place to stay in while visiting Austin.

    Lee2017-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • Great place with great hosts! Plenty big enough for two people and very well-equipped. Ideal location for getting around Austin

  • Our host, Ben, was very informative with us upfront and provided all keys and passwords for us to get into the house. After "checking in" we pretty much never heard or saw anybody in the Marshall House besides ourselves. This privacy was fanatastic. The room itself was cozy and well furnished. Even the apple TV was fully loaded, which was a major bonus when we headed back for the night. Austin was truly a lovely city. We took many of Bens suggestions and we're not disappointed. We even ate at Launderette twice because it was so delicious! I would say the only down side was that Uber/Lyft were not working in Austin during our stay, but that is sort out of the scope of what this AirBnB really offers. Also, there is no guitar available for visitors...the room seems to be solely named after the mini fridge... I would also like to give a personal shout out to the shower. It had this great pebble floor that felt very luxurious. The whole experience was truly lovely. I would recommend this AirBnB to any of my friends and family. Austin was an amazing experience and we hope to be back soon.

  • The place was lovely - comfortable, quiet, and convenient. We enjoyed our stay and would love to come back sometime!

    Cory2017-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • It was a great stay! Ben gave us some good recommendations before we arrived, he was proactive about making our stay comfortable, and the room was even nicer than the pictures showed. We’d stay again!

    Ryan2017-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • Great location for food and easy access to downtown. Rainey Street is 20 mins walk and has loads of bars and great food. Ben was super helpful with loads of recommendations.

    Gareth2016-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • Word to the wise: stay here! Why?: 1) The space is true to photos (super cute and clean!) 2) Ben, your host, is incredibly accommodating and responsive. He let us keep our bags well past our check out time to accommodate our travel plans and was quick to respond to emails I sent him. 3) there's a small patio out the front door that's great to enjoy a beer on 4) the location is great! Lots of fantastic local restaurants and bars (la barbeque, launderette, etc.) 5) you're close to the river, where you can walk the path right to downtown Next time we come to Austin, we will stay here again. Thanks, Ben!

  • Great and private space! Huge bathroom and amazing quality!!! I wish this was my master bedroom at home! Thanks for the hospitality l!

    Gabriel2015-12-06T00:00:00Z
  • This, my first Airbnb experience, really set the bar high. Ben's guest apartment was exactly what I needed and the location was great. I immediately snapped pics to send to friends and show off. They were jealous. It was comfortable, cool (Austin being 95 degrees and humid while I was there) and well-appointed. Did you see that tub??? I had a leisurely soak. I wasn't planning on cooking but if I had wanted to - everything I could have asked for was there, including olive oil, salt and pepper. The huge walk-in closet was a major bonus. I could store my belongings out of eyesight (nothing worse than tripping over a suitcase in a tiny room)! There's a sweet little patio to enjoy the night air, and several great restaurants and bars in walking distance. I can't think of a single negative thing to say. Well done!

    Amy2016-06-27T00:00:00Z
  • The place was great! Located at the back of the house with stained concrete floors, an awesome shower, mini fridge, Kureg, and microwave. Everything was clean, and we had everything we needed. Ladies, there was a hairdryer! Ben responded promptly to my messages and made everything super easy. Hopefully, I'll be back.

Cozy East Side Casita in the heart of Cherrywood. Welcome home to a comfortable studio with a Queen size bed, kitchenette with mini-fridge and a bathroom. The perfect place to begin and end your day as you explore Austin! Minutes to downtown, the Capitol and the many parks and trails that Austin has to offer.
Location is close to Downtown and the University of Texas in one of Austin’s most popular neighborhoods. Cherrywood is known for its prime location, great atmosphere and walkability. The house’s close proximity to I-35 and Airport Blvd. makes getting around town a breeze. Within a mile there are multiple stores and supermarkets, including HEB (Mueller or Hancock Center), Fiesta, Cherrywood Coffeehouse, and Monarch Market. A little farther away, but still walkable, you can find the busy Manor Rd area of restaurants and coffee shops, and in the opposite direction you can find the Mueller Development with parks, restaurants and stores.
  • My wife and I stayed for three nights and absolutely loved the location and the house itself. We fell in love with the neighborhood and especially Cherrywood Coffeehouse. We can't wait to stay again!!

    Derek2018-04-21T00:00:00Z
  • The Casita was better than expected! So cute and comfy! We had an amazing time. It's a short drive to downtown, very private, bed was so comfortable. She left snacks for us to enjoy. Will book again when we visit Austin next time ❤

    Joyce2018-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • The casita was wonderful! A perfect little spot for a quick stop-over in Austin. The neighborhood is quiet and cozy and the place is great for 1 person (or a couple), comes equipped with everything you’ll need, and is just a quick walk away from good restaurants, bars, and coffee shops. David and Courtney are incredibly friendly and helpful and they make the space feel very much like home. I would definitely recommend staying here if you get the chance!!

    Michele2017-12-06T00:00:00Z
  • A nice little place, good for one or two people. Though compact, it has everything you'll need, including a kitchen stove! Everything worked well and we enjoyed having a place to stay during our first visit to Austin.

    Joshua2018-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • The place was a very cute and clean setup. It was close to great restaurants and bars. If you’re looking for a quiet getaway I would recommend this place.

    Mallory2018-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • It’s a perfect place if you want a nice place that if affordable, in a great location, and in a quiet neighborhood. Right off of 2 bus lines that take you to UT, downtown, and the airport. Very clean. Nice touches inside. You won’t be disappointed.

    Jason2019-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • Courtney was a great host and the location is perfect if you are in town visiting UT! It took us 10 minutes to get to the business school during rush hour. The place was very clean and the bed was super comfortable. It is also very close to the restaurants on Manor road. I would recommend if you are in town for a short visit

Welcome to our studio in the heart of Hyde Park! The casita (Spanish for "little house") has its own private fenced yard and parking. You can walk to Hyde Park Village, the Triangle or North Loop and it is minutes to downtown and UT by car.
Our private studio offers convenient access to everything you want to do in Austin. It is small (approximately 250 square feet, like a small hotel room) but what it lacks in size, it makes up for with charm (and everything you need for a great stay). The casita includes a private fenced yard with off-street parking and a private entrance. Also included are WiFi, and smart TV (no cable, but Netflix account pre logged in.) The studio has a brand new Queen sized bed. Guests with children are welcome to bring an air mattress for no additional charge, but space is tight with a mattress on the floor. Due to its limited size, we DO NOT recommend the Casita for 4 full-sized adults. It is perfect for a couple or small family. The kitchenette includes a mini fridge and microwave with a portable 2 burner hot plate and all of the windows have window coverings for privacy. As we are located in the middle of a historic residential community (and love our neighbors), keeping outdoor noise down is critical. Enjoy the deck and private yard, but if you're a fan of blaring music and doing beer bongs, you're in the wrong place. The studio is located near several bus stops in a safe neighborhood that is very safe to walk in. Thanks for checking us out! Our beautiful and friendly neighborhood is one of the oldest in Austin. It is full of tree lined streets with eclectic homes. You can walk to local coffee shops, restaurants or Shipe Park for a picnic or swim (in the summer time)!
  • Chris's casita is a charming and private little spot in a quiet part of Austin. We loved the airy ceilings that made it feel open. The space was also very clean and tidy. Chris was very responsive and thorough with information about access, which made it very easy arrive and leave. We would be happy to stay again.

    Hollie And Bodie2016-06-16T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at la Casita was excellent! Super easy, super convenient, comfortable, adorable and within walking distance to a solid meal at Foreign & Domestic. We'll definitely look to stay here again when we come back to Austin.

    Jared2015-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice casita that looks just like the photos. We enjoyed being able to walk the quiet neighborhood and were able to walk to high end dinner (ochiko sushi), food trucks and a nice breakfast at a coffee shop. Everything was ready when we arrived and although we never asked, we felt the owner was available to help if we had questions.

    John2016-05-03T00:00:00Z
  • The Casita was very comfortable and in a great location, all as described. I arrived after dark and had a little trouble finding the driveway, but it was quickly remedied with a phone call to Chris who answered immediately.

    Donald2016-01-30T00:00:00Z
  • Chris' Casita was great for our short stay in Austin. The location is close to everything (by car, we didn't use public transportation), and the casita was stocked with the basics needed for a two-day stay. There's even a Roku equipped with Netflix in case you have an early night. In all, we had a great stay here!

    Christen2015-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • Neighborhood was very nice. Shady and quiet. Casita was cool and comfortable place to return to after a "day on the town" in the heat.

    Scott2016-05-12T00:00:00Z
  • chris and his wife are totally precious--they both met us when we arrived to show us around and point out all of the features/important things to know about the casita and to help us figure out the best way to park (you can literally park right at the door of the casita since it is sort of in an alley). such a cute neighborhood--if you've never been to hyde park in Austin before, just trust me that this is a nice area to stay in when you're there!

    Lauren2015-04-11T00:00:00Z
  • We had an excellent stay at la casita. All of our needs were met and it was very clean. It was perfect for our weekend stay. Excellent location as well!

Cozy backyard cabin with a minimal kitchen, maximum cool. There is one queen size bed in the loft , a fold out couch in the living room. And a cot in the shed. The yard is fenced off from the main house with its own entry gate on the side street. Small animals ok, no attack dogs, under 20 pounds.
At the entrance there is a good size deck with a table and two chairs and a chaise lounge. The great room is the main living space. The bathroom with a no curb shower is at the back off the living room. The mini kitchen is to the right of the living room. There is a small step down, so watch your step. The loft stairs are a bit steep , just to the right at entry . Tall people watch your head as you enter the loft.
Quickie Pickie is the de facto meetup spot. Great mochas! The Ironworks BBQ is a good substitute while Franklins BBQ while it is getting rebuilt. Justine’s is great food, as is Magnolia.
  • Stylish & functional space. Great location, walking distance to multiple restaurants & bars. One of the best Airbnb I’ve stayed in!

    Dennis2019-01-18T00:00:00Z
  • Jake's place is in a great location, and on top of that, is fantastically decorated - a brilliant place to be in Austin!

    Liam2018-06-03T00:00:00Z
  • The space was as expected. Jake was unresponsive prior to check in. He was responsive when we had a security issue with the space. Location was good.

    Abby2018-01-23T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome location close to downtown with great restaurants and bars nearby. Check in was very easy and the house was clean and trendy with fun art. Only downside was no wi-fi but it was not a huge issue. Would recommend to any of my friends staying in Austin!

    Alex2017-12-05T00:00:00Z
  • Really nice place. Centrally located, easy to get downtown from. Decorations were fun. Candies and snacks were laid out if that’s that your thing. Shower was super cool. Toilet paper was the softest I’ve ever felt.

    Brandon2018-11-14T00:00:00Z
  • We had such a great stay at Jake’s place! It’s adorable and cozy and situated in a really cool neighborhood in East Austin. We walked all around the area to incredible restaurants, bars and food trucks! We also had our little pup with us who loved the completely fenced in yard to play in. We had no interaction with Jake before or during our stay, but that didn’t seem to matter because he has everything set up for automatic check-in and check-out. We would gladly stay again in this great little Austin gem.

    Anastasia2018-11-01T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome little guest house with huge private yard space - a hipster's dream vacation house. Bars and restaurants in east Austin as well as downtown are very walkable from this location. Would definitely recommend and stay here again.

  • Super cute and quiet back house with its own fenced yard in a hip area of downtown Austin. Easy self check-in and had everything we needed. Would definitely stay here again!

  • Chris is rad! Super friendly, good recommendations, helped me when I locked myself out haha The place is central, cozy, comfortable, and has great lighting. Next time I wanna try his airstream. Merry Christmas!

  • Fantastic location just two blocks from South Congress Street! Loved the whimsical decor and the goats in the backyard. Chris is a great host and went out of his way to make me feel welcomed to Austin; he even picked me up from the airport with his three pups in tow! He gave me a quick tour of Austin and pointed out some great spots for food and music. Chris is very responsive to texts and a great communicator. I highly recommend staying at the SoCo Cottage!

    Francis2016-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • Chris was great, easy to communicate with, and very welcoming. The location couldn't be more ideal — there's so much within walking distance, and there are a lot of Lyfts and Ubers in the area for a quick pickup.

    Will2015-11-16T00:00:00Z
  • We came during the great snow of 2014! hahaha seriously, it was cold. But, the cottage was wonderful. Because, it is in Austin-which is not equipped to handle cold weather-the house was freezing! But, Chris had heaters set up through out the house and we stayed relatively warm. The bath tub was a favorite feature for us and everything was just so perfect! Thank you, Chris!

    Callie2014-01-30T00:00:00Z
  • The So-Co cottage does not disappoint! Looks just as nice in person as in the pictures. The cottage was full of charm and my wife and I loved the interior design. Chris was so nice offering to the pick us up from the airport and to drive us into downtown later that night. He also gave as a quick tour around South congress (where you wanna be) which helped us get a lay of the land. AirBNB at its best! Thanks Chris

    Sam2014-10-28T00:00:00Z
  • Chris' place was everything you could want in an Airbnb. Great location for walking 5-10 minutes to south congress, 20m to downtown. Great space, with a bedroom, living space with tv, kitchen with coffee, basics, & cold drinks stocked, full bathroom, porch, cold Nest AC, and a fun sense of design. Plus, friendly goats and chickens out back. Plenty of info and recommendations about local restaurants & things to do and see. Chris himself was really friendly- he checked in with us to make sure we were having a good time and drove us to the airport when we had to leave.

    Chris2015-05-06T00:00:00Z
  • Had a great stay at Chris's airbrb! He was very hospitable and had a very clean, beautiful, and comfortable cottage. Would most certainly return!!

    Mario2015-05-10T00:00:00Z
  • Chris' home was better in person even with the great photos of the place. He kept is very clean and even stocked the fridge with a few beverages. He was so kind and very helpful without being intrusive. He went above and beyond as a host. He drove my group to and from ACL everyday. WHAT?!? How awesome is that! Chris is a great host and guy! I will book his place whenever I am back in Austin! Thank you for a great experience Chris!! The location could not be better! Close to everything cool in Austin and not so close that guests find parking a nightmare. The neighborhood was quiet and you felt very safe at the SoCo Cottage. He has another house on the property and you never knew other guests were there.

Small private studio apartment in the backyard of an east side bungalow. One of the original “tiny homes” in Austin built to provide artist residency and lovingly named the “Birdhouse". Rustic and small but all you need for a close, affordable Eastside/Downtown experience. Quiet neighborhood for being seconds away from the action. This spot fits one comfortably, two intimately. Walking/biking distance to downtown and east side bars and restaurants. Easy access to Town Lake trails.
We have a very cute, small studio space with kitchenette and full bathroom in the back of our home. Desk folds away for more room. There is a twin bed with an extra mattress you can put on the floor. Town Lake is 1/2 mile away and downtown is 1 mile. Walk to many of the east side bars. If you haven't experienced the East Side of Austin, you're in for a treat! Hip "Weather Up" bar just two blocks away. Bars and restaurants of the Rainey Street district an easy 1 mile walk. Convention center is a 1 mile walk. East 5th & 6th bars and restaurants are within 1 mile walk. We walk downtown all the time! 2 blocks to the bus stop, 5 blocks to the train stop that takes you right to the Convention Center. Charming quiet and safe Holly street neighborhood. Separate alley entrance. No smoking and no pets. WiFi available. *Please note that the birdhouse has been through some changes! It's super cute, but lived in, and we have a TWIN bed in there now, with and extra mattress that can be set up on the floor (6 inch height difference) for additional guests. Just let us know! Also cooking equipment available with notice!*
  • Booked to stay here for a long weekend. When we arrived the first night, turned the lights on and a cockroach ran across the bed. The inside looked like it had not been cleaned thoroughly for some time. Including broken boards under the futon, the general condition of the Birdhouse was misrepresented by the pictures. Lastly, the “curtains” on the doors/windows were thin paper taped on with scotch tape, so we didn't feel like there was a ton of privacy. Unfortunately, after the first night we packed up and left. Elizabeth was very apologetic and understanding of the situation and refunded us immediately. She was very easy to communicate with throughout the experience, but we weren’t happy with the condition of the house. Only writing this review to warn others as we researched extensively and didn’t find anything negative hinting at the experience we had.

    Katie2015-06-16T00:00:00Z
  • great place for two people to stay, just as described and with everything we needed. we got in quite late and Elizabeth was able to accommodate without issue. good temperature, comfy bed, wifi, and walking distance to a ton of great places for coffee, food, drinks. would stay again. thanks!

    Kati2014-10-22T00:00:00Z
  • The Birdhouse was the perfect size for me and my traveling friend and in a convenient and great location for getting around downtown/south/east Austin. Elizabeth was the most sincere, friendly and accommodating person to rent from. She went out of her way to offer info, suggestions and even a ride if we needed it! I strongly recommend checking availability with her if you are ever in Austin. I know I will when I come back!

    Philip2013-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • The Birdhouse was not very clean. Elizabeth was always very nice but was not at the house at the time of our trip.

    Patric2016-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • We booked 4 nights in the birdhouse and would have to describe it as an average experience. Elizabeth is a responsive and kind host who was available whenever we needed her. The location is not far from 6th street nightlife. However we didn't feel that in comparison to other air BnB of the same cost that it provided the same standard / experience. The futon mattress is lumpy and uncomfortable and the white paper blinds on window's and patio doors were stuck with tape and didn't cover them entirely, so it was bright and not very private. It has good potential but to us it felt a bit neglected.

    Ruth2015-02-08T00:00:00Z
  • I had a great time. Loved the location and how cute it was. The temperature can drop and it is definitely noise sensitive but overall I had a fab stay and would pick it again. you

A wonderful little retreat right in the middle of Austin. The cabin is only 180 sq ft but has everything you need. Twin bed with 500 thread count sheets, fine towels, coffee & tea setup. While very simple, it is about a third the price of a hotel.
The "Zen Cabin" is a tiny 180 sq ft hideaway & is perfect for ONE person. It is a serene, quiet space (heavily insulated soundproofing) right in the center of town: Hyde Park just north of UT. Walking distance to coffee shops, restaurants and grocery stores. 10 minute walk to UT. Bike distance to downtown. Note: **ONLY ONE GUEST ** There is a full bathroom and twin bed, and it is adjacent to a large garden with many seating options that are you are welcome to use. I look forward to hosting you! Features: *Free WIFI *500 thread count sheets *mini fridge *Nespresso coffee/tea set up *plush towels *off street parking *on main bus routes *towels and toiletries provided
Hyde Park is one of the favorite neighborhoods in Austin. Most homes date from the 1920s and there are large established trees. The neighborhood contains Central Market North for gourmet groceries & Wheatsville food co-op for your hippie fix. There are also many great restaurants such as VinoVino, Asti, Julio's, Uchiko, Tacodeli, Zen. In addition, it is just north of UT Campus.
  • Tracy's place was awesome! Super clean and comfortable - it's perfect if you're traveling alone. It's in a really quite neighborhood and still really close to downtown (I was there for ACL and just walked to the metro to get to Zikler Park). Tracy was a great host as well - I told her I would be arriving a little earlier than expected and she went out of her way to everything ready by the time I got there. She has the cabin set up with a coffee and tea cabinet, a mini-fridge, and a booklet of all the places to eat in the area which she has personally commented on.

  • Tracy’s place was absolutely wonderful! The check-in was great and it was a close distance to some awesome places to grab coffee and food. I felt completely relaxed the entire stay there. It came with so much more than I expected. Would definitely come back on my stay in Austin. Thank you for your hospitality!

There was a little noise in the backyard the first night, but when I asked Tracy about it she took care of it right away. It was nice and quiet for the remainder of the trip. Her hospitality exceeded well beyond my expectations and I will definitely be back!

    Devin2014-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • This place was fantastic and exactly what I was looking for. I was in town visiting with some friends and needed a cozy place to rest my head. The bed was extremely comfortable and the shower was fantastic. There was even a little coffee maker and fridge so I could have a couple snacks. Check-in was a breeze and Tracy made me feel completely welcome. This place was zen indeed! Would definitely recommend and absolutely will stay here again if I'm ever back in Austin without my family.

    Sara2015-06-30T00:00:00Z
  • Tracy's cozy zen cottage is all that. The bed is super comfy. The bathroom has plenty of room especially the shower. Tracy has thought of everything. Besides a basic sheet of info, there are city guides, bus maps and schedules. The instructions for the coffee machine are in the armoire with the coffee pods, an iron and corkscrew amongst other niceties. She provides plenty of power options for charging your electronics and there is WiFi. You come and go through the side gate without disturbing anyone. If you have the need there is a laundromat a block away. Be advised this is lodging for one person as there is only a twin bed. I highly recommend it.

  • Thomas is a real super host. We have decided that we will stay with him for all of our future Austin trips. His place was as comfy as our own home. You can’t put a fair price on feeling relaxed and welcome.

    Crystal2018-07-08T00:00:00Z
  • Thomas is a super host! Right from check in, to check out - he was always available and made sure I was comfortable at his place. He helped me, with local tips to explore the place, places to eat, look around. His place is warm and feels like home. This place is like, home away from home. Would love to visit Austin again, and stay at his place. Thank you, Thomas!

  • Awesome place! great, quiet street! was super comfortable

  • Max & Josie's place is very comfortable and conveniently located near attractions and (more importantly) Whataburger – which was our first meal in Austin. We checked into a nicely cooled space with lots of bug seal. It made our stay very comfortable. Check-in and check-out were super convenient and they were very accommodating for our late check-in and early check-out. There was plenty of street parking. We had a great stay. It was very lovely talking to Max!

    Sandy2017-09-18T00:00:00Z
  • I couldn't have picked a more perfect place to stay.

    Sunnie2018-05-04T00:00:00Z
  • The listing was as described. I really liked the neighborhood. It was quiet and nearby freeways were easily accessible. I got a little lost on the way there due to being diverted away from 290 by a traffic accident, but Max assured me I was on the right place and was flexible with our arrival time. He was very personable when we met. He struck me as an interesting personality right away. We also met his lady friend and they made sure we were settled in once we arrived. I loved all the art around the place and the bed. Max was nice enough to provide ample toiletries. The place was very clean and I felt at home.

    Shannon2016-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • Loved this place! Just like the pictures, close to a lot in the city. Love!

    Jesus2019-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • I am not sure how this place had so many 5 star reviews. It was dark and, frankly, kind of creepy. Overall it was clean but the neighborhood was sketch and the few lights that were in there didn’t have bulbs. I had seen that in the reviews when I booked but thot “surely” such a simple item would have been attended to... ah... no! As of Jan 2019, it had not been. The owners seem nice but I won’t stay here again.

    Trina2019-01-17T00:00:00Z
  • Super cute apartment! The decor is wonderful (I seriously want my house decorated like this), and the kitchen is extremely well-stocked with appliances and utensils. • Staying at this beautiful studio loft was wonderful! The leaves outside and rain made our trip memorable coming from dry California. It was private, and felt like home. The decor is beautiful in white colors. All amenities were included. Such a pleasure to walk along the river to downtown. If we come back to Austin, we will definitely check back for this place if it's available.

    Michelle2015-12-12T00:00:00Z
  • We had the BEST trip ever! The location was awesome. Jeany was so helpful in letting us store our bags at her house before check in so we didnt have to take our bags around Austin while we explored. Great host & amenities!

    Erin2018-06-03T00:00:00Z
  • We very much enjoyed our stay. The apartment is clean and well located with everything you need. There is plenty of parking in the area and it's close to a number of restaurants and bars and not too far from downtown or Rainey Street. We look forward to our next Austin visit!

    Joseph2016-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • The host was super easy to work with and the place was really cute! I would suggest having a car if you stay here, though, as it's about a 20-30 minute walk to downtown Austin (we didn't mind walking, but having a car was ideal). The place was nice and clean, but we did have some connectivity issues with the internet. No iron, either, but that's not a deal breaker! Really great place overall!

    Rebecca2014-04-17T00:00:00Z
  • Jeany and Mose were very kind and quick to respond to my request to stay at their place especially on such short notice. Their place was very clean and relaxing. The location was great and walkable to grate food and bars. It's only a 15-20 minutes (walk and bus) ride to downtown.

    Jon2017-04-28T00:00:00Z
  • This place was great! Quiet and clean. Close to Rainey Street where there are tons of unique Austin restaurants. Loved it!!!

    Jo2017-01-29T00:00:00Z
  • We loved staying at Jeany's guest house. This was my first stay with an airbnb host, and my husband and I could not have been happier. The space was very clean and the bed was more comfy than any hotel bed I have ever slept in. The location was within walking distance to the lake and a short drive to many popular Austin attractions. Jeany was very accommodating and was quick to message me back with responses to any questions I had. I would highly recommend this location to anyone looking for a wonderful stay in Austin.

    Jennifer2014-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • The directions & description of the place were spot on. Whenever I messaged Jeany, she would respond almost instantly. There were amenities that I would not expect hosts to have available (shampoo, soap, etc) I would definitely recommend this place to anyone. It was also a great location!

  • This place was so perfect. It was decorated both with style and comfort, a very welcoming ambiance with a bit of character as well. The extra touches (list of local places, snacks, water, & a beer) were so thoughtful. The bed was comfy, the space was extremely clean, and I would recommend their space to anybody.

    Saira2017-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • This house is amazing! It’s so cute inside, with the claw foot tub in the bathroom and industrial looking chandeliers in the main area. Our hosts were very accommodating and left us goodies to welcome us along with a list of local activities and restaurants. The AC was on along with a fan so we were nice and cool during our stay and the bed was SO COMFY. The area is really cool and in the middle of everything. We kept joking about how everything is 5-15 minutes away from us in all directions. 12/10 would recommend.

    Jaymie2018-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • Clare's place was in the perfect location. It was so close to everything we love to do in Austin, while also introducing us to little neighborhoods we had never seen. The room was clean, quiet, super cute, and came with little touches of love and welcome gifts. I'd definitely recommend this adorable little room to anyone visiting the area.

    Brianna2018-04-02T00:00:00Z
  • Clare's space is awesome! It's cute, cozy, and just what my friend and I needed: a welcoming place to crash during a fun trip. The bed was SUPER comfortable, and the space was just the right size. Plus, the location can't be beat. We were only a maximum of 5 miles from anywhere we wanted to be. Overall, I loved it! I would definitely stay here again!

    Melody2018-07-18T00:00:00Z

  • Tiffany & Joshua's AirBnB location was extremely accommodating. I was traveling to Austin for ACL Weekend 2, and didn't arrive at the home until midnight. Joshua was still awake and very polite showing me & my friend to the front "apartment" of the house. It was very cute, comfortable, and provided everything we needed for our stay. The Keurig was a very nice touch! I would definitely stay here again upon coming back to Austin... Thanks again!

It's decorated kind of quirky and fun - suits Austin ;) The apartment is small for a bigger group (we had four adults and a toddler), but it's really all you need if you're planning to be out and about a lot and mostly just need a place to regroup and crash. They had it stocked with coffee, water, and breakfast bars! Their list of local recommendations was spot on and very helpful. We'd definitely stay there if we needed a place in Austin again :)

  • This tiny home is a once in a lifetime experience. Sooooo unique and worth it + Joel is AMAZING!

    Brooke2018-06-28T00:00:00Z
  • Joel was a great host and the tiny house is bigger on the inside. The bed and couch were comfy and there's even cool LED lights inside. Travelers with a fear of heights should be wary though because you have to climb up around 10 feet to reach the loft bed.

    Christine2018-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • Joel was a great host and the tiny house was a wonderful experience! I would totally recommend and return.

    Alexis2017-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • It was such a cute place! Joel was a very responsive host. Felt safe at night, loved that it was near restaurants that deliver, and was a short trip from the airport. Also cute decor and comfortable bed. Would definitely stay again!

  • Great place in a quiet neighborhood with easy access to my job site downtown by auto.

    David2017-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • One of the coolest airb&bs ive stayed in so far. Loved every tiny detail about this tiny home.

    Esmeralda2018-12-21T00:00:00Z
  • First time for me in a tiny home. Biggest surprise was the shower - stylish design, large, and quite functional. Joel is an attentive host with proactive communication. Location is a short ride to downtown and a perfect alternative to generic 1970/80s hotels.

    Michael2018-02-14T00:00:00Z

  • Great condo. Spacious and clean. Would highly recommend

    Elon2018-09-13T00:00:00Z
  • I enjoyed the style of the recently remodeled space and convenient access to the freeway and short distance to downtown.

    Jenny2018-06-03T00:00:00Z
  • Jason did a great job communicating. I had a few concerns after initially checking in to the space and he immediately responded and came over the next day to review my concerns. Although the place is accommodating be aware that the space is a bit "dated". Jason has done a great job sprucing the inside of the space up. New beds, new furniture, new paint, however the building itself is old and has an unclean appearance however it is not dirty, it is just an older building. The water pressure was on and off while showering, at times it barely came out of the shower head. Jason does communicate that noise can be heard from the unit above, and there is no doubt, quite a bit of noise. It can even be a little difficult to get some rest if you are trying to get some early sleep. Over all, Jason is a good host, and is offering the best he can in light of the age of the building.

    Thomas2018-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Lots of room for a larger group. The pool is great!

    Sierra2018-05-28T00:00:00Z
  • Apartment was clean and comfortable, with a reasonably sized kitchen and lots of space. In a great location, and easy to get downtown. Jason responds quickly and overall the place is a great value.

    Brianna2018-11-27T00:00:00Z
  • Jasons place is definitely worth it and the place to stay. Some reviews may say the area is a little worry some but it shows me no issue and holds a great placement for the value as well. Lots of food near by! Walked around at midnight and had no issue with the neighbors or people around.

    Chris2018-12-19T00:00:00Z
  • My family and I had a great stay! Convenient location, exactly what we needed for our trip. Would stay again!

    Rachel2019-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Jason is a very easy to reach host. He’s easy to communicate with and his home was easy to come and go from. Check in is very easy and the house is tidy. Jason even leaves coffee and filters for you to use. The only issue we had was the water pressure, which was pretty bad. We had a day when showering or flushing was an issue. Jason stayed in touch as we dealt with the issue and all in all it was a good stay. We’d be happy to stay at one of Jason’s places again.

  • Jason's place was great. It's only a couple minutes away from many of the sights to see in Austin

  • Loved staying here for a long weekend trip celebrating my birthday with friends. Jason was quick to respond and super flexible, even allowing us to extend checkout time by a couple of hours since we had a night time flight. The place was as described, clean, and a quick drive to downtown. Check in and check out was painless and I would recommend anyone to stay here during your visit to Austin!

    Hanya2018-01-15T00:00:00Z
  • Really nice interior, loved the decor and condo space. Like others have said the complex is in the “less safe” area of Austin but it wasn’t an issue for us. We enjoyed our stay. Thanks!

    Esther2018-04-10T00:00:00Z
  • Needed a last minute place to stay and Jason was quick to respond. Very clean place and not far from downtown Austin.

    Stephen2017-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was perfect

    Jonathan2018-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • this is a great spot for 5-6 folks to stay in, about 10 mins from downtown Austin. The apartment stayed cool during the 105 degree heat. Jason's instructions were clear and helpful. Unfortunately the pool had been drained upon arrival and we had a bit of trouble controlling the water temperature. Otherwise this place comes at a great value.

Cielo Room is a natural, well-lit suite (full bathroom, queen bed [NEW mattress 12/18)], cotton sheets) with a private off-street parking spot, and separate entrance. The second story room is comfortable and lofty, with many windows looking out onto our East Austin neighborhood. Our sweet dog is in the yard but not in the apartment. A/C and heat. Yes wifi. No TV. Yes coffeemaker, yes electric kettle, yes fridge, no microwave. Towels, hand and shower soap, shampoo, & iron provided.
Cozy, clean, bright, our apartment is atop a permanent residence and looks into trees. Close to lots of East Austin food and bars, and a quick jaunt to downtown.
We are close to Cesar Chavez Street attractions, (food trucks, great restaurants, coffee shops, bars, convenience stores barbecue) and about 1.5 miles from the middle of downtown.
  • Our first time in Austin was incredible thanks in part to Ginger and her amazing apartment. This was a perfect launch pad to all of the best neighborhoods in town. The photos show the apartment exactly how you'll find it if you stay with her. I would definitely stay here on our next visit and recommend it to family and friends. Thanks Ginger!

    Jeff2016-05-02T00:00:00Z
  • This place was a god send for SXSW. While other places were charging 300-400$ a night, ginger was lovely enough to only charge $170 and it included a parking spot. The place is small but is comparable to a hotel room: bed, 2 chairs, mini fridge, coffee maker, bathtub and shower. It was a 20 min walk to the convention center and located in an area you can get to before traffic hits. Tons of restaurant and bars in the neighborhood as well as music venues if you are interested in the sxsw music scene. Someone before me complained about the unkempt yard and though it isn't a traditionally maintained yard, it isnt bad at all and her dog Lizzie didn't bark the whole time! The bathroom is clean and new so that made me happy. Great place and thank you so much for charging us at reasonable price for such an amazingly located spot. I hope the rate stays the same for next sx! Some tips that might make the stay better: maybe some black out curtains. The place has great natural lighting but the sun is killer in the morning and it increases the heat in the room.

    Diana2015-03-22T00:00:00Z
  • Communication, arrival, stay and departure worked perfectly. Ginger provides fast WIFI in her small but cosy apartment. Thanks Ginger, we would come back any time!

    Nikolai2015-09-13T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely time staying at Ginger's place. The room was very clean, quiet and comfortable. Good restaurants and cafes were within walking distance. I would definitely stay here again.

  • El Cielo Room is such a beautiful place to stay! There is a total serenity about the place from the green walls to all the natural light, we loved being there and feeling zen. It is all new and very clean and tastefully decorated. The neighborhood is so quiet for sleeping and yet just a short bike ride or walk to the river and downtown so it's an ideal location. Ginger was also a great host, answering our questions regarding renting bikes and cabs and being helpful and detailed. She also had teas and coffee all ready for us in the apartment when we arrived, which was such a nice touch! The place has an electric tea pot and small fridge so we were able to have breakfasts there as well.

    Nichole2014-05-05T00:00:00Z
  • Ginger was very easy to communicate with prior to our stay and responding very quickly to any queries. The apartment is exactly as advertised and well stocked with all the essentials you would expect. Wifi worked very well. Note: there is no TV and the apartment gets plenty of natural sunlight, especially in the mornings, so if you enjoy sleeping in be wary! The neighbourhood is pleasant and residential, a few good places to eat and drink nearby. The trip to downtown is about 10 minutes by car including traffic.

    Rammy2016-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • Really enjoyed the stay! Apartment was nice, clean, well situated, close to downtown!

    Thomas2018-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • The room was a peaceful escape from city life. It was a nice place to relax after a long day exploring downtown, which was only a quick drive away. There were also lots of restaurants located around their neighborhood, which was quiet and very eclectic. It was everything we needed for our short vacation in Austin.

  • I stay in a lot of Austin Air BNB’s and this is absolutely a new favorite. Nice touches, ridiculously close to SoCo but also quiet. To tip it off - there’s a friendly pet pig just behind the back yard gate. This is a definite return visit for me.

From our first correspondence to my final farewell Gina and Aaron made me feel comfortable and welcome staying with them. Everything I needed was present, the location was convenient, the lodging itself felt cozy and accommodating, and even though my stay was short, my hosts quickly felt like old friends. Can't recommend Gina and Aaron's place enough.

Nice apartment and great location! It was able to simply walk around and enjoy the Downtown. If you have a car, there is a parking spot under the building. Kristi was very friendly and helpful, and her recommendations about what to do and places where eat were great. I highly recommend staying here if you are in the Austin area.
