By train
From Tokyo Take JR Tohoku shinkansen from Tokyo Station to Shinhanamaki station where you can connect to JR Kamaishi line which terminates at Kamaishi station. Alternatively, you can get off at Kitakami station or Morioka station and rent a car and drive to Kamaishi.
By plane
Iwate Hanamaki is the nearest airport to Kamaishi. You can fly there from airports in Fukuoka, Nagoya, Osaka (Itami), and Sapporo (Shinchitose).
