I’ll share stories about how we relocate beehives to areas with specific flowers and plants, and you’ll enjoy cutting and tasting fresh honeycomb . • Next, we’ll visit a nearby spot to try handmade loukoumades (Greek donuts) topped with monovarietal honeys, praline, and traditional spoon sweets like black cherry and grape. Cooking grandmother's recipes

After having a little aperitif, we are going to create a 6 course menu, including a starter, a salad, one vegetarian main dish, one with seafood, one with meat and a dessert. Of course we can change the menu if you have any food allergy or dislikes (e.g. vegetarian, vegan, gluten free). Afterwards, we are going to sit all together and enjoy the fruits of our labor, accompanied by wine and ouzo. In the end I will give you all the recipes from my grandmother. Other things to note Please let us know in advance if you have any food allergies or dislikes. Also, we can create a vegetarian, vegan or gluten free menu.

Traditional Greek food tour in hidden Athens

The no 1 Airbnb experience in all of Greece! Discover the most authentic and fresh, traditional Athenian food in non tourist areas and hidden spots of Athens! The places you may not find alone! Visit local streets and see, taste and shop for cheese, cured meat, fruits, sweets and spices in the markets full of colour, scents and noise. Sample olives, oil and honey from a farmer and local barrel wine made on the tavernas premises. On tours starting at 3.00pm , the fish and meat market are starting to close so we go quickly to see as much as possible. On Sundays and weekly tours starting after 3.30pm markets ARE SHUT so on this tour we will visit a taverna and eat traditional Athenian food and go to a spice shop and a honey and olive oil producer to taste these amazing products! We will enjoy a fantastic deli with a cured meat and cheese tasting and sample Greek coffee and fruits from a local producer. Many tastings offered including sit down meals of meat and fish on all our tours, as you learn about Greek culture from people who live it daily. All about olive farming on Naxos.

We will begin with an introduction to organic olive farming , focusing on cultivation methods which result in healthy trees and top quality olive oil. You will learn to identify some of the varieties of olive tree, and will acquire basic (or more advanced if you are interested) knowledge of growing olives. We will give you a briefing on the exciting, ongoing research on the health giving properties of excellent olive oil and you will learn about the role of oleocanthal in promoting good health. We will show you round the farm and then if you wish you can participate in watering, pruning, repairing stone terraces, mending olive nets or picking olives (the harvest is from October onwards). Finally you will enjoy a well deserved tasting session, with our own delicious olive oil and different accompaniments. Other things to note We are happy to tailor your experience to whatever aspect of olive growing you are most interested in and can adapt the activities to all levels of fitness.
