Caves, Cavern & History Walk
Follow me on an unforgettable journey, through the Lake District's famously beautiful landscapes of mountains, forests, and valleys, where together we will uncover spectacular caves and a HUGE cavern. Feel the chill as you enter the 400ft tunnel... immerse yourself in darkness... lose yourself in mystery... Nothing can prepare you for the feeling of wonder you will experience inside the caves & cavern - just don't forget your camera or your friends will never believe you. Step back in time as I teach you about how this incredible landscape was formed through violent volcanic & glacial events millions of years ago. Unearth the long-forgotten past & understand how ancient beliefs in gods and spirits brought bloodshed to these lands. Learn of the hardships faced by men, women & children working in the mills and the mines during the Victorian era and understand how Wordsworth's poetry helped to transform society. This is a stunning circular hike that will leave you breathless at the beauty of nature & marveling at the Lake District's history. This is a DOG-FRIENDLY walk so please feel free to bring your furry companions along! On-street parking is available free of charge. Please do not park in the pub car park. Need transport? I can collect you from your guesthouse in Windermere / Ambleside or South Lakes area for £10.
Bays & Beaches of Ullswater by Kayak
Ullswater, quite rightly, is considered the most beautiful of the big lakes. It features bays & beaches, islands and lots of scenery. The ethos on the trips is always the same. Enjoy the scenery, have a chat, pass on a bit of knowledge to, and learn from, people looking for a similar venture. The first thing we'll do is sort out what's needed for the trip and introduce the boat. We use double ( tandem ) sea kayaks, unless there is an odd number of people on the trip, then the single is available. This is followed by a quick brief on what to do, then it's on to the water. There's no set route or furthest out point. I'll always take the group and the conditions into consideration. There is beautiful scenery all along the lake. Free parking for most trips ( some parking restrictions May - Sept & Bank Holidays ). Be aware that if you have a BMI of 26 or over, weigh over 102 Kg ( 16 Stones ), or have very little upper body strength, this Experience is not for you.

Meditate with horses
A brief but inspiring discussion on meditation and why we do it with horses will motivate you to be dedicated and vigilant in your practice. Then we go and meet the horses and I will teach you the basics in animal meditation. Then we groom the horses; this is the best way to get the horses to accept you as herd members as they bond by grooming each other. As we start to meditate, the more stable, connected and balanced the client, the easier it is for the horse to step into his role of soothing, regulating, teaching and inspiring with his gentle and peaceful energy. Often the horses will lie down and we can get down on the grass with them and be close and connected. We work on touching the horses in specific areas and watching for significant reactions to detect connection. There is often an opportunity to test your connection by asking the horses to follow you without a lead and then you can take a little walk together. We often finish with a beautiful guided meditation which will be chosen depending on the specific needs of the client. We always end the session with gratitude and a big horsey cuddle. Other things to note In the summer there may be flies. Bring sun hats and sun cream. Wrap up warm and water proof on winter and please wear wellies or firm boots. No experience of horses or meditation needed but please arrive with an open heart and an open mind.
Sunrise from the summit of Helvellyn
After meeting we will discuss the day ahead, check equipment and ensure we have everything needed for a safe ascent of Helvellyn. With head torches switched on we will begin our climb of Helvellyn. On a good but rocky mountain path we will zig zag up bracken covered slopes until we reach the subsidiary peak of Lower Man. We will then follow the ridge to the summit of Helvellyn. We will arrive at the summit just before dawn as the dark fades and a golden light bathes the far reaching views. From our lofty perch we will see the sun burst over the horizon, rise in to the sky and transform the landscape. Illuminated mountain slopes will glow with colour, deep shadows will highlight shape and form and we will feel the warmth of the new day. There will be plenty of time for photographs, a hot drink and snack before we begin our descent. During the day we will hear about local tales and legends, discuss mountain features and look at the wildlife. Providing you with a rich and memorable experience.

Hadrian's Wall Two Hour Tour
Ancient Britain’s award winning Hadrian's Wall tour, ‘Roam with the Romans’ transports you back 2000 years to a time when Hadrian's Wall was a frontier, a place where two cultures collided. Your local guide, dressed in authentic costume of the era, weaves a narrative from both sides of the wall (the tales of the natives, and the stories told by the occupying forces) as Roman history comes to life when you discover just what Britain was like under the Caesars. Cawfields makes a magnificent backdrop as you explore the hidden archaeological gems of the wall by foot, see our favourite sections of this breath-taking world heritage site. Other things to note The AD 122 bus runs regularly from Hexham and Haltwhistle. Taxis are easy to book. Hexham and Haltwhistle have a regular train service from Newcastle and Carlisle.

Once you've booked and found your way to Whinlatter Forest, we will meet you at the visitor centre. After an introduction and covid safety briefing we will walk you to our alpaca boys eagerly waiting for a walk and some snacks. We will show you how to walk an alpaca and introduce you to your walk buddy. Once we're all ready we'll head off on our walk through the forest, along the way our guide will tell you about your alpaca, answer any questions you have and give you a complete lesson in alpacas and llamas. We have several stops for snacking and selfies and an amazing viewpoint with views over the Lake District. On our journey we will be on multi-user trails and single tracks enjoying England's only Mountain Forest. At the end of our walk we will give you time to get selfies, feed the alpacas and ask any more burning questions. Breath work and assisted wild swim
Wild swimming in water falls, plunge pools and lakes can be daunting. Not to mention cold! We have spent years optimising the experience of cold water with breath work to benefit our bodies and minds and overcome our fears while learning how to keep ourselves safe. We start the session in a private and beautiful spot by a river where we relax and prepare the body and motivate the mind with intense breath work and meditation practices. We then take a short but scenic walk to waterfalls with plunge pools to assist you in immersing in the cold water and understanding how to keep yourself well in this practice. There will be lots of advice and explanation on the safety of waters and rivers and what to look for to be confident that you can keep yourself safe while outdoor swimming.
