Helen’s home is truly a hidden gem. We needed somewhere to stay close to Arthur’s Pass, and we are so lucky to have found this place. Our bedroom (and basically any other living area in her home) had an absolutely gorgeous view of the valley and the mountains. While we were there, another couple also was staying at Helen’s home in another bedroom. We all had dinner together that night and shared lots of fun stories. Helen was a great cook! She also made us a delicious breakfast the following morning and was kind enough to work around our early-morning schedule. Helen was not only amazing host, but also a very kind and gracious person. We felt so welcomed into her home almost immediately. I really loved talking to her about her outdoor adventures. She was extremely helpful and gave us suggestions on things to check out at Arthur’s Pass. Thank you so much, Helen, for your amazing hospitality! I wholeheartedly recommend Helen’s place!

Shirley and husband were generous hosts. Super attractive home set up for guests. Room had balcony with view over lush flowering garden. Everything five stars including breakfast.

We absolutely loved our stay at Waikonini Homestead! From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed with tea and cake, setting the tone for a truly delightful experience. We stayed one night in ‘Owen’s Room’, and as no other guests were booked during our visit, the homestead felt wonderfully tranquil. The warm, cozy bed made for an incredibly comfortable night, and the meals were a perfect finish to the night. Dinner (prebooked) featured a fish pie, followed by a mince tart with homemade custard—comfort food at its very finest. Mary, our host, truly made the experience unforgettable. Her warm hospitality and engaging conversations about travel, dogs, and life made us feel completely at home. And her delightful Corgis, Peppi and Anne—oh, they were absolutely adorable! The homestead itself is a treasure—an elegant old home surrounded by stunning grounds that invite you to relax and explore. The perfect blend of timeless charm and modern comfort.

Kirsty has a beautiful home and we were well looked after during our stay. We were kindly provided breakfast at a time that suited us, which set us up nicely for the day! The bed was very comfy although unfortunately the sheep did keep me up at night, as I am not used to farm life! Saying this, one of the sheep did get out which I'm sure isn't a usual occurrence. I would stay at Kirsty's place again - thank you!

Fiona and Steven were both so lovely and made me feel right at home in their house. It's the first time I've stayed in a room in a house before and it was wonderful. Beautifully tidy room and bathroom. And so close to the university and local shops.

A beautiful and historic manor! As an experience of living in a manor, I recommend staying here, but don't expect too much from the facilities. Due to its long history and other reasons, the furniture and facilities have inevitably become old. The water pressure on the second floor is unstable, and there is an unpleasant smell in the house. Rob seemed tired. He briefly introduced the house and then was busy with other things, so we didn't have much conversation. However, we were allowed to walk around and visit, and use the kitchen freely! Still, thank you very much, Rob. I hope everything goes well for him!

We stayed at Shirley’s place for a week and we enjoyed our stay. Everything’s nice and tidy. We felt at home, although I was bit worried at first because my husband and my daughter don’t speak English. But it turned out just fine and actually they enjoyed their stay too!

Our home stay was awesome,great company. A Kiwi and an Aussie was an experience. Many tales of off road trekking in Oz. Worldwide travel and work stories. So generous with hospitality and dinner home cooked. Great hot tub 42oC fantastic. Plenty of advice about the local area. We have invited them to visit us in the UK sometime. Highly recommend this place with caravan, cabin and Bach as well.

Karen and Rob were amazing hosts! Great recommendations and help navigating around Christchurch. They had a beautiful home that was perfect waking distance to the city. Greatly appreciate their effort and hospitality :)

This was my second stay with Karen. I'm a solo, senior female and her space is ideal. Clean, cozy, perfectly situated and very reasonable. And Karen is a great host. Highly recommend it for a solo female traveller.

Brilliant hosts fantastic place. Briar and Shaun are extremely welcoming and make you feel right at home in their beautiful house. They provide great advice and suggestions on what to do based on your preferences both locally and further afield. We had really great conversations and Briar makes really good cakes! As a guest you have access to the lounge area so can relax and make yourself at home. Definitely happy to recommend

Ruth and Brian have created a very welcoming, comfortable and private space in their home, perfect for our short stay at Kaikoura. Loved being so close to the lookout with its spectacular view. Stopping at Ohua, to see the seals as we headed north, was a great recommendation we were grateful for.

Just when I thought our Airbnb experiences could not be beaten there was Colleen and Trevor. They made us feel like family whilst still retaining discreet sensitivity to our privacy. Nothing was too much effort. Home baked goodies too! Beautiful Lilly the dog has been well trained to offer you as much or as little attention as you would like. We could not rate this stay more highly and hope to meet up with Colleen and Trevor again one day.

We are so pleased to have recently stayed at Scarborough House. Ted and Sue are the most welcoming and hospitable hosts who insured that our stay was nothing but the best. Their guest suites are extremely comfortable with all of the comforts of home. The views from this property are stunning and we appreciated the special marine life of Kaikoura.

This is a unique and bona fide Boutique BnB! You’ll want to spend some time just exploring the antiquity and treasures in Dalkeith BnB, where you’ll find all kinds of treasures! The bed and linens are heavenly, along with the ensuite bathroom, the breakfasts were glorious and the care & attention Julie the host, extends is brilliant! Great location, everything walkable, Kaiapoi Museum is phenomenal, along with all amenities nearby. I loved staying here, the property’s gardens are glorious and 4 nights went by so fast! Very well priced and best BnB I have experienced. Kaiapoi is a little gem of a town not to be missed!

Charmaine is a lovely host who went above and beyond to make my stay comfortable. She showed me around, pointing out where the ferry departs, where the stores are, and how to get to the pool, and she even waited for me to arrive. She provided all the essentials — coffee, tea, bread, jam, butter, milk, cereal, and some veggies — which was very thoughtful. The house itself is more than great! The decoration is beautiful, with cozy sofas and spacious rooms that look like they belong in a catalog. I had the option to choose which room I wanted, which was a nice touch. From the porch, living room, and my room, I had a stunning view of the ocean and the port. It was lovely sitting on the porch with a cup of coffee, just relaxing and enjoying the scenery. The location is perfect — only one block away from shops, restaurants, and an organic food store and very close to the walking path to the Gondola, which is just a 40-minute walk from the house. I highly recommend Charmaine’s place! ❤️

It felt like coming home! Colleen (Trevor was out tramping at Cook Mountain) welcomed me warmly and had great suggestions what I could do. This B&B is definitely one of the best, ever, and I would return any time! On the morning when I left I could actually see Cook Mountain from my bedroom! Did not make it easier to leave!

Colleen was very helpful and a mine of information for our flying visit. We will have to come back to do it justice. Everything was very comfortable and super clean.
