An Insider's Taste of Burgundy
We will start with a look at maps and other visuals of the region to give you a sense of the appellations, the notion of "terroir", and how the wines are classified here to offer a backdrop for the wine tastings.
Then we will head into the vineyards and through the charming wine villages to discover the nectar of Burgundy. A typical day will include 3 wine tastings at small family domaines, where you will taste an array of their wines, often with the winemaker themselves.
Between the visits we will be stopping in the vineyards to get a closer look at where some of the most famous and expensive wines in the world are grown. Learn about the viticultural methods specific to the region, and the origins of wine production here going back over 2000 years.
Like a great wine, balance is necessary! We can include visits to a medieval castle or a famous historical site, and indulge in visiting some of the local culinary delights to be found here, including cheese, chocolates and truffles.
And of course to fully understand Burgundy one should pair the wines with a delicious local meal... There is a cornucopia of great restaurants to choose from, depending on the style you prefer.

In Dijon I offer wine shops/co-op wine experiences that "we" could provide small wine delivery(DHL) straight to your home or just have fun. I'm a licensed importer/exporter & people always ask how to get wine home?
1. We'll meet at the train station (Dijon GARE) & walk.
2. Start with a wine tasting at the Market(Le Marché) and locals know on Tuesdays-Fridays-Saturdays it's where to be!
3. In the afternoon we'll continue with traditional French cuisine, and a wine pairing for lunch at my favorite restaurant (the area is from medieval times)
4. After or before lunch we will attend a wine tasting in a building dating back to the XVI Century!
5. "If there's time?" We'll stroll through time to our last glass of wine, at a cafe located on one of the oldest streets in Dijon. This street dates back to the 4th century, and a great place to unwind after the day. Or Have a mustard tasting, and a chance for you to purchase some gifts for home. Throughout the tour we'll talk about wine. I'll also explain a little history of Burgundy about what life was really like living in the castles(châteaux) in medieval times. Are you ready?
Wear comfy walking shoes, bring a bag or backpack for goodies, and don’t forget your camera!
