The Orioles baseball team, more affectionately known as the Birds or the O’s to locals, is named for the black and orange state bird of Maryland. Baltimore’s most famous player is George Herman “Babe” Ruth, who was recruited in 1914 at the age of 19. His boyhood home at 216 Emory Street near Camden Yards is now the Babe Ruth Birthplace Museum and features memorabilia from his childhood and career.

Fort McHenry is a historical American coastal pentagonal bastion fort on Locust Point, now a neighborhood of Baltimore, Maryland. It is best known for its role in the War of 1812, when it successfully defended Baltimore Harbor from an attack by the British navy from the Chesapeake Bay on September 13–14, 1814. It was first built in 1798 and was used continuously by the U.S. armed forces through World War I and by the Coast Guard in World War II. It was designated a national park in 1925, and in 1939 was redesignated a "National Monument and Historic Shrine". During the War of 1812 an American storm flag, 17 by 25 feet, was flown over Fort McHenry during the bombardment. It was replaced early on the morning of September 14, 1814, with a larger American garrison flag, 30 by 42 feet. The larger flag signaled American victory over the British in the Battle of Baltimore. The sight of the ensign inspired Francis Scott Key to write the poem "Defence of Fort M'Henry" that was later set to the tune "To Anacreon in Heaven" and became known as "The Star-Spangled Banner", the national anthem of the United States.

William Thompson Walters, (1819–1894), who began serious collecting when he moved to Paris as a nominal Southern/Confederate sympathizer at the outbreak of the American Civil War in 1861; and Henry Walters (1848–1931), who refined the collection and made arrangements for the construction of a later landmark building to rehouse it. I love this park. There are miles of a paved walking path as well as a road that is good for cycling. There are playgrounds and pavilions that are great for familes and groups. Kayak and paddleboard rentals are available in summer and there's an ice rink in the winter. There's even three dog parks! Located just one mile from the house, you could walk there, but you have to cross a very road to do so. There is an entrance fee per car.

In my opinion, this is the best park in this area. A day pass cost $6. It has a wide range of things to do within a beautiful setting between Harness Creek and South River. There are extensive hiking trails, and six mile of paves trails for bicycles, running, walking, many which lead to break taking scenic overlooks. There is a dog park, a playground for the children, pavilions with near by grills, and a place to go canoeing and kayaking. The popular Cross Street Market.. This is a food hall with every type of cuisine you can think of all in one place. Some of my favorite places to eat from here is the Chicken Lab and Jollof Bowl. Chicken Lab is Korean-style Fried chicken. I enjoy the chicken bowl with Japchae. I highly reccomend checking out doordash for pickup to save on a few coins. Jollof bowl is the newest addition to the market. This is a "make your own bowl" style restaurant but West African style. This is a must try! They have vegan options too.

The park’s one mile sandy beach provides plenty of room for enjoying a variety of beach activities. The south beach potion is designated for swimming and protected with lifeguards from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays, weekends and holidays, Memorial Day to Labor Day. During the late summer months there may be jellyfish. A bathhouse is located near the beach and provides park users with restrooms and showering facilities. 5.2 acre waterfront park offers a sandy beach with a volleyball court, *bathhouse, Mary Roe Walkup Picnic Pavilion, stone fishing jetty, and transient boat launching ramp (please call the County Public Landings office for more boat ramp details). Lifeguards are not on duty, SWIM AT YOUR OWN RISK. Dogs are not permitted on the beach. Concessions are available for purchase most days during the summer months. A picnic pavilion overlooking the beach at the mouth of the Sassafras River includes approximately eight picnic tables and a charcoal grill. Grilling is only permitted in the pavilion area, not on the beach. There is a *bathhouse with restrooms down the hill from the pavilion next to the beach. Your home neighborhood! Cross Street Market is at the heart and less than two blocks away. Charming historic rowhomes and very walkable. Climb up Federal Hill Park for amazing views of the city. From there, you can plan a walking route along the waterfront. Be sure to pass by the American Visionary Art Museum on your way down to the harbor. We know almost all the restaurants in the neighborhood if you ever need a recommendation. Safety: Minor theft is the most common crime in the neighborhood, especially cell phones. If you're talking on your phone while you walk, considering wearing headphones and keeping your phone in your pocket, or go in a cafe if you need to look at your phone for an extended period of time. We often walk at night (most people in the neighborhood get around primarily walking), but it's always a good idea to stay alert.

Patterson Park is an historic park established in 1827 and named for William Patterson (1752-1835). It is bordered by East Baltimore Street, Eastern Avenue, South Patterson Park Avenue, and South Linwood Avenue. The park has four main entrances at each corner. Its notable attractions include the boat lake (where fishing is permitted), the marble fountain, the Pulaski Monument, and The Patterson Park Pagoda. Originally the Patterson Park Observatory, the Pagoda was built in 1891 as an observation tower for viewing the city and is still open to visitors today.

Ego Alley is a narrow waterway in downtown Annapolis where boaters cruise in and out to see and be seen—hence the name. Lined with waterfront restaurants, shops, and public benches, it’s a perfect spot to watch sailboats, yachts, and the occasional parade of midshipmen. Located at the heart of City Dock, it's a lively gathering place that captures the charm and nautical spirit of Annapolis.

Simply relaxing at City Dock is a major reason why people visit Annapolis. Take in the sunshine while sitting outside at one of several dining establishments that allow you watch the boats cruise in and out of Ego Alley. City Dock also plays host to a handful of Annapolis’ biggest events. Head to City Dock in April and catch the Annapolis Spring Sailboat Show – the largest in-water boat show in the world; be dazzled by massive pyrotechnic displays on New Year’s Eve or the Fourth of July; or pull up a chair and catch the St. Patrick's Day Parade in March or the Military Bowl Parade in December. It's also the launching point for most of Annapolis' water tours.

Mosey down Main Street from Church Circle to City Dock and you'll discover dozens of unique, locally-owned fashion boutiques and specialty gift shops tucked in between art galleries, pubs, restaurants and historic inns. Many of these small shop owners import their hand-crafted goods from far-off lands, just as town merchants have been doing for the past 350 years.

This is such a walkable downtown. Stash the car in one of the many garages and enjoy strolling the brick streets. Main Street is only one of the options. Don't miss the funky shops of Maryland Avenue and the arts' district of inner West Street. Dinner under the Stars on Wednesdays is fun. Check with Historic Annapolis for homes and buildings that are open for visitors. There's a water taxi for a trip across the Creek from the Harbor/Susan Campbell Park to charming Eastport with its neighborhood pubs and vernacular architecture.

Beautiful spot for water views! It gets crowded during the height of summer tourism season. We don't recommend eating here - most of the restaurants are overpriced chains. If you do find yourself hungry while at the harbor, go for one of the classic seafood restaurants like Phillips or Rusty Scupper. Worth a visit: the USS Constellation (you can get a multipass to see all the ships if you're into nautical history), National Aquarium, and Science Center). Safety: Good, security is well-monitored, though it's a tourist hotspot so always be alert (e.g., don't leave bags unattended or walk around on your cell phone without paying attention to surroundings).
