From 593 Culberson St SW (West End): • Drive/Uber (10–12 mins): Approximately 2.5 miles via Northside Drive. This is a very quick trip that bypasses much of the downtown highway traffic. • MARTA (10 mins): This is the most efficient way to travel from the West End. Take the Northbound train from West End Station to Five Points, then a quick one-stop transfer to the Westbound line to the GWCC/CNN Center Station. The stadium is a short walk from the station exit. 🍴 Pro-Tips for Your Visit: • Cashless Venue: A Reminder for you that the stadium is completely cashless; all concessions and souvenir shops require a credit card or mobile payment. • Clear Bag Policy: To ensure a smooth entry, guests should follow the NFL’s clear bag policy. The main campus of the Georgia Institute of Technology occupies part of Midtown Atlanta, primarily bordered by 10th Street to the north, North Avenue to the south, and, with the exception of Tech Square, the Downtown Connector to the East, placing it well in sight of the Atlanta skyline. In 1996, the campus was the site of the athletes' village and a venue for a number of athletic events for the 1996 Summer Olympics. The construction of the Olympic Village, along with subsequent gentrification of the surrounding areas, significantly changed the campus. The Georgia Tech campus is located in Midtown, an area north of downtown Atlanta. Although a number of skyscrapers (most visibly AT&T Midtown Center, One Coca-Cola Plaza, and Bank of America Plaza) are visible from all points on campus, the campus itself has few buildings over four stories and has a great deal of greenery. This gives it a distinctly suburban atmosphere quite different from other Atlanta campuses such as that of Georgia State University.

You could get lost inside The Varsity, a 90-year-old restaurant and drive-in covering 5 acres in downtown Atlanta. What began as a hangout for Georgia Tech students is now a legendary burger joint billed as the World's Largest Drive-In. The Varsity was founded in 1928 by Frank Gordy, a Georgia Tech dropout who had operated his own hot dog stand since 1926. With profits from his popular stand, called the Yellow Jacket after the Tech mascot, Gordy was able to build the first, much smaller version of The Varsity. On his first day in business, he made $47.30, according to "The Varsity" by Janice McDonald, which was not a bad haul considering hot dogs cost 5 cents. The Varsity is known for the iconic phrase its servers use to prompt each customer: "What'll ya have? What'll ya have?" These days, there are seven other locations of the restaurant – seven in Atlanta and one in Athens, Ga. – but the downtown restaurant is the most popular. The two-story restaurant seats 800, while the parking lot and drive-in stalls (5 total acres) hold 600 cars.

Piedmont Park is an urban park in Atlanta, Georgia, located about 1 mile (1.6 km) northeast of Downtown, between the Midtown and Virginia Highland neighborhoods. Originally the land was owned by Dr. Benjamin Walker, who used it as his out-of-town gentleman's farm and residence. He sold the land in 1887 to the Gentlemen's Driving Club (later renamed the Piedmont Driving Club), who wanted to establish an exclusive club and racing ground for horse enthusiasts. The Driving Club entered an agreement with the Piedmont Exposition Company, headed by prominent Atlantan Charles A. Collier, to use the land for fairs and expositions and later gave the park its name. The park was originally designed by Joseph Forsyth Johnson to host the first of two major expositions held in the park in the late 19th century. The Piedmont Exposition opened in October 1887 to great fanfare. The event was a success and set the stage for the Cotton States and International Exposition which was held in the park seven years later in 1895. Both exhibitions showcased the prosperity of the region that had occurred during and after the Reconstruction period. In the early 20th century, a redesign plan called the Olmsted plan, was begun by the sons of New York Central Park architect, Frederick Law Olmsted. The effort led to the addition of scenic paths in the park and the joining of the park with the Ansley park system. Over the years, the park has also served as an athletic center for the city. Atlanta's first professional baseball team, the Atlanta Crackers, played in the park from 1902 to 1904. Several important intercollegiate rivalries were also forged in the park including the University of Georgia vs. Georgia Tech baseball rivalry and Georgia versus Auburn football which has been called the "Deep South's Oldest Rivalry". Throughout the 20th century, many improvements have been made in the park, including the addition of covered picnic areas, tennis facilities, the Lake Clara Meer dock and visitors center, and two playgrounds. In 2008, a ground-breaking ceremony was held for a 53-acre (210,000 m2) extension to the park. On April 12, 2011, Mayor Kasim Reed cut the ribbon to open the first phase of a major expansion into the northern third of the park. Additional areas at the far north of the park (near Ansley Mall) are to be developed next.
