We had such a great time at Leafe and Katherine's cabin and we hope to return. The place is bright, airy, and charming--and its surroundings were just what we hoped for and imagined when we were thinking about getting away to the desert. The sunrises were beautiful to watch from the front patio. Other houses are in view from the patio, but we never saw or heard our neighbors--occasionally we'd hear a dog bark or a chicken cluck, but those were pretty much the only signs that any of the places were occupied. It was clear that there were more wild occupants in the area than domestic. When we arrived we heard coyote calls off in the distance; walking in the area around the cabin a few jack rabbits crossed our path, and at dusk quails scurried around everywhere. Inside the cabin it was very clean. We didn't bring our dog this time around, but as a dog owner I am still baffled that we didn't see one dog hair on the couch, bed, or anywhere in the cabin the entire time we were there, even though they allow dogs. The amenities were great. They have a very quiet and efficient heater/ac--we used both settings during the course of the week and both worked great. The hot tub was awesome. The murphy bed was really comfortable--we slept better at the cabin than we do at home. We cooked a few dinners using the hot plate (they also have an electric camping stove with 2 burners) and toaster oven and we never felt like anything was missing (but if you don't want to cook, there's also a really great pizza place relatively close by). Finally, from the time we booked the cabin, all the way through our stay, Leafe was friendly, helpful and easy to reach, but she also was completely respectful of our space. We've already recommended this place to friends and we hope to return whenever we can.
