This was the perfect home-away-from-home for my 3 daughters and me on our January girls' trip to NYC. We loved being in a neighborhood instead of a hotel. The beds were comfy, apartment clean and well equipped, and the neighbors quiet. We have just finished up a great week at Doug and Claudia's apartment on the Upper East Side. Prior to our stay the communication and information that Doug provided was outstanding. The apartment suited us perfectly, good value and in a great location. Very close to the nearest metro station. The area felt very safe coming back at night and the bed was incredibly comfortable. Overall a great experience, would stay there again.

We spent a great stay at this appartment even if it was a little bit small for four (but as you don't spend all the day in it, it is more than enough!). This appartment is really cosy and comfortable. I haven't meet the host but by e-mail Douglas was always answering in a short time at all kind of question. It is well situated and not really far from a metro station. If I have to come back to New-York I will book again for this appartment without any hesitation.

We had a very enjoyable stay at the apartment. It was in a great location for the subway to the major tourist spots, and everything was clean and in good condition, plus there were useful things like dried pasta and tea in the cupboards. We didn't meet the hosts, but Doug was very communicative and helpful.

We had a wonderful time at the apartment! When we arrived Doug was expecting us in the apartment, and we didn't have any problems while we stayed there! Really good place, and the location is great! As returning visitors to NYC we wanted a place on the Upper East Side, close to the Park, but also with easy access to the subway for trips downtown. The communication with Doug was perfect. He answered all my questions immediately and helped me a lot with early check in and late check out. The appartment very nice and was perfect for a couple (for more than a couple, I think it will be a little bit crowded). It equipped with all the needed kitchen belongings, clean towels and linens, Wi-fi, and even DVD with couple of Newyorks movies! Doug and Clauda's apartment is a lovely furnished apartment in a great location, easily accessable by subway (5 minutes walk) and a short walk to Central Park. Doug was great with preparing everything for my arrival and left loads of useful information for guests, I felt that if I needed anything I could contact him for assistance. Super great location for what we needed (Royal Shakespeare Co. @ the Park Ave. Armory). Lots of confusion upon arrival - called Doug & he said to meet him @ the apt. When we did, he was not there. What a location. Just metres from Madison Avenue. The apartment is very well appointed with everything you will need. Studio apt was all we expected. Comfortably slept 3 because of good soft sleeper. Stairs are a bit steep for older folks but location made up for it. Never a problem to get a cab and easy walking to all museums. Neighborhood offered numerous restaurants. Busy, vibrant street in front but no problem with street noise because apt at back of building. We would definitely stay again. Doug was very responsive to emails and very accommodating.

The whole experience was nice. Staying at Doug and Claudia's place was a pleasure, it felt like a home away from home. The room size is big enough so you don't feel claustrophobic, although the kitchen is tiny, but I had no intensions of cooking whilst I was there, only making tea, coffee and reheating takeout food, so that was ok. Doug & Claudia's apartment was fantastic, very clean and a great location. Close to 2 metro stations and within a 10-15 minute walk to many of NYC's main attractions. Wonderful experience. My husband and I stayed at their apt in the upper east side of Manhattan. We met Doug and he was extremely accommodating and prompt with his replies. We were lucky to have found him on such short notice when our original plans failed. The apartment is true to photos. It's simple but has everything you need. We love, love, love the area. Much to eat on the cheap, and only 2 blocks away from the 4,5,6 subway line. It's so convenient. Highly recommend!

Our days in the city were extremely busy and knowing that at the end of the day we would go "home" to a clean, comfortable and perfectly located apartment was a bonus to our awesome trip. He had suggestions of places to eat in the neighborhood. The location of the apartment let them walk to many things including Central park.

The apartment was as advertised. The place was clean. The wi-fi was great. Quiet as it doesn't face the street, so no problem sleeping. The suggestions for places to eat in the area were right on. Only little thing we didn't expect was there were no wash cloths provided (that we could find, anyway). Other than that, everything was great and would stay here again without hesitation.

The location cannot be beat: 2 blocks to the subway, walk to the met, great markets, everything you need is handy and GOOD. The apartment is small but very comfortable for two. Doug mailed us the house keys ahead of time which was extremely helpful to us as we arrived around 3am due to a flight delay. We (a family with two teenagers) booked this nice apartement for 9 days. It was really well located near the museums mile and the central park (even good for jogging around the Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis Reservoir). Subways downtown and uptown and metro bus to Upper West Side are nearby. All in all we had a great time in NY and we highly recommend Doug and Claudia's apartment.

Greetings to NYC travelers: Should you consider to stay at Doug and Claudia's place on the upper east side, you will be happy with your decision. The location is excellent and very secure. The apartment is well decorated and comfortable. Doug and Claudia are thoughtful hosts, providing everything for an enjoyable stay. My 2 teenage daughters and I spent 3 days at the apartment. Doug was very professional and made it easy to check in/check out and was able to accommodate a late check out. Location is superb (3 blocks away from an express subway stop, lots of restaurants/bars in the area), and the place was extremely well-appointed, clean, and comfortable. Surprisingly luxurious for the price, the apartment is perfect for visitors who like to live close to Central Park and museums like MoMA, Whitney or Guggenheim. The experience was excellent. The apt is located on one of the best areas in Manhattan, quiet, safe & nice. Bus and subway very near, also delis and supermarkets. The apt was in perfect conditions, all new or like new. Fridge, grill owen, LCD TV with cable, nice bed, WIFI, good bathroom with real hot water. Doug was a very good host, he also help me to carry the bags to the subway!! If you´re going to NY, this is sure one of the best locations at this price (and highers)
