Staying in the Circle Treehouse was like having my own tranquil housing in L.A. It was perfect for me because it's only minutes away from LAX and close to Venice Beach as well. I would highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a peaceful place off the beaten path.
September 2011My sister and I had a great one night stay at "The Circle". The atmosphere was a little bit like in a hostel as we shared the kitchen and the bathroom with other guests of the Circle. The rooms they rent are really cool and we felt very welcomed.
I love staying at The Circle and this was my second time back. Sanni was a sweetie as always and I felt very relaxed and laid back. Highly recommended.
I had an amazing three night stay in the treehouse. The bed was very comfortable and I found the temperature throughout the night to be particularly pleasant - I slept really well. The suurrounding area is groovy and tranquil and it allows for quality chill out time. Most importantly, my hosts (Breven and James) were absolutely delightful people. Always pleased to see you, interested in sharing travel/life stories and happy to have me join them for dinner. Thanks so much to... More »
Staying at the Circle was delightful. The bed was clean and comfortable and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. There is a lovely garden space that I took full advantage of--hanging out and sunbathing for hours. There are 2 bathroom shared by 3 guest spaces--the lack of a private bath was well worth the lower cost of the space.
It was such a Great experience, definitely one for the books!
As this was my first time using AirBnb, I was unsure what to expect, and I will say it was an awesome experience. Host was amazing, and even cooked some meals for me!!!! I would without a doubt recommend this to anyone else. Such a cool spot too.
I'm a cheap-ass. Fifty dollars to stay at "The Circle," known in the "LA artist community as one of the most relaxing hangout spots on the west side," looked ideal. After I ponied up the credit card and received the confirmation tagged "feel embraced," my crunchy, circa '70s inner child was delighted. It was in a subsequent email, however, that I learned that Sanni, my host, would be out of town but "Kevin, Debbi and Micah" would be there. In B-movies, this is where the orchestra-spike... More »
I was at the CIRCLE a week ago and I came back. I love it. All places are the exact opposite of the ordinary. Just great! Debbie and Kevin are nice, warm and helpful hosts. Thank you!
Awesome, chilled stay with some really friendly hosts.
Never seen so a charming, inspiring and nice place before at my trip at the westcoast. Kevin is a really great host and helped me to find all places where I wanted to go at LA, also Debbie. Thanks a lot! I had a really wonderful stay, therefore I decided to stay some days more and booked the *Cave* now.
Totally unique, creative, and comfortable place. Host Kevin -- the owners were away -- was warm and gracious. I stayed only one very brief night, but will stay again when I'm in LA.
forgot about the review.. saw just now while checking my profile over here. It's never late :) Just one word: AWESOME.
Not good! ONLY FOR SERIOUS FREESTYLE HIPPIES! If you like the sweet smoky smell of 'grass' mixed with incense - it's the place for you!
I was looking for a hostel-like experience relatively close to the beach and a relaxing atmosphere where I could decompress. That is exactly what I got at the Circle. The room/cave is surprisingly cool and relaxing with plenty of light and the bed is very comfortable. I will say that the wireless reception isn't that good in the cave, but since there were plenty of comfortable spots in the garden to sit that had better reception, this was not a problem for me. The caretakers are great! ... More »
We stayed 3 nights at the Circle and it was really nice and quiet. Sleeping in the tree house is an experience!! The Circle is well located to visit Venice and Santa Monica even for those who don't have a car, which was our case! Debbi and Kevin, who hosted us, were very kind...
The best place to stay with excellent people, Peter is right about The Circle. I recommend it to everybody, I stayed at the cave and it was an amazing experience. The hosts are very nice people and always try to help. I will stay again at the Circle.
The Circle is such a peaceful, zen place to stay. Just cool! The grounds are stunning. The two people watching the home and taking care of it for the owners were very gracious and helpful. What a great experience!
One of the best places I have ever been! Nobody does the circle like the circle ;-)
Had a very relaxing time and great night's sleep in the floating bed--overall great experience.
The place was interesting and Micah and Kevin were very friendly, but there were sugars ants all in my bed. A bit of a nuisance.
We had the opportunity to stay on the main house room and the floating bed room. This place is just surreal and fantastic.
We found an empty house while staying at the circle, which was quite surprising. The room was also quite different from the picture.. so it is a global disappointment from what we expected.
It is a fantastic place full of positive energy. We stayed only one night here, but would stayed more if not our travel schedule. The bed is large and you just need to experience it! We didn't meet the hosts, but everything was prepared and clean. Bolek & Camilla
Great location, very quiet and low key - which allowed me to be busy with both work and getting in the ocean. Lovely people - though didn't see folks much by my choice, needing a retreat in sunny LA.
Although we didn't get a chance to meet Sanni, we were well taken care of by Brevin. Our room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. The "outdoor" shower was among the many unique features of the property, which also housed a tree house and a cave. The location was very convenient to downtown, especially with a car. We were also able to park for free on a nearby street. Overall, our experience at the Circle was a very positive one.
Great experience in this crazy house. Small but comfortable, the hosts were very nice and you are very well located near the Marina where you can go shopping by foot. I recommand this place !

I stayed in the main house and it was fantastic. I have several friends to stay with in LA, but none I could stay with. The house offered a less solitary environment than a hotel, but a much much more comfortable and homelike atmosphere than a hostel. Sanni and her family were abroad when I stayed, but Breven, who the family has managing the property was fantastic. The house is very clean, and serene and safe. If I'm not staying with friends I will definitely be staying at the Circle... More »
Great experience in this place. I never slept before on a floating bed and it's soooooo nice that I even thought about huying one myself. The hosts were very nice and you are very well located near the Marina where you can go shopping by foot. I recommand this place and I want to go back !
Our stay at the Circle house was wonderful. Sanni was out of the country, but Breven was an excellent host. We felt more than welcomed and would love to stay again.
Perfect for the one night we stayed. The cave was like camping. My daughter and I admired the stone wall in the private outdoor shower and being able to look up into the night sky through the celing was so beautiful and the water was nice and hot. Ate at California Pizza Kitchen nearby and the ice cream yogurt place Pinkberry it was so good! Did not get to meet Sanni as they were away but Brevin was very sweet to us and it was a very laid back and hippy. Would only reccomend the cave for... More »
The Circle was an awesome place and very relaxing. Everyone was very chill. I would strongly recommend this to anyone needing a place to stay for a night, or many nights. Definitely an experience that won't be soon forgotten.
We stayed in the treehouse for three nights. It was a very cool experience. The host was very nice and helpful. Great location close to Venice beach.
coolest place ever with a great group of people! chilled atmosphere and easy to get around. Would never stay anywhere else now. My favourite part of LA!!
I had fun, the other guests were great, the location is convenient. It kind of feels like living with Tank Girl and her Kangaroo friends, the pictures and video are much less crowded than the reality of the place which is nevertheless awesome.
The place is really nice, my room was very comfortable, I really had a great time here. When I arrived there was a party organized by Airbnb it was so cool.
I had had a great timed at the Circle, what a wonderful place to stay so special and easy , it felt like a retread . I will go back the next time I go back to LA and I have been telling all of my friends about it. MAGICAL!
Relaxing, easy, soothing and quiet! With work deadlines to complete, this was a perfect and needed combo. I do hope to enjoy and stay again. Perfect location too, walking to plenty of great spots... But in a neighborhood so it was quiet. Thank you so much!
We had a great stay at sanny's place..we stayed at the main room and the host told us that we can use the inside bathroom which was very convenient for us ...the room was comfortable ,cozy and quiet ...my bf and I would stay there again .. oh and the location is very close to santa monica and Venice beach which is what we were looking for.. ;))
We had a super quiet and relaxing time in The Circle Treehouse but it's definitely a place to stay for a certain sort of person. My girlfriend and I are pretty laid back and adaptable so we were able to deal with the heat and rustic-ness of the treehouse pretty easily. But it's definitely an un-insulated treehouse. Totally worth the money but definitely be ready for a treehouse experience. (Also: bring an extra pillow!)
Cosy, comfortable, clean with friendly managers. Enjoyed my stay
The place was amazing! I was so comfortable and relaxed. Best sleep ever. It was a lot like sleeping outside (which I love) I woke with the sunrise, hula hooped on top of the circle, and read at night (bought a book from the Barnes and Noble up the street. Wish I could have chatted with the owner more or stayed longer. I will definitely stay again!
unser aufenthalt in l.a. bei sannie bzw. 5 Sterne!
It was such a pleasurable experience that I plan on coming back next time I'm in LA.
I had a very nice overnight stay at Sanni's home. It was my 1st night in California on my visit from the east coast. The accomodation was unique and adventurous. I felt inimpeded and free about my coming and going and had an opportunity to spend some time meeting one of the other guests who had been staying at the home. Overall it was a great place to land and take off from on my California excursion.
My son was stranded at LAX and I emailed Sanni who instantly responded with an offer and saved the day. Generous to a T and even let me know he had arrived safely and lent my son a bike to go exploring with; they totally took care of him. Couldn't ask for a better experience!
The Cave was a fantastic experience that everyone should experience at several points in their lives. I was quite comfortable throughout my stay and loved it. The hosts were quite open and warm towards me, and I plan on staying here next time I'm in LA
Made my LA experience- and I loved it! :)
We've got a bad surprise when arriving to the house. The room was not ready due to a concert organised the evening before our arrival. However, the hoste is very kind. She's very willing to help us in need. We've made a 2-nights reservation, and we had to cancel 1 night, she accepted to repay us without complaining.
Great place. Great stay. Great vibe and extremely friendly host. Loved it.
I didn't get to meet Sanni this time since she was away. But the place is definitely "cool". Who doesn't like a place that has a treehouse and a cave?!
Sweet place to lay my head and hang out. The tree house was a fun and different experience. If you get a chance try it!
Me and my boyfriend stayed in the Circle for 2 nights after taking a road trip from San Francisco to LA. The bedroom was really comfortable. The place has huge backyard with other 'rooms' to sleep. It is an amazingly tranquil and relaxing space. The hosts were very helpful and friendly. They basically planned out our whole LA sightseeing for us! We had great time overall.
I enjoyed my stay at the tree house. Thanks !
I had a great time staying at the CIRCLE. Though I booked the main house, I decided to stay in the treehouse because it is just so different. The tree house is small but VERY cool. One can open almost all of the walls and it's just like sleeping outside but with a roof over your head :) All of the rooms have access to the mainhouse kitchen and facilities. It was a great experience!
A quirky, but fun place to stay!
If you are allergic to fun, good people, great conversation and sunshine, do not stay here! James was amazing as well as the other guests. We frequently banded together against hunger and whipped something up in the kitchen together, to be enjoyed in the sunshine or by the fire at night. We also continued the tradition with the newly bimonthly movie screening. All in all a fabulous trip, I already have plans to go back twice more!
Not only was the cave nice and cozy great, but the laid back folk working/living in the circle community are all so welcoming and kind. If I come back to LA, I will definitely be staying here again!
Our meeting with Aaron was fabulous. I enjoyed sitting by the pool, watching the koi and making some life changing decisions.
Wonderful space. Floating bed is very comfortable. The whole place is very quiet, peaceful and relaxing. I will certainly be back. Sanni's family was away on vacation, so sadly I didn't get to meet them. But I enjoyed spending some time speaking with James who was very friendly. A tip: if you choose to use the heater, you'll also need to turn on the fan to circulate the warm air -- took me a little while to figure this out.
I stayed at the circle treehouse and it was great! Unique, off-beat yes but quiet, nice, friendly, and cool also yes! Breven was managing things for Sanni and Breven was great! We corresponded via text message once I booked the the place on airbnb and Breven was extremely accommodating Turns out I spent most of the night awake at the international LAX terminal with a friend who missed her original flight but that's another story! But I did take a nap and shower at the treehouse! ... More »
Arriving at the beauiful place fresh off the plane from NYC was such a wonderful feeling. I was warmly welcomed in and shown to the tree house. SO AMAZING! The bed in the tree house was comfortable and they had clean sheets with cosy comforters. The beautiful hosts generously enjoyed midnight tea, PB & J, and homemade miso soup with me. The entire place has such a phenominal vibe to it.
We had a great time staying here. The hosts were super friendly and fun to chat with. Would love to come visit again!
Great people, very compact space, open air walk to the bathroom. Try it, you might like it.
I was in LA working on a documentary, Most of the days were really long, and the Circle was a pleasure to call home and decompress. Breven and James, the hosts, were perfectly sweet, and the rest of the guest really rounded out the experience. I highly recommend the cave, and I hope to visit again soon.
The floating circle bed was so cool! The whole circle treehouse is such an amazing place. So different from any place I have ever stayed. AWESOME! If I visit Venice area again I would stay here again.
Thank you so much! It was a wonderful experience to stay at the Cave in the Circle. I would go back and I would like to take my kids so that they ca appreciate the beauty of the place and the peacful atmosphere. Double thank you to the wonderful Host!!!
A wonderful experience at the Circle Treehouse! A real sense of hospitality, a very good location with an accommodation full of character. This is really where bnb can make a difference!
The treehouse was an absolutely magical place to stay! The garden out back was delightful. It was a great home base from which to explore LA from. The location is Marina Del Ray, not far from the freeways and Venice Beach. Gorgeous gorgeous place. I would definitely recommend and stay in this place once again.
The Tree House is a fun place to go if you like "rustic with character" accomodation : I enjoyed being able to look at the stars and the full moon from my bed on the first night (unfortunately, the rest of the time it rained, which was quite unusual). Then, it was great to have someone so interesting to chat to; that is what makes the airbnb experience so much more interesting than staying at a hotel.
My son and I had a great time. He wants to go back. Thank you so much. Clare
The stay was great and Sanni was a wonderful host! The location was easy to get to through public transport and the the bicycle rental was great to check out Venice beach! The lodging was outstanding and comfortable. I hope Sanni has this available next time I visit LA.
There for four nights.. was a bit cold because it was march but there was a space heater available for use. Sanni, her family and dog were all very nice. It is pretty much similar to staying in a log cabin but a little better sealed and insulated.. do not stay if you mind being around spiders (non nonpoisonous of course) She even let me stay in the tree house on the days she didn't have guests there. Would defiantly stay there again.
Sanni was very nice and the space was fun. I liked sitting outside near the koi pond in the afternoon. Very convenient location to LAX and the Marina.
I only had a super short stay (which wasn't intended. Sanni and her husband were very caring and flexible. The cave is really something special. You have to be prepared for less headroom than usual.
Sanni's Treehouse is one of the most fantastic ways I can imagine to stay in the area. I can't recommend it enough!
Sanni and her family are very warm people. Though I arrived very late, her husband and lovely dog welcomed me. One thing I was disappointed was the heater. Because of the electricity problem, I could not turn on the heater during the night. But it is not a big deal. This place has super unique values which other hotels will never have! Hope to see you again, Sanni!
I had an amazing stay in The Circle Treehouse. It's quiet, peaceful and holistic. The 'treehouse' is very cosy and obviously quirky and if you are looking for an alternative location in LA this is definitely the place to stay. It's within (long) walking distance to the magnificent Venice beach and there are lots of local amenities. On-site facilities such as shower/bathroom are superb. Sanni and Manni are wonderful hosts and will make you feel very welcome - I stayed almost a week... More »
While searching for lodging in Los Angeles I was intrigued by the captions for Sanni's places. How often does one get to sleep in a "tree house" or a "cave?...Maybe I should add: near the beach in Los Angeles. I inquired about the room the same day and Sanni replied right away. Luckilly the tree house was available. When I arrived, Sanni greeted me with a warm smile and within minutes had showed me the room and made me feel at home. I enjoyed the experience and the vibe and... More »
I had a wonderful stay at the Circle Sanni and her family are lovely people. The tree house was available and no one else was staying there so Sanni let me stay there for my 3 night stay, which was really funky. They let me use a bike for the day which was awesome so i got to make my way down to Venice Beach and Santa Monica for the Day. Would difficulty stay here again and hope to make it to Germany to stay at their other property
Awesome place. great location. Nice people. I love the concept here. Very original
First airbnb experience: Wonderful hosts and abundant solitude! Of course, I didn't keep the quiet with my serial conference calls. A great night's sleep, short distance from LAX and 3 minutes to SBUCs. Thank you Sanni!
Although CLEAN, SAFE, and FUN give you an idea of what to expect, these words only begin to describe the experience. FANTASTIC! Really nice people, really nice place to stay, and a really nice location! Sanni and Manni are great hosts who really care about their guests. They are creative, fun loving Europeans who know how to enjoy life - and this is reflected in the inspiring rooms they have waiting for you! I found and booked this bnb for my friend visiting from Canada. I think he liked it very much and I thought it was really cool, though I didn't stay there. I can't really rate it because I didn't stay there.
Sanni and her family are lovely people. They have created a peaceful and thought provoking space in the middle of urban America. I hope to visit their place in Germany! Grazie mille.
Lovely Experience! Very unique living space and i am glad to have met Sanni and her family! Thank you for housing me!
Sanni's house was gorgeous! She was quick to reply, and was very accommodating.
Sanni's home was absolutely lovely. The floating bed was really cool, and it was a treat to get to stay in her studio. She has some wonderful things that she has created. The room was as advertised, bathroom outside and shared, but I can't say that I wasn't expecting it. Sanni was warm and welcoming, we wish we could have spent more time with her.
Sanni and her family are absolutely lovely people and were very warm and helpful. I'm sure much of my negative experience was due to the weather which was very cold and very wet the entire time I was there, which is unusual for LA and they are not equipped well for rain. The space was very cold so I couldn't stay there for anything but sleeping. I found it difficult to sleep in a bed that moves as every time I turned over, I woke myself up with a swinging bed. There were manikins all over... More »
Fantastic, loving and relaxing environment in the mist of LA. A real gem. I appreciated being in such an inspirational place, with a wonderful family. Highly recommended:)
Clean and comfortable lodging, super cute surroundings, and extraordinarily lovely hosts!
what can I say? I had such a lovely time staying with Sanni and her family. I stayed in the treehouse which is a really quirky (in a good way) space. Sanni was so easy going and friendly as was her cool puppy Lucy although Lucy, hilariously, seemed completely surprised to see me everytime we met. All in all an oasis of calm in the madness that is LA. Highly recommended.
Sanni and her family are excellent hosts and the accomodations are comfortable, clean, and peaceful, like a retreat. My son and I enjoyed out stay there very much, and we would gladly return and recommend this magical place to others.
Staying here in Novermber 2010 I found that Sanni & Manni were the most caring hosts. Manni gave me a ride to the bus stop on my way out from LA & Sanni took care of my washing hanging to dry! They have bicycles to rent that didn't cost a bomb. Take one to Venice Beach, Santa Monica, Redondo, all the way to Beverly Hills. You can put your bike on the front of a bus in LA, just awesome! The best stay during my trip across the USA by far, primarily due to the location of the tree house to and... More »
I enjoyed my stay in the "tree house" at The Circle. It was a pleasure to meet Sanni and her family. The accomidations are simple, but fine. I had fresh linen and towels. My partner and I stayed with Sanni and her family for 2 nights and had a great time. Sanni's place is very peaceful, quiet and relaxing after a long flight. The location was very convenient for us hanging out in Venice Beach and Santa Monica. Easy to park too. Sanni was great. The "treehouse" was funky cool, I slept well. I utilized the bicycle she offered to ride to Santa Monica and back. Great location. Will stay again if in the LA area.
The Circle is a really special place, an anachronistic artistic haven you'd expect to find in more far-flung regions of CA like Joshua Tree or other desert lands. Sanni and her husband were more than hospitable and friendly, and their precious dog Lucy greeted me every morning with kisses and cuddles. I booked the cave but Sanni let me stay in the treehouse since it wasn't occupied - in fact I was the only guest there (besides someone in the Greyhound bus), so I had the entire garden to... More »
What a wonderful experience! Sanni and her family made me feel totally at home at their place. Just a few blocks from the beach - they lent me one of their bikes for the day which made exploring really easy. I had a wonderful nights sleep in the tree house or "the mothership" as George Clinton called it. A truly magical experience - thank you once again
Amazing stay. The floating bed is VERY comfortable after you master the hammock-like motions. We slept so well, as if we were on a cloud. The entire house is beautiful - full of artistic creations, the house is art, and it has great energy. Thanks for the great stay! We will be back :)
Great hostess, thanks for your hospitality!
Sanni and Family were a joy to stay with. I think our short time with them set the tone for a pleasant and memorable trip. We look forward to the possibility of staying again.
I enjoyed staying at Sanni's house, it's certainly different than any other place I've ever stayed at. I slep like a baby in the floating bed, although for a 220 pound individual with bad knees and hips it's somewhat challenging to get out of the bed, epspecially in the middle of the night when nature calls. All in all, I would stay here again.
yes: easy 1,2,3. i really loved the place. i am lucky i could extend my stay. soory we couldn't meet this timte., but hope for next time.
Sadly i didn't get to meet Sanni but she was really prompt with emails and was very accommodating. i absolutely loved the floating bed and have decided to buy one. its so nice being rocked to sleep everynight :) i hope we cross paths in the future.
Great experience. Since the tree house was unoccupied, I stayed there. It was peaceful, quiet, and I slept very well. It's a single room with a bed that takes up most of the space, and a table wit ha small tv/vcr. The bathroom is across the courtyard, but that was no problem. Overall a very positive experience. Sanni is a good emailer and everything went very well.
Nice place as advertised. Relatively close to the beach. I didn't get to meet Sanni, but the caretaker, Ali, is a really nice and wonderful guy. Really friendly and helpful. If you're looking for a space to relax and unwind and aren't looking for a typical hotel experience, I highly recommend staying at The Circle.
I had a great stay at Sanni's place. I ended up sleeping in the Treehouse since no one else was scheduled to be there. It's high enough up so you can see out over the neighborhood a bit, and get a nice sea-air breeze. I slept great and look forward to my next stay!
Another great stay at the circle!
We had a really lovely time, the room was super quiet and the floating bed was comfortable - although it felt like we were on a boat some of the time. Just thought that you should know that we did not have access to the kitchen even thought it was advertised on the web site. For most people this probably wouldn't have been an issue but we were kind of looking forward to cooking a little while we were away. :)
I had such a lovely time staying in the "floating bed" room. So tranquil and airy. Ali was a gracious and kind host. The fountains, koi pond, the breeze that comes through the yard made everything so beautiful. For future stayers if you choose to use public transportation it was very easy to navigate my way around. Its a $20 cab ride from LAX, approx. 2.5miles to Venice Beach and an easy bike trek up to Malibu. Lots of great restaurants in the area, an amazing sushi place(Sakura... More »

Very nice and peaceful place! Not so close to the beach though, but it you can get there by bike. Unfortunately, I could'nt get to know Sanni, but she made sure everything was ok for me and I definitely enjoyed my stay!
I wasnt able to meet sanni directly, but her caretaker was very helpful and we even became friends by the end of my stay. i also was fortunate enough to meet some other wonderful people during my stay, so i only have good things to say about the place. i stayed in the cave, and i'm 6 foot tall. if you plan to move around in the marina a lot and not stay inside much, then it is an ideal space for you. very cozy, especially for a mid-day nap! if you are bigger, larger than 6 foot tall and... I stayed in both the cave and the treehouse. I was unable to meet Sanni as she was out of the country, but she was very attentive and checked in often to make sure things were okay. I dont even have words to describe how incredible Sanni's home is. It is truly a little slice of heaven! I stayed in the room with the floating bed. Had a great time in your quirky abode. Many thanks for the kind hospitality.
Sanni has created a sanctuary in Los Angeles, and we couldn't have felt more blessed to have found a place to call home for our visit. Her home and studio radiate love and interactive ways of being with each other, and the environment surrounding. The circle bed is amazing. AMAZING.
They are nice people but next time I'd pitch a tent on the beach rather than kick it in the "treehouse" at $65 a night. It is miles from the beach. Sani wasn't there and I never got a cupcake with a candle. Cold with no heat, spiderwebs, musty smell, bedding didn't appear freshly laundered, super steep ladder type stairs so you better not need to use the bathroom in the middle of the night, which I could never find anyway. For me at least even on this website appear to be far better... More »
Very unique place. We had a great time.
I will just re-affirm what everyone else is already saying about this place. It's beautiful, peaceful, artsy, quiet, but not far from night life if that's what you're after. We really enjoyed our stay and will stay here again if/when we come back to LA.
It was a great, quiet little corner of L.A. to stay. I was amazed at how quiet it was while still being in the city. The floating bed rocked my wife and me to sleep in a neat, converted garage. But the most amazing part was that the whole property had art, fountains and general funkiness that made it a fun place to just sit and soak in the peace and sun.
Very interesting place to stay. Relaxing vibe, good people, lots of things to do within walking distance. I would definitely stay here again!
An artsy section of LA that is proximal to the beach yet very tranquil. Food shops, the mall and the lengthy pacific coast are all accessible by bike. Highly recommended for just sitting around and basking in the California sun, buried in a good book. Sanni and her family have a funky yet peaceful place. It brought out my artistic side during my stay there. A great place to chill, away from the hustle and bustle of New York.
I stay with Sanni every time I'm in Los Angeles. She's an excellent hostess, always granting privacy--and free WiFi--while thoughtfully anticipating needs (extra pillows) and providing unexpected treats (a bottle full of homemade soda). They've recently redone the bathroom, and it's utterly charming: a pine and pebble Elfin retreat. I LOVE this little Bohemian hideaway.
I can't imagine how this experience could have been any better. The room was completely open to beautiful, private spaces on two sides. I could hear the backyard fountains and the children quietly playing and sketching while I worked on the WiFi. Sanni made excellent restaurant reservations. There was even a puppy. Six stars out of five!
We stayed with Sanni and her sweet family for one night. Their home is very green and full of imaginations. I even got candlelight on a cupcake in the morning (it happened to be my bday)! Wish we could visit again and try some other awesome settings from their family!
Good sleep, cool vibe, beautiful people, loved it...
Wow, Sanni and her entire family made this stay a great experience! The cave was roomy and comfortable and well equipped with good stereo and wifi worked well. Extremely comfortable and relaxing atmosphere in a well designed setting that inspires tranquility and creativity. I will be back and highly recommend this unique place to others. A very friendly and loving family environment. Can't say enough good, top ratings.
I had an awesome stay here. This place is beautiful, unique, inviting and inspiring. A lovely experience, I wish I could've stayed longer. Thank you Sanni & family!
Great place...slept well. Only problem was I wasn't there enough :o) Hope I will be back really soon. Thanks heaps
Really cool vibe, the place is beautiful. Sanni is great and really professionnal.
Even with some book problem, my stay in the Circle was great. People were so lovely nice (as well as Alexandra's dog, wouf !). Being able to move faster thank to the bicycles is really great since there are many buses, but it's not easy to use them - I mean the public transportation of Santa Monica - on the first time. Once you're used to it, it's really easy to move without any car. The Circle is amazingly great. I wonder why there aren't more places like it anywhere else (maybe there are).... More »
My stay at The Circle was very enjoyable. Accommodations are rustic but filled with openness and warmth. Don't expect air conditioning and dimmable recessed lights. Rather, expect the smell of the eucalyptis through the windows on a warm summer breeze. Located a stone's throw to Venice & marina Del Ray, convenient to Santa Monica, Wilshire/Westwood, Culver City. Convenient, and VERY quiet at night.
The space is small and sweet. For those attempting to travel around Los Angeles without a car, it is possible to do this here. The bathroom was a bit like camping, but the funky folks that stay at the Circle make up for it.
My stay at the Circle was truly a memorable experience and I highly reccomend it to anyway who is seeking a different approach while traveling through Venice / Santa Monica area. It's a peaceful retreat and designed to calm the mind and open up the flow of creativity. Everyone staying there is friendly and enthusiastic with helping to navigate you to where ever you are looking to go. Thank you Sanni! Aimee
I loved my time at the circle. My hosts were warm and helpful and the environment a wonderful respite from the energy of LA. I would certainly recommend to others seeking a place to connect with others, a soft landing, in a gorgeous environment.
Quite an amazing piece of property in Marina del Rey. And very peaceful, which is unusual in LA. Thanks for having me. Also, take advantage of the vegan Thai restaurant several blocks away on Centinela Ave. Tasty. (website hidden)
met great folks there, would stay again in a heartbeat.
The koi pond is a very interesting touch to a simple but unique place. Convienently located half an hour from Venice Beach and Hollywood movie premier theatres. A good value if you backpacking and looking to discover the quaintness of LA. Located in a residential area if you are looking to avoid walking out into a cold and barren parking lot. I enjoyed my stay. Watching various stages of koi growth is mind calming.
To stay in LA at Sanni's is an unforgettable experience. Her's and her familie's retreat and creative space is an environment that is soaked with beauty , love and creativity. There is no other way than enjoy yourself in the vicinity of the Pacific Ocean,Venice Beach, the Marina and Culver City.
