An amazing apartment in every respect, far exceeding my expectations. I highly recommend Paul's apartment, I only wish I had a longer stay. Thank you
February 2012Paul's place was great, very stylishly furnished and with a great view over London from both of the balconies. Paul's dad was there when I got there to give me the keys and also give me lots of useful and also interesting info about London. Would certainly stay there again. An overall great experience :)
I highly recommend the place to anyone (with respect to Pauls home ofcourse)...after staying at his apartment you can see that he is a great man, he has everything organized and clean and the place has a soul ...we really enjoyed our stay there and were more than happy to come to every day after long walks around London sightseeings. Pauls father was already at the apartment at the time of our arrival and he did great with showing us everything in the apartment and gave us some good tips... More »
Had a lovely experience, the flat was beautiful and the view of the city from its balcony's was spectacular. Dealing with the hosts was easy and smooth. Highly recommended!
This is a fantastic flat with two great decks, BBQ, and views, views, views. We really enjoyed our stay! Paul is very communicative before and during the stay. With a couple of tube changes you are where you need to be. We would come back again for certain.
Paul has a very nice flat, well located, really close from bank. The view from his flat is amazing. The 2 beds are really confortable. it was very clean. We were welcome by Paul's father. He was very nice, commnicative, a real pleasure to meet him. I will definitely recommend to rent Paul's flat.
Our stay at Paul's apartment was simply great! The two separate bedrooms each with own bathroom are perfect for two couples (this was our case). Living room and terraces are spacious and the view is very nice. Need to walk a bit to get to the closest tube station but there are several buses stopping close to the house. Paul's house manual is very clear and you'll find everything you need in it.
Paul's flat was a wonderful place to come home to during an otherwise surprisingly stressful trip. His father, John, met me, and was extremely accommodating when I had difficulty finding my way to the flat because various trains were out of service. He even bought me muffins, orange juice, and milk to get me started. The living/dining area was very comfortable, and the views from the two balconies were fantastic. The flat is in a very residential part of London, so aside from some small... More »
The worst thing about our stay is that now we are spoiled and won't want to stay anywhere else! And, I don't really want to give such a great review that the apartment won't be available for us next time! What can I say? Thank you Paul. We felt very comfortable. All the amenities and more were provided. A note to others staying there : we found that Limehouse station was a bit closer than the other station.
We spent three days in London for a business trip but we felt just like beeing home. Everything was perfectly prepared and organized and Pauls father helped us with all the informations concerning the appartment when we arrived. As it was my first Airbnb experience I have to admit: if every host is so perfect like Paul, no hotels are needed anymore ;-)
We had a brilliant stay at Paul's pad. I hired his flat for the weekend and hosted a 30th birthday dinner party for 12. The flat certainly has the wow factor, with two huge balconies with stunning views over the City and Canary Wharf, an impressive music/projector etc set up and very clean and impressively decorated surroundings. Paul is lovely and was his Dad who let us in. All questions answered straight away and very flexible around us.
We were graciously welcomed by Paul's father, who had fruit and wine and juice waiting for us! The apartment is exactly as described. Walk to the Shadwell DLR station less than 10 minutes and we felt safe throughout our stay.
I hardly think Paul's apartment needs yet another glowing review, but I'll give one anyway! My brother and I greatly enjoyed our stay. We found it really easy to get around, and really nice to return to the apartment after exhausting days sightseeing in London. The apartment had everything we needed (and more), and my brother was so impressed with the apartment that I think he wanted to move in permanently. Paul's father John met us on arrival and was awesome - so friendly and welcoming, and... More »
Apartment is fantastic and once in there was excellent and if you don't go out at night, a wonderful location to view parts on London. Walked to the tower bridge with good eating places along the riverside. Very clean and well set up - Paul's Dad met us and supplied starting items, very much appreciated - we found it hard to leave the apartment. However the location did not feel very safe when accessing the train station (local youths shouting at us), and we would not stay in the location... More »
I had a fabulous week with my son in London, staying at Pauls amazing apartment. The flat is comfortable, cool and very well equipped. We were settled in by John, Pauls dad, who made us very welcome and gave us the lowdown on the local area. We were provided with milk, juice, fruit and muffins ( much appreciated) to help us get started. During the day we were out and about seeing the sights but the flat was lovely to return to after big days. The views are fantastic day or night ( the best... More »
The apartment was very nice and the terrace was great, although due to inclement weather we were unable to use it much. Paul was very responsive to queries prior to our visit and his father was kind enough to partially stock the fridge (and 2 bottles of wine) as we arrived very late at night to the apartment. All in all a nice place and i would book it again
we enjoyed our stay at pauls home very much - thanks again for everything!
AMAZING! Paul's penthouse was an island of coolness, a place we looked forward to returning to at the end of very long days in London. I can't gush enough about this place. Great space: light, airy, cool art, beautiful furniture, comfortable, and relaxed. We felt at home. We were received by Paul's father, John, a very nice gent who indulged my kids and their silly questions, and schooled me in any and all things England--cockney slang in particular. He brought us fruit, and breakfast... More »
We had a great time in a beautiful apartment! The views from the 2 balconies were spectacular! Paul's dad met us and checked us in. The apartment was clean, comfortable and well supplied with towels and all that you need. Paul was easy to communicate with and answered all my e-mails quickly and gave us detailed info on traveling around London, restaurants, and sights to see. We were a 5 minute walk to the Tube and we felt safe at all times!
Very uncomplicated and convenient! Thanks!
Paul's apartment was exactly as stated and proved to be the perfect accomodation for our group of two couples. His Dad was ready for us even though we arrived a little early and was extremely helpful and welcoming. Paul went above and beyond the call of duty by installing a television, even though he has an excellent projector system for dvd's. This proved very welcome, especially on the rainy days when my husband watched Top Gear back to back on 'Dave' and I went shopping with my... More »
My name is Jan Gudmandsen and I rented this apartment this summer. My first impression, when I walked in the door, was extremely positive. It was furnished with a clear sense of personal and modern taste. Also, the huge music collections gave the apartment a charming touch. All in all it was (and is still of course) a comfortable place to spend one's vacation and apart from the beautiful inside and the two terraces with fantastic views it's also a very central place to live. Definetly a... More »
This is our first airbnb experience and what a pleasure! Ease of doing business. Informative profile of Paul's place. And Paul's place itself--he has a great design sense and it's a wall-to-wall statement of thoughtful, simple, artful, from utensils to colors to forms. Paul's write-ups were useful and his dad John, who let us in and gave us the tour, is a warm, wonderful guy. We hooked up our digital camera to Paul's video projector and got to review our London pictures in full-wall... More »
This is a 5 star experience at a great place with a wonderful and accomadating host.Dont miss it if you go to London.dick b
A very nice well equipped flat with a tasteful furnishing and a tremendous view over London skyline from the flat in the 8th level. We enjoyed our stay!
WOW! What a great time we had at Paul's flat in London! The accomodations were just like his video! We were not disappointed. The beds were comfy. It was easy to get to the city by train (only a short walk to the station). We had very busy days, and sometimes had meats and cheeses and wine on the balconies overlooking the skyline instead of going to a crowded restaurant. I would suggest this flat to anyone visiting London. Paul's dad met us and showed us around....was very informative... More »
We had a wonderful time. The apartment is spacious, light, and friendly. John had bought us some breakfast foods and coffee "to start us off," which was an especially nice touch! We'd definitely stay there again.
I really enjoyed my stay at Paul's apartment. His dad was very friendly and helpful welcoming us. The place you see online is what you get so no bad surprises. I travelled with elderly people so we found the tube station was a bit far and not so convenient (must transfer all the time), Keep in mind a more convenient location would be more expensive, so I still highly recommend this place. I didn't interact much with Paul but he always promptly answered my emails and I am sure would gladly... More »
John greeted us upon arrival and he was so charming. Our 2 year old son did not want him to leave. Paul and John took care of all of our needs and provided us with answers to any questions we had. The apartment is beautiful and the balconies were great for an evening retreat. We will be returning there for sure!
a very confortable apartment and a great host. Only inconvenience to point out is that usually you have to take two subways or trains to get to places tourists go, but it is not a long trip and the confort in the apartment outweighs this shortcoming. Three blocks towards the Thames the neighbourhood is very nice and nice to stroll by it, while the immediate surroundings are quiet and secure as far as we experienced them. So a very good price quality ratio.
Paul's place is simply can't be beat for the price. We were travelling with our two year old who loved the terraces and the extra space of an two bedroom apartment. The flat was very well equipped and we appreciated the modern design touches. The location worked very well for us. We had a short stay in London and the Tate Modern was on our list of things to see. We walked back to the flat from the Tate in just over an hour taking in the southside of the Thames, Tower Bridge and the... More »
Hi all, Paul's apartment had all the comforts of home and was perfectly situated close to the tube station just outside of Central London in a good area with a great pub just down the road on the Thames river. I would definately stay there again when i return later in the year.
This is by far the best place I have booked using AirBnB. It was right up my style of living and all I expected it would be when I arrived. Paul and his father were amazing hosts. Very helpful! Not much more to say other than don't hesitate to book Paul's place. It will be worth your while and stay! P.S. If you like to DJ you will be in heaven with the turntables. That alone is worth the stay. : )
Absolutely delighted with the stay. Paul was very accommodating and is a gem of a place. The massive music collection was a bonus too.
Simply perfect! Beautiful flat, really cool location and a very nice host!!! We felt like at home! Thank you very much!!!
perfect place for london stay!
Dear Paul, We had the most wonderful stay at your place and your father was so sociable with us. I hope that you noticed that we were very respectful with your personal belongings and really really enjoyed our stay. I was really impressed with your CD collection and like your taste in music. If you look carefully you will find an addition to your collection. A fluorescent-backed DVD of whom I am and what I do. Hope you enjoy it. I would you like to recommend your premises to anyone who... More »
Surely the best AirBnB apartment in London! 5 mins away from the DLR, two giant terraces, designer furnishings, great record collection. Highly recommended!
First airbnb experience and really pleased. The flat itself is totally amazing, and setup in a truly inspiring way. Good communication in build up to our weekend, since it was my first experience with airbnb i needed some help and Paul was great for that. On arrival on the day we were greeted by Paul's dad John who's a really nice guy. He had some fruits and drinks in the flat and showed us how everything works, and generally gave us some friendly chat. I would definitely stay there... More »
Paul's flat was our home away from home for our week in London! Paul provided great resources and suggestions for wide variety of activities, restaurants, shopping and local neighborhoods. Not to mention his amazing DVD and CD collection...I would recommend his flat and his hospitality to everyone!!
First and great experience in Airbnb thanks to Paul and his father John. Really nice flat, in a beautiful location, perfect base camp where you just feel like home, ready to discover the city and get some rest when tired… Good address for a London trip, kind people, available and flexible. Best.
Paul's flat is ridiculous! Incredible views of the London Skyline. An easy 10 minute walk from the DLR. Distinctive interior design. And John, Paul's dad, adds the personal East London touch w/ chocolate muffins and fruit. Any time I visit London in the future, I will seek out Paul's place first. Wonderful stay all around.
Very positive experience- great apartment, convenient location for my purposes. Paul was very easy to work with!
Paul's place is great and we quickly felt at home there. Email correspondance prior to our stay was swift, friendly and helpful. Paul's dad greeted us upon arrival. Great guy! Would definitely recommend. Especially for two couples travelling together.
We really enjoyed staying at Paul's place. I'll list a couple things that were awesome and one things you should consider. 4 awesome things 1. The flat is excellent. Great amount of space. Lovely views. Natural light. 2. Paul has an epic DVD collection (we're talking two 4 inch binders FULL of DVDs) that you can make use of with his projector. One night we were just too tired to go out, so we popped in a movie and had a great evening in. 3. Paul's place has a great kitchen. The... More »
We had a terrific time at Paul's place and both he and his dad were great hosts and very helpful with everything we asked them about. The views are terrific from the terraces and we were lucky that the weather was kind to us. I think it's a good idea for Paul to leave info about using the busses because we found them a lot more comfortable and easier on the legs than the tube. At night when the tube has stopped, the 15N bus takes you right from the happening areas of the West End directly... More »
We didn't have a chance to meet Paul, but his father met us for check in and was very helpful and friendly. The apartment was just as shown in the photos and perfect for 2 couples. Paul was always prompt in his responses to my questions prior to the trip. Great experience all around.
First, I'd like to start by sincerely thanking Paul for allowing me & my family to stay in his home during our recent trip to London. I had never used Airbnb prior to this vacation, Paul answered my numerous questions & was truly professional throughout the entire process. When we arrived at St. Pancras train station Paul told us where we should go to get a taxi & the information that we should give the drivers to ensure that we arrived at his home safely. When we arrived, his home looked... More »
Five stars because our expectations were fulfilled! Prior to check-in Paul had send all information about the place. Where to find what in the apartment and how it works. Where to find what outside the apartment (shopping etc). His bid on what to see and where to find it. All in all the information level was top notch! Being two couples the apartment was perfect with its two bedrooms with adjacent bathrooms. Don't know if the CD collection is in the hundreds or thousands, but coming... More »
I think we should rename Paul Travers "King Hospitable" of the Hospitality Folks!! He exceeded our expectations in every way, was so fun to visit with, and it made us happy to know we were in such friendly and caring hands. I would heartily rate he and his flat as "top drawer"!!! This part of Central London is in a changing urbanization mode, and is colorful, so if you are up for this type of scene and have an interest in the redevelopment of this area, come experience it!! The apartment was beautiful, and we fully enjoyed our time there. Paul and his dad were helpful and kind from start to finish. I will recommend this apartment and Paul to anyone I know who is going to London.
We spent 3 nights in this spacious penthouse. You could walk 30 minutes and you will be in the center of London or you could take the bus 15 in you are at 10 minutes to the center. The terrace are also welcome in the evening, we enjoyed our trip in London.
Paul was very helpful with directions and things to do and see in London. Everthing was as it was supposed to be, and Paul was available during our time for any queries we had. A very ethnicly diverse area, and short walks to bus and the underground. 10 minutes to downtown on DLR.
Stunning property with excellent views, even better still Paul made me feel (email hidden) you!
We enjoyed staying at Paul's place. His appartment is awesome, clean, well designed with two amazing views on London. Very well located, close to the center, but far enough to be quite, just perfect. Paul was a great and friendly host. Nothing to add, just book!
Paul is a relly cool guy, who enjoys life with all it brings. He is extremely open-minded, helpful and reliable. It was the first time I sub-let my appartement and had not even a slightest doubt that could be some trouble with him and his friends. You can't possibly get a better guest! A secret tip: he loves chocolate :)
January 2012Paul has been a mate of mine for a number of years, and has now strangely also become my boss. He is honest, hard working and quite an inspiring character to be around. He is a no nonsense kind of bloke, laughs a lot and charms the socks off of most people he meets.
July 2010I have known Paul for 3 years now one of the most genuine people you will ever meet. Really good friend with bags of personality- being a bore is something you could never accuse Paul of. I love his flat have had some memorable moments there over the years, the views are to die for.
despite the really scary photo, in reality paul is only moderately scary. He has great taste in pretty much everything and a flat i am seriously jealous of.... One of my oldest friends, he surely is a national treasure. Gary ;-)
keywords - inspirational, motivational, unique, reliable, spontaneous yet highly organised, has introuduced me to things i would never have seens like bootcamp pilates to weird art. i have enrighed his life with shallowness and smutty humour. His London flat is amazing. It's not a flat (its a penthouse) more a tourist attraction because you get an almost 360 view of london and you can pop to the various balconies and say "right lets head that way today and see st pauls blah blah", then... Paul's someone I can count on to do what he says he's going to do or redo our agreement. I can be honest with him and know he'll always be honest with me. He's got a fab sense of humour, a bit off the wall, and I just laugh thinking of some of the funny things he says or emails. He's got a wonderful zest for life. (And he hasn't paid me to say all this!)
Paul might just be the most friendly and easy going guy I ever met. I had the pleasure of staying in the penthouse for an entire week. Paul made sure I felt welcome and right at home.
