Our family of five adults stayed in Violet's home over Christmas. It was a wonderful place for us. It was ideal to have a house to relax in and spend time together when we returned from the city. Some nights our daughter who lives in Astoria stayed and slept on the couch. (It would be quite tight to sleep six adults without that huge couch) We also loved the kitchen and cooked a few wonderful meals there! Our family (mom, dad, four adult children and one grandchild) had the most wonderful stay at this beautiful house, that actually felt much more like a home, right in the heart of Astoria. First I will describe the location -- If you are looking forward to being in the heart of action with the ambiance of European flare, this is your place. Our visit was a week long stay in early November '11. All in all the place worked out reasonably well for us, but there were some changes in our plans required that are worth mentioning. So, I'll do this as pro's and cons. Also, we were two adults and our three year old toddler. Getting a larger space so our son could have some room to play, and we could have relatives over while he slept at night, was a key reason we rented an entire house. It's a very nice experience. The neighborhood is safe and quite, with facilities very convenient. The host provides excellent service.

We had a great stay here. Violet was as friendly and helpful as possible, going out of her way to improve our stay. We really enjoyed having our own communal space and kitchen facilities. The area is great with wide range of local shops and restaurants and it is only 20 minutes to Central Park by train. Nice to be in a residential area after a day surrounded by skyscrapers. I would thoroughly recommend it.

This is a wonderful home hosted by very kind and loving people. Their home made us feel like we were home. My friends and I were all very thankful of what we were provided with, and the location just made it all the more better. The restaurants right around the corner of this home are ALL delicious!! It was very convenient for us and I know exactly who to contact the next time I go to New York. Thank you violet.

We have travelled the world together on many an occasion. Ravi is a dear friend from way back and a musical colleague. Vi is a sweetheart. We've been around the world together and I'd trust them with my life. Their place in Queens is really nice, all modern inside, great backyard for cook outs in a safe, nice neighborhood loaded with restaurants, shops and a quick train into the city.

Violet and Ravi have an amazing home in a great area of Astoria, Queens. Their home is an oasis in the hustle and bustle of NYC, very close to mass transit, and a wonderful neighborhood to walk around in, with a very cute back garden area. They are excellent hosts with a clean, spacious, modern home with all the amenities you could need/want. I highly recommend their place for anyone visiting NYC.

Violet and Ravi have a beautiful, spacious house in a hip area of Queens. I had the most comfortable stay there, and even though we were a short walk from tons of restaurants and bars, they are tucked into a quiet street where I slept like a baby! I love their modern decor. Everything has been updated, including the awesome kitchen. Going to explore Manhattan was a sinch, since they live a short walk from the subway. They are wonderful people and fantastic hosts. I will definitely be back!!!
