Staying at Don's place was the first time I had used airbnb.com I had my doubts, but the apartment exceeded all my expectations. It was really easy to pick up the key, the room was clean and had all the necessities, and i felt safe and secure the entire time. I would highly recommend Don's places to anyone!

Stayed at W house #17 / Good points: Amazing view of Empire State Bldg, secure bldg, comfy queen size bed, nice wood floor, terrific location if you want to see some Off-Broadway plays (within walking distance of many theaters), within 2 blocks of a full-service grocery store (Food Emporium) / Bad points: Needed ear plugs to drown out 30+ city buses with back-up alarms being parked day and night in lot directly below window, only one easy chair, no kitchen table, mold around bathtub

The room was very clean and had
many useful appliances. The view was great! We could see the
empire state bldg from our window! It was a pleasure doing business with him.

Don was awesome - very friendly and attentive the entire time (before and after my arrival)! The room was really spacious too (we fit 3 people easily with an airbed). It was really comfy and the building is really nice and safe. I thought the towels were fine - not too thin - and the bathroom was fairly clean (although other reviewers thought different). The hotel is about a 10-15 min walk from the subway station - so really convenient for getting anywhere.
The only negative things I could say were: more trash bins (there is only one small one in the living room), more hand soap for the bathroom, and free internet (I was promised internet but could not get connected the whole weekend - which was unfortunate because I needed to do a little work).
Either way, I would definitely consider staying at Don's again!! He was a great host!

We had a great time in NYC. The apartment was in a great location, not too close to all the action but a reasonable walk. The room was very comfortable and larger than a normal hotel room. Would recommend to anyone.

Don's place is a great apartment, cozy and warm with a great view and far better than most NY hotels. Don was very welcoming and helpful, and we would stay there again next time we're in town. We had a fun time in NYC, and didn't mind staying a little off the beaten path. We echo some of the other comments regarding cleaning - the bathroom could have used some additional attention - and there could also have been a few more kitchen ware items (glasses, plates, can opener etc.) All in all it was an ideal place to stay in New York.

We stayed at Don's for one night it is definitely better than a hotel room! The location was great, the view was amazing...made us feel much better with the NYPD station nearby. The place was clean although a special attention needs in the bathroom.
Don can be easily reached no matter what time it was. Thanks for taking our last minute reservation! I would recommend his place anytime.

The apartment is awesome - nice location near Times Square, clean and enough space for two.
A lot of restaurants at 9-11th avenues.
Don is a nice guy, friendly and kind.
Strongly recommend the apartment.

Don's place was generally good. The location was great with a 15 minute walk to the Port Authority Terminal and a 20 minute walk to Time Square. The apartment was as described and was large enough with a very comfortable bed. The only complaint is the bathroom wasn't cleaned after the previous guests. We would stay again though.

My boyfriend and I stayed at Dom's for 5 nights. It was perfect for our stay because: it was really spacious, spotlessly clean, close to everything and arriving and departing was seamless. The view of the Empire State building from the window was a bonus! Would recommend to any couple wanting to stay somewhere clean and hassle free in New York.

Stayed at Don's place for three nights. The place was spotless, the bed comfortable and the view spectacular. It's a little off the beaten path but the crosstown 42M makes it easy to connect to anywhere in the city. Location is very convenient if you happen to be working at the Javits Center. I would stay at Don's again and would recommend him to anyone.

We stayed at #12 WHaus for two weeks and found it to be a safe and clean place to stay for the rate offered. The building itself feels a bit away from the centre of the city, however if you don't mind a quick bus ride on the M42 or a 15 - 20 minute walk to Times Square then it shouldn't be a problem. After you pass the Port Authority Bus Terminal, heading to 12th street there are a few restaurants, fast food places and a Food Emporium which was helpful. It was also easy to walk to 10th street and catch a bus to Chelsea as well as walk along 8th Ave.
Don has furnished the studio very well and staying there for two weeks made for a cosy home away from home. The view of ESB and the NEW YORKER sign was one of the highlights of the apartment, along with the internet service. We had our own macbooks with us, but Don supplied a macbook too if you need to access the internet.
I would recommend bringing your own towels as the ones supplied were a little used and small for our liking. I would have preferred for the bathroom, especially the bathtub, between the shower and sink and the shower curtain to be a little more cleaner, but these are just minor issues compared to the relative comfort and ease we had during our 2 week stay at WHaus.
The kitchen was most useful to brew some coffee each morning. The fridge was clean and helpful for storing our water, juice and milk. We didn't use the stove, but it looked in good condition.
There is also a spacious walk-in wardrobe to store suitcases and hang your clothes. You can do your own laundry down the hall using a card operated machine and dryer, for $2.50 each wash and dry session.
The building is manned by a friendly group of doormen, there is a secure ATM in the lobby and a small convenience store in the complex.
I would recommend staying here if you are travelling along or as a couple.
Don was also very pleasant to deal with. We communicated a few times before our arrival and also twice during our stay. He made himself contactable and approachable.

Stayed at Don's for two nights. Apartment was perfect for what I was looking for - clean and comfortable and not too far out of the way for everything that NY has to offer. At this price I really can't say anything negative - would definitely stay at Don's again.

The apartment was really clean when we arrived and Don's helper was friendly and trustworthy. The pictures match the apartment and the bed is actually queen sized even though one reviewer said it wasn't. I liked how the apt came with a macbook and internet connection, really helpful during our stay. The bus outside the apartment comes often and is convenient if you don't want to walk the 4 long blocks to the subway. Windows blocked out nearly all the outside noise, but doesn't open wide enough to stick your head out. Fridge did go off during at certain times but we got used to it. Don was very accommodating and called ahead of time to give us any extra info. Thanks Don. Highly recommend!

Don's place works well for West Side visits, down the street from Circle Line, gorgeous waterfront and easy access by cab to Meat Packing and High Line. Need to hoof it or take the cab or crosstown bus for all else. Don and staff, very accommodating and friendly. Place neat but could have been cleaner esp bathroom. Thanks Don for great visit to NYC!

The apartment was neat and clean as shown and met all our needs.
The location is great for tourists (central, close to times square) and those in town for theatre. It's easy to get a cab from out the front of the building to go further afield.
We stayed for a week and having internet access was a real plus.
The view of Empire state building was also a nice addition.
We would definitely recommend to others with similar needs to our own.
Very enjoyable and hassle free stay. Thanks Don.

Don's place looks as clean as the pictures and Don was very nice. I missed the part about it only being a double bed, so I was a little crowded, since I actually had to share with my girlfriend––in spite of that, nice bed, good pillows and I think he had a few more comforters stashed in a closet, which I should have used as we were always a little too warm and I could have used a lighter one. Very quiet building, but I found the noise outside to be a little annoying––but that's new york. I also found the refrigerator noisy, but just unplugged it at night. Next time I'll remember the ear plugs. There's a great market just about two blocks away. The doormen were all nice and overall, the apartment was a great find.

The place is much nicer than shown in the pictures, very confortable bed, nice linens and towels are provided. The TV is fantastic, AND THE VIEW!!! You can also rent a MAC from Don if you don`t want to take your laptop with you, very convinient!!! He left shampoo, soap, tooth paste and some things to eat (cereals and soups) for us, very sweet! The location is great, is close enough to the subway and if you don`t feel like walking 42M bus takes you through the 42nd across town all the way to the UN from the bulding`s door (wich is also very nice) We would definitively stay here again! Thanks Don!

W haus is the place!! Very conveniently located in the west side of Mid-town, it served as a great launching pod for our theatre weekend. It is a short walk to restaurant row and the theatre district. Don was very reliable and accommodating. I am coming back!!
