I am a 35-year old professional who just helped launch a new start-up company, which means I'm rarely home. I am very active in civic and political affairs. I serve in leadership positions with my neighborhood association and other nonprofit, charitable organizations. I am also an avid cyclist. I've got plenty of extra bikes you can borrow to explore Golden Gate Park and other parts of the city. I love San Francisco and will gladly provide tips on how to enjoy San Francisco like a local resident - favorite neighborhood cafes, restaurants, sights, views, and places that tourists sitting on a double decker tourist bus won't experience. Once we make a connection, I will provide links for you to learn more about me so you'll see I'm a trustworthy person.

Dan was a phenomenal host! So incredibly accommodating and helpful. He showed me many awesome places I wouldn't have otherwise discovered in his wonderful neighborhood. His availability for questions via SMS was fantastic. Dan is a really great guy and I will absolutely be recommending him for friends and family coming to visit!

REALLY quiet and cosy ! I love this place ! Breakfast on the rooftop terrace is really nice :-) A pity I did not meet Dan, but he lend me a bike and this was GREAT to have this experience of SFO. I wish I has stayed longer to visit more The Haights !

Great location and set up. Fantastic deli opposite and cafe on corner of road. Found the rooftop on the 2nd day as thought Dan's room was up the stairs initially so didn't venture up them! Dan obviously very busy man and only 1 of our party met him briefly but all fine - had lots of info left in the house for us and wireless details which was useful. Not the cleanest of places but no charge for cleaning so not a massive surprise - suited us not to be treading on eggshells whilst there... More »

Fab apartment, very spacious, close to everything as he promised. Dan was helpful with lots of tips for places to go. We only saw him briefly a couple of times but he was very friendly. Only thing I would say is in his absence a cleaner would make a difference to the space!

My girlfrind and I stayed at Dan's place 5 nights it was clean comfortable ,quiet and in a great location.We rarely saw Dan but when we did found him to be a really nice guy with helpful tips about San Francisco.Dan was always contactable by his preferred method sms even while he was at a u2 concert,sorry again Dan.We would definantly stay here again.

Overall my folks had a pleasant experience staying at Dan's place, there were a few issues with communication, but overall recommended.

Great stay with Dan! We were able to meet up the first day we arrived and he gave us suggestions of where to see and eat. Instructions to get to his place were easy and he was always at the other end of his cell phone to answer questions. The room was clean and comfortable and we felt comfortable as guests in his home.

This was our first time using Airbnb. The listing was very much as advertised. It really was easy to walk to lots of places, and easy to catch a cab for longer distances. We had no worries about the neighborhood, and there were restaurants and an upscale grocery store right across the street. The photos do represent what the place looks like. Our stay with Dan was great! He had some really good advice about places to see and things to do. He was always helpful and kind and the place is really great. You can do all kind of stuff from there because of the good location.

Although I didn't get to met Dan during my stay in SF everything ran smoothly. Dan's condo was very well equipped and more than comfortable. As I was a first time visitor to SF, Dan was kind to give helpful advise via email prior to arriving and also left handy visitor guides in the room for when I arrived. Which is a kind and thoughtful gesture. The location was fantastic and I found it easy to get around. Highly recommended!! 5 STARS from me :)

Dan is a sensational host. Really kind and considerate. His place is spacious and clean. Loads of clean fresh towels. Always helpful and friendly. I cannot recommend him highly enough. In fact I intend to stay again. It really is that good.

My fiance and I stayed with Dan 4 nights on our first ever visit to San Francisco. We met Dan the morning after our first night there; he was very friendly and incredibly helpful, giving us great recommendations on food, local places to visit, and transit tips. Nice condo. Centrally located. Met Dan for a quick minute one morning as we were both leaving for work and seems like a really nice guy. Would definitely recommended renting his place.

We were sorry not to be able to meet our host as he had to go out of town. We had no trouble communicating with him via e-mail. Our room was nice and the bed comfortable. It was very quite in the condo despite the fact that it is on a busy road. We would certainly have no doubts about returning to Dan's home.

I stayed almost two weeks in Dan`s apartment. Dan is a very helpful & easy person and I met him only three times. He is very uncomplicated and he gave me a very good support and some great recommendations to plan my trip. His apartment is huge, not super clean, but very cosy, very quiet and it´s great located. I felt very homy!!! If I come next time to SF, I would stay again in Dan`s house!! Thank you for the great time!!

Dan's super apartment offered us a great night's sleep in a busy city. It was loaded with extra's like great bathroom, main living area space and laundry as well as a prefect central neighborhood for finding coffee,shopping & meals. We truly could "walk everywhere" and that included Golden Gate Park, the Wharf, Downtown. We felt welcome, safe and relaxed. We found a treasure with Dan and are grateful for his hospitality.

We had a lovely stay at Dan's place! The flat is amazing with a cool rooftop deck! It was very clean and comfy! It is in a great location too. We didn't see Dan alot but he was a great host, and arranged everything before with us! Would definitely recommend!

Dan and I were on different schedules during my stay, but he still managed to be an excellent host. He made it easy for me to find and enter his condo, which is clean and comfortable. The neighborhood is great. I would definitely stay in Dan's place again. Next time, I am going to take a bike ride!!

His home is our home, that is how he welcomed us and that is how we felt. Dan's appartment is beautiful with very tastefull colours and everything you needed. It is located in a wonderfull area with a great supermarket just across the street. But best was having coffee in the morning on the terrace. Thanks Dan, we had a great time at your place.

DAN has a very nice and clean apartment and he prearranged everything before hand to make things easy for the guest to move in. The location is good - easy access to public transport. Most important of all, Dan is a very good host, he assisted me to sort out so many issues!!

I enjoyed staying at Dan's condo immensely. It's within easy walking distance of a number of shops and restaurants. It's within busing distance of Market Street, Yerba Buena Gardens, Fisherman's Wharf, and Golden Gate Bridge. The condo itself is a comfortable place to stay -- the room is nice and the bathroom as well. Dan was extremely accommodating.

Dan was a great host and has a great house in a great location. My two teen age kids and I had a great time in the city and Dan's was the perfect place to stay. We were close to the park the Haight and really all the city has to offer. My son is a big bike rider and Dan had great bikes to ride. One of the great highlights of the trip was riding bikes into the park and watching the sunset and the full moon rise at Stowe Lake. We hope to return again soon.

We had a very enjoyable 2 night stay at Dan's apartment in the heart of San Francisco. He left us good instructions and we found his place comfortable and clean. He made us feel welcome and was most helpful with information and recommendations regarding transport and local restaurants.

Dan organized a key for us to be placed somewhere safe, that we could enter his home while he was at work. Absolutely perfect = NO WAITING TIME WHATSOEVER! My two sons (12 and 13 years old) felt absolutely comfortable in Dan's home and also safe. Dan wasn't at home very much, yet me met occasionally and every time he made sure that everything was ok for us, gave us directions for exploring SF, he was very helpful indeed! The location was easily accessible to the Golden Gate Panhandle leading into Golden Gate Park and 2 blocks to the the 71 and 6 MUNI which will take you down to Market Street where you can transfer if needed. There is a great market and deli across the street and a cafe a few houses up which we enjoyed through out our week stay. Dan showed us some great bike rides as we rode all over the city and across Golden Gate Bridge to Sausalito, the ride was 40km round trip and would recommend doing... More »

The appartment is located very good and you can really go by public transfer or even by bike to several interesting places. Since Dan has been at the soccer WM we have not been in that close contact but he arranged everything in before. Thanks.

The Good - Dan has a modern apartment with great kitchen in a relatively quiet location adjacent the Panhandle. Across the road is an excellent grocery store/deli and on the corner a great coffee shop. The Bad - no phone, no laundry, no TV, 20 blocks from the city centre. Don't try riding into town unless you have a great bike..... get the bus. Rooms and bathrooms could be cleaner. The Ugly - try waiting 2 hours on the doorstep for access @#$^&&* !!!! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Dan's place. It's a perfect location to experience the "real" atmosphere of San Francisco, and Dan is a great host; super helpful and easy going. Despite being a bustling location, the condo and bedroom are quiet, making it easy to sleep.

Dan's place is a very beautiful condo with a big, comfortable bed and a clean bathroom. I met Dan only at the begin of my stay, the rest of it i stayed alone because he was in NY. Thanks Dan for your trust in me. The neighborhood is very interesting with lots of restaurants, shops and bars, i loved it. It's also very central, you can reach the whole city by public transportation in a short time. Highly recommended.

Dan’s gracious hospitality and very comfortable, clean and quiet condo made our visit to San Francisco very pleasant. The location is great – lots of places to check out – café’s, restaurants, The Haight/Ashbury, Pan Handle, Golden Gate Park etc. Very easy access to transit to virtually everywhere in the city in short order – especially with Dan’s knowledge of the various systems and personal guidance! We had a great time in San Fran- the apartment was so comfortable, clean, and well decorated (nice photos, Dan!) Overall, we were very pleased with our stay. We walked all over the city, used lots of public transit, biked through the park, and took note of many of Dan's trusty restaurant and activity recommendations. In addition to all of this, Dan is just a super nice guy who is active in local affairs and has a lot of useful info to share about the city. Great stay. Highly recommended.

Thanks so much Dan!! Super helpful, great location, plenty of space and kid friendly. (They loved hanging out on the roof top when we were in for more than 5 minutes.) Fantastic local knowledge which made the beginning of our massive adventure a very easy transaction - even in our jet lagged state!

All I have to say is that the experience was great! Dan's place is in a perfect location which offers many great city hot-spots within walking distance. During our stay, Dan hooked myself and two of my friends up with bicycles to ride around the city and explore areas farther out.
