  We loved Kathleen’s place! Walking into someone’s home is like catching a glimpse at their mind and in this case it is the mind of an organizational and creative genius. Every nook had a surprise and the whole place felt so much bigger. The whole layout was carefully thought out and best of all it was fun. I would love to have just a small percent of Kathleen’s gift.   My daughter and I had the pleasure of staying at the Kathleen's jewel on the 15th floor of the Villa Riveria during Spring Break. We were delighted by the photographs but it did not compare to being there! We were happy to come back to this colorful and captivating apartment after our excursions. We had a wonderful time in Southern California, and recommend Sand Castle for anyone who is looking for an alternative to a hotel experience. We felt right at home!

  We adored staying at Kathleen's beautiful apartment. We spent a good chunk of time just exploring the apartment in fact. It's ideally located for checking out Orange County as well as LA and it's an easy walk to get to plenty of bars and restaurants in downtown Long Beach. I loved waking up here and just seeing so many interesting things around me, as well as the amazing view from the window. Thanks so much for opening up your home to us!

  Absolutely loved my stay here. Couldn't wait to get back to the apartment every day, it brought a smile to my face every time I opened the door. It's so quirky and beautifully decorated and it was the perfect getaway for me and my boyfriend. The place is right on the beach so you can go for nice walks and it's not too far from Disneyland which we got to by bus for $2.75 (we're super proud of ourselves for that).   We loved staying in Kathleen's amazing space! The colours are bright and fun, and there is brilliant use of every nook and cranny. There really is attention to detail throughout the entire space.   Kathleen and her condo were both fantastic. This was my first airbnb experience, and I can't say enough good things about it. A perfect location right on the beach in downtown Long Beach and very close to public transit, an incredibly cute condo that looked like someone spilled a big glass of the 1980s all over it, and an extremely accommodating host. I'll definitely stay there again, and if you're in the area, you should too.

  This apartment is an absolute treasure – quirky, spirited, colorful, beautiful. (Not to mention clean, neat, orderly, and all the things that give comfort.) Kathleen is lovely and a generous, courteous host. Couldn't recommend more.

  If you are a child of the 80's or 90's you know Lisa Frank, Trapper Keepers, bright colors and patterns, and fun!! Well, this is what the jewel box is--not to mention an amazing view of the city, location right next to the beach (with a great path to run or rollerblade on), gargoyles on the building's facade, and a top floor view.
