For most of my travel, I enjoy exploring cities and getting to know the distinct character of their neighborhoods--people and architecture. I currently work as a writer and communications consultant for companies and non-profits, but in a past job, I helped small business owners work together to find creative ways to attract visitors and shoppers to their Pittsburgh neighborhood (my hometown). My partner in travel is my boyfriend, Dan, who works as a journalist for a national newspaper and is currently learning to surf. We share our home with two cats. When I'm not work, I like to ramble the streets of Manhattan, escape to a beach for calm and quiet, hang out with friends, and dance to Cajun music.
