The place is really good, well decorated. It's a good place to stay in Manhattan. The neighborhood is safe, located next from Chinatown. Mike is a great host. L'appartement est tres sympathique, entierement renove et propre. Il est tres bien situe, juste a cote d'une station de metro et de chinatown. Un des meilleurs endroits pour rester a New York pour pas cher.

This is the second time I have stayed at one of Lucy and Johns apartments in NYC. And once again, I was very impressed by their accommodation, professionalism and the care they put into being a host-i received multiple phone calls and text messages during my stay from John asking how my stay was going. This apt was perfect! Amazing location convenient to so many great restaurants and lounges. The apt was as photographed and super clean. There were 5 of us and we all were very comfortable here. Check in was super easy. The host was very flexible and allowed me to check in early and check out late without any additional fees. My boyfriend and I stayed at this apartment in mid January 2012. The hosts were organized and welcoming and the apartment clean. Mike made us feel that he would be there for us if ever we had an issue. We were provided with all the necessities we could ask for. It was great not having to lug my hairdryer with me and having a coffee maker at our disposal. We had a great trip to NYC! The location was amazing , lots of restaurants and amenities juststeps from the front door. The apartment was a warm, and surprisingly quite respite to come home to. The check in process went seamlessly.

The apartment was great and the hosts were easy to communicate with and were very accommodating to a late check out time. Location was great. There were some small issues I would have liked to know about in advance - like no bars on the windows and the exposed heating pipe. Wouldn't be good for very small children. But other than that the stay was comfortable and lovely and well worth the reasonable price!

The ultimate Scorsese experience! I have no words to describe my staying in John N Lucy's 2 Cozy ELS apartment! It was the most unexpected holidays ever! To be honest the very first day I felt a little weird because of the spooky mood of the neighbourhood. That feeling last for only a couple of hours! The neighbourhood is MORE THAN SAFE. I had a great time at John N Lucy place! The apartment is small but very comfortable, located in the heart of Chinatown in a very quiet place. Subway is 10 seconds by walk (F orange Line) and you can reach the heart of Manhattan in 5 minutes! The room is small but very clean, high-speed WiFi is available for free. We were two people and we spent 1 week there, it was awesome!

Remember that it is a "share" apartment. You stay with other people. We had forgotton that. But it worked out quite well. Very nice people. A clean, small and new apartment. Great location. One tiny little thing: The windows. Fresh air and daylight could not really get in. I also recommend that you do not stay 4 girls in the double bed room, because that is going to be too crowded. Lovely apartment in a great spot! The apartment was clean and well equipped, new bedding, plenty of towels etc. Hosts were easy to contact and prompt in getting back to us. Five of us stayed here over New Years and had a mixed experience. Not horrendous, but not outstanding. The GOOD: Very close to the subway (F Train); only a few minutes walk to some good parts of Chinatown, Little Italy and the Lower East Side (area seems sketchy when you first arrive, but it's really quite alright); convenience stores and drug store on the same block; 2 subway stops to a Whole Foods supermarket; apartment was clean on arrival; the host kindly gave us an early check-in... John and Lucy's space on the Lower East Side was very much in keeping with the New York way of apartment living, nothing fancy, but good for the money. The three bedroom apartment was perfectly suitable for a group of four friends looking to stay on the Lower East Side for cheap. I booked John and Lucy's #2 LES apartment for my coworker Szilvi who was in town from Budapest for our company holiday party. John and Lucy were great hosts and Szilvi didn't have any issues with check in or getting the keys. My correspondence with John and Lucy did seem a bit impersonal, they forwarded us to their friend Mike and sent a LONG email filled with rules and guidelines which was a bit off-putting and excessive. Other than that, everything went great and Szilvi had a relaxing trip.

What a great place to stay in NYC! The room we stayed in was pretty tight for 4 adults, but totally doable. It's conveniently placed within a block from the subway, which made traveling through the city a breeze! We quickly felt at home in this cozy apartment, which stays nicely warm in the winter! Ha ido todo perfecto, el apartamento es tal y como se muestra en internet. Estaba limpio, la zona es muy buena, con muy buena comunicación para moverte por todo Manhatan sin problemas. Y además la persona de contacto con la que teníamos que quedar para recoger las llaves, ha sido puntual y nos hemos podido comunicar sin problemas. Studio union square. This place is quite good, well located, in a very pleasant district close to subway, so very convenient. But, in real the studio is not as big as the pictures seen, the heating is too high, the fridge wakes you up every 30 min. So basically, this studio is pretty good if your are a good sleeper, if it s dificult for you to fall asleep, then choose another one. One good point, the apartment is located in a very good aera. For the price it worths.

I had a fine stay in this apartment. The building is a real old-fashioned tenement, right on Delancey, and for all I know was the same building my great grandmother lived in when she arrived from Europe. I can very much recommend #12 St Marks Pl to everyone looking for a clean, nice and typical NY appartment to stay while in NY. Mike was very freindly and helpful. The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen had everything we needed. Size wise it was perfect for the 4 of us and the location could not have been better.

Great location, very clean, very quiet at night consider living on the 14th street. Great for size for 2 people, close to everything (subway, restaurants, shops, pharmacy...) definitely come back. Highly recommended.

John, Lucy and Mike are excellent hosts - they're accomodating and quick to respond to any question. The location is near the F train, and close to many of chinatown's popular restaurants. The apartment is narrow (like all nyc apartments), but really clean - complete with comfortable beds and a great shower. Definitely would revisit this apartment, or any of their properties for that matter - thanks guys!

great location next to the subway and a lot of shops, very clean and a really nice Mike who really cares about his guests. We slept in the bedroom that is located to the front of the house and because of that it was a little bit loud in the morning, but we just slept in the apartment and were out the whole day, so it didn't effect our nice stay in NYC. I really recommend to sleep there!

john canceled #3 MANHATTEN 3 (!!!) days before arrival. he accepts rentals via various websites, and wrote me that he double booked the apartment. anyway, he offered another apartment (#8) which we finally took (have you ever tried to find a proper vacation apartment in ny 3 days before arrival? nearly impossible.). when i read other feedbacks, i think there is a system for the late cancelations in order to get all of his apartments fully booked. if you wanna be sure that you get the... Stayed in "#13 Henry" 1 bedda, for just over a week, and overall was really happy with the stay. The location is super close and convenient to funky L.E.S, East Village and West VIllage. As a solo female traveller I felt very safe walking home in the wee hours of the morning! Mike was thaaaa bomb haha super nice guy and was hassle free.The room is quite small, however there was only me so it wasn't a problem. The apartment is very nice and newly renovated! Mike was a very nice host with good tips regarding nearby restaurants and shops. The location is very good connected (F Line just 5 Minutes away) and we always felt save on the street. The room offers two beds and a closet. for 2 people enough space (also because you are most of the time outside in NYC..)

We had a really good time in Mike's appartment. The appartment is good situated, near to Soho, Bowery, etc.The appartment has just been renovated and Mike is a nige guy. The only thing we missed was the view out of the windows... the other buildings are so close, you can't see the sky. But I would definitly recommend this appartment.

I stayed by John N Lucy for 5 days and I found myself very well. The apartment is completely renovated, clean and quiet. The subway station is at 2 minutes and in the area there are several grocery stores. Little Italy and Chinatown are within walking distance in 10-15 minutes. Thx Mike for your kindness!

Mike was a great host. He is very nice, friendly and accommodating. The place is new and spotless clean. The bed was comfortable and perfect for a good night rest. The location is perfect, as it is a short walking distance to the bus stops and subway stations.

My booking was cancelled a day before I went to NY due to a double booking but John and Lucy arranged us to stay at another of their property at the 7th Street. Was nervous prior to arriving about the accomodation but our fears were quickly gone. The flat was small but has everything we needed. The apartment had a great location, was clean and nice! I would definitly consider to rent this apartment again if I go to New York again. It was perfect for two persons, a couple of days on our vacation we were four and that was ok for a few days but more would have been a bit crowdy. Everything was pretty fine in John and Lucy's apartment (17th St Marks Place). The location is one of the best in New York. St Marks place is a great neighbourhood with a lot of bars, restaurants, all the facilities nearby (duane reade, laundry, whole market, starbucks) and lots of metro or bus stops 1 block away. Excellent stay in Chinatown/NYC. Mike and John were great hosts with no problems at all! Wonderful room in a quiet neighborhood. Subway is less than a block away. Your are in chinatown so EXCELLENT chinese food down the street and Mike took me to an awesome late night noodle place one night. Would recommend staying here highly!

It's quite difficult to be objective having just read some of the recent reviews.... maybe a coincidence, but we were meeted and greeted by MIke - so being cynical I'd say they work together on a wider range of rentals than just those listed by John and Lucy. The overall accommodations were as promised, and the hosts were nice. There was a problem with a double-booking of my place just before I arrived which caused some trouble, but I think the hosts did everything humanly possible to make up for it.

We had a very pleasant vacations at John & Lucy's apartment. Mike treat us very kindly. The apartment was clean and spacious enough for us (4 -5 adults). The Subway was near and we were walking distance from most of our most interesting points. It was a little noisy as we could hear the air conditioners from other apartments and there was a construction going on in the building. However I will definitively recomend the apartment to others. It is worth the price, good stay and the location is really good so just for that go for it. (and there is AC, really useful this summer) The drawbacks are: -Wifi / TV didn't work -Floor not clean at all -No curtains in the room (check the picture) but if you like to wake up with the sun it's OK this seems minor to me, but hope the host will take it into account for the next ones!

OK I've been waiting to review this place to get a little perspective. I want to be as objective as possible. Pros. 1. John is a super nice dude. He tried to make things better when they weren't quite right but unfortunately didn't really have the time to handle it. My boyfriend & I stayed for a week in this apartment and it was just right. I'm not sure 4 people would have stayed comfortably for a week. The rest is as described except for the microwave in the kitchen area. It was also missing a couple of essentials in the cupboard but we still manage perfectly. We had no problems with our stay and everything was as advertised. The location was great, close to shopping, food, and subway. Very quiet at night, so sleeping is not a problem. John was very accommodating and responsive to phone & texts. We would definitely stay here again.

The apartment has a nice situation close to metro stations. It is in a district with lots of good restaurants and nice bars to go out at night. James, Paul and John were easy to contact to give us answers to our questions. There is one room next to the street so it is a little noisy in the morning to sleep late but i think that a major part of NYC apartments is in the same situation.

We had a great stay. We were there for 7 days and couldn't have asked for a more comfortable stay. The apt is close to the F train at Delancey and Essex and from there Manhattan is your oyster. We traveled 3 single adults, the apartment is a bit small but we were there just to sleep so it was not a problem as the beds were comfortable (better the 2 double beds in the bedroom than the sofa bed). The living (where te sofa bed and the kitchen are situated) is small and has no window but the sofa bed is big enough. The hosts were very responsive and willing to work with our schedule. The room was exactly as it had been described. Apartment is very close to the subway stop as well as a drug store, restaurants and bars. Can be noisy at night but what you would expect in the city.

We had a fantastic long weekend in NYC, in no small part to this fantastic apartment. Everything is very very clean, the bedsheets are gloriously soft, and it's a very comfortable size - compared to a hotel, it's enormous. You can't beat it for location - walk in to SoHo in ten minutes, Chinatown is on your doorstep, Williamsburg is just across the river... Absolutely perfect. We enjoy our stay in the apartment. James, Lucy and John are very responsives and sympathetics. The apartment is perfect for 2 persons and ok for 4. However, it will be a bit too small for 6. No problem at all with the neighbourhood and the apartment is very close to the main lines of subway. I reserved this apartment for some inlaws that were visiting, and did not actually stay there. However, I did visit them several times and the apartment was great. Very clean, well-maintained, full kitchen, etc. They provided a comfortable air mattress for the 4th person. It's small, but no more so than it looks in the pictures. Their only complaint was that the heating system was quite noisy at night, so that could be a problem for light sleepers. But overall, a great deal in a great location!

John and Lucy were indeed great hosts. The apartment we stayed in was in Chinatown, and had great access to Little Italy, 2 subway stops, a Starbucks, and was walking distance to the Brooklyn Bridge. It was pretty small, but we managed alright with 5 women. There were a few issues with the plumbing, but John had James come out and fix them by the next day. Great hosts and awesome hospitality!

The location is fantastic. The apartment was ok but way too small for four people. There were a few issues regarding the cleanness of the apartment but that was taken care of immediately. If comfort is high priority it may not be the best choice. But in terms of location it's definitely the best place I got to stay at so far.in NYC.

On the first morning we woke up a bit cold (the centrally controlled heater had turned off in the middle of the night) and we notified john. Staying on Orchard street was awesome! The appartment is nice and in a very cool neighborhood. The first night was rather cold, the windows aren't perfectly insulated, but then the heating kicked in and it got cosy. Don't expect the fanciest, luxurioust interior, but expect a real authentic NYC living experience! It was a wonderful place to stay. The location is quite close to Chinatown, but my favorite restaurant is a Japanese one on Delancey street. They serve very healthy soba. It is only 5 min walk to F, M, and about 5 min to B, D. The apartment has everything that a traveler might need, but it is better to bring your own towel. John and Lucy's bed and breakfast is a 1 bedroom apartment that is furnished with everything we needed for my visit to the city. So much better than paying $400 for small hotel room. Kitchen was fully stocked, though it could use a collander for draining our pasta. My girlfriend loved that fact that the bathroom and kitchen were clean and tidy. You step outside and it's NYC! What a great OCT stay in NYC. The Delancey location with the express, or "Select Bus" going swiftly north on 1st Ave or south on 2nd Ave made transportation easier that expected. We stayed for 9 days at John and Lucy's apartment in the Lower East Side on Delancey. The subway is very near and it is very easy to reach any point in Manhattan. The apartment is nice and spacious. One thing worth noting is that the bed is very soft - so if you like firm beds - this can be a problem. John was very helpful, and really did his best to make our stay comfortable. Disappointed. Although confirming that the place was available the host canceled my reservation. This only 2 days after confirming availability... Better then to tell your guests that it is not yet confirmed.

John and Lucy were amazing hosts. They were very laid back and accommodating. Their location was perfect. Literally one minute away from all Subway trains. There were many shops and restaurants nearby as well as local attractions such as Ground Zero. If you want to visit Times Square or Central Park, you can easily get on the Subway nearby and it will take you all the way there. Beats taking the taxi!
