I am a graphic designer & my wife is a ballet dancer. We live in Brooklyn and enjoy traveling the world, eating good food & drinks, taking in as many galleries and museums as possible, and hanging out with friends. We can't live without coffee, wine, and dark chocolate. Art inspires us and we have an impressive vintage paint-by-number collection. We'd be happy to host you! Feel free to contact us. :)
We had 22 fantastic days in NYC which would not have been possible without staying at Josh and Drew's apartment -a hotel was out of the question It also meant that my partner's son could join us and we got to share time together The apartment has lots of room and is warm and comfortable (loved the central heating) My partner was sick for a few days so it was great to be able to buy groceries and cook a couple of nights Its a great neighborhood and very easy to get to Manhattan Love the... January 2012Josh and Drew were wonderful hosts! Everything was so well organised for us, and their apartment is in the perfect location: three blocks from the Q Train DIRECT to NYC. Plus organic supermarket just around the corner, and a great wine bar too. Highly recommend.
Staying in Joshua's apartment was fantastic!! As soon as we arrived Josh was there to welcome us into the place......in which Josh and his wife have filled with creative love and consideration. The character of the space is vibrant and has truly an indivduality that only a New York, Brooklyn apartment should have! Also the neighbourhood is great with such variety off organic food, cafes and resturants.......note: this is great place to stay if ur a celiac and need gluten free goods! iTs close... More »
It was my first visit to New York and it couldn't have been better. Josh and Drew's place is really cozy and cool. It has everything close to it: a mexican restaurant, a very nice place where you can have breakfast, lots of options for organic food enthusiasts, even a barber shop. It is very close to a subway station, so it was very convenient. The room is bigger than it looks in the pictures. The bed is great and it has a spacious closet. Josh and Drew were very courteous and tried to... More »
I took my father (an art teacher and lover) to New York in order to celebrate his retirement. The last place we wanted to stay was in a hotel, as we wanted a little more than 4 walls and two beds. We were looking for a place with character and found it in Josh and Drew's apartment in Brooklyn. They were fantastic hosts and their place was perfect, as it was close to the Q train giving us easy access to lower Manhattan and all of the up and coming areas of Brooklyn, it's decor was charming and... This apartment is in a great neighborhood in Brooklyn with many excellent reastaurants just around the corner. We particularly loved the Farm on Adderly. Transportation to the subway is just a couple of blocks away. The apartment was very spacious and clean. The two beds were a plus for our stay. I would recommend this place to anyone making a trip to New York. One note though is that the apartment is above a bar, and if you are an early sleeper or light sleeper you might have issues... A group of us stayed at Josh and Drew's and had a fantastic time. The apartment is light-filled and feels, very quickly, like home. Josh and Drew were always helpful and friendly and the immediate neighborhood is so good, we didn't even leave it on one of our 4 days in the New York area!
In generale Brooklin è molto bella . Quartiere tranquillo, linea della metro con viaggi frequenti .
Josh and Drew are great hosts, both helpful and friendly. The apartment is in a great location, close to the metro and with great restaurants just outside. We were fortunate to see Drew dance, which was a great experience. authentic diner round the corner too! If you like art, then get the train upstate to Beacon for the day to visit DIA Beacon, its fantastic and journey up the Hudson river is breathtaking. Thanks Josh and Drew.
This was our first Airbnb experience and it was really good. Josh responded to all my questions and concerns honestly and promptly before we arrived and during our stay was super helpful with any questions we had about the subway, taxis, places to eat, even recommending a really cool show! He was really easy to talk to and made us feel very comfortable. The apartment is exactly what you see in the photos and has a lot of artistic charm. The room is small for two people (my husband and I)... More »
It was in the beginning October that we stayed at Josh's and Drew's and it was such a nice place. Those guys are really lovely and help you out where they can. But not only the apartment was nice... It was also the surrounding with its grocery stores, cafes and retsurants that made it the perfect place to stay a couple of days in NYC. Thank you again! Benjamin and Joanna.
This was our first time in NYC and Josh and Drew were very very welcoming hosts. The apartment was a gorgeous, very creative and inspiring place and I couldn't believe how clean and tidy it was! Any questions they had, they answered enthusiatically and really made our transition into NY life very pleasant. It is a lovely area and the bars that were beneath the flat were fun and very vibrant. We would really recommend Mimi's for Brunch, unique middle eastern Restaurant, as well as The Farm for... More »
I came to NYC for a conference and was so lucky to find Josh and Drew place, even though I had to take the train in to Manhattan. They are very nice and helpful. And no lie about the cosy room and the COOL NEIGHBOR HOOD ;o) I loved the little organic store "Natural frontier market" just a few doors away, where I could have my Green Lemon drink in the morning. I highly recommend to stay at Cool Room & Neighborhood:) and hope I will be able to come again someday and maybe get to know the... More »
Josh and Drew are very good hosts. Everything turned out really nice. I can't think of anything that would make me choose differently. I just hope to have a chance to explore Brooklyn nex time. By the way, Mimi's Humus, one of their suggested restaurants, is a great and delicious place.
My friend and I stayed in Joshua's apartment for about a week when we visited NYC for the first time. We had a great experience and are so glad that we chose to stay here! The apartment was so lovely and very clean. The people in the neighborhood were very friendly and it felt safe there, even late at night. The stores got everything we needed and the apartment was close to the subway. It took probably around 25 minutes to Times Square which we thought was quick. We would definitely recommend... More »
The apartment was excellent! There was a bunch of useful information about the neighbourhood which was excellent. There was even a MOMA card to use, which gets one person in for free, and the others for $5 each, saving A LOT! Also, the drinks in the fridge were a nice touch :) The neighbourhood is very safe and full of great places to eat. There is an excellent bar underneath the apartment also. Totally recommended!
We stayed here for a week. The apt (kitchen and bathroom)was really clean and nice. It was easy communicating with Josh. He was very helpfull. There are lot of restaurants and supermarket in neighborhood. The subway is just 2 blocks away and it takes 15 to 20 minutes to Time Square.
Josh & Drew were great hosts, it was good to see NYC from Brooklyn prospective. Easy ride into Manhattan using subway. It was my first time using airbnb so very happy. Highly recommend for someone looking for a unique stay in New York.
We arranged to rent from Josh and Drew for a four day weekend in New York. It was our tenth wedding anniversary, and we wanted to have a different experience than we would get staying in a Manhattan hotel. We were able to rent the entire apartment, as Josh and Drew were going to be in Asia during our stay. They arranged for the keys to be left in the bar near their apartment, and we picked the keys up as arranged with no problem. The bartender in the bar (the Sycamore) don't miss it)... More »
I stayed here for a weekend to attend a wedding. The whole wedding party booked through Airbnb, but for each traveller there was a different (pretty uncomfortable) funny story. I, however, had a perfect stay. The apartment is exactly as described (I was very suprised to find how spacious it is) and everything could not have gone more smoothly. Josh and Drew were very accomadating to my odd arrival time, and everything was very comfortable. I would definitely recommend their apartment, and... More »
Last month, we had the opportunity to stay for three days in Josh & Drew’s apartment on Cortelyou Road and we can’t say enough about how wonderful our stay was, in so many ways. First, we had never used AirBnB before, so we were a tad bit anxious and uncertain as to what to expect. But from the start Josh was helpful, prompt and congenial in his communications, even though he was writing from the other side of the globe. We are so glad that Josh & Drew’s apartment was our inaugural stay... More »
Staying with Josh and Drew in their Brooklyn apartment was the perfect base for the weeklong stay my friend and I were having in NYC. Josh was there to greet us upon our arrival, and showed us around the flat, inviting us to use the common spaces (lounge, kitchen) as well. He provided maps and a print-out identifying recommended places to eat in the area. The apartment was a quick walk to the Subway station, where we caught the Q line daily. We tried several places for breakfast between... More »
Josh and Drew were very friendly, and told me all about th area. And their flat had lots of character. But th club/bar downstairs was noisy, right through to 2am,. and cars/motorbikes were noisy, right to 2.30. Then th noise of car horns started up again at 7am. So, a mixed experience. It would have been nice to know about these things before booking.
I think our experience completely corresponds with al the other reviews I have read here. The hosts: Josh and Drew (although I never met them in person as they were on a holiday themselves) are clearly two very nice, warm, welcoming, caring, involved hosts. They reply very quickly and will answer every question you might have. They are also really flexible and helpful iif you have any special wishes like in our case a late check-out. The apt: is great just like the pictures on... More »
What a great apartment in a wonderful neighborhood. We stayed 3 nights and enoyed it all. The N & Q train into the city was only 3 blocks away, there are several bakeries and restaurants in the area and the apartment itself is quaint and artsy and very functional. Josh was out of town during our stay but he was in constant communication and made us feel very welcome. We loved our stay and highly recommend it to anyone who wants a sweet taste of Brooklyn and the NYC experience.
The apartment is charming, with a very welcoming and nice atmosphere. The decoration is fantastic. We really felt at home. The neighbourhood is very nice too, with all what you need: organic shops, very nice restaurants and coffee shops, all kind of shops open late ... It's very close to the train station (be careful, B train is not in service neither on sunday nor after 9 pm). You have also express buses direct to Manhattan just in front of the house (we used them once and it was... More »
Neat area and charming appartment! Ill definately stay here again. Thank you Josh and Drew!
Cortelyou Road is a good, safe location with excellent restaurants and convenient grocery, drugstore and bodegas. The Q train is just a few blocks away and gets to Manhattan in about a half hour. Josh's apartment is spacious and clean, with eclectic decor and a really comfortable bed. The 48 stairs or so up to the apartment are not too taxing, but it definitely was easier going down than up! It was nice to have a refrigerator. The shower is adequate. The price is right. Generally... More »
The apartment was clean and tidy and very convenient for taking advantage of the Ditmas Park community and traveling around town since the train was only 3 blocks away. Lots of fun art and electic furnishings make the apt. a comfortable place to hang out. The street has a lot of nice restaurants, cafes, grocery stores and bars. A great place to stay in Brooklyn.
We stayed in this beautiful apartment for five nights - it is amazing: spacious, comfortable and full of lovely design touches, and the street it is on is full of great little bars, cafes and restaurants. Josh and Drew were really helpful from start to finish, and we would totally recommend renting their apartment. One thing - it's quite a way into Manhattan, but then when Brooklyn is this cool, who minds anyway?
Josh and Drew are great hosts and interesting people to talk with. The apartment is convenient, cozy and immaculately clean. We spent a comfortable week there, just around the corner from our new twin grand-daughters
Beautiful apartment just like the photos, in a very cool neighbourhood, close to the subway and very convenient for restaurants. The Farm on Adderley was in the boxed text of the lonely planet guide and was well worth the visit. As per other comments, Josh was extremely easy to contact during our stay. I would highly recommend people to stay here and have mentioned it to many friends already!
What a fantastic apartment and great neighborhood! First the apartment: it is an artist's studio and living space; lots of room, interesting books, good kitchen, and the most comfortable bed. The neighborhood: in three short blocks, between Coney Island Avenue and Ocean Park Avenue, there are two organic grocery stores (one is a large co-op), a fantastic locally owned coffee shop(Quafar), a bagel shop and five or six upscale but not too expensive restaurants and bars. Also, a greenmarket... More »
Josh's place was the best! No trouble finding the place and getting around. Josh made it real easy with a list of local places to go and there were also maps and books about NYC/Brooklyn to use as well. Funky funky place so comfortable and art everywhere. The commute into Manhattan can take a little while but it's nice to be away from the hustle and bustle and there are lot's of place to see in brooklyn anyway. Thanks Josh!
This apt is as advertised- very cool, very cute. The street is amazing with lots of cafés, bars and restaurants which make starting the day off with brunch, or stumbling home after dinner, really pleasant. Overall, we had a good stay and would recommend it- affordable, close to the subway, and Joshua is very prompt in replying to emails and concerns. There was one issue that caused some annoyance, however. We had an exchange before I booked the apt about noise because I am a light sleeper... More »
Josh and Drew were very gracious hosts even though I was very late in getting to the apartment. Their apartment is gorgeous! It felt like home for the week that my friends and I were there. I would definitely reccomend their place to anyone travelling to New York.
I had a nice 3-day-stay at Joshua's home. Nice location, easy to find and the apartment was cozy. Thanks to Joshua and Drew for beeing such friendly hosts. I would stay there again. :)

Josh was great to work with. Lovely apartment in the midst of the action in Ditmas Park. I will be staying with Josh and Drew again. THANKS.
Joshua was a lovely considerate host, even though he was away at the time. I would recommend his apartment - it really is lovely!
My girlfriend and I stayed here for 4 nights and it was a really great experience. It was our first time overseas and first time using airbnb, and we can't wait to do it again. Josh was really friendly and the apartment was awesome. As a young couple, we found it a lot better than staying in a hotel (which we did the first couple nights here). If you want to see Brooklyn (fantastic neighborhood) while still being close to manhattan (short train ride), this is the perfect place.
This was the first time my friend Sam and I used airbnb and it was a great experience. The apartment was warm and inviting; with its location near the Q train quite easy to get to and from Manhattan. Josh and Drew were fab hosts, even able to accommodate us for an additional two days at the end of our stay.We stayed for about two weeks during this time Josh was accessible via and email and phone to answer any questions we may have had. We would recommend this place to anybody.
It was great to get to NY with my family after a 10 hour car ride, and Joshua's place waiting for us ! He had prepared our arrival with many details, before and after the official unlocking of his door for three days. The clean apartment was at a nice temperature with the AC on, and we were happy for it. It is well situated, near the subway, which made our visit simpler and better. Left the car nearby, didn't have any problems finding a spot. Joshua understands that food and a roof... More »
Wonderful hosts who were very accommadating to my needs. Comfortable and clean; I had the coolest room during the heatwave earlier in the week. Nice combination of privacy and contact; Josh provides ideas on where to eat and how to get to know the neighborhood. Easy commute to the city on express train and safe short walk to the station. Thanks for the special touches like great coffee in the morning. I would return in a heart beat!
My boyfriend and I stayed with Josh and Drew for three nights last week: their apartment was lovely (!!!) and the bedroom was air-conditioned (given that it was ~ 90F, this was useful), and they were lovely (!!!) as well. The neighbourhood made me desperately nostalgic for East London--it has the same wonderful confluence of 24-hour convenience stores + fabulous restaurants + arty/neighbourhood-y feel. We spent nearly all of our time out and about--the commute to Manhattan on the Q... More »
I can't say enough great things about both the apartment and Joshua. The apartment itself was amazing. The photos here can't do it justice. It is conveniently located close to the subway, as well as a plethora of great bars and restaurants right outside the door. Upon my arrival, Joshua was there to meet us, giving us a rundown of both the apartment, the surrounding area and greater New York. He had written up a guide to the local restaurants and cafes, which came in extremely handy.... More »
The apartment was fantastic, very convenient to the subway and with lots of food & drink options right downstairs. The Sycamore, The Farm, Connecticut Muffin, Pop Vox, and the corner grocer with his pastrami bagels all kept us well fed and fueled! Thanks for everything!
Josh and Drew were truly suberb hosts and the apartment every bit as AMAZING as the pictures show! The neighbourhood was also spectacular with lots of great bars and restaurants. Josh was incredibly helpful and generous, he let us borrow his MoMA-pass and gave lots of good tips about stuff to do in NY (the Le Parker Meridian-burger is still the best I've ever had and Dream Hotels was like being in Sweet Smell of Success). Me and my friend Fredrik stayed a full month in Brooklyn and had the... More »

Joshua and Drew were superb hosts. Their apartment is incredibly cozy and well situated in a very trendy part of brooklyn. It is conveniently located near the Q train (about a 15 minute ride to Union Square). Everything about my stay in their place was absolutely perfect. I stayed for 3 weeks while I got on my feet in NYC. Payment was a painless, and I always felt peace when I walked through the door into their apartment. I HIGHLY recommend staying here.
Joshua sure was a great guest. Friendly and considerate, he took great care of the apartment and left it in great condition. Thanks for your visit, Joshua, and we hope to see you again soon in Berlin!
October 2010Trustworthy and generous are words that come to mind when thinking of describing Josh. On many occasions he has offered his time and help to me and has always been reliable. WIth a warm, comfortable New York CIty apartment with artistic character, you will be close enough to the centre yet far enough to retreat from the chaos. I highly recommend it. Alex is a Friend January 2012As one host to another, I've gotten to know Josh pretty well and there aren't enough good things that I can say about him. He's a great, nice guy and an amazing and seasoned host. It's not by luck that he's a SuperHost! He's got an amazing eye for design which is why his spaces are so cool and anyone would be super lucky to be hosted by him. His wife is also a really love lady--sweet as pie!
Julie is a FriendJosh is a great guy and their apartment is a lot of fun. I'd take advantage of this rental if I were you.
Ryan is a FriendJosh and Drew know cozy, quirky, cool and sophisticated like few people do. The atmosphere they've created is human in the creative sense, warm, luxurious, inventive, light-filled, clean, and (dare I mention) filled with love. Yes, you can feel the love. It's tangible. The type of tangible that makes me want to move to New York. Tell anyone in the neighborhood you know Josh and Drew, and you'll likely get drinks for free.
