Stayed in this 1 bedroom "Zen Escape" for about 4 weeks and enjoyed every minute of it. I'd recommend this spot for anyone who plans to entertain guests. Great location in the hills of Beachwood Canyon where its nice a quite, but also just a quick drive down the street to get to wherever you need in the Hollywood area. Henry was more than helpful with anything and everything i needed during my stay. I have no hesitation in booking this property again next time i'm in Los Angeles.

Absolutely loved this place. I stayed here for month so that I could get reacquainted in the LA area after an extensive temporary relocation assignment. Needless to say, I didnt want to leave. Family and friends alike enjoyed visiting and the view is amazing. Henry was very friendly and accommodating. No need is left unmet. Style, function and hospitality reign at this peaceful hideaway in the Hollywood Hills. I needed both an escape and a place to recover from hard days work, and my stay at Juanes House gave me just that. I was met with candles lit and white wine on ice. When I worried about the coyotes a larger fence was immediately installed. Henry even dropped by to play with my dog when I couldn't make it home in time from work. All done with a gracious smile. Great location, beautifully appointed apartments and Henry is a great guy who goes out of his way to make your life as easy as possible. I stayed in three different apartments during my stay and they are all equally charming and comfortable, it's self catering and there are no real amenities that you'd get from a hotel so be prepared to look after yourself, it's a fantastic environment to be in independent in. Robert and Henry have created a perfect retreat in the hills that soothes the soul. The pictures speak volumes about the care and respect they have for design, architecture, and space. Henry treated us like old friends coming back to visit; their generosity and attitudes were welcoming and authentic. We had such an amazing experience and are looking forward to staying with R + H again.

Bamboo Retreats is the perfect place to relax in LA. The view on the hills is amazing. It feels just amazing after a week in a random hotel house. Henry has been very friendly and helpful to us though never inquisitive. We would love to come back.

My experience at Henry and Robert retreat was very nice. They were very warm and friendly. The location is at a perfect spot, very quiet but also at 10 mn of restaurant club etc... I definitly recommand this retreat, and i will definitly come back! :)

Robert et Henry sont supers! Accueil très chaleureux dès notre arrivée, beaucoup d'indications et une aide constante quoi qu'il arrive. Vous pouvez venir les mains dans les poches, votre guide pour planifier vos sorties est la personne qui vous acceuille dans un endroit vraiment calme et très fonhctionnel. Avec plaisir j'en ferais ma dépendance!

I booked a 3 night stay with Robert+Henry to get some R&R and I am completely satisfied. I even enjoyed the booking process because when the original room I wanted was booked, they conveniently offered another available room no problem. The 1 bedroom studio was perfect, from the kitchen where I could cook my meals, to the deck where I could eat while taking in the view of the Hollywood Hills. I am grateful Henry for being so welcoming and accommodating.

so..after 55 years of searching for the best airBnB had to offer in LA, I can now stop. Rest assured, if you book a private residence at Robert and Henry's you will have found a home away from home. I am having withdrawal symptoms having left ' My' apartment and balcony in bamboo retreats. Was only there for 3 nights but loved every minute and felt totally at home. The view is utterly beautiful, the apartment gorgeous and Henry was so helpful and LOVELY ( Robert too, but didn't get to see him as much) Leo the dog was a adorable companion at times too. Go Go Go... its the place to be... just not the same time I want to! ; )

Had a wonderful stay in Los Angeles-- the property was great, quiet, and really lived up to my expectations. They have a variety of spaces... I was there for 3 weeks in a studio, and will definitely be going back!!

Staying at Bamboo was a very pleasant change from the typical LA lodging experience. It's a tranquil and pleasant gem in the Hollywood hills. Henry was awesome getting us set up and then all that was left was to simply enjoy the place. My only regret about the stay is that I spent too much time during the day out in LA and not enough time lounging about the retreat. I will be back!

My family came to visit us from Europe for the birth of our first child. Since we couldn't accommodate them all in our home, we wanted to make sure they stayed somewhere beautiful and cosy. So we got them a 2-bedroom suite with Host Henry and Robert. It was spectacular. They loved their stay and Henry could not have been more helpful and welcoming. I would recommend this place to everyone who wants to have the perfect L.A stay.

This was certainly a pleasant alternative to a typical hotel experience. Easily accessible, and close to everything, while maintaing a secluded and removed feel. After long and busy days, it was easy to achieve a certain amount of blessed relief upon returning to the property. as soon as we arrived, my husband was instantly happy and relaxed. usually he is very grumpy after traveling for so long. and my little dog had a great big smile when he saw we had our own personal patio on the hillside. the room had everything we needed to be cozy and comfortable during our 5-night stay. henry the host was very nice and offered anything we wanted but left us in peace to enjoy our retreat. we have already recommended this spot to our friends, and we will return for... There are many places in this world that strive to maintain perfection, but Bamboo does it with such ease and grace I almost feel sorry for it's neighbouring competitors. The zen space maintains such a free spirit in idyllic surroundings with a beautiful pool to warm the soul after a very active day. The rooms define the word luxury and the local food parallels this. Beyond beautiful! 5 stars! This property surpassed my expectations. I stayed at the property for 3 nights during the first week of May 2010. Although the profile pictures are accurate, they still don't do it justice. I was overwhelmed by the beauty of the property and bamboo gardens. The finishes and furnishings are so well appointed.
