I'm trained as a city planner and civil engineer and enjoy mountain biking, skiing and travel. I started a consulting firm that builds websites for city planning and transportation. We specialize in sites with maps and open data.
I used to work for an airline and got to do a lot of traveling, my most exciting trip was from Singapore to Beijing all via land for 4 months.
I'm also an airbnb host in SF - I've been hosting guests in my live/work space since 2009. One of my roommates is a designer at airbnb as well, its a great service.
Loved staying here. Handy location, and cool set-up. Nice helpful people too! So many people living here I think I only met about half of them, but was nice to get tips and suggestions on things to do and see, and have someone to chat to when I returned of an evening. I'd definitely stay here again if they'd have me ;) Many thanks! and another thank you and farewell to the few housemates I didn't get to see on my last day. Cheers .
September 2009Really nice people with helpful advice about getting around the city. The location is great and the warehouse is a unique experience. Our bed was very comfy. Loaner bikes are available which is cool. Only negative was the dirty bathroom. I'm no germaphobe, but it kind of gave me the creeps.
The place was really awesome and the people were too. We had a great time and I would definitely repeat the experience in the future.
Excellent hosts, a real party atmosphere with lots of cool people. I ended up wishing I hadn't already organised all my time in San Francisco because the house was full of interesting people all the time! The location was excellent, the net was comfy, and the people were excellent. I'd rather stay in the warehouse than anywhere else!
The warehouse has a very cool and creative environment. I had the opportunity of getting to know most of the inhabitants fairly well and I can vouch that they are all unique and awesome individuals. If you're looking for a memorable experience, I would definitely recommend staying at the warehouse.
Great place, nicest people, attractive neighborhood. I've spent 5 nights. Two nights in a bed room and the rest on the net. Though I had to do my writing job at night, there was everything I needed. Why bother staying in a hotel alone when you can have so much fun with locals? Hanging around with them, I truely had a great experience since I'm from Tokyo, Japan and there's no way I could have known people like them! Thank you, Brendan!
great location in the mission and really cool, friendly people. the space has tons of amenities as well far beyond free wifi. thanks Brendan!
My 2nd experience staying at the warehouse was just as good as the first!
absolutely fantastic place. people are ultra cool, location couldn't be any better. lots of space to work or hang out. access to so many amenities that you would pay out the nose for elsewhere.
This place has everything going for it - the people are super-friendly, the space is really fun and interesting as you can see from the pictures here, and the location close to BART or for getting out of town by car is great. We needed space to work and that was fine too with wifi, a desk and a printer.
Great spot... plenty of space to work or just hang out. Location next to BART and organic Co-Op is awesome. Everyone in the house is super cool... would stay again for sure. Thanks!
We had a great time, the flat is great and the area is nice to visit. Thanks Brendan
great group of people, great pad, stay here
Who needs a hotel when this place has friendly people, a fantastic location, big bouncy nets you can hang out on, a swinging couch, a sweet Wii with Guitar Hero and Rock Band, fast wifi, printers, loaner bikes and all the gadgetry you could ever want.
What an awesome group of people! Need WiFi? Want a beer? Need to print something? It was like being part of the family at Brendan's place! Glad to have stayed there and hope to be back again! And, if you couldn't tell, it's a very easy place to get to and there's lots of food around.
The friendliest, most welcoming, madcap converted autoshop with industrial strength wifi this side of the international dateline. Truely a welcome oasis of insanity in a swirling ocean of weird. Just go easy on the punch! If you want to stay in the heart of the action, in great company, and in downright inspirtional accomodation, this is it. No question.
Brendan's place rules. Strong wifi, cool hosts, sweet location = stay there.
perfect place for the 3 of us to catch up, go out for endless mexican, take the funky old tandem bike out for a sunny picnic along the water, come back and chill out, then hop along for the ride to whatever's happening in the neighbourhood... Brendan and the gang are great hosts and have created a fab space - just what we needed. thanks everyone
Really cool group of people! If you want room service and a cushy hotel, you are in the wrong place! If you wanna stay somewhere unlike anywhere else, hanging around with a cornucopia of different and creative personalities and a totally unique atmosphere, then this is the place for you! The gang was really helpful with any city related questions and they are actually really good San Francisco historians on top of it. If in need of computer tech support during your visit, you can't be at a... More »
very nice and hospitable people :) gave us some great info on the best places to get munchies and fun places to visit while in san francisco! also met other fun vistors staying at the warehouse too. we're glad we stayed here instead of an impersonal hotel. only caveat: it's a really a warehouse! the interior is a bit rough but interesting (i believe the people who live there built it themselves!) and it was a bit drafty and chilly for us southern californians. we would come back brendan's... I stayed in the warehouse for a week and ♥'d every minute of it! Brendan & the rest of the house were very friendly, welcoming and helpful. Thanks to their hospitality I can check off these on my to-do list: sipping rum on a tall ship & listening to sea chanty songs & even a picnic shabbat in Dolores Park. Bike riding is a great way to explore the city... with city planners on hand to map your route and an endless supply of bicycles, you will have a blast! The Mission District is a also a... More »
My girlfriend and I had an awesome stay in the warehouse. Brendan was a great host and so were all the other people that live there. Going out with them was a true pleasure and a really nice experience. You should stay there. The area is awesome (you must have brunch at San Francis on the 24th). They gave us bikes so we could explore the area. The loft is neat, cosy and amazingly well decorated. I would recommend it to anyone willing to spend a few nights in San Francisco. Way better than a... More »
Brendan and everyone else are awesome friendly people and were incredibly accommodating. He even spent time showing me a map of the city and some places I might like to check out. They have a really great space and even with a dozen people there, it all worked harmoniously. I'll definitely be back next time I'm in SF!
Great location for exploring such a fantastic city. Everyone in the house was very friendly and welcoming. Everyone in the house is very informative when it comes to ideas for places to visit. If you want to get around by bike then I am sure Brendan will happily sort you out. The loft itself is filled with lots of interesting artifacts that will be sure to grab your attention. I loved the hearts...I hope they remain!
had a great time at the warehouse. loved the people and the whole vibe - we went to the beach and made a bonfire on the first weekend. i'll definitely invite them next time i throw a party!
GREAT guest. Welcomed back anytime. Thanks!
October 2011You will never find anywhere else like this to stay! They even have a swinging couch. It's in a great location and all the people in the house are fun.
