MIT, UC Berkeley
I'm a Transportation Engineer in San Francisco. I went to UC Berkeley for grad school, MIT for undergrad. Originally from NYC, the Bay Area has me hooked now!
Our house has a wide array of roommates from a lobster salesmen to law students with a healthy dose of tech geeks.
Brian and I had a fabulous time in SF. We were there for the Sea of Dreams New Year's concert- which was less than a mile walk from the Warehouse (Live/work incubator). We were close to friends, great places to eat (loved Radish), and close to the BART station. The people at the space were super friendly- they welcomed us in to their space and invited us to their New Year's celebration. It was a fun space to stay in for our visit- much more unique than any hostel or hotel. We were busy doing... More »
January 2012We really enjoyed our stay at the live/work mission startup incubator. unfortunately we were so busy we didn't get to spend much time at the live/work, but when we were there, everyone was very accommodating. when we go back to sf, we'll most likely stay there again if its available! thanks Laura and everyone! :)
This is a really unique space, and definitely has the potential to be an awesome AirBnB experience. From the other reviews for this place, some folks have obviously had a great time here. Unfortunately, our experience wasn't as good. We arrived on Sunday afternoon, and were let in by someone other than Laura who showed us where our beds were, disappeared - and that was it. We were left standing in the corridor for a while before we sought out Laura, who we found in the kitchen. We... More »
A truly amazing place. Both, great working and chill-out atmosphere. Staying here became an integral part of our whole SF experience.
Very unique experience. Got a real feel for the neighborhood!
An awesome experience. This was my first time doing Airbnb and it was incredibly simple and fun. Everyone was really friendly and was willing to just hang out and chat with you. My friend stayed in one of the capsules (an overflow sleeping area for people that's pretty cheap) and I stayed in a room. He's pretty tall and he said he was fairly comfortable in the capsule, so definitely a good call if you're traveling with a friend on a budget. I will definitely stay here again.
My stay here was absolutely grand! Lovely people to have great conversations with. And they have a suspended couch! I'll definitely come back if when I visit SF again!
My stay was an absolute joy-- the place is beyond cool, and every time I came back home, there were great people around (although I had plenty of privacy, as well.) The folks who live there went out of their way to be hospitable and helpful-- and very kindly helped me navigate transit, and suggested some fun stuff in the neighborhood. And everyone was just really friendly and interesting, so you can't ask for more than that. Definitely a unique and welcoming place-- I hope to stay... More »
Super cool place to stay! Flexible, easy, you can make yourself right at home. Lots of interesting people coming and going.
Thanks for having us Laura, this is a crazy set up you guys have going and we enjoyed every minute of it!
Exactly as described. Perfect if you're looking for some unique randomness on your trip. Everyone was really nice and helpful. Wish I could've hung out more. Can't beat the location. Thanks y'all.
Thanks for having us Laura, this is a crazy set up you guys have going and we enjoyed every minute of it!
Truly a unique experience, highly recommended!
Awesome shared working and living space. Only spent a day there, but already felt right at home.
Laura and the warehouse gang have been great hosts. Due to their awesome location they have a lot of guest traffic but they still make sure that you feel really special! We had great chats, played lots of mario kart in their cinema and were able to set up our own desk amongst the others. I can highly recommend this place!
This place is amazing! People who are looking for a perfect work/live combination in one place should definitely go there. The spirit of young entrepreneurship paired with cool and friendly people was a great experience. And Laura has a handle on the "wild" crowd ;). The entire residence was uncomplicated and pleasant! I´ll visit again.
great space, great people, highly recommended.
Great environment with fun and friendly hosts who were really generous with their time and energy. They were happy to chat about Mission and San Fran in general and invited us to join their home cooked dinners and drinks, which we very much appreciated.
I had a great time at Laura's place. All the guys are extremely friendly hosts and the apartment is fantastic and inspiring. They've been very welcome waiting for me very late in the evening in my arriving day and very helpfull in any request. I would definitely recommend it!
Extremely cool place to live and work. Totally enjoyed staying here.
Nice location and a warm place to stay.
We were a group of 3 and overall had a good stay. One of my friends stayed in one of the capsules, or enclosed bunk bed, that were available and slept well. The place is really cluttered but clean. Nice location and friendly people. It was great to have WiFi available. Got some great sightseeing tips from one of the hosts and from one of their mom that was visiting.
I didn't get to talk to Laura much, but I loved meeting all of the people living in the incubator. My host was Steve, and he is totally awesome! One of the goals of my trip is to study tech start-ups for my doctoral dissertation. He introduced me to the gang and is very knowledge of the start-up scene. I definitely plan to keep in touch with these guys in the future.
Staying at the incubator is a unique experience. It is everything you would hope an artsy, geeky, crash/office/community space would be. I met some very interesting fellow guests who work in my industry and enjoyed hanging out with the residents as well. I would certainly stay again.
Booked last minute for a business trip. Great alternative to typical boring and expensive hotels. Solid wifi, and friendly people. I look forward to coming back.
Spend a week here. Convenient location. Took the BART from airport to 16th & Mission - from there is a 5 minute walk. The house lent me a bicycle which helped me get around locally and I was able to use BART and CALTRAIN to get around various parts of the city and down to Silicon Valley. I was doing work in the evenings out of the house and needed wifi connectivity- The house has numerous Wifi connections with essentially 100% uptime. Great creative environment to work/stay- loved talking... More »
Like nothing I've ever seen before. Wish I could have stayed longer. Should be in the tourist guide books if you are geek.
By far one of the coolest experiences of my adventure! This place is off the charts and as long as it's what you are looking for...you're not going to find anything else like it! One of a kind and just an amazing group of folks involved.
We had a great stay at the Startup Incubator. Although we didn't meet Laura in person we met some interesting people there and as we we planned a road trip they were very helpful and keen to share some great tips where to go. One day they recommanded to take the bikes to explore the city and we especially enjoyed SF that way!
Staying at the mission incubator was so much fun! there are nets with teddy bears to play in and theater that shows hd nature videos. Everyone was friendly and helpful. We loved it.
Super cool location. They turned an old warehouse into a startup paradise. Even cooler than the location are the people living there. Besides talking about their startup projects you might have the chance to participate in one of their daily MarioCart competitions. Everyone is super friendly and you can ask them for advice, if you need to know how to get around the city, find an US phone number, find a long-term accomodation - you name it...
Positive friendly vibe, old school urban commune feel. Rooms small and basic but you get a tiki bar and a movie theatre and great location that more than makes up for that. I wish this crew the best of luck.
Thanks to Laura, Steve, and everyone else at the Live/Work Incubator, we had a great welcome to San Francisco. We especially appreciated their flexibility when we needed to leave early. Thanks guys!
It was great staying at the Incubator. Very cool place with a great team of very friendly people Everything is there from the room to the wireless, the Tiki bar and the fun. I really also enjoyed having a bycicle available. It's very convenient in SF I had great conversations with the other roomates and they were very helpful when I asked questions. Thanks to Steve, John, Devon, Matt, "wee" and all of you
I was looking for a nice, central place in the Mission where I could get some work done, while being close enough to the action to see all my friends and get out and about. This was the perfect place - great position, good connection, plenty of friendly faces, and a quirky space. I even got home-baked cookies and a late evening check-out. Needless to say I didn't get done quite as much work as I hoped.
unique place, nice people! i felt myself at home from the first moment. my only regret was that i could only stay there for a couple of days...
amazing place! it's totally DIY artist/hacker style but that's the draw for me, as well as the very friendly hosts and lauras home made bread also they have loaner bikes! big thumbs up can't wait to go back :)
Everything was excellent. Would definitely stay there again the next time I'm in town.
Really great place and everyone was super friendly - even helping with my IT problems during my stay. Sadly I was so busy outside of the accommodation that I didn't get to fully enjoy the swinging couch or Tiki bar to their full potential, but I did get to prove that I'm rubbish at Mario Kart! Would definitely stay here again, it's a great space and getting everywhere from here was easy peasy. Thanks guys!
Fantastic, interesting people. Great to have a drink with and talk shop (most are techies). They also play a mean game of Kart.
Definitely a unique experience. All the guys/girls that live here are very friendly and helpful - there were initially some coordination issues regarding our rooms, etc. but the hosts were on top of it and saw it through to make sure we had everything we needed. They also had bikes available for use, which was really useful to get around the Mission. Met some really interesting people and had some great conversations!
It was great! No really...
Laura and friends at the Mission Incubator are individually and collectively brilliant, a great mix of interests and personalities. The space is comfortable for sleeping and great for live/working, all at a good location in the Mission.
I loved this place- wish I were staying longer! Thanks guys!
Incredible experience with fellow minded startup people! You'll fit in immediately and have cozy/fun times. Very convenient to get some work done, chill and crash. I absolutely recommend this place to all of my friends and would def. like to visit here again. Selcuk
I only lived there for a night and it was nice. It's an urban camping with a lot of people around, it is probably more enjoyable if you spend there a longer time. I've been shown beautiful planet earth documentaries :)
Had a great 6 day stay at the warehouse. If you want something different than the run of the mill hotel experience, you may find yourself at home here. A great and interesting space with some terrific people. I loved the community vibe here! Everyone was very helpful and friendly, answering my many questions about the city from restaurant recommendations to transportation questions. Clean room and bathrooms, too. And the bed, so comfortable. If you're adventurous and comfortable... More »
Liked the people & the convenient location close to BART. Pictures are accurate and will give you a good idea.
not a 4-star hotel, but the people more than make up for it. definitely would stay there again. if you're a light sleeper and don't fit with the patterns of the majority you may have problems from the buzz of the hive. good community. i need to practice my mario kart before the next time i stay.
this is a GREAT place with GREAT people! Didn't get to meet Laura, but did meet some of her housmates. They were frendly and accomodating. Showed me the lay of the land, gave me a key and told me to make my self at home. Came in at night with a business party going on; was invited to stay, while I waited for my sheets to dry! Nice people, would stay there again, Marnee
If you're visiting San Francisco to live / work for a week or two, this is perfect! It's exactly as advertised. It's a stimulating, interesting space, with excellent desk and wifi facilities. There are lots of interesting people and if you're into tech you'll have some great conversations as you get to know the people living here. It can be noisy late into the evenings - if you like to turn in at 9PM, this probably isn't for you. The two bathrooms get a beating from the large number... More »
A super awesome space :) Friendly people and delicious cat-5 cable upstairs for when I wanted to plug in.
Everything was good. Thank you.
Unique space in a fun area. Laura, John and others were good hosts, answering my questions and providing recommendations. Only minor issue is that the bathroom on the lower level is cramped and not especially clean.
stayed 2 nights after a trip to a conferencce in Vegas and was suprised of this place it is awesome unique! the people were so friendly and took me out to a Juri Gagarin Party (which was lame but anyhow) got to know my first Burrito and had a lot of intersteing talks with the guys living and working there. must see place if you are into tech and burningman alike travelling
Staying @ the warehouse is a real experience, above all for foreigners. There are no such crazy places in Europe and we really enjoyed to be in the heart of this amazing incubator. You just can't believe this place exists: the set up is great, there are nice ideas all over the place, the decoration is creative and fun but above all, what makes the difference is the extremely nice welcome of the housemates. In one hour we knew where to find the best restaurants, taquerias, bars, grocery... More »
Great hosts, awesome setup...enough said!
I had a great stay in San Francisco - thanks!!
Very interesting place packed to the brim with interesting people!
The location is beautiful and the people are really friendly. Because a lot of people live there it was a little noisy in our room (music playing early in the morning one day), but the great folk make up for it.
Laura and the rest of the gang were excellent hosts. The whole environment is welcoming, and the location is great - right in the heart of the mission, and a few minutes away from the 14 bus which takes you downtown towards the ferry building and museums. Comfortable beds, clean space, and a positive atmosphere. Highly recommended for a trip to SF.
The people here are seriously awesome I had a great time with everyone there and learned way more than I ever imagined to, if you come here don't be shy -- everyone here has something interesting to say. The same goes for the place -- I can't begin to describe what an amazing job Laura and her roomates have done. There's a sound proof theater where Mario Kart action occurs, tiki bar, a geeks dream LED coffee table, netting where you can be comforted by stuffed objects and stare at a real... More »
This place was incredible! My only disappointment was that I couldn't stay there longer... I would easily go back in a drop of a second! From the beginning, Laura was soo helpful w directions & responses, when I got there I was greeted & given a tour and offered a beer! I couldn't have asked for a better stay! It reminded me of the most friendliest co-op... add a Tizi Bar, Beer, Lounge, Movie Room and the best location ever for eateries, bars, clubs... To make it even better... the bathroom... More »
What a cool place! Without question one of the most interesting apartments I've ever stayed at, and Laura and her friends are great hosts. Don't hesitate to stay here if you're in SF, especially if you're into startups, coding, etc. Also, be sure to challenge the hosts in Mario Kart — great fun!
The people are really cool. I've stayed here twice already and always had a great time.
I had a fantastic time here! Cool space, location, people. A great find. Thanks.
Laura and I were on different schedules most of my trip, so we didn't cross paths much, but her roommates we're hospitable, funny and frighteningly good at Mario Kart. The warehouse was massive with plenty of places to work or relax and it seemed like any time of the day or night there was something to do. My bedroom was quiet, a good distance from the living space. I highly recommend a visit. If I have a complaint, it's that their version of Mario Kart Wii appears to be rigged to reward... More »
We stayed at the warehouse for the very first week in San Francisco. The setup these guys have is phenomenal! I would love to spend more time there. The pictures and description are quite mellow compared to how it awesome the place actually is.
Laura and her roommates are very relaxed and nice! It was a pleasure staying with them.
Cool place.
Very very interesting place to stay. The people there are very friendly. I really wish I could have hung out around the place more. I really liked the fact that there are bicycles that you can borrow. I would stay there again!
Excellent, as always! I'll definitely be back.
Well this was awesome. Totally unique (in a good way) space in the best possible location, full of friendly people and amusing surprises (like a room-to-room theme party the last night of our stay). We loved it here. Such great peeps and amazing neighbourhood. A++++

This is perhaps one of the coolest places to stay in the Mission, if not San Francisco proper. It's very close to the 16th St. BART and near a lot of great taquerias. The people in the house are incredibly welcoming and friendly, they all work in tech in the area and have some excellent suggestions for food and other things to do in the Mission. I don't think I could have picked a better first Airbnb experience.
This is a really unusual and fun space for hackers and technology geeks. They lent me a bicycle, which was great, and I rode it over the Golden Gate bridge into Sausalito. The space is heavily customized with lots of fun goodies like pinball, a movie theater, a swinging couch, etc. This is definitely not "just a room" and if you are looking for just a typical place to stay, then this is not for you. There are lots of people here and lots of activity. However, if you are into the big... More »
We were mostly out in San Francisco and rarely in the house. When we were there, though, it was great! We had a few really good conversations and felt welcome the entire time. If you're looking for a place to connect with people, this is it!
I think the place is a good break for those who want to do something different then staying in the normal hotel changes. A bit of an adventure and the home theatre system is impressive. Laura was nice, did not see her much but her roommates were welcoming. Great way to network as well. Considering another trip and recommend it to friends.
Wow what a stay! Forget hotels or bnb If you want to live the real San Francisco experience this is where you need to start. Everyone in the house is open minded, helpful and super friendly. They ll give you loads of tips on where to go eat, the places to see, best ways to get around the city. I was lucky to stay there for my first week in San Francisco and I ll suggest staying there to anyone eager to discover and learn everything about San Francisco with people that LOVE the city. Awesome techie house, really cool people and environment. Would definitely go back!
Everyone was very friendly and fun to talk to. The location is two blocks from BART. The place is what you'd expect from the description - an out-of-the-ordinary set up where 8 or so smart, likable under-30's live and work.
Most awesome warehouse ever, they've got hammocks everywhere and an infinity table!
Laura and everyone were good hosts. They made me feel like a roommate living in San Francisco.
The warehouse was decorated in a really cool eclectic way, and everyone was very polite. The neighborhood was a little sketchy, but it was easy to access the rest of the city by BART. Laura was very kind and sent me something I had forgotten during my trip, which I really appreciated. To be honest, this place reminded me a little of staying in a hostel, but a very nice hostel with your own room. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a fun and interesting experience!
Didn't get to meet Laura, but her roommates were great and made me feel at home in their space.
Very nice, accommodating, flexible people. Cool space. Thank you!
This space is amazing! It's a really unique experience to stay there, filled with interesting people, cool design, tons to do, definitely recommended. I only wish we'd been able to stay longer!
Awesome fun layout - like a playground for adults. Everyone was friendly, we were allowed the use of their orange bikes (which rocked!) and the room was tidy. The only negative is that it was cold (no heating) but oh well - the internet was fast and there was no checkout time so that made up for it. We would definitely return - thanks for the last minute room Laura!
Great place and great people. After you see the private cinema and play Mario Kart on it you will never want to leave.
Great hosts and a great place. A perfect base for discovering San Francisco and especially the Mission district.
This was my first time using airbnb and it was a great experience. Laura was super responsive and very accommodating. Its a fun and friendly group of residents at this house. The highlight was playing 4 player mario kart in their mini movie theater.
Had a fantastic stay at the warehouse. Everyone was super welcoming and I enjoyed hanging out with them. I would definitely stay here again.
Great as always!
As always, staying with Laura and crew is an amazing time. Can't way til I'm back!!!
Had a great time staying in Laura's weird and wonderful San Francisco warehouse conversion. Great location with easy BART access and a short walk to lots of things to see, eat and do.
I really enjoyed my stay here, meeting everyone living here, working here, or passing through. If traveling through SF again, I would definitely stay here. Busses and BART conveniently located a few blocks away. Also worked out great, as I checked in really early, and really late for my flight -- was nice to keep a home base for that time instead of a normal hotel where I would've had to checkout, check my bags.
Great place to stay when visiting San Francisco! Lots of stuff to do in the surrounding neighborhood, much within walking distance, and the residents had tons of helpful advice and travel tips to help make the stay go smoothly. We truly felt like we got a glimpse of living in San Francisco and the hospitality we encountered was unmatched. The actual building was really cool too, with quirky touches such as a hanging couch, hammocks along the second floor, bikes to borrow and an amazing... More »
I stayed there only 2 nights and was super jet lagged so i haven't been able to socialize very much with people but it will definitely remain as one of the coolest part of my trip. Luara has a nice place and all of them guys are great very friendly and nice people. Id definately recommend anyone to stay. The commuting is great as one can be anywhere all across the city without much hassel.
Great spot super close to BART and Rainbow Market..always a pleasure..thanks Laura!
The Warehouse is awesome! Laura, Steve, Lisa, and Brenden, et al. are great hosts and very cool people. Staying with them is definitely not for the faint of heart, but anyone who has a sense of adventure and looking for a more authentic experience than Motel 6 is going to have a great time. I definitely recommend staying here!
This was my second time staying here. It was a pleasant stay. Had a lot of fun talking to them, hanging out with them. Thanks!
I had a great time there. It was very conveniently located near the Bart (train) and everyone was really nice.
Had a fantastic time staying at the 'Warehouse'. Thanks to all for the wonderful time and hospitality. I can definitely recommend staying here. Thanks!
Had a wonderful stay. It's a warehouse with everything you might need, beautiful details that you can enjoy. The people are incredible nice. It was a great experience and I'd definitely recommend your place to my friends
The pictures of the mission guest house don't do enough justice. This is the ultimate place to stay in SF if you want to meet cool people and be in a funky neighborhood. Our team spent a month enjoying the built in home theater (stadium seating, mario cart), Tiki bar, giant hammock, taking out the guest bikes, and much more. Everyone was really nice and it felt like a large family. We will definitely be back!
Had a wonderful stay. They let me in check in real late (midnight) and upon arrive they provided with keys and map of the neighborhood with recommendations for restaurants and places to go. The "house" looked crazy fun but because of the nature of my stay didn't really get experience it much. Got to watch bit of the Olympics at the theater, which was real cool.
It was a lot of fun staying in this place. They were all very nice. The warehouse is one of the most fun and interesting places ever and the pictures don't do it justice. If you stay there ask to see the picture of before they moved in, INCREDIBLE.
I asked what they call this kind of "house", and apparently, it's called a "crazy warehouse". This must have been one of the most random experiences in my life, and I enjoyed every single second of it. The people are incredible nice, the location is near downtown and Mission, and you'll go home with an experience you'll remember for the rest of your life. Why can't I rate this place 6 stars?
Great place! Located in the exciting neighborhood of Mission, while the house's own interior concept is already outstanding special by itself. Very nice and friendly people creating an deeply charming atmosphere! Has lots of extra benefits ready to use bikes for their guests! And attractions as own Bar, cinema!room... Anytime with pleasure again, recommended!
Great Guest will recommend!
October 2011Laura was a great guest! She took great care of my apartment, everything was clean and in order by the time she left! It was very easy to communicate with her to arrange arrival details.
Laura was a great guest, would recommend her to anybody looking to host.
Laura was great! She treated our place as though it were her own and was an excellent guest. She followed all the house rules and I have no complaints at all! I would love to have Laura stay at our place again in the future!!
Laura was great to communicate with and recommended a great person to stay at my place. She or anyone she recommends is welcome back anytime:)
Staying at the warehouse was great. Everyone is really nice and fun to be around. Especially since many are computer nerds like me. Make sure you ask for the map of places to eat and drink.
December 2010I've stayed with these folks a few times and cannot recommend them enough. Each corner of the Warehouse has its own personality-you'll find a swinging couch next to a movie theater, dangling computer screens in the office area, and a wall of maps in another section (just to give you a taste). The place needs to be seen to be believed. The people are nice, fun, and incredibly helpful. Not only will they lend you a bike, but they'll also give you a map and show you where to go. Plus it's only a... More »
Full disclosure, I live here... but I want to say, this is a good place to stay. =) We are very knowledgeable about the city and upcoming events (especially free ones). We all really enjoy having new people around, and LOVE to show new people around the city. The room is cozy, but there is plenty of space in the house to hang out. If necessary, we can also find some decent work space for you.
