I've been living in San Francisco since graduating from college 2005. I know the city pretty well and am happy to share local knowledge.
I'm an entrepreneur, working on a small and growing startup company. I typically work long hours during the week (10am to 10pm), however my office is conveniently located just 1 block away, so I can always run home if you need anything.
I enjoy watching 30 Rock, listening to NPR podcasts (This American Life, Radio Lab, Planet Money), biking around the Bay, and sitting in the park.
I'm @sferik on Twitter.
Great place to stay in a convenient location for attending a conference at the Moscone Center. Erik for the most part was a great host. The only reason I am not giving a 5 star rating was the little hiccup at the start of my stay. As things turned out, Erik was out of town during the first part of my stay at his place. He did make arrangements for me to get access to his place in his absence. There was one mixup with those arrangements though and I had some difficulty getting access to his... More »
September 2010Back Story: My friend Rob, returning from travels without a home, asked if he could book my room on airbnb (Mission Sunshine w/Private Bath) for a few nights, but we already had guests. But at an airbnb party last April, I door-prized a $200 coupon to stay at Erik's listing--and ONLY at Erik's listing. So I thought I'd use the coupon to put up Rob for 3 nights. Alas, when I tried to look at and book Erik's listing (at the url on the coupon) I discovered that the listing was no longer active.... More »
Staying with Erik was fantastic experience. He was a great host and the living space is beautiful and in a good neighborhood. Would definitely stay with again.
Amazing apartment and location. Definitely a great place to stay in SF.
A fantastic experience - Erik was thoughtful to ensure I'd have everything I needed for my stay, and shared what he had with grace. Highly recommended.
During the time I stayed at Erik's the iphone 4g came out. He introduced me to Scrabble Tile Racks, a game that we played using his ipad as the board and our iphones as controllers...which is really fun if you remember how to play! Erik has a beautiful space---stay here and you won't find better company.
Staying with Erik was a fantastic addition to my trip to SF! He is a warm host and a great tour guide. He pointed me to a number of places I would of never found on my own. The apartment is amazing and I look forward to visiting again!
Fantastic Host who is was extremely helpful. The loft was amazing and in a great location. Couldn't have asked for a better stay.
Great host, super nice guy. The apartment is awesome!
Erik is friendly and knowledgable about the local area — he's a great host. His apartment is also beautiful and in a great location. I hope I have the pleasure of staying there again!
I was super-impressed with both the apartment and Erik as a host. The building is gorgeous and I recommend taking the opportunity to go up to the rooftop. I would suggest this stay to anyone who's looking to feel at home in someone else's home!
Erik is an interesting guy who I can tell works very hard on his job. I'm glad I got to experience the clock tower building right at the downtown of SF. He's got a big HD TV, speedy wifi, nice couch and a big air bed. Had a great time chatting with Erik over dinner.
Erik was an amazing host and a perfect introduction to San Francisco. The apartment had everything: Airport for wireless music, cables to hook up to a Mac, small washer/dryer, stunning location, warmth. If this is your first time in the city or you just prefer a clean, comfortable place right in downtown, look no further.
Erik was once again a great host. He was very hospitable and I always felt comfortable in his awesome SoMa loft. It was also fun to talk with Erik about SF startups and software in general. If you're looking for an interesting place to stay in SoMa/South Park, Erik is a great choice.
Eric was a fabulous host and really made my partner and I feel right at home. Clocktower is an amazing building and Eric's loft is perfect. With South Park a block away you can't go wrong!
Excellent
This was my first airbnb stay, and Erik is a great host with a perfect loft (I am considering getting a loft in the same building, and wanted to check it out for a night). In addition to the great apartment, he knows a lot about SF startups, so I would particularly recommend this place to someone from a startup looking for a place to stay in SoMA/South Park.
Thanks again for the stay on such short notice...great to catch up with you again!
Great spot, Erik is great person, i really enjoyed my trip to san francisco
I was originally drawn to Erik's place because of its location; less then a block from little piece of transplanted Europe - South Park! If you can believe it, I actually approached Erik about doing a photo shoot at his place and he actually said YES! Erik is so nice he bent over backwards to acomodate the logistics of our shoot...It all worked out so beautifully, without a hitch no problem coordinating... I wish I could have spent the night just to hang out and (maybe) watch... More »
Lordy, what a good stay. The place is in the best part of town, his apartment is beautiful, Erik is a wonderful and gracious host. There is no way you could go wrong here.
I spent 2 nights at Erik's place and it was top notch. The apartment is in a great location and very clean, Erik makes you feel at home from the minute you walk in. Highly recommended. As a tech entrepreneur myself, it was great meeting a fellow techie and talk about starting-up in SF vs. Montreal.
I spent a week with Erik and it was absolutely fantastic. From the first day to the very last afternoon everything was great. Erik was gracious, welcoming, and super helpful. Me being new to the city Erik whipped out his map and was willing to help me understand the different areas and answer all of my questions. Throughout the week we had great chats which made my first week in San Francisco fun and engaging. Erik's place is an amazing loft and if you dream of loft living, Erik's is... More »
Although we only spent a night at Erik's, we had great fun chatting it up about SF, music, business and technology. I can see us easily see hanging out with if we lived in the same town! He was an ideal host, giving us a tour of his beautiful loft in one of the most fascinating converted residential buildings I've seen. I highly recommend, not only staying with him, but hanging out with this all-around great guy.
Erik was a very welcoming, helpful, and interesting host. He went out of his way to make sure that I was comfortable and well-oriented, and was eager to share his knowledge about the city and to chat about startups and software. Erik's loft was beautiful and in the perfect location for exploring SOMA and taking public transit to the rest of the city. I highly recommend staying with Erik.
Erik is very hospitable and polite. His apartment is clean and well organized, yet he helps you feel welcome and comfortable. Highly recommended.
Great spot in SoMa close to BART and Whole Foods. Erik is a fantastic host and his place is spotless. Always helpful with recommendations and he went out of his way to ensure I had a comfortable stay. Would absolutely stay again....thanks!
As you can see from his pics, Erik's a classy guy with a really classy pad in SoMa. He lives in a historic building which was the former home to a renowned printing company in the early 1900s. He's a very welcoming host, and kept going out of his way to ensure my stay was enjoyable. It was great getting to know him, he's incredibly knowledgeable about the start-up scene and is a very talented developer. I've stayed at five other places on AirBnB in SF, and this was by far the nicest... More »
Amazing location, building, and local knowledge. This is 'the' place to stay for all reasons to visit a city. Plenty of room, very clean loft, and Erik really goes out of his way to make the trip a success; never went wrong with any of his recommendations. The city is already amazing, why not top it of with the deluxe experience and stay with him.
What a pleasure it was to host Erik. He is very friendly and he and his friend left the cabin so clean that I could hardly tell that anyone had stayed there. We would always welcome him back.

Erik was the perfect guest. The cottage was left as if he had never even been there... we would be happy to host him again.
When I first met Erik, we had just launched this website. In fact, as you can see from his profile, he is the 12th listing we ever had on this site. Erik has been around since the very beginning, and his place is absolutely stunning. I highly recommend staying with Erik.
April 2009This is one of the coolest spots in San Francisco. The W Hotel can't compete! The clock tower building is a landmark in the SoMA district of the city. It's close the Embarcadero (waterfront), South Park, Moscone Convention Center, restaurants, and sites to see. Erik is a talented web developer, and I'm sure he'd be delighted to host both first time and seasoned visitors to San Francisco.
