Scott and Shira are simply awesome, the place is (was, as it is now not listed) a full flat/apartment and well appointed. We loved our stay next to vibrant Main St. especially the food and the short walk to the best coffee at Kafka's. All in all we loved Vancouver even if everybody does say sorry too much :)
October 2011We had an excellent stay at the green house! Four wonderful days in an awesome neighborhood! We live in the country, so being able to experience the city life and being able to walk just about everywhere was such a great experience. The apartment was clean and so comfortable. Out of our eleven days on our trip out west, the only decent sleep we got was at Scott and Shira's apartment-great bed! Thanks so much for your hospitality and resturaunt suggestions, we made it several! We also loved... More »
Scott & Shira's place was a great base for the start of our two week holiday in & around Vancouver. It was clean, comfortable & had everything we needed for a family of three. We were especially pleased that we got to experience an area of Vancouver that we probably wouldn't have ventured to - really great shops and fantastic places to eat. It was quiet and had its own character. We would recommend staying there to friends & family and would certainly return to "the greenhouse."
We couldn't have made a better choice but to stay in the greenhouse with the mountain view. When my husband an I travel to visit our Children in Vancouver we have always stayed in a suite in a hotel. This holiday we tried something different and choose to say with Scott and Shira in their apartment accommodation. I can tell you we will never stay anywhere else again. As long as they have this wonderful little home away from home available we will book our hoiiday time around their... More »
Great hosts - great location - great apartment Couldn't have asked for anything more - thanks you two for making our birthday vacation forever memorable!!!
My stay at the Green House was excellent. I fell in love with it, and wanted to live there permanently if I could! Scott and Shira had provided me with artisan bagels and cream cheese from a local bakery called Solly's for breakfast, and they were super yummy! Main Street was a lot of fun to stroll, with its restaurants, boutiques, and organic markets. I highly recommend Scott, Shira, and their Green House.
Scott and Shira were great hosts. Their apartment in a nice neighborhood full of restaurants and cafés had everything you need. The fridge was filled with some milk for the first day, and beagles were there, too. In the kitchen were all the informations to discover Vancouver and surrounding. We were there with our two kids and they liked the veranda. Claudia and Gianni
Scott and Shira provided us with comfortable accommodation in a great location, and we felt really welcome! If we ever get the chance to spend time in Vancouver again, I hope the Green House will still be available!
Great hosts, very friendly and obliging ! They prepared everything perfectly for our stay. The suite offered everything you could possibly need. Staying there you get a sense of a Vancouver neighborhood. Groceries, shops, restaurants, cafes are very close to the house. Coming back once I would definitely book it again.
The apartment was in a fantastic area and it was easy to get to downtown by bus. Not only did we have bagels, cream cheese and fruit waiting for us but the kitchen has spices, dressings, etc, all the things you need to cook a good meal. There's even moisturiser in the bathroom. We really enjoyed our stay.
Charlotte and I went to run the 1/2 marathon on Sunday June 24th, and stayed the remainder of the week. The Greenhouse was great. BEAUTIFUL location, located 2 houses off of Main street, which is full of locally crafted boutiques, consignment shops, tons of restaurants, coffee shops, blockbuster, grocery stores, etc. The location was key.. place was nice too. We used the pull out couch and the bedroom. Nice claw foot tub, with separate toilet area. Loved the set up of the kitchen, had... More »
This is a marvellous little appartment to explore Vancouver. We very much enjoyed our stay!
Nice to stay in an apartment that feels like a home - great kitchen, super comfortable bed, and well located to shops, restaurants and transport. Easy trip by bus to Stanley Park, Gastown and Chinatown. It was lovely strolling around the streets to get a feel for Vancouver suburbs rather than just being restricted to Downtown.
Cool place to stay and come "home" to after wandering around the city. Way better than staying in some standard hotel room. We walked everywhere and the house is within walking distance to everything: 30 min to Olympic Village, under 50 min to Yaletown and once you're in downtown there's so much to see that the time passes without notice. If we had an extended stay, the kitchen and supplies in the house definitely would've been useful for preparing some home cooked meals. The house was kept... More »
Great place with a fantastic location! It was a great home away from home for the five days we were in Vancouver. The apartment was roomy and comfortable, and the bagels and coffee were a welcome addition. Transit, great restaurants and shopping are steps away. Getting the keys was easy, and the hosts were really helpful. We would stay there again.
Could not have asked for cooler hosts or a nicer place to stay. Location is in a great neighborhood with lots of nice shops, restaurants, and access to transit. Scott and Shira are kind, friendly, and always knew cool stuff to do while I was in the city.
Scott and Shira were wonderful, gracious hosts. They left me juice, fruit, and bagels and cream cheese - very lovely! I was able to make my own coffee every morning, or walk just a few feet down the street to a cute local coffee shop. The apartment is wonderful and I very highly recommend it. Thank you two, for everything :).
I really enjoyed my stay, Location was perfect, Not in the hustle and bustle of the city but not in the suburbs either. Easy to shop, catch public transport and also find many cheap places to eat as well, all within easy walking distance. The view of the mountains was a nice touch to make this place a nice cozy retreat. WIFI was a plus as well as Scott amd Shira providing great little touches to make the first days real easy. I would recommend this place to anyone interested in value for... More »
We just got back from a 2 week trip to Portland, Seattle, and Vancouver. We stayed in 3 different apartments/houses, and Scott and Shira's was by far the best place we stayed. They are great at making their guests feel welcome. When we arrived, there were bagels and fruits waiting for us! The home is so cozy and has a comfortable bed, a vinyl collection, a balcony, and many other nice stylistic touches. It was also near hundreds of restaurants, coffee shops, clothing stores, and more. We rode... More »
Staying at Mountain View was fabulous! The place is spacious, cozy and the location is incredible. A brand new, huge, beautiful swimming pool is 3 blocks away as is an incredible park and conservatory. A peaceful residential neighborhood and a great shopping area merge. The selection of food and interesting shops is hard imagine surpassing. The hosts were helpful and friendly but totally unobtrusive. Now that I know about Mountain View on Main I plan on making the trip up to B.C.... More »
We only had a night in Vancouver and wanted to make the most of it. We arrived late on the first day, collected the key and settled in. Shira came to see us to make sure we were okay and to discuss the next day as we wanted to leave early and leave our bags with her. She kindly took our bags in the next morning and was home at 3pm for us to collect them. So helpful and such a nice suite to stay in! We'd love to go back.
We crossed the border from the City of Subdued Excitement for a few days of hanging out, exploring Vancouver and welcoming the new year. We had a great relaxing time, spend a few hours on New Years day at the Museum of Anthropology at UBC. We highly recommend that to other visitors. We also sampled a few of the many great-looking restaurants over on Main Street. Your place is lovely and so comfortable. I travel a lot for work and so much prefer staying at a place like this, compared to... More »
We found the loft apartment at the Green house to provide a comfortable place to relax over Christmas after months of travel. The views of the mountains were stunning and the access to buses on Main made it easy to travel downtown.
Thanks so much Scott and Shira. The apartment was perfect.. the location was perfect and you made us very comfortable- and warm during one of the coldest Decembers in recent Vancouver, we felt really at home. Certainly we'd love to come again. Brenda & Peter
Exactly as Described, I enjoyed my stay. I never met Scott and Shira but it was easy to communicate with them, on the phone or email. Awesome to have the items provided for breakfast. Free parking was really appreciated, and the neighbourhood is really cool to walk around. 30 mins walk to the punjabi market for great food!
Scott and shira were welcoming in their communications and detailed in written explanations of the rules and responsibilities associated with the apartment. The mountain view at the "green house" is fabulous. The location and neighbourhood always felt safe and inviting. As promised there were bagels, fruit, creamed cheese. milk and fruit in the fridge and many varieties of tea and coffee. Shira is right when she says the spice cupboard is well stocked! You can tell she enjoyes... More »
Scott and Shira were awesome! The place was very similar to our apartment in Los Angeles and it really did feel like being home away from home. As for the bagels and fresh fruit, that was super cool. We had a great time in Vancouver, definitely can't wait till we come back. Thanks for the awesome stay!
Scott and Shira's place is very comfortable and homey - we were immediately relaxed upon our arrival. Great location for transit to downtown (approx 15min), and Main itself has lots of great shops and places to check out. The breakfast items were very appreciated, and we had luck with parking our rental car on the street (for free). It was great to have a place to come home to while we were traveling!
Scott and Shira have an awesome place. Love the art on the walls, the records, and the balcony with a mountain view is awesome for enjoying the breakfast foods they left for us. Delicious bagels and cream cheese. The neighborhood has got to be the best in Vancouver. Great food every where, great people, great little shops, my personal favorite is red cat records practically across the street on Main (I could have spent so much more in there.) The bus stop is close by and will take you... More »
the apart was great, what we needed .We had a great time. Thank you Shira and Scott .Hope to see you again
My partner and I are traveling around the world and staying at Scott and Shira's was just what we needed. After so many months of unfriendly hotel rooms located in vacant downtown areas, or dirty little hostels their flat was a welcome relief; it was clean, homey, comfortable and they made sure all the little details were in place to make our stay comfortable. There is a great little kitchen for cooking in, completely with a full array of spices and they even stock the place with bagels,... More »
fanastic apartment in a great location. Easy access to the metro and buses and some great retaurants. 10mins on public transport to down town. Really enjoyable experience, thank you.
Great place to stay. We found the flat to be all we needed and more. Shira and Scott provided us with fresh bagels, juice, fruit, coffee, milk, etc. The flat is near some great restaurants and shops. We were able to buy gluten free food and meals. It was an easy trip into downtown Vancouver. We would happily stay in this flat again.
this is one of the coolest places i have stayed at. it is in a great location in vancouver and the place had a great record collection god books and they left out everything you would need to have great time! thanks
This was a lovely place to stay in a very mellow area with nice coffee shops and restaurants. The apartment was homely and very comfortable.
Scott and Shira were so accommodating, so welcoming, so generous. They raised the bar so highly on reception. We had fresh fruit and bagels, coffee, juice, comfy beds, good records, and of course a great location (walking distance to Queen Elizabeth Park, a bit further to downtown, but right around the corner from the cultured, lively Main Street). Scott and Shira pointed us to great restaurants and had numerous ideas for local nightlife. They were so helpful without any ounce of... More »
Excellent flat and location. It was really comfortable and homely with everything you could need. We really enjoyed our stay there and would recommend it as a great place to stay and explore Vancouver.
great hosts, super nice flat, yummi breakfast, cool neighbourhood.......what more can you ask for? it was a perfect ending for my perfect time in canada! THX again for your help with the key :0). i will come back for sure.
What an awesome spot! *Gorgeous* flat, and we had it all to ourselves... located in a fabulously funky neighborhood which is ethnic restaurant heaven. Bagels, fruit, juice and coffee for breakfast... what more could you ask for? Didn't meet Scott, but Shira had great energy, and it was just an all-around great experience. We'll definitely come back next time we're in Vancouver.
Although far away, it was still very easy to communicate with Scott and Shira. I enjoyed the freedom there place provided versus a hotel. Bagels, orange juice and fruit is an excellent touch. Location is great with lots of shops and restaurants. This is everything I need for my stay in Vancouver. I will be back again.
We stayed here during the Olympics and it worked out great! Scott & Shira were out of town, but we were still able to communicate very seamlessly via email. There are tons of shops/restaurants within a couple blocks and their place is right on the bus lines, so getting into downtown was easy. We walked into downtown as well, not a bad walk if you have some time.
Scott & Shira's place was great for my Olympic stay. A very warm and homely place and everything a traveler needs - comfortable environment, internet and even bagels, fruit and juice in the fridge (a nice touch - thanks). And the most beautiful view of the mountains every morning and evening that's just uplifting. The areas is nice and an easy bus and Skytrain ride right downtown in 15 minutes. I would certainly rent from these guys again next time I'm in town. Thanks guys.
- Very clean and homey - Safe location and conveniently located near downtown Vancouver hot spots - Easy to find and parking nearby - Quiet and quaint - Affordable stay which was a great bonus for our Olympic traveling party - Amenities include coffee, tea, fresh fruit, juice, bagels and cream cheese - We would definitely stay there again if it's available upon our next trip to Vancouver!!
Great friendly people1 Would love to have them here again!
November 2009Coolest couple ever!!! Not only are they amazingly talented artists (yes, both of them) but they are also the warmest and kindest people you are ever likely to meet. I doubt there is a single person out there who has met them and not felt their life is better for it. Seriously, if you get a chance to spend any time with either of them, you will count yourself among the lucky ones. Oh, and their Main Street location is by far the best area of the city. And the place is great too!
December 2010I stay with Scott and Shira every time I visit Vancouver. Their place is always super clean and they are extremely hospitable and welcoming. Best location in Vancouver. Staying at the Greenhouse is something to look forward to!
