October 2011My husband and stayed with Sol while visiting D.C. She was absolutley wonderful. Everything was prepared and ready for us when we got there. She is also very easy to get a hold of. We loved our stay! It was short, but great. We would both definitley recommend staying with Sol if you are ever in the D.C. area.
A very nice room and a very nice experience. She provided snacks, clean towels, books, DVD's, guidebooks--anything you could ask for, and plenty of things you wouldn't even think about. Recommended.
We felt right at home our entire stay. Sol keeps a very busy work schedule so we hardly saw her, but she was almost always available by phone when we needed. The apartment was very sweetly prepared for us. Everything had a personal touch. We enjoyed tea, wine, movies, and snacks which were pleasantly included in the stay. If you don't mind a little bit of a commute, we would recommend Sol's apartment to you and would certainly consider it again if we ever return to DC.
Staying at Sol's was a great decision, she had our area ready and perfectly laid out for our arrival, their were even a selection of snacks which is a great help when arriving somewhere new! here apartment is in a great location from the city centre and the bus and trains run efficiently enough for gong in and out of the centre! with out a doubt I would recommend to anyone to stay with Sol whilst visiting DC!
Sol is a wonderful person. She is gracious and friendly, and we enjoyed the time we spent at her house. She certainly goes out of her way to make people feel comfortable as well as respect their privacy. We appreciated the location of her apartment. It was safe and a great way to explore the area.
Very nice welcoming. Sol saved my trip in a second. Near old town of Alexandria and Mount Vernon. For a cheap place, i had more than i expected. Merci beaucoup ;)
I have been there for two days and it was a great experience. The place is easy to reach sol is a really nice host she has all the information one needs to get around and she is ready to share it with you. sol made sure that I get there easily and to be comfortable and after that she gave me enuogh room to have my space, true lady style. Thank you sol for having me. saygin
Even though my stay was very short, I was very comfortable and pleased with Sol's warm heart and room. I will come back again for sure. Thank you Sol.
Sol is really a very nice and attentive host. The area is also pretty to walk around and to shop. We enjoyed our stay very much.
If you are hesitant about staying with Sol, don't be! She is AWESOME! We needed to check in a day earlier than originally requested and she was very understanding and accomidating. She welcomed us, helped carry our luggage, and made us feel very at home in her place, right on the patomic river I might add. It is a great little apartment that was plenty big enough for me, my friend, and my little boy. She was in and out as much as us so aside from a few brief conversations we didn't see much... More »
Sol is a very nice and kind person, she welcomed us even earlier as expected and offered us nice tea, coffee and candy :) It's a beautiful place to stay! Thank you!
Sol is an excellent host!! Lovely young lady:) just a little bit busy..... I enjoy the stay very much!! the room was cozy and there are tea and coffee and snakes provided. it is a little bit far away from national mall but very close to the old town which is the best place to go~ I just love it!!
I enjoyed staying at Sol's artsy aparment. In terms of value for money I could not have asked for a better deal. The apartment was clean, comfortable and packed with conveniences for the weary traveller--snacks, soap, towels etc. Sol was also a warm and gracious hostess. I'd highly recommend staying at her place.
Sol's place is great. She is incredibly accommodating. Her place was easy to find, and in a safe area. She provided menus, Metro maps and lots of creature comforts.
Sol is such an awesome hostess - very nice, passionate, respectful and fun to talk to! We enjoyed our time in DC very much. Her place is very clean and has everything you need! Maps, metro/bus schedules, even delivery menus are provided. There is a bus station closely located in front of the apartment complex. The bus takes you to a metro station within 15 mins and metro takes you everywhere. Old Town Alexandria is also around the area. Lots of nice restaurant and shops! Just stay with Sol... More »
Sol was very friendly, respectful and accommodating (especially when I needed to set up an additional night because of a schedule change). She puts out some protein bars for you to snack on! The apartment is very clean and quiet - the location is fantastic. You are just a short bus ride from the Braddock Road metro stop. Additionally you can walk to some nice restaurants near old town Alexandria. She is an excellent host.
Sol's place is very cozy and we felt very much at home. She has everything you need for a few nights' stay and we really enjoyed the fruitcups!
Even though I was only staying with her for one night, Sol made me feel quite welcome. She stayed up to meet me and made sure I knew where everything was. I had all the accommodations I expect from regular hotels. Just a quick metro and bus ride from the city center.
Sol's apartment is indeed very comfortable and artsy including a wonderful, eclectic collection of books and videos. She is quite charming with a big, warm smile! My stay at her apartment was very convenient -- the bus has a stop right in front of her building! Plus, this is the last stop, so it is the "Destination" of the bus -- no confusion! Every day, I took the bus and then Metro to downtown/tourist Washington DC. I was able to have everything that people who pay 6 times as much or... More »
Sol is a very nice person! The flat is very welcoming, clean and pleasant... She provides a large assortment of snacks, bed linen, towels and everything you can need! I arrived late in the night, but she was very kind and friendly! I will recommend Sol's apt to everybody! As far as I'm concerned I felt totally at ease!
Sol is very sweet and accommodating. She always answered our emails and questions promptly. This was our first and favorable ABnB experience. I would recommend her without hesitation. = )
Sol could write the book on hospitality. I stayed for three nights in September. It was my first time using airbnb. I had plenty of privacy and she was very responsive to my requests. The space is very clean and roomy. Sol was a joy to talk with and I would not hesitate to recommend her place to others. There is a bus stop steps away from her apartment. The bus is only minutes from the train. King Street is not far away which is a wonderful place to visit, too. I felt at home.
Our stay with Sol was very pleasent and the area her appartment is located in is lovely. Sol is a very friendly, helpful and warm hearted person. Her flat was really cosy. Thank you,Sol, for beeing such a great host.
I had an excellent experience. This was my first time using Airbnb and Sol was the perfect host...warm accommodating and inviting. I felt right at home. Her apartment was clean and comfortable. She had a wonderful assortment of Tea and a tray with some breakfast bars, cereal and fresh fruits. Her apartment is on the bus line and a very short distance from the Metro which I used to get to and from the Restoring Honor event. I got in and out of DC for the event with great ease.
Sol's cozy apartment is worth staying if you are stopping by DC. It is in Alexandria Old City where you can find many cool shops/restaurants/bars. Sol is very kind, helpful and hospitable to make your stay as comfortable as possible. I would strongly recommend her and her place to any traveler to have a good experience..
This is a very nice host who gave me a very comfortable stay at her house. My husband and I got a feeling at home when we stayed here. I would recommend my friends to come here if they need a place near DC.
Well, I came in late on my first day but sol was waiting for me. She briefed me, showed me how and where so I felt comfortable since the 1st moment. The sofa is ok and big enough to sleep relaxed, everything is clean and so cute, a lovely apartment. There you can get easily access to the bus or have a nice walk through old town of Alexandria. Sol is such a nice person and host, she delivers a lot of input about the area and so on....if I wouldn´t have to leave I would stayed much more... More »
Sol was very formal, yet accommadating towards us. Our space was in Sol's living area; it was partitioned to ensure our privacy. We slept on the queen size airbed, which was comfortable after putting sufficient air in it. There were always fresh towels, fruits, snacks, and teas available. Sol's place was 'comfortable and artsy', as she described it, in a high rise located next to the Potomac River and Old Town Alexandria. I personally enjoyed the books made available to her guest,... Amazing visit to DC/ Virginia. Sol was very accomodating and helpful in making my stay the best ever. I must admit I was a bit skeptical prior to my visit but once I arrived I felt totally at ease. I would stay with Sol again.
Sol is very nice and helpful. There are selections of teas and fruit available. The apartment was clean. Bus stop in front of the building. I recommend her apartment.
Sol was a charm, and it is a travesty that our paths did not meet more during my stay. The sleeping area is on a twin fold-out couch in the living room, and she places a folding wall for privacy. As others have said, there is plenty of teas and fruits so you feel right at home. There is a bus line right up front, so getting to and from the Metro is a breeze. Great walking trails alongside the Potomac, if you are game to walk. Yet, did I mention that Sol is a charm? That's what it is really... More »
Sol was friendly and communicated promptly in making arrangements. I slept on Sol's fold-out couch in the living room. There's a TV and selections of teas available. There are frequent buses between the metro and this apartment complex immediately south of Alexandra Old Town.
Good value. Stayed in Sol (Soul)'s living room on twin fold out couch, complete comfort. Nice Christmas decorations. She leaves out a selection of tea with a tea kettle and chocolates, convenient wireless and power for my laptop. I know this location well having lived in this very apartment building in another life. It's a nice walk to the tourist area of Alexandria and a healthy hike to the Metro, from which you can easily get anywhere in DC. I used the SuperShuttle, booked online, to and... More »

Great selection of reading material, convenient wireless and power connection for a lab top and a variety of fabulous teas. This space is located near so many shops in Alexandria Virginia, it’s so convenient! If you decide to rent a car, it is minutes away from Downtown Washington DC. Sol is accommodating, friendly and helpful, I would recommend this option for travelers.
