    Hey, I'm Tonei!

    Member Since November 2008

My name is Tonei Glavinic, and I am a senior at American University in Washington, DC. I plan to graduate in May 2012 with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Women's, Gender & Sexuality Studies, with a minor in Justice, and a certificate in Women, Policy and Political Leadership from AU’s Women and Politics Institute.

I am the architect and manager for the TONI Project, an online resource for transgender people to share, discover and transform policies and practices at universities across the country. TONI is currently an initiative of the National Center for Transgender Equality, with support from the David Bohnett Foundation.

On campus, I work as a Resident Assistant in Congressional Hall, serve as President of the American Eagles chapter of the National Residence Hall Honorary, and a research assistant for a professor in the School of International Service. I am also collaborating with another student to found a chapter of Iota Iota Iota, the National Women’s Studies Honor Society.

Outside of school, I am the National Advisory Council Communications Coordinator at the Gay, Lesbian & Straight Education Network (GLSEN) and a volunteer escort with the Washington Area Clinic Defense Task Force.
