June 2010This was our first time in London. Rachel was a great host and her flat was tiny but very nice. It was unusually hot for May in London, so the breezy fourth floor was excellent, and the fact that all windows were new and opened freely was a big plus. The climb, about 70 steps, was a good workout but difficult if you have heavy bags - mostly due to the narrow hall and steep, short steps. The only problem we had with the amenities was a faulty diverter for the hand-held shower. Rachel and... More »
This was our second stay at Rachel's place. She was a friendly accessible host. Her location is perfect for visiting our daughter at Long Island University. Great restaurants and trendy shopping is a block away on 5th Avenue. A few blocks the other direction are the cafes and shops of Smith and Court Streets. We were a couple of blocks from Atlantic Pacific subway station, which takes you everywhere. Most places in Manhattan were 20-30 minutes away or less, but Brooklyn has plenty. The best... More »
My friends and I stayed in Princes Square, and Marc made everything very easy. The place was compact, nice, and very clean. Had a few problems with the hot water, but basically just two people could not shower back-to-back. Also in a great neighborhood with lots of places to eat and walk around. Would definitely stay again!
Rachel was a great host. She wasn't there when we arrived but arranged everything remotely and it went smooth, getting the keys and in was easier than a hotel. The Brooklyn place was cute and warm and totally not smelly. It looked like the photos. Very close to all major trains. She left us organic milk and coffee and a french press with detailed instructions for everything. I never needed to call for anything. Only real drawback was the bed which although on the nice side for a... More »
My husband & I recently stayed at Princes Square for 12 nights. Even though Rachel and Marc were away when we arrived, access was very easy. There was an issue with the hot water initially but our conscientious hosts worked hard to resolve it asap. The flat, though small, has everything we were looking for- a separate bedroom, a sitting room, a kitchen well equipped for light meals, a washing machine and everything was very tidy. We recommend it to anyone looking for affordable, attractive,... More »
Great spot. Easy to get keys and had a great stay. Thanks Rachel!
Easygoing, cool, functional My wife and I stayed at Rachel’s for 8 nights. She gave us good advice on getting there and away. Both Rachel and Mark were very flexible as our arrival was delayed by over a day due to external circumstances. Her place is thoughtfully decorated and highly functional. It is tidy & clean with lots of room for you even if you brought ample amounts of luggage as we did. The bathroom is huge and the back door opens to a private grove where you can greet the... More »
My husband and I stayed at Rachels studio for 3 nights and had such a great time hanging out in Brooklyn. The studio is in a great location with a multitude of selection depending on how you are feeling at the moment. Take a right out of the studio, go down 2 to 3 blocks and you will find yourself at more familiar stores like Target, Old Navy, DSW, starbucks etc... Walk one block to 5th Ave and you will find creative, quaint and charming restaurants, boutiques and even a cute little second... More »
Rachel was prompt and helpful. Location was very near subways and walking distance from 5th Avenue, Smith and Court Street restaurants and shopping. Her place was great, especially for the price. Cherry Tree Neighborhood Bar was 2 doors away- a cool place to watch games and have a drink. Good atmosphere.
Immaculate, immaculate, immaculate...BRAVO! Ok, so a little over the top...but when I told everyone where I was staying and for how much, they all thought I was playing...and this is as real as it gets. The accommodations are exactly as the photos represent but what isn't represented is how nice, professional and on top of stuff Rachel and her partner Mark are. Absolutely no complaints...we will be back again and often!
Brooklyn: the place to be for visiting NY and neighborhoods, definitely. Rachel's apartment is fantastic: the vintage's atmosphere, the size and the well-placed location are some of the many reasons. We must say that everything in the apartment was very convenient, included access to the internet from Rachel's desktop. We really appreciated Mark's welcome(even if we were very late !) and all his precious advices regarding neighborhoods and so on. So if you plan to visit NY and if you plan... More »
