We spent four days at Rhodri Owen's flat at Rue D'Aboukir near the Strasbourg Saint-Denis metro stop. It was described as "Funky French Fancy" and certainly had some crazy decor. the location of this apartment is great, however it failed to deliver on so many of its promises. The apartment itself is fine however the building feels like it should be condemened with plaster and wires missing and hanging off walls( all of which could be overlooked if everything else worked). The facilities as suggested by a previous review were not up to standard. The toilet took over 30 minutes to fill and re flush, the washing machine did not work, the shower head did not stay on its... More »
The place was well decorated and the location in Paris is excellent (Rue d'Aboukir, close to the beautiful walking only Rue Montorgueuil). You are really close to the Louvre, Chatelet les Halles, Rue de Rivoli, etc.

The apt was comfortable and well decorated with basic amenities. There is no central heat- just a space heater! It was quite chilly to start but warmed up eventually. Had some trouble getting hot water for the shower. Otherwise a great place to stay! The building is quiet and secure. Close to the metro, shopping, restaurants and museums.
