By far the most elegant airbnb space I've stayed in. Amanda has converted a former grocery store into a dream loft filled with fun, cheerful decor and every convenience one could need while travelling. And there's a workable indoor swing that alone is worth the trip to STL. The surrounding area is a warm, intimate-feeling community with lots of accessible locally run shops and restaurants. Amanda herself is generous, reliable, and accommodating; she made no issue of waiting for 2 hours beyond... More »
November 2011Amanda's place is awesome, and so is Amanda! Her place is adorable and in a fantastic neighborhood - just a few blocks to a really gorgeous, large park, next to a really nice little pub (no worries about noise - I'm very sensitive to noise at night, and I didn't hear a thing), and lots of great dining options. She thought of everything - the whole place was immaculate, she put out fruit, coffee and tea for breakfast and even gave us locally made caramel apples! My wife, a friend and I were... More »
What a clean place Amanda keeps! We walked to a special dinner under the stars at the Botanical Garden several blocks away and also enjoyed Amanda's recommended visit to the Tower Park farmer's market on Saturday. This is a great location if you want to be car-free for just a bit of your time in St Louis. The apartment itself is full of conveniences and thoughtful touches. AND, you can swing your stress away for an extra treat. Amanda is a terrific hostess and you will not lack for... More »
Amanda's place is so well located, with a great bar/restaurent two doors away. She was so pleasant on checkin, we knew we had made a new friend.
Amanda gets it 100% right-small touches mean everything plus the place is comfortable and beyond cool.
Amanda was delightful and so was her beautiful place. The storefront space was clean, definitely interesting with a swing and overall fun. Would stay there again. Don't pass a chance for this experience. Thank you Amanda.
My wife and I stayed at Amanda's for a weekend anniversary trip to St Louis. It was our first time using airbnb. We met Amanda on Friday afternoon and she gave us the grand tour of lovely home and all it's little quirks. We live an hour away from St Louis so we kind of know our way around different parts of the city. We never really explored Shaw before. What a great neighborhood. Tower Grove Park and the Botanical gardens are a site to behold. We went to the Farmer's Market in... More »
We enjoyed our stay at Amanda's artsy storefront. Amanda was wonderful ( very [pleasant and welcoming) and she responded to our requests immediately. Good place to stay in St Louis and very close to the beautiful tower grove park and the botanical gardens.
This was our first Airbnb experience and we were a little unsure about how it all worked, but Amanda made the experience great. Her place is absolutely fantastic with a lot of room to stretch out. The neighbor is wonderful with a great, clean local watering hole right next door and lots of wonderful old buildings to see as you walk the street. The space was extremely clean and Amanda was such a welcoming host. I'm already thinking of excuses to go back up to St. Louis and stay at her place... More »
I loved being at Amanda's place and in her neighborhood. Our experience in St. Louis was enriched by the people we met at Thurman's, the corner gathering place, and by Amanda. The accommodations were perfect for us - quiet, private, necessary amenities provided. Amanda was welcoming and helpful.
The Artsy Storefront was exactly as described: a wonderful space that is centrally located. Despite the heat wave, the apartment was cool and comfortable. Amanda is an excellent and thoughtful host. She provided us with useful information about the neighborhood, restaurants, etc. -- and left juice, fruit, and goodies for us! This was our first visit and we look forward to our next one. Thanks, Amanda -- you really do rock! Cheers from Al and Eileen!
Amanda is a great host and the Artsy Storefront is a comfortable place to relax after running around the city. Off the beaten track, but not so far as to be inconvenient, it is located in a neighborhood that has real urban character. Thumbs up!
by far my best airbnb experience to date. amanda rocks and so does her place. the swing was so much fun, as is her neighborhood. i will totally look to stay here again in the future.
We had an amazing weekend at Amanda's place. She was so accommodating with our changing schedule. The Artsy Storefront is perfectly located and wonderfully charming. From there we were easily able to take in the Botanical Garden, the City Museum and a Cardinals Game all in the same day. We're looking forward to our next visit to St. Louis and definitely plan to stay at Amanda's again.
This trip could not have gone any better. Amanda was easy to get a hold of, accommodating of our somewhat last minute reservations, and a great hostess. The place was amazing, clean and spacious, bagels and fruit for breakfast, neighborhood wireless, and in a location that lets you access nearly every part of St. Louis whether it be by car, bike, or foot. I would highly recommend it to everyone and will always keep it in mind for our future getaways.
I absolutely loved the style of Amandas home. It was beautiful and cozy. She left fruits and bagels for breakfast with drink which always makes me happy. I would definitely recommend it to friends and hope I need to reserve again!!!
We had a great experience at the "Artsy Storefront". The space is clean, open, and spacious, but with a relaxed feel. Amanda left great instructions, and provided extra touches, such as fruit, bagels, and coffee for our stay. I would highly recommend the space to other visitors, and we will definetly be staying there again.
Amanda is the perfect host: she communicates well, she is friendly and helpful, her apartment is large, clean, and accommodating, the neighborhood she lives in is central to everything going on in St. Louis, and she made us feel welcome and at ease in every way. We called it our "home away from home" for our week-long visit. If we ever come to St. Louis again, we would definitely hope to be able to stay in her "Artsy Storefront"; it's fantastic! Highly recommended!
We were doing important charity work while The Truemper party stayed here, donating monies to the poor casinos of Las Vegas. Our grumpy surrogate host, Sean, told us that they were above and beyond tolerable, which is a huge compliment coming from him. We checked out the apartment when we returned from our mission and found the place to be in immaculate condition, and we know through experience that it was not because of Sean. Muchas gracias as they say around these parts. Highly... More »
January 2012Amanda was a great guest Couldnt even tell she was here. Would welcome her back anytime!
I have known Amanda for several years - she is such a kind and considerate person - she has stayed at my home several times in Dublin, Ireland and was the perfect house guest - I have no hesitation recommending Amanda as a landlord or a tenant - she rocks.
