Ssameer was a great host. He was constantly asking me if I was comfortable. I really appreciated how warm the apartment was during the really cold week I was there. The area is great with a supermarket a couple of hundred feet away and all kinds of restaurants. The train is also down the block! I definitely recommend his place!

We spend 12 nights in Ssamer’s apartment. He was really welcoming and friendly, and contact before arrival was easy. Once there and when the sofa was unfolded, do not expect to walk in the "room", it’s impossible (6m² max, including a small closet). No ventilation and inability to open the window, and a noisy heating pipe where high heat escapes which is impossible to resolve. This was the second time I stayed at Ssameer's and just as last time he was a lovely host. I shared the room with a friend this time and even though it's quite small it worked out just fine. Location-wise, this is really a perfect spot. The place is clean and well looked after. It's not the most quiet of houses so you might prefer the other room that's in the back of the apartment if you are sensitive to noises from the stairwell.
The room just as described with clean sheets, blankets and towels. The subway number 1 train station is literally a 5 min walk away, super convenient, we also had full use of the kitchen. I would stay there again in a heartbeat :)
SSameer's appartment was easy to find being just off the 137th street College station. I would recommend getting a 1 week or more unlimited metro card to get about as the cost of travel could mount up getting in and out of Manhattan central.
Ssameer wasn't there so his friend Miranda looked after me. She showed me the room and the appartment and then left me alone which is what I wanted. Had my own set of keys so I could come and go as I pleased.

Very good experience, and I was very happy with it all. It is as it says, "convenient, cheap room." The building is steps away from a nice, modern supermarket, McDonalds, liquor store, and other little shops, plus it's barely a 2 minute walk to the subway (#1 train - 15 minutes to Times Square). Nice and comfy room for a reasonable price. I only stayed one night but Sameer is an excellent host. It was like visiting an old friend you haven't met in ages. I highly recommend staying at his place if you're in town for a few days.

Very nice place, very well located near the subway station on 137th street. Ssameer was on vacation but Dasha welcomed us and gave us useful tips to visit certain places NY. The room was super clean and we were able to cook, use the fridge, use the bathroom as if you were living there and the price is very low compared with other offers ----> so the perfect place to spend your journey in NY city!

Ssameer Ssierra is a nice host. The location is good, only one block away from subway. If you don't mind to share the bathroom with the other guests, this is a good place to stay.
Ssameer is really helpful and chatty. Very willing to share any advice (where to do laundry, get coffee, help in turbo charging iPhone etc). The place is located quite far on the upper side of Manhattan, but the metro is very conveniently located nearby so that is not a problem. There is also a supermarket down the street if one needs to pick up anything. Although I only stayed a night, it was a good experience overall.
Ssameer is a good host. He greeted us when we arrived and was accommodating. My main complaint with the room was just that it was really hot, but otherwise fine. We didn't spend much time there because we were out in the city all day and night, but it was sufficient for our needs. Nothing fancy, but just right if you need somewhere to rest your head and take a shower.
Thanks to Ssameer we had a great time in NYC. Room and bed are perfect for 2, the neighbourhood is very pleasant, the place is very quiet and clean. He is a very friendly host, always ready to help and he gives useful advices to cope with the Big Apple.

The neighborhood is friendly, there are shops close by, the subway is only a few steps away and if you’re into Zumba there is a free class on Saturdays only two blocks away. Ssameer was a great host. His place is safe and secure and a great place to get a good nights rest, especially when you are out all day in the city. The Metro station is even closer than what I thought it would be and it takes you down from his place to the bay and hits every major hot spot in NYC. Clean and big enough to accommodate both of us during our time in NYC. Sameer was willing to chat about the various ways to travel the city and suggested agreeable morning coffee venues, so no complaints here. All-in-all a very enjoyable stay.
My friend and I had a wonderful time in New York at Ssameer's private and conveniently cheap room. His place is located within 50 yards of the subway and it is extremely close to the M60 bus stop-- the bus which takes you directly to and/or from Laguardia Airport. I would totally recommend staying at Ssameer's rental. The room itself is small but great for one person and great if you are visiting NYC and not planning on spending a lot of time indoors. Ssameer and his girlfriend were both very friendly and hospitable enough to advise me of the local NYC happenings. The location was excellent as you really are only footsteps away for the subway and in a safe highly populated area.
This was another great stay at Ssameer's. He was very accommodating of me arriving later than expected on Christmas Eve. Even though it was stormy outside it was still warm and inviting at Ssameer's place. Some great neighbors even helped me shovel out my Jeep after the huge storm so I could get back on the road. A great place to stay in NYC. Nice and interesting neighbourhood with great, cheap delis and supermarkets all over! Practically on the subway tracks (line 1) which will take you straight to the Theatre District and Fashion/Garment District and beyond! The room we stayed in (the one with the futon and loft bed) was small, but adequate - we weren't in NYC to sit in our room!

The flat was not clean, because, I think, someone else was here before us.
We had a little problems with flushing of the toilet and draining the shower. In our first evening we could not open the flat's door and it was not funny. After dozen attempts it suddenly opened.

The room is small and really warm but for the price, the whole experience was worth it. We got to get a feel of the real Manhattan opposed to staying in a touristy area.

Sameer's a cool guy. I was delayed making my way into Manhattan from Jersey and therefore late for our first meeting where I was supposed to get the keys. He was very understanding and helpful in getting me on the right train. If you have questions about the city or neighborhood or need recommendations on things to do or see in NYC he's happy to offer guidance. He's a chill character that's into music, and overall really easy to get along with.
My daughter and I spent two wonderful weeks at Ssameer´s place and we felt at home there immediately. The room was small compared to European standard but that was just fine, especially compared to the phantastic price - apart form that we were out in the city all day long anyway. my friend and I stayed at ssameers place for 5 nights and really enjoyed his apartment. even tough he told us that the room might be a little small for 2 people it was just fine. there is a fan in the room and when you leave the door open at night the A/C also cools down the room a bit (as it was raelly hot and humid at that time in ny - around 100F)

Affordable and convenient location. Very close to multiple subway lines. Fairly safe neighbourhood with a lot of foot traffic. Rooms are small, but if you are visiting NYC, I don't imagine one would spend much time in their room.

Me and my boyfriend enjoyed the stay at Ssameer's place. However the room was pretty tiny and I can hardly imagine staying there during the summer. We lacked the fresh air a bit. The place was quite busy as there were 5 people (including us) at one moment and only one bathroom. This flat is very well located indeed and also Ssameer is very nice person thus for backpackers or those who don't want to spent their fortune on accommodation in NYC it's worth it. I had a wonderful time at Ssameers place. He is a very nice person, you can speak with him for hours on any argument. He also gave me a lot of indications and he was really helpful when I had to look for restaurants or cafès. His place is really close to the subway and the neighborhood was totally safe. Sameer totally rocks! He's super helpful and laid back. The location and price are great. A block from the subway. He pointed out changing at 96th from the local 1 to the express 2 or 3 lines which saved me a bunch of time plus he extended some other help that I hugely appreciate.

I can only recommend a stay at Ssameer's. He is a very nice, polite and considerate host and will give u tips about great places to eat or to visit and he always tries to be helpful. This is a highly recommended place to stay! Ssameer is a fabulous host. He was flexible about when we arrived, chatted with us and made sure we had everything we needed. Very close to subway. Although the room is small, it is clean and lots of luggage fits in the closet leaving plenty of space. Thanks, Ssameer!
The location can't be beat. I stayed only one night, but I found Ssameer to be a good host -- accommodating and friendly. The bed in the room I stayed in is not very soft, but I didn't have a problem sleeping. (Light sleepers ought to be aware, though.) Overall, a great experience, and I would definitely come back.
The apartment is great for the price. It is very near the subway... you can be in Times Square in 15 minutes. We only saw Ssameer once for about 2 mintues when we checked-in, but he was very nice and helpful. He sent us to a great Japanese place on St. Marks which we ended up visiting twice. I would definitely recommend Ssameer's place to fellow airbnb travelers.

Sameer's place is strategically located near the subway station, with access to the NYC's main attractions in less than 30 minutes - for first timers here, this really helped us a lot! He keeps his place clean & everything was in order, from clean towels to kitchen amenities, we really had no complaints ! Ssameer's place was perfect for a quick weekend in the city. We're still on the bus back to DC but couldn't wait to post another rave review about Ssameer. It was easy to set things up, he helped us find our way to his place (how we got lost when he lives a block from the subway is beoynd me!), and was super friendly - right away he invited us to a cool invite only art party. One of the most pleasant stays in New York City I've had! My girlfriend and I were looking for something cheap, comfortable, and convenient, and Ssameer's place fit the bill on all three. Safe neighborhood, super close to the subway, and wonderful assortment of eateries.
Ssameer is a great host. He gave us a warm welcome, didn't place any unreasonable restrictions, and was an overall sweet and chill guy.

Ssameer was a delight to be around and made the process very easy. The room was clean, basic and comfortable and I'd gladly stay there again or recommend the space to others. Best value in the city, and a neat neighborhood, too. Be sure to check out the Riverbank park while you're there, as well as the great, cheap, eateries on Broadway.
If you are looking for mints on your pillow and cheesy tourist attractions, stay at the Marriott in Times Square. If you want a clean, secure room in a laid-back environment, and possibly to get to know some real New Yorkers, stay with Sameer! Ssameer is friendly, courteous and accommodating. The apt is extremely warm, but that's just steam heat in an apt bldg. The beds are serviceable, and the bathroom is clean. Shower has plenty of hot water. We were also comfortable in the neighborhood, and as advertised, the subway entrance is a short 1-1/2 blocks away @ Hamilton Place and Broadway. Liked Saameer's place very much. Stayed there with my wife for 4 nights. Communication with Saameer is easy, answers phone and emails promptly. He was very polite and friendly. Never bothered us one bit. Was never annoyed at all my inquiries....just chill. The other rommie was also chill as hell. Everyone was quiet and I slept like a fricking baby.
Location is super convenient. Just take the 1 train 1 block away and eat at innexpensive Dominican dinners uptown for cheap and tasty food.... More »
Ssameer is a very polite and uncomplicated person. He is a real foodie :-) and can provide you with many of information about any kind of restaurant you are looking for. I stayed for 15 days in his apartment. It is clean, cosy, quite and it has everything you need incl. wifi. Public transportations are just around the corner and it takes about 20-30 minutes to be in the middle of action in NY. 30$ for the private room is really worth it and in addition it has a very comfy mattress.
