Thanks Wendy and Mike for giving us the opportunity to stay in your cozy beach cottage, we loved every minute. The thought you have put into the decor really enhances the beachside ambience. The area is fantastic with the beach, pier, and eclectic street shopping area close by, as well as the 21 mile bike path to Santa Monica - a must to cycle when in LA (it really is not too far, if you allow a whole day with lots of stops, it gives you a real feel for the area.) Mike and Wendy were great hosts. When I arrived they were dealing with a family emergency, but they took the time to make sure I was sorted and had enough information about the location, food/drink, etc in the area. The bike was great for riding along the oceanside bike path. They were very hospitable people and went out of their way to make me feel comfortable. My husband and I stayed at the Burnham Beach Cottage cottage for 3 nights during our visit to Los Angeles. Let me start by saying that this place was wonderful! The cottage is situated in a quiet residential area that is a short distance to the beach and stores. It is a one bedroom, one bathroom cottage with a small but full kitchen. This is an amazing place to stay! It's a very nice house, a beautiful neighborhood & I felt super comfi from the beginning... It's like beeing at a friends place. Wendy gave me her bike so I rode along the beaches and it is just an awesome place to be. Sunshine & the LA-feeling are guaranteed. In addition to a quintessential L.A. location -- Redondo Beach -- in a brilliant Craftsman home . . . Wendy & Michael are transcendent hosts. The Burnham Beach Cottages are charming, cozy and spacious. Mike and Wendy were the most gracious hosts and went above and beyond to make sure we had all that we needed. They had bikes for us to ride, which is a must do in Redondo Beach. This is a great location and is perfect for exploring the area. The bed was so comfortable! The kitchen was well equipped for us to make a nice dinner with our Farmer's Market findings. My only complaint is that I wish we had the chance to stay longer!

We loved staying at the Burnham Beach Cottage. The place is so sweet and is so beautifully appointed. It had everything we needed for a relaxing getaway. Including a beautiful and large claw-foot tub to soak in. We especially enjoyed the outdoor spaces including a fire pit and a hammock. Very close to the beach and pier and some good restaurants. Definitely recommend this place...we'll be back!

I had such a wonderful stay with Mike and Wendy. They were very clear in their instructions, very generous with their time and space, offered great suggestions for places to eat, things to see and do, let me borrow their bike for an epic ride along the coast. The place is at a lovely spot not far away from the beach and The Pier - so it is a cleaner, quieter area of LA but with good access to many things. My only regret is that I couldn't stay longer.

This is my second time staying with Mike and Wendy. This is a great solution for me as I am in LA often and Mike and Wendy make me feel right a home. Great location with lots of good food nearby and easy parking right out front. Room is clean and comfy.

We were celebrating our 20th anniversary and were greeted with a beautifully clean place, lots of fresh flowers, and a bottle of champagne and truffles. We only had two nights left in California following a round trip over three weeks. The cottages are lovely, all those nice touches everywhere, with Wendy leaving fresh flowers just as we checked in. With the weather being unusually cool and windy we spent the first day with family in L.A. and had the last night and day to ourselves, which was great as we rented bikes from Mike and got to know the neighborhood. It was lovely to have a home away from home. The hosts and the accomodations were charming and friendly...What a beautiful example of a lovingly restored "Craftsman house". This was my first experience with airbnb and so happy I chose the Burnham beach house. Mike and Wendy are gracious, friendly and wonderful hosts, as well as Freedom and Julius (their four-legged children :). I felt very welcomed and comfortable in their beautiful home. A perfect spot in Redondo Beach. I was in town for a wedding and felt thoroughly at home with Michael and Wendy. Relaxed, conversational, respectful, generous, and well-traveled! Fantastic hosts who went above and beyond to help us have the best vacation possible. They were very keen to see us settle and to help us get our bearing's on the area and suggest what thing's we should try to do in the few day's we had in the area. The Burnham House is a quaint home where you can unwind. My overall impression of Redondo Beach is it's peaceful out there. Come if you want to stay somewhere away from the hustle and bustle of LA. Plus, Hermosa Beach is close by which is great for a proper jog in the mornings. Mike was a good host. Very chill and hospitable. Met some of his neighbors and I felt welcome in his home. If you need an affordable, clean, safe, and friendly place to stay, this is definitely it.

Wendy & Mike were just amazing--we arrived very, very late around 1130 PM, and Mike was there to greet us!! :D We have 3 children, and although it was a tight fit, Wendy provided us with an extra little floor bed for our 10 year old. Mike and Wendy are easygoing couple, their place (guestroom) is nice, clean and sunny. Location is also great, just two blocks from the beach, a lot of restaurants, bars and shops around. Just keep on mind that bathroom is not attached to the guestroom, it is downstairs next to the kitchen, but it is not big deal.

The set up at Burnham was unique. The cottage was a simple design with the aura of an early 1900's American cottage but with conveniences. Very clean and perfect for a retreat in an urban setting, with easy access by car to all that exists in the greater Los Angeles area. I just finished a very comfortable stay at Mike and Wendy's home. As soon as you arrive you are made to feel right at home, and are provided with a small but comfortable room in which to enjoy your stay. The house is very conveniently located right near the beach and Pacific Coast Hwy for easy access to almost anywhere. I would certainly recommend their guest house to anyone looking for a little peace and quite, but also never too far from all that southern California has to offer.

Wendy and Michael get TEN stars! That's first off and perhaps the best to share. I have not met (and I'm no kid!) any other "B&B" hosts as welcoming. The cute "BBC2" cottage gets an able 4 stars. They were available to answer all our questions and the cottage is a comfortable place to stay while in the LA area. We were busy every day but at the end of the day, retreated to this lovely quiet space....with free parking (unlike the hotels) and easy proximity to the beach. All in all, a great place to be!

This is an ideal place to stay if you're in the LA area for work or play or both: close to the beach, close to buses, easy access to expressways if you're driving, bike paths nearby. Julius the kitty cat and Freedom the big dog make it feel like home, as do the friendly neighbors and Mike and Wendy's non-intrusive but friendly hosting style. I'll definitely be back.

Wendy and Mike opened up their second cottage for nightly stays. Both are really great as though they are close to Redondo Pier both are quiet and private. Located away from the street in the backyard of a main house, but fully self contained in a little oasis. I've been doing allot of riding on the Strand which is the path along the beaches. Borrow one of their bikes.
