Jer and I are baby boomers with 5 sons, 4 daughters-in-law and 7 grandchildren. We are easy-going and spiritually eclectic. We love hiking, camping, gardening, yoga, kirtan and baking (lucky for you!).
We have an aging dog, Bisbee, who will bark when you first arrive - her way of greeting. Jer's writing a novel. We both take care of two of the grandkids and bake for the B&B. I am currently job-hunting again, looking for something part-time within the nonprofit world as a grant writer or fundraiser.

Easy walking distance to the Fairhaven district and also close to trails. We enjoyed a beautiful 5-mile run through the woods. The apartment is wonderful and gets lots of light, the hostess is very pleasant, and she gave us home-made bread for breakfast! This experience is so much better than staying at a hotel!

Saralee and Jerry were wonderful hosts. They’re downstairs apartment was perfect for our visit to Bellingham. It has a very comfortable bed along with a little kitchen and bathroom. They even made us homemade bagels! We got hit by a snow storm while there and before we had even started to pack the car to leave, they had already cleared the driveway. I would definitely recommend staying there.

I needed a place kind of last minute and was so excited when this one popped up as available. It was exactly what I needed for my last two nights of a long trip before I got to head home. Quiet at night, neat, comfy bed, privacy, kitchen that had little extras like some fruit and staples in the fridge...and the little treats that would "appear" while I was out, like homemade shortbread cookies, were just right. It is definitely a place I would visit again my next trip out!

We had a peaceful, cozy stay over the New Year's weekend. The bread and granola were delicious and the orange juice fairy kept us stocked on OJ all weekend. We were an easy walk from Fairhaven in a quiet, pretty neighborhood. Sara and Jerry were very kind and accommodating about our later than planned arrival and made our stay generally awesome.

Hi Sara and Jerry, Thanks for the very pleasant stay. Our daughter wanted to stay an extra night. We enjoyed the convenience and privacy of the little suite - it really worked for us. And, you are right, we did not mind the weather though the sudden appearance of the rain and wind surprised us at times. We continue to enjoy Bellingham and hope to visit again soon. Place was exactly as described. Cute, warm, quiet, comfortable. There are about 20 movies to watch and full cable. Saralee and Jerry were very nice and offered to let me use the laundry. Easy to get to off the freeway and close to the little downtown. I stay in 4 star hotels for work all the time, and this was a very nice and refreshing change. Highly recommended.

Seamless experience. Talk to Jerry for a couple minutes when we arrived, and then never saw them again (of course it was a warm welcome, and an open door if we wanted to). A delicious homemade bagel and granola breakfast was ready the night before, no coordination required.

This is an amazing place to stay. They pictures are completely accurate and it is immaculately clean. Saralee and Jerry were very patient and gracious with our showing up late. They are true to their word that they can accommodate diets. They provided vegan spread and coconut milk for me and regular milk and butter for my fiance. Lovely lovely quiet private retreat in Bellingham. The suite meets every need and is in an excellent location for walks to historic Fairhaven. This is a great place to stay and relax- bed is incredibly comfortable. Sara and Jerry are great hosts!

The location of the studio couldn't be beat, and both Saralee and Jerry were very welcoming and helpful in terms of where to have dinner, location of things around their place, etc. The interior is nicely done with a functional small kitchen. The only thing for us was that we'd wanted to sleep in a bit, and the bedroom itself is underneath their home. However, if you're an early riser - or a sound sleeper - it wouldn't be an issue.

Saralee is a fabulous host! The studio apartment was everything we could have hoped for and so much more; a perfect stay for our short visit in Fairhaven/Bellingham. We could walk to restaurants, coffee, shopping, and the annual Fairhaven street festival that was taking place the day we arrived. We hope to stay at Saralee's studio during another trip to the area, and would highly recommend her to others traveling through her neck of the woods.

We couldn't have asked for anything better than the cozy apartment and the friendly and attentive host, Saralee. The studio is completely private with its own entrance and one can park in the driveway right by the door. The historic part of Bellingham - known as Fairhaven - is just a short walk (or drive) and is full of interesting shops and restaurants. We would definitely stay here again when in the area.

Being the first time we had ever used airbnb, we were a bit trepidatious. This all ended from the first contact via email to the day we said goodbye. We visited Bellingham and stayed at Saralee's. We found the accommodations very comfortable, Sara and Jerry are very gracious hosts. The home-baked bread, granola, fresh fruit and other goodies were a very nice addition to our stay. I would recommend this place to all of my friends although I would let them know that the busy rustle and bustle of their home in the morning maybe a problem for light sleepers that enjoy sleeping in. It was perfect for our needs! Very cozy and comfortable. We enjoyed the creatively tiled shower and interesting books and games! The granola and energy bars were terrific and Saralee and Jerry were very hospitable though we arrived late and left early. We hope to stay there again.

The most comfortable bed, room for me to continue some work at my computer while I was in Bellingham and the most wonderful granola and breads, as well as the coffee, milk and juice the kitchen was outfitted with. The studio is, in fact, adorable - very comfortable and has everything you need, plus it's close to everything that Fairhaven has to offer. Saralee is a sweetheart, and her baked goods are downright delicious. We brought our toddler as well, and they were ready with toys and videos to help keep her entertained. My two elderly parents so appreciated their homey stay even though they were there very little. It is just up the street from where we live and the perfect "guest house" for our large family gathering - the easy entrance and convenient bath/bed arrangement were important to my Mom who uses a walker. They are already talking about staying there each time they come to town to visit.

I was treated to homemade granola, bread and energy bars for the days on the slopes. All excellent. They went above and beyond welcoming me to share their Thanksgiving with them. What an amazing place to be. We did not have much chance to talk to Saralee other than when we arrived. There was fresh baked bread and homemade energy bars. Very warm welcome. We recently had a great stay at their lovely place while visiting Bellingham for a wedding. The place has everything that you need and more like fresh baked scones, fresh fruit, Granola (that she makes), Milk, juice and Coffee and much more. Also a nice collection of DVDs to watch during a morning morning of Rain. Miles better than any Hotel and stroll down the street to Fairhaven.

Perfect location close to Fairhaven and WWU; if you don't mind walking a bit, downtown Bellingham is within walking distance too. The lodging was clean and comfortable - we felt completely able to relax. Sara made sure we had plenty of provisions during our stay and replenished the stock as needed. We especially enjoyed the "energy" bars - yum! As a previous reviewer mentioned, the shower is a bit small for larger individuals, but worked out for us. Overall we had a good stay and recommend it!

We spent the night in Bellingham before taking the ferry to Juneau and were delighted with our stay at Saralee's BnB. This was our first experience with airbnb and we are hooked. The apartment is lovely and in a great location. Saralee is a charming and gracious hostess and we highly recommend that you stay here when in the area.

The studio is exactly as advertised and is a terrific value. Sara had freshly baked bread, granola, apples, bananas, milk and juice all ready for me. If I ever come back to Bellingham, this is definitely where I will stay. Very tall people might have trouble with the shower, which has a bit of a low ceiling, but I am 5 feet 4 and was fine with it. This was a delightful space in which to spend my down time while vacationing in Bellingham. Quiet, peaceful neighborhood that is within walking distance to the historic district of downtown Fairhaven. Fresh fruit and home baked goodies where provided by hosts, and the kitchenette was adequate for all my needs. Comfy bed, clean, and quiet.

We really enjoyed the Studio Apartment. All was very clean and comfortable. The location was perfect for us since we love to walk and ride bikes. The fresh baked loaf of bread was warm when we arrived and the refrigerator had organic jam and butter. Yum! We enjoyed having organic fruit and granola stocked as well. Saralee and Jer's studio is a great and affordable place to stay while in Bellingham. You can't beat the hospitality...or the granola and organic fruits. Saralee's studio is comfortable and convenient to Fairhaven Historic Downtown and to the ferry terminal too. It is not too far from Western Washington University, which has wonderful outdoor sculptures. We walked a lot! Good thing since we also enjoyed home baked challa bread and chocolate cup cakes made by Saralee.

This is a sweet, private studio that has everything one would need. Saralee makes it very easy to simply "show up" and have a cozy and comfortable place to stay. She is thoughtful and kind. The house is very close to I-5 and is not hard to find. The price is right too! I highly recommend staying there and certainly would stay there again myself.
