I love the District and sharing all the local gems it has to offer, from swing dancing evenings in a former embassy to the very affordable hidden six-seat restaurant where an idiosyncratic local Thai chef cooks personalized meals for his guests. My job and PhD program keep me on my toes, so when I'm in town, it's always a wonderful respite to get to meet fellow travelers and share stories and recommendations for food, galleries, parks, museums, and walking spots. Plus, after enjoying getting to travel like a local around the world through AirBnB and making some good friends through the process, I'm completely addicted to this website and the great community of travelers who use it!
Very good, easy experience. Though I did not have the chance to meet Ayeh in person, everything went smoothly and the house is a lovely retreat. The lliving room is very welcoming, the bed is comfortable and the kitchen is worthy of a gourmet chef. I would definitely stay again.
January 2012Ayeh was a fantastic host, with a lovely home, quite close to the convention center, and only a short walk to china town. I had a great time.
Ayeh respond to me although i did it the last minute. she was super organized and helped me with every detail i needed. the house was convinced and was located it the perfect location. Thank you!
Ayeh was very sweet and greeted me when I arrived. She made sure I was situated and gave me some restaurant recommendations. The room and bathroom were very neat and clean and I felt very comfortable as I came and went each day. This is a great place to stay near city hub with gracious host.
Very nice place, would come back again !
All worked according to plan and the house is great, as other reviewers have said. Easy access to tranist (buses and trains). Had a restful and easy stay. Thanks Ayeh! I will be back!
Rowhouse is 4 blocks away from the Convention Center. I was there for a meeting and all of the surrounding hotels had "special meeting rates" between $300 and $400 a night which I thought was a bit absurd when only looking for a bed. Rowhouse fit the bill perfectly with a comfortable bed, bathroom, (livingroom and kitchen I didn't use much) within walking distance of the conference.
We stayed at Ayeh’s in Washington DC and enjoyed a lot the trip. The house is really well located, near 2 subway stations and also walking distance to stores, bars and pubs. Ayeh was very helpful and everything went perfect. I highly recommend staying at Ayeh’s
Ayeh's wonderful rowhouse was great for us. Maybe this is TMI but three of us coming for the 50th anniversary of the Peace Corps celebrations wanted to be able to spend time together as we had 45 years ago, drinking coffee in the morning and talking about Life without having to go to a hotel coffee shop. The rowhouse is in one of DC's many eclectic and vibrant neighborhoods with easy access to the Metro and snagging a taxi if you need one. Ayeh also approved of our idea to have Peace Corps... More »
Love love love-helped me out in a pinch and the place is fabulous. No negative thing to say. Comfortable, beautiful. Thank you!
The hose was exactly what I expected, and Ayeh was really helpful with giving information about the city and places to eat. She was also easy to contact, and helped solved a problem that I ran into. Great place to stay and great host.
Ayeh's place was a retreat from my long work meeting and the rain and humidity of DC. She's got lots of style-- I love the red brick interior! I got to talk a little with Ayeh and she was very helpful in giving me some good eats recommendations for my next stop in NYC.
Ayeh has an awesome place in a great location, a superb value. She also goes to the trouble of making sure there's fresh sheets and everything is tidy, kind of like mid to top tier hotel service. She's lovely and smart to talk to. Oh, and she's got one of those cool locks that allows her to share a "secret code" with you, so you don't have to explain how you lost the key to her apartment while you were tromping around DC.
The rowhouse is absolutely beautiful and in a great location. The price is well worth the stay too. Even out of town, Ayeh was easy to communicate with and made sure everything was taken care of for us. The only downside was the bed wasn't as comfortable as I hoped for. Overall, I would definitely and happily stay here again!
Second time here and it is JUST WONDERFUL. We actually rented the whole house for a team planning meeting. From the big dining table (we used for conference) to the amazing living room, great kitchen... it was just perfect. Members of our team plan to return to DC with their families and stay in Ayeh's place.
A beautiful house, 15 mins walk from the center of town. It was very clean and comfortable and Ayeh was a friendly and helpful host, even though she was away at the time. Highly recommended.
Ayeh's place is nice and everything she told us was accurate and helpful. Would be greatful to stay at her place again, The room we stayed in was not the one in the picture and the bed was a full size which is a little small for my wife and I this was a little upsetting. We had to clean up the bathroom because Ayeh's was gone when her last guests checked out and she was gone the entire time we were there. The privacy was a very fair trade off for the inconvience of cleaning and "self... More »
It was wonderful to spend our first time in Washington and in the USA at Ayeh's row house! Everything was very nice and clean. In addition, we were in walking distance of public transport, which was extreemly convenient since we were there only for three days (too short!!). There was also this cafè near by that we totally fell in love with; Busboys and Poets.
Ayeh's apartment is one of the rare places that look even better in person than they do in the pictures. I arrived to a spacious, ultra-clean, and modern apartment, fully equipped with a very cool and safe schlage lock system. The apartment has great natural light, comfortable living area, and a clean, sturdy bed. It's also conveniently located near the DC Metro making the entire city easily accessible. Most importantly, Ayeh was an extremely friendly, welcoming and informative... More »
Dear Ayeh ! Sorry for the delay in my evaluation ! We had a very good show , so we have come back with a lot of work !!!! It was fantastic to stay at your home during that week ! we were very comfortable because of you have a wonderful home !!!! For us was perfect to finish the show and to take only five minutes to arrive to your house ( the taxis cola queues when the show finished were horrible !! ) Also , we discovered a very nice place to have the breakfast between your ... Had a great stay. Ayeh shared the whole house (including well stocked kitchen and travel maps/books)freely....including setting up a guest account on the PC so we could surf travel spots and conduct other business. She put the cherry on top of your stay with some local/insider suggestions that turned out to be among the highlights of our trip. Jaleo and Thai X-ing were a treat. Overall...Very nice. The house is super cute and comfy with safe/convenient access to DC. Thanks Ayeh.
Ayeh place is wonderful, three blocks from the convention center and at a walking distance to movie theaters, buses and subway. She was very kind to let us use the kitchen. My daughter and I had fresh salad with veggies that we bought at a supermarket just one block away. We were just sorry we could not meet Ayeh this time, aswe were at the convention all day from 7am. We will definitely consider staying at Ayeh's place on our next trip to Washington. Thank you, Ayeh!!!
This was our first experience with airbnb. And it will for sure not be our last. The communication with Ayeh via email was excellent and everything worked out better as we hoped it would.
Ayen is a very nice lady! My friend and i had a really good time in DC!
I stayed at Ayeh's rowhouse while I was in town for work. It was very clean, easy to find and lovely. I didn't really use the rest of the house too much as it was just me, but the kitchen and main floor looked cozy and accessible. It was exactly what I was looking for, a clean room in a quiet house (Ayeh was out of town during my 4 day stay) and even quieter neighborhood. The location is very convenient, only a couple blocks to two Metro stops and quite a few food options. I had last-minute... More »
Ayeh's apartment is beautiful and the bed was super comfortable. The photo is not of the room I stayed in, but I was very happy. Ayeh's instructions made the entire process very easy and I would not hesitate to stay here again.
I had a great stay in DC thanks to Ayeh. Her place was very comfortable and she was quite accommodating. She sent me a long email before I arrived with a ton of information including a list of places to eat around her house - it was a really nice touch. I'm glad I got a chance to meet her in person - she was wonderful and interesting to talk with. I would recommend her place without hesitation.
The apartment is in a good location (NW DC) only a few blocks from a Metro-station. We felt safe walking around the area. The apartment was nice and clean. It was easy to come and go.And most of all Ayeh was a great host. She gave us tips for things to do and for restaurants even before we got there. We had nice conversations with Ayeh and Ralph and some of their friends in the evenings. I can definately recommend staying here.
Thanks Ayeh. Great place, loved the location, and the easy way to come and go. I would definitely stay here again. A really nice space which felt like home.
Wonderful stay in a great location close to the metro and walking distance to almost everything.
Great place, got the room at the last minute. Ayeh was not there, however, she was more than curteous and friendly over the phone. Will definetly recommend to eveyone. It's pretty close to Chinatown and close to capital bikeshare stands. Very very clean place. I must also add that the contemporary decoration was very cool.
Ayeh is a very kind and accommodating host. My trip to Washington DC was hasty and mostly for business but I enjoyed every minute of my stay. I only regret was not planning my trip to stay longer. When I arrived Ayeh gave me a list of all the local places to eat and visit. I tried one of those local places in China Town (only a walk away) and was very pleased. Her Row house was even closer to the Convention Center Metro line and that is where my business meeting was at. I would definitely... More »
Ayeh was a friendly host. She gave us tips and recommendations on things to see in the area. We could also borrow guides and maps from her. The place is quiet, spacious and decorated with taste. Ayeh is very responsive in case you need her. I highly recommend this place.
Really great house and such an easy set up! Loved the quiet calm of the arrangement and the house is truly beautiful.
I really enjoyed my stay at Ayeh's house. It's a very charming and inviting place with a great atmosphere in an interesting neighbourhood close to downtown, which is in walking distance (15-20 minutes). Unfortunately, Ayeh and I never met in person, as she had to travel when I was in DC. However, she was extremely helpful with providing all the necessary information, including great tips about the city and where to eat, and arranging everything so that I had a smooth start. Should I have the... More »
Ayeh's property was as lovely as it appears in the photographs. It's within walking distance of the wonderful Dupont Circle area, and Ayeh was fantastically helpful in helping plan the trip. Thanks so much! Highly recommended!
Great house in great position. Ayeh responsive and helpful.
The place was great and very convenient for my meeting at the DC Convention Center, with Chinatown and many restaurants quite accessible. Ayeh was a superb hostess.
We've stayed at Ayeh's place for two nights this February. Her house is very comfortable, so was the room we stayed in. It wasn't the room displayed in the pictures, but it was very cosy, with a private bathroom right next door. Even though Ayeh was very busy and couldn't meet us for check-in personally, she took very good care of us. She provided us with several guide books and tons of great dining suggestions, even as far as Philadelphia, which was our next stop. The location of the... More »
Ayeh was a wonderful hostess, and the apartment was very comfortable!
Ayeh's place is great - she was super accommodating even though she was out of town. Incredibly warm too, considering the 20 degree temps that were logged outside. Her place is sort of in a dicier area but its close enough to the Metro that you can zip off wherever you please. About a 20 minute walk from U Street.
Ayeh and Ralph were very accomodating hosts. Not having used Airbnb before, we did not know what to expect, but Ayeh and Ralph have made us raving fans of Airbnb! Their home is very nice with many modern/contemporary updates. The bedroom where we stayed is cozy, yet comfortable. The full size bed fit us just fine and the closet space had ample room. Bathroom was clean and well-appointed and directly adjacent to the bedroom. The location was perfect for us. Only 3 blocks from the Metro (5... More »

Ayeh and Ralph were excellent hosts! I was busy during the days with a conference but spent the nights having cool conversations with them until very late in the night. They were both super hospitable (made me cupcakes one night) and very helpful with advice about local places. I would recommend the Rowhouse and its hosts... More »
I had a wonderful stay at the Row House. Ayeh and Ralph are wonderful hosts they are warm and friendly as the other reviewers have stated. The location provides easy access to public transportation to get to all of the main sites, and if you need some munchies or good cappuccino that isn't from Starbucks they are all within two blocks. I would definitely stay with them again if I get a chance to return to DC in the future.
Ayah and Ralph were fantastic hosts, and made us feel incredibly welcome. Lovely room in a great house, an easy walk to the DC Mall and Chinatown. They kindly lent us some DC guide books with great restaurants and places of interest pencilled in, and also spent the time to share tea with us. It felt more like staying with friends than with strangers! Thanks again Ayah and Ralph!
Ayeh was a a great host, responsive and welcoming. She especially helped us by going out of her way to get a visitor's parking permit for the weekend! The room and bathroom, though not as clean and well-aired as I had expected, served us well and were pretty convenient to what we needed to do in the city.
We had an excellent overall experience with Ayeh. Ayeh provided directions to her house and other useful information on Washington well in advance of our arrival. Ayeh was not there during our stay but left the keys in the postbox and our room was ready when we arrived. The rowhouse was clean, located within a short walk from a metro stop and equipped with everything we needed. Ayeh provided some helpful information on Washington and even some guide books. We had a wonderful time at Ayeh's home. It is so convenient to all the places you will want to visit in DC. She was so helpful in planning our stay. The bed was comfortable, sheets 100% cotton, and the room had private access to the roof. She thoughtfully put guidebooks in the room, and had snacks & my favorite yogurt in the fridge. If you are trying to find a place to stay in DC....look no more!
The apartment is great! It was very clean and comfortable. Ayeh was very helpful. Thanks!
Ayeh is a great host with lots of helpful info and recommendations for those visiting DC. Her home is spacious and bright, and close to good transport links for getting around DC. Ayeh is friendly and kind, but she'll also give you privacy, which is sometimes nice when you're staying in someone else's home.
Ayeh was the perfect host, making us feel welcome and helping us with any questions we had. The house is beautiful and in a great location. Highly recommended, thanks for a great stay.
Ayeh is an extremly nice, caring and reliable person. When we arrived, she was out of town and couldn't be there to welcome us. So she left a handwritten note with the keys near the apartment, provided snacks for us in the kitchen and even managed to give us recommendations by putting a few guidebooks to D.C. on our pillows. She also helped us with getting around town and we enjoyed being around her very much. However, I can't give our experience the full five stars because the house next... More »
Ayeh could not have been a better host. Her restaurant recommendations were spot on, her home is beautiful, and it is hard to imagine someone more accommodating. I had a fantastic time in DC, in no small part because I stayed with Ayeh.
You could not ask for a more accommodating and gracious host than Ayeh. Her place is well-situated, but restful. She has an encyclopedic knowledge of bars, restaurants, and museums in DC, which we made full use of. I can't wait to stay with her again, and can't imagine picking a hotel over Ayeh's place given the option.
Super! Great person, wonderful lodging, easy to find, easy to get to Washington sights.
I stayed in Ayeh's beautifully-designed contemporary house in the heat of the Washington summer for a week. It was cool clean and comfortable with a quiet room and great mattress. Although it's not a tourist area it is very central, 5 minutes from the metro and on a direct bus route to Georgetown. Coming from the UK to live in DC, I couldn't have chosen a better place to stay because of Ayeh's hospitality- she even offered to view an apartment for me before I arrived. What more can I say?
Staying with Ayeh during our visit to DC was a pleasure for my wife and I. Upon entering the house you will be struck by how beautiful and well maintained it is. There is a large open kitchen and living room. The room is comfy and has space to hang up your clothes. The bed is a good size for two people and comfortable. Ayeh was very welcoming and we enjoyed talking with her and her boyfriend. We had a car and they even got us a visitor parking pass, which was really above and beyond. The... More »

This was our first airbnb experience and we had a wonderful time! The room/bathroom was very clean and cozy. Ayeh had great recommendations for everything we wanted to do! We had a wonderful time.
First experience with airbnb & we had a wonderful time! Ayeh was a terrific host and gave us all kinds of useful information about places to go, things to do and places to eat. She has a lovely home, in a very convenient location, and our room was quiet, cosy and cool.
Very nice room, not the one featured in the picture but very cosy and we had our own clean bathroom. Very snazzy apartment, nice interaction with Ayeh, exactly what we were hoping for.
Ayeh was great, incredibly friendly and provided advice for me regarding grad studies in the US. Her place in Washington is not far from two train stations and near one of the circulator stops. It's a beautiful clean homey place with a big kitchen, great open space down stairs and the bedroom available upstairs is very comfortable. Would definitely stay there again and enjoyed the experience.
My husband and I enjoyed staying in the rowhouse very much. It was a great location for the sightseeing we wanted to do. Wish we had been able to meet Ayeh during our stay, but we hope to come back soon!
This was my first "gig" with airbnb, and I still can't believe what a WONDERFUL experience it was. Ayeh was the perfect host, the house was immaculate (I LOVE the brick), and it was an easy walk to downtown and the Metro. The only downside was not having more time to enjoy it! Thanks again, Ayeh!
Nice, quiet stay. The room I stayed in isn't pictured, but it was clean and comfortable. I had some problems with the internet connection- but Ayeh adjusted my laptop settings and got me online. Great alternative to a costly hotel!
Thank you Ayeh. I had a great stay at your home. I recommend you for everyone.
Ayeh was very welcoming and accommodating. Her beautiful home is convenient for staying in DC, and I would definitely recommend her place for anyone traveling to DC.
Ayeh was very friendly and helpful in finding a local ethiopian restaurant. Her home is beautiful and close to bus, metro and a grocery store is a couple of blocks away, a rarity for me at Bed and Breakfast in the past. She has no TV but I used wireless to watch some shows on my laptop.
Thank you Ayeh for sharing your place with us! We had a very peaceful stay!
Ayeh was a gracious host, providing lots of information specific for our plans and providing for our needs. A very favourable 1st experience with airbnb and will come back to Washington and Ayeh's rowhouse again!
I enjoyed meeting Ayeh and staying in her home...the location was excellent for me. This was my first experience with Airbnb and I'm glad it was shared with Ayeh. She was most helpful and gracious. I will use Airbnb again. Ron S.
Ayeh was very heplful with information on DC. Her place is absolutely beautiful and clean! She was also kind enough to leave out some breakfast and snacks for me.
Ayeh and Ralph were terrific. The first evening, Ayeh invited me to join their friends, which I did for awhile and had a lively, interesting discussion with people who are world travelers and care about making the world a better place. The room and bathroom were clean, pleasant, absolutely perfect. When I arrived, Ayeh had left a copy of a book about DC for me, which I used every day. Ayeh was incredibly courteous and her place was ideal. Very spacious, clean and a great kitchen if you prefer cooking in. A close walk to Chinatown or U street, it served as an ideal spot to stay. Will definitely look into staying again.
Ayeh was a great host, very informative and knowledgeable about the city. She was very accommodating, and even helped us get a parking permit for our 5 day stay. Her home is well decorated and clean, and the room we stayed in was very comfortable. The location of her apartment was very convenient. It took about 20 minutes to walk to U-street for food and fun. And we even walked to the Mall, which took about 30 minutes.
It was an absolute pleasure staying with Ayeh. Her house is spacious, clean and conveniently located within walking distance of the Metro (5 minutes) and fun areas for food and entertainment (U Street, 20 minutes). We also enjoyed our stay in DC while at Ayeh's. She has ridiculous amount of space. We loved the fact that we felt comfortable navigating through the apartment. Parking was easy an it was a 4.50 cab ride right to the heart of the city. She is a very warm woman and very accommodating. Thanks for the great stay and museum recomendations! Cheers.
We enjoyed the time with Ayeh in Washington very much. She was a woderful host and gave us the best tips for exploring the city in just one day ever. We would come back every time to enjoy another relaxing stay at her beautiful place. Thank you so much!!!
My 14 y.o. niece, her best friend and I stayed with Ayeh for two nights. It was a short notice request and she was quick to accomadate our request. We drove into town and she went out of her way to ensure I had a parking pass so I wouldn't get a ticket. Overall wonderful experience.
I stayed at Ayeh's place in March, and it was a pleasure. Easy to find, and easy access to metro, coffee shop, and grocery store. Ayeh was a great host and their place is clean and comfortable.
Ayeh is a gracious and accommodating host. Her home has an urban sophistication and is conveniently located near the capital. The bedroom and attached private bathroom were spacious and clean. The only disadvantage is that her home is near a noisy street. Ron & Robyn 1/09
Ayeh was a great guest!! Very quiet and friendly her whole stay. We had breakfast her first morning in town and I really enjoyed chatting with her. I am a bit newer to airbnb and she gave me some great tips. Thanks Ayeh!! Glo
June 2011Great guests! I highly recommend
Ayeh, Was the perfect guest. Very easy going and friendly. I enjoyed meeting Ayeh and hosting her as well as her friends here at the Inn. We would love it if she would choose to stay with us when she returns to Boston!
Ayeh is an intelligent delightful person and a pleasure to have around!
Ayeh was a great guest. Quiet and respectful. I would love to host her again.
While Ayeh's specialty is hosting at her home in DC, she is just as amazing as a guest. I had the extreme pleasure of hosting her and Ralph in my Silverlake home while they were visiting Los Angeles. Ayeh exudes friendliness and a peaceful state of being, and was very complimentary and appreciative of my home. She and Ralph left everything spotless, and were both very charming. If my travels take me to DC, I will definitely request a booking at Ayeh's Rowhouse, and I would welcome her... More »
