I've been doing Airbnb since April 2010. So far It's been a great way to meet new people from all over the world and also make extra bucks for my next travel.

I'm a travel junkie, my goal is to one day quit my job and just backpacking around the world for a year or two. I've been to many countries: most of SE Asia, China, Tibet, Nepal,India, S Korea, Morocco, UAE, some of the European countries, and many more. When I'm not traveling - I'm a tourist in my own town, there are still many places in DC that I haven't seen and discovered even though I've been living here for almost 10 years.

DC is a great area, there are so many things to see and do around here.

I'm kinda nerdy, I also love reading, listening to music and playing with electronic gadgets :D

THE BEST PLACE IN THE DC AREA. CLOSE TO BALLSTON METRO 4 min walk. Close to Mall, Bars and restaurants. The Best Hostess in the world, big bed, clean,, quiet, . She even gave me welcome Stella Beers.. I am staying here again.. and again when in the area.

Maya was out of town when I arrived. She arranged for a friend to meet me at the Ballston Metro and show me the apartment, a nicety I hadn't expected. The apartment had everything I needed: bed, desk, clean kitchen with breakfast supplies, wi-fi, TV, bathroom with towels, a closet for my stuff. If you use the website correctly and look at the pictures of Maya's place, you will clearly see that your sleeping area is in the front room, between the front door and the kitchen. I didn't look at the pics, so I was surprised, to put it mildly. I couldn't imagine how this situation could work for my husband and me, but Maya is such a terrific hostess and stood by her statement that we wouldn't know she was in the apartment. Maya was very hospitable and welcoming. I was especially impressed with the detailed directions she sent me. I also booked the night before my arrival but she was totally prepared for me despite the last minute arrangement. It was super clean and as advertised a short walk to the Metro stop.

This is a wonderful place for anybody coming to DC. My son and I were staying there for five days. It was so convenient to live so close to the metro station and close to the main attractions. We were able to visit all the places we planned to see and even more. It was one of the most fruitful and interesting visit in my life!

Maya is absolutely wonderful!! Even before we arrived, she sent us detailed directions and links to things to do in the dc area. When we arrived, she met us right outside the metro to give us a key. Her home is beautiful and very clean! It's in a great neighborhood and very close to the metro. During our stay, Maya went above and beyond to make us comfortable. This is a great place and an even better person!!! Highly reccomended!!

I was just in DC for a couple of days to see the sites and Maya was the perfect host for that. she has ample tourism info in her house, she lives very close to the metro, the place was very clean and comfortable, and Maya was incredibly helpful. i would definitely recommend her to other travelers.

This was my first experience w/ Airbnb and it was great! I couldn't have asked for a better host. Maya was very kind and easy to get along with. I thought it would be really weird, but it was the exact opposite. Staying w/ Maya was way better than staying at a hotel.

Maya was wonderful. She was warm, helpful, clean, quiet, and respectful of my boyfriend and I. Maya had a kitchen stocked full of food for us and a table top piled high with brochures, coupons, and maps. She made us feel very at home and she even texted us about local events that were happening while we were sightseeing around DC. We really enjoyed our stay with her and we look forward to staying with her again in the near future.

There are excellent reviews about Maya and her house, and mine will be very similar: Maya gave me the greatest place and privacy I could have in DC. Balsston is easily accessible, full of shops and restaurants, and the house is so good to feel at home with big bed and efficient kitchen and utilities. Highly recommended!

Maya is incredibly interesting and very sweet. She gave me more than enough privacy and provided a great space at a great price. So much better than staying in a hotel. I needed to move to DC for my job and knew nothing about the area and did not know anyone. I was lucky to find Maya to stay with until my apartment lease started. I am impressed by how much she went out of her way to make me feel comfortable. Her place was nicely decorated and was very comfortable. At first, I wasn’t really sure if it was a good idea staying in somebody’s living room without having a room for myself. But when meeting Maya and seeing her beautifully decorated home, all my doubts vanished and I fully enjoyed staying at hers. Maya is amazing! Maya was a really good host, and made us feel like the place was our own. She provided us with lots of snacks and drinks, and a very comfortable bed. The location is great, and provided a useful base to enjoy the 4th of July celebrations. If you are staying in summer, her A/C is amazingly cool! A complete contrast to the dull motels one would otherwise experience for the price.

Maya is a great host and her place is impeccably clean. The very little time she is around, she is always in her room and it feels you have your own studio apt. The place is a block and half from Ballston mall and another 1 1/2 blocks to metro. I would recommend this to anyone and will definitely look her up again on my visits.

After having my flight cancelled due to the Icelandic volcano, I was in search for a place to stay whilst I sorted out another return flight; I couldn't have been luckier. Maya has a great home where you feel very comfortable. She never got tired answering questions I had prior to my visit. I could use the Internet any time as long as I wanted , there was a metro plan , city plan, absolutely great, she put everything on the table .
