A little about us…

Mike and Dave started hosting on Airbnb almost two years ago with the hope of meeting travelers and sharing their favorite NYC neighborhood with people from all over the world. Not long after we started hosting we also decided to start a sustainable product design company, Holstee. Together with our partner Fabian, the three of us were able to bootstrap much of our business by renting out a room in our apartment.

As our Holstee family continued to grow, we moved into a second apartment just around the corner and continue to rent out our old place with the help of two great friends Eva and Tylea. Between the five of us we are in and out of both apartments when we are not working late or traveling or celebrating - all of which we do a lot of :-)

We are all pretty different, but as a whole we all appreciate meeting new people, traveling, cooking photography and pretty much any outdoor activity.

The first night was horrible. Just arrived from Europe and could not sleep until 3:00 AM because Dave & Mike had a party with 20 people in the apartment. Make sure they don't organize another one like this when you are there... They are very nice people and very friendly. I will recommend this place to another friend this summer.

In a word: EXCELLENT!!! I was SO comfortable at Rad's House. The apartment is thoroughly clean and comfortable; every amenity is provided. It was a pleasure meeting Eva, such a delightful person. I shared the apartment with two lovely women visiting from Germany. All in all, I HIGHLY recommend Rad's House! I can't wait to visit again!

Staying at Rad's house was my first airbnb experience and it was wonderful. It felt like home and the appartment is quiet, spacious and clean. For 8 days i had the appartment to myself. The bed was very nice, even for a person like me who has serious backproblems. Bathroom, kitchen is clean and the ipodhookup is great. Meeting the guys and their friends was also a great experience. I loved staying at Rad's House! The location is amazing (terrific bars, restaurants, coffee houses, and shops all within steps of the front door) and Fabian was very gracious and accomodating. Highly recommended-- a much better alternative to the high priced hotels of New York!

Nice apartment to stay at. Good location and friendly feeling suburb. We were hoping for some local advice but had the place to ourselves. Although nice, we would have liked the company. Overall great stay.

We had a great time stay here with Mike and Fabian. The apartment is in an amazing location, right near all the bars and restaurants in the East Village. It was clean and we felt like we were at home immediately. Mike and Fabian were amazing hosts and we thank them soo much for letting us into their home.

Doesn't get much better than this fab 5. Super considerate, genuinely kind and laugh out loud fun. And awesome impromptu dance parties. And cozy + tasty dinner parties. Plus they speak about 17 languages between the 5 of them. High 5s all around.

The Rad boys are awesome hosts and their apartment is incredible. They have made a home in the middle of New York City in a great location, cozy, comfortable and filled with so many amazing things, you may not want to leave! They're also really solid guys that you'll want to stay friends with after your trip! tip: if you can somehow convince them (I suggest using pastry as a bargaining tool), get the boys to cook for you, they've got skills!
