My husband Josh and I have been married now for almost two years. :-) I am an office manager for a local naturopathic clinic, and Josh works at home as a marketing consultant.

We are happy and pleasant people. I enjoy indoor and outdoor gardening, cooking, and art. Josh really likes metallic chemistry, exotic materials, and bad movies. We attend a silent Quaker meeting from time to time.

We stayed 5 nights at Connie. They were wonderful! We are gone from 7am to 7pm every night so we did not get to see each other much, but house was clean and comfortable. Thank you Connie and Josh :)

Connie and Josh were great host! This was my first airbnb and it was a great experience, she even took me to Voodoo donuts and an awesome record shop! The room is private, comfortable and clean. Highly recommended :]

Connie and Josh are exactly as they describe themselves in their 'About me' comments. China Room is lovely and comfortable. Connie left fresh hydrangea in the bathroom and gave great suggestions for cheap, yummy eats at the historic Jake's downtown. Thanks, Connie and Josh!

Connie and Josh are excellent hosts and really made every effort to make us feel at home and introduce us to the city. The location was very close to the light rail and easily accessible by car or bus. We will definitely return!

I enjoyed my week in Portland, thanks to Connie and Josh! The China Room was clean, cozy, and convenient to many city attractions (Bus 12 is a nice alternative for downtown). Stay here and enjoy your time in Portland! You won't find better hospitality in the city!

Close to the airport, easy to find by car and a fairly quick walk to the TriMet transit center. My stay was a short one and I only interacted with Connie but she was very hospitable and made sure everything was in order. To echo a previous commenter a bit rough around the edges. Worked out fine for what I needed but not likely I'd return as I had some special travel circumstances.

Warm, cozy house and warm, friendly couple. Connie and Josh are so nice, everything is clean and tidy, although the bed isn't super comfy. A night in the China Room is like staying with family. I wish I'd stuck around longer for the famous cookies I'd heard about!

An absolute delight to stay with. Couldn't ask for better hosts. Stayed for 10 nights and never wanted for anything. Met all my needs and then some, even got cookies on my birthday. Proximity to the transit center and airport are just the icing on the cake, the true magic of the China Room is in Josh and Connie!

Connie and Josh are super nice hosts. Accommodations are adequate, although a bit on the budget side. If you're comfortable with hostels, you'll love it. If you're used to nice hotels, it's a little rough around the edges. A great deal though. My stay included cookies from Connie. Yum!

very happy! nice room and friendly hosts. not terribly central, but with portland's great trimet (red line) I was able to get downtown in about 45 minutes. Perfect for a relaxed weekend :)

We stayed 2 nights while we visited with family. Both Connie and Josh were very gracious hosts, making us feel so welcome. The room (and house) is very comfortable, and we both slept very well for not being in our own bed. We plan on staying again when we visit Portland.

Josh and Connie were great hosts. The bed is really comfortable. Great bargain for a very relaxing and romantic space. Highly recommend it. One of the best deals in portland for lodging.

stayed 3 nights. gracious hosts with an easy going vibe around the house. low key and economical are the strengths of the china room. a plus really close to rental return and airport. certainly would stay again.

This was my first trip up to Portland, Oregon from California & I stayed for a copy of days with Connie & Josh & I must say they really made my stay very pleasant & compfortable. Both Connie & Josh were real nice to me & they opened up their home & made me feel real welcome. I really enjoyed my visit to Portland & when I plan my next trip up there again soon I will want to stay there again when I visit.

We only stayed 12 hours, but they were restful and private. Conversation with Josh and Connie added another * to the **** experience. We'd stay there again.

It's such a wonderful experience with Connie and Josh at their lovely China Room. The bed is cozy, clean, comfortable and beautiful. Very authentic Chinese wooden frame with cute small animal carvings. The most important is they are extremely nice and welcoming. My husband and I had a wonderful experience at Connie's house. It was our first Airbnb stay and we are sold on it! It took only 12 minutes to drive to downtown Portland from the house. The futon bed is a little hard but everything else was perfect. We used the kitchen to make dinner, and were even presented with greens from their garden when we left. We will definitely return!

Connie and Josh were extremely welcoming and the house was very cozy and clean. The room felt like home and they even made cookies! This was my first time using Airbnb and I thought it was great. I just wish I had found out about it sooner because this would have been great place to stay for a few days.
