My husband and I enjoyed our overnight stay at the “Trinity” house. As first time users of Airbnb, we were pleased that Ula was friendly and offered great communication while making the arrangements and upon arrival. It was an especially nice touch that she had prepared home-made bread for us and had espresso handy. The house was clean, well decorated, and conveniently located within walking distance to public transit. Based on the reviews, we expected a futon but were pleasantly... More »
January 2012A delightful slice of history in a great neighborhood, close to transport, good food, coffee and all the necessities.
We had a great time staying at Ula's place. She provided easy to follow directions and great recommendations. The place was comfortable and well kept. I can see how the stairs may be a challenge for some people though, very vertical. The place was clean and the provided food was a nice touch. The bed left a little to be desired however. Small, hard and covers were;t big enough for two people comfortably. The proximity to the "el" train was very convenient for going into the city. Not a bad... More »
Very cute place. Small, but perfect for a couple, and the backyard is charming. LOVE the neighborhood it's located in--tons of great coffee, food, bars, etc, within walking distance. I'd definitely come back. The only thing to note is that the apartment has 2 flights of steep and winding stairs, so maybe not a great option if you have small kids or tend to be accident prone :)
Ula left us a delicious loaf of bread, butter, jam and coffee for our arrival. The garden was small but really lovely to have access to it. Ula was also kind enough to allow us to bring our small dog. A Trinity house in Philly is from the colonial period and is a very small home (600sf?) with an extremely vertical staircase. The staircase is so steep, there will be some who can not manage it. I spoke to the neighbors next door who said in the past year each of them had fallen down the... More »
For the price, you're not going to find a better deal in such a great location. Ula was very accomodating and the apartment was clean...would recommend it.
If you are looking for a place to stay in The lower east side, this is definitely a recommendation. Right in the middle of everything, cozy small apartment, close to subway and soho...
Ula made staying at her studio very simple and enjoyable. Everything was clean and exactly as it says, but the studio is a 3 story walk-up. Just a heads up for future renters. Well worth it!
I had a lovely time in Ula's apt. She was very friendly and helpful. A nice place to stay. I recommend it. Mathias
Ula was so friendly and hospitable! With some food for me in the fridge, I felt it as my cozy place in NYC for a few days. The neighbourhood is authentic and artistic, good one to feel the vibe of this incredible city. I would go back again!
Ula was really nice to me and my boyfriend, and explained how the apt works very well. She left us some breakfast goodies to eat and a couple of magazines with what to do in our stay in NYC. The location is awesome if you plan to stay in NYC, the subway is a couple of minutes nearby and there are a lot of restaurants, bars and delis really close to the apt. I recommend it very very much!
The host canceled my reservation.
Ula was very friendly, generous, and accommodating - a great host for our weekend trip to New York. We arrived two hours late Friday night and she waited for us without any complaint. Also, Ula gave us a late check out on Sunday, making it possible for us to go over to Brooklyn without carrying our bags. Her studio is very charming, clean, and in a great location - we definitely felt at home there especially with the coffee, tea, milk, and eggs she left us. We highly recommend Ula.
Ula was a great host, her place is very cute and location is terrific !
We had a good stay at Ula's. The location is perfect, and the apartment is a nice size for 2 people. There was also internet and air-conditioning, which was great during the NY summer heat! However, we had a few issues with the cleanliness of the apartment, which we raised with Ula during our stay. She was very apologetic, and refunded our cleaning money promptly.
Location of Apt couldn't be better if you want to be in the centre of the action in the LES. The apt itself is cosy we stayed for 7 nights and it never felt too small. However you do get what you pay for - I found the lack of air conditioning stifling in the heat of summer, although there is a fan. A few minor quibbles: the light in the bathroom broke and no-one was around to fix it, also towards the end of our stay we noticed cockroaches around the kitchen sink. We asked Ula for at least our... More »
We had a great time at Ula´s. The location of the apartment couldn´t be better. A lot of bars, restaurants and shops in walking distance. The perfect place to explore NYC. We recommend it!
I was more than happy with my stay in Ula's flat. The location was so handy for getting to the subway & then around New York & being able to sit at the window & watch life go by made me feel part of the community. It would have been nice to have had somewhere to hang my clothes & an iron & ironing board would have been great. However these were minor things & Ula even came back early on my last morning to help me down the stairs with my case. As a 64yr old English woman travelling on her own... More »
We had a very pleasant time in Ula's studio. We found it very tidy and clean, she even left us some fresh bread upon our arrival and showed us the neighborhood a little bit. The location is great for art and shopping lovers, walking distance to Soho.
Great location, homely atmosphere. Ulla puntcual on arrival n always contactable. Studio could do wth an iron & ironing board to press shirts. Also a great addition would be a suspended bar to hang clothes, otherwise a gem !
Ula was really a great host!! We had some flight changes due to the volcano eruptions and she was very flexible with modifying the booking dates and financial dealings. Furthermore we forgot something in the apartment and she managed everything perfect so that we got it very fast back. Ulas apartment is cosy and perfect for a couple. The location is great, very central in LES with a lot of nice bars and restaurants around the corner. We highly recommend this place and Ula as a host!!
We stayed for 4 nights at Ula's place and it was just great. Great location, many bars and restaurants around, sweet and clean apartment and Ula herself couldn't be nicer (and left us bread, butter, jelly and coffee). Highly recommend staying there!
I just stayed for 5 nights at Ula's and it was lovely. The location is great- the subway is 3 blocks away and lots of little restaurants and bars in the area. A community feeling neighbourhood.. safe and comfortable being a solo female. There is a late-night health food store a couple of blocks away. It is an adorable little studio apartment with a fire escape you can sit on to have your morning coffee. Very cute and very authentic. MUCH more fun than a hotel. Thanks Ula!
Ula was wonderful. She was very easy to contact before and so helpful when we arrived. The apartment was adorable and clean. Great location- close to great coffee, restaurants, and bars. The subway close by made it super easy to get around the city. Highly recommend staying here.
could not have been more accomidating or helpful. and her place is clean, great location, subway close by, a great coffee shop with free wifi on the same block, whole foods near by - absolutely recommend her place
My partner and I had a wonderful stay at Ula's home. The location was great, we were able to walk to several places, and the subway was very close. We appreciated the little touches like the bread and jelly. We certainly recommend staying here.
Cosy well situated studio. Perfect for a couple. Was great for us to visit Soho, Noho, LES and Bleeker Street and the amazing bakery, Magnolia. Everything was walking distance. Great location for restaurants, pubs, and clubs. Ula left us fresh homemade breed, coffee, fresh sheets and towels. Futon was very comfy. Was very quick to answer all of our questions. Great price value.
very pretty studio in great posistion. Ula was very accommodating. I recommend it
Great guest! Thank you for staying!
June 2010I didn't feel comfortable with Ula. She was dishonest in financial dealings. We agreed upon a certain amount and then days later I found out thru ABB that she had only paid a portion of that. In her review of me, she complains about me having to go through her room to access the bathroom but I TOLD her about that before she came. In her review she acts like it was a surprise. Will not rent to her again.
Ula has a great laugh to go with her smile and her warmhearted spirit. She's quiet, always aware of others around her and goes about her business unobtrusively: a perfect guest.
